1CT patterns of nodal disease in pediatric chest tuberculosis显示文摘AIM:To highlight various patterns of nodal involvement and post treatment changes in pediatric chest tuberculosis based on contrast enhanced computed tomography(CECT) scans of chest.METHODS:This was a retrospective study consisting of 91 patients aged less than 17 years, who attended Paediatrics OPD of All India Institute of Medical Sciences with clinically diagnosed tuberculosis or with chest radiographs suggestive of chest tuberculosis. These patients had an initial chest radiograph as well as CECT of the chest and follow up imaging after 6 mo,and in some cases 9 mo,of completion of anti-tubercular treatment(ATT).CECT of these patients was reviewed for the location and extent of nodal involvement along with determination of site, size, enhancement pattern and calcification.RESULTS:Enlargement of mediastinal or hilar lymph nodes was found in 88/91 patients(96.7%),with the most common locations being paratracheal(84.1%),and subcarinal(76.1%).The most common pattern of enhancement was found to be inhomogenous. The nodes were conglomerate in 56.8% and discrete in 43.2%.In addition, perinodal fat was obscured in 84.1% of patients. In the post-treatment scan, there was 87.4% reduction in the size of the nodes. All nodes post-treatment were discrete and homogenous with perinodal fat present.Calcification was found both pre-and post-treatment,but there was an increase in incidence after treatment(41.7%).There was hence a reduction in size, change in enhancement pattern, and appearance of perinodal fat with treatment.CONCLUSION:Tubercular nodes have varied appearance and enhancement pattern.Conglomeration and obscuration of perinodal fat suggest activity. In residual nodes decision to continue ATT requires clinical correlation.Amar Mukund Rashmi Khurana Ashu S Bhalla Arun K Gupta Sushil K Kabra 2011World Journal of Radiology2011,3,1:5

16Fast Single Image Haze Removal Method for Inhomogeneous Environment Using Variable Scattering Coefficient显示文摘The images capture in a bad environment usually loses its fidelity and contrast. As the light rays travel towards its destination they get scattered several times due to the tiny particles of fog and pollutants in the environment, therefore the energy gets lost due to multiple scattering till it arrives its destination, and this degrades the images. So the images taken in bad weather appear in bad quality. Therefore, single image haze removal is quite a bit tough task.Significant research has been done in the haze removal algorithm but in all the techniques, the coefficient of scattering is taken as a constant according to the homogeneous atmosphere but in real time this does not happen. Therefore, this paper introduces a simple and efficient method so that the scattering coefficient becomes variable according to the inhomogeneous environment. Then, this research aims to remove the haze with the help of a fast and effective algorithm i.e.,Prior Color Fading, according to the inhomogeneous environmental properties.Thereby,to filter the depth map,the authors used a weighted guided image filtering which removes the drawbacks of guided image filter.Afterwards the scattering coefficient is made variable according to the inhomogeneous atmosphere and then the Simple Color Balance Algorithm is applied so that the readability property of images can be increased. The proposed method tested on various general outdoor images and synthetic hazy images and analyzed on various parameters Mean Square Error(MSE),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR),Mean Structural Similarity(MSSIM)and the Universal Objective Quality Index(UQI).Experimental results for the proposed method show that the proposed approach provides better results as compared to the state-of-the-art haze removal algorithms.Rashmi Gupta Manju Khari Vipul Gupta Elena Verdú Xing Wu Enrique Herrera-Viedma Rubén González Crespo 2020Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,6:0
17Ayurveda and in silico Approach: A Challenging Proficient Confluence for Better Development of Effective Traditional Medicine Spotlighting Network Pharmacology显示文摘Coalescence of traditional medicine Ayurveda and in silico technology is a rigor for supplementary development of future-ready effective traditional medicine. Ayurveda is a popular traditional medicine in South Asia, emanating worldwide for the treatment of metabolic disorders and chronic illness. Techniques of in silico biology are not much explored for the investigation of a variety of bioactive phytochemicals of Ayurvedic herbs. Drug repurposing, reverse pharmacology, and polypharmacology in Ayurveda are areas in silico explorations that are needed to understand the rich repertoire of herbs, minerals, herbo-minerals, and assorted Ayurvedic formulations. This review emphasizes exploring the concept of Ayurveda with in silico approaches and the need for Ayurinformatics studies. It also provides an overview of in silico studies done on phytoconstituents of some important Ayurvedic plants, the utility of in silico studies in Ayurvedic phytoconstituents/formulations, limitations/challenges, and prospects of in silico studies in Ayurveda. This article discusses the convergence of in silico work, especially in the least explored field of Ayurveda. The focused coalesce of these two domains could present a predictive combinatorial platform to enhance translational research magnitude. In nutshell, it could provide new insight into an Ayurvedic drug discovery involving an in silico approach that could not only alleviate the process of traditional medicine research but also enhance its effectiveness in addressing health care.Rashmi Sahu Prashant Kumar Gupta Amit Mishra Awanish Kumar 2023Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2023,29,5:0
18Secure and resilient improved image steganography using hybrid fuzzy neural network with fuzzy logic显示文摘The exponential growth in communication networks, data technology, advanced libraries, and mainly World Wide Web services has played a pivotal role in facilitating the retrieval of various types of information as needed. However, this progress has also led to security concerns related to the transmission of confidential data.Nevertheless, safeguarding these data during communication through insecure channels is crucial for obvious reasons. The emergence of steganography offers a robust approach to concealing confidential information, such as images, audio tracks, text files, and video files,in suitable media carriers.A novel technique is envisioned based on back-propagation learning.According to the proposed method,a hybrid fuzzy neural network(HFNN)is applied to the output obtained from the least significant bit substitution of secret data using pixel value dif-ferences and exploiting the modification direction.Through simulation and test results,it has been observed that the proposed methodology achieves secure steganography and superior visual quality.During the experiments,we observed that for the secret image of the cameraman, the PSNR&MSE values of the proposed technique are 61.963895 and 0.041361,respectively.Sachin Dhawan Hemanta Kumar Bhuyan Subhendu Kumar Pani Vinayakumar Ravi Rashmi Gupta Arun Rana Alanoud Al Mazroa 2024Journal of Safety Science and Resilience2024,5,1:0
