2Temperature stability of SmCo(2:17) magnets modified by Ni-Cr two-layer coating显示文摘The oxidation resistance behavior of SmCo(2:17)-type high-temperature magnets modified with Ni-Cr two-layer coating was studied. The study depicts the mass gain kinetics and magnetic properties of uncoated and NiCr-modified magnets oxidized at high temperature(500 ℃) in air for 200 h. The oxidation test results illustrate that the mass gain of uncoated magnet is6.95 mg·cm^(-2) which is more than that(0.08 mg·cm^(-2)) of coated magnet after 200 h. For the magnetic properties concerned, there is a great loss for uncoated magnet, while for coated magnet, magnetic properties do not change much. The study of uncoated magnet through X-ray diffraction(XRD) and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA) shows that the invasion of oxygen at high temperature leads to the loss of magnetic properties by changing the microstructure of magnet.Saira Bibi Jing-Min Wang M. 32,3-Diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives as potential anticancer and anti-inflammatory agents显示文摘In this study we examined the suitability of the 3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine ring system in developing novel anticancer and anti-inflammatory agents incorporating a diaryl pharmacophore. Eight 2,3-diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives retrieved from our in-house database were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against nine cancer cell lines. The results indicated that the compounds showed moderate cytotoxic activity against MCF-7, MDA-MB-468, K562 and SaOS2 cells, with K562 being the most sensitive among the four cancer cell lines. The eight 2,3-diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives were also evaluated for their COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitory activity in vitro. The results showed that compound 3f exhibited 2-fold selectivity with IC_(50) values of 9.2 and 21.8 mmol/L against COX-2 and COX-1, respectively. 4Significance of glacio-morphological factors in glacier retreat:a case study of part of Chenab basin,Himalaya显示文摘A study has been carried out in part of Chenab basin,Himalaya to understand the relationship between glacio-morphological factors and change in glacial area. Initially change in areal extent of glaciers was derived for two time frames(1962-2001/02 and 2001/02-2010/11). The study comprised of 324 glaciers for the monitoring period of 1962-2001/02 for,which 11% loss in glacial area was observed. Two hundred and thirty-eight glaciers were further monitored between 2001/02 and 2010/11. These glaciers showed an area loss of 1.1%. The annual deglaciation has been found to be higher during the period of 1962-2001/02 compared to 2001/02-2010/11. The spatial and temporal variability in deglaciation was also addressed usingglacio-morphic parameters. Area,length,percentage of debris cover,and various elevation parameters of glaciers were observed to have significant controls on relationships to the rate of glacial shrinkage. Largerarea and longer glaciers show a lower percentage of retreat than smaller and shorter ones. Moreover,glaciers located at lower altitudes and having gentle slopes show more area retreat. The results of area retreat in debris covered and debris free glaciers supports that the glaciers covered by debris retard ice melting at some extent. 158 glaciers were observed having no debris cover,and these exhibit 14% of loss in surface area. In glaciers having 40% debris cover,8% of deglaciation was observed. The glaciers located below equilibrium line altitude(ELA) have experienced 4.6% of deglaciation for the time frame 2001/02 – 2010/11 whereas it was found to be 1.1% for the glaciers occurring above ELA. 5Influence of particle size and temperature on the dielectric properties of CoFe_2O_4 nanoparticles显示文摘The objective of this study was to establish the dielectric properties of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles with particle sizes that varied from 28.6 to 5.8 nm. CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized using a chemical coprecipitation method. The particle sizes were calculated according to the Scherrer formula using X-ray diffraction(XRD) peaks, and the particle size distribution curves were constructed by using field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) images. The dielectric permittivity and loss tangents of the samples were determined in the frequency range of 1 kHz to 1 MHz and in the temperature range of 300 to 10 K. Both the dielectric permittivity and the loss tangent were found to decrease with increasing frequency and decreasing temperature. For the smallest CoFe2O4 nanoparticle size, the dielectric permittivity and loss tangent exhibited their highest and lowest values, respectively. 8Evaluation of mannitol effect in patients with acute hepatic failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure using conventional MRI,diffusion tensor imaging and in-vivo proton MR spectroscopy显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect of an intravenous bolus of mannitol in altering brain metabolites, brain water content, brain parenchyma volume, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) volume and clinical signs in controls and in patients with acute liver failure (ALF) and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), by comparing changes in conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), in vivo proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (PMRS) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) before and after its infusion.METHODS: Five patients each with ALF and ACLF in grade 3 or 4 hepatic encephalopathy and with clinical signs of raised intracranial pressure were studied along with five healthy volunteers. After baseline MRI, an intravenous bolus of 20% mannitol solution was given over 10 min in controls as well as in patients with ALF and ACLF. Repeat MRI for the same position was acquired 30 min after completing the mannitol injection. RESULTS: No statistically significant difference was observed between controls and patients with ALF and ACLF in metabolite ratios, DTI metrics and brain volume or CSF volume following 45 min of mannitol infusion. There was no change in clinical status at the end of post-mannitol imaging.
