| 6 | Development of 2D computer program to determine geometry of rock mass blocks显示文摘Due to various geological processes such as tectonic activities fractures might be created in rock mass body which causes creation of blocks with different shapes and sizes in the rock body. Exact understanding of these blocks geometry is an essential issue concerned in different domains of rock engineering such as support system of underground spaces built in jointed rock masses, design of blasting pattern, optimization of fragmentation, determination of cube blocks in quarry mines, blocks stability, etc. The aim of this paper is to develop a computer program to determine geometry of rock mass blocks in two dimensional spaces. In this article, the geometry of jointed rock mass is programmed in MATLABTM. | Yarahmadi Reza Bagherpour Raheb Kakaie Reza Mirzaie N. | 7 | Clinical feature and treatment outcome of active ocular toxoplasmosis in immunocompetent patients显示文摘Objective:To investigate clinical features, ocular findings, management and follow-up data in a series of immunocompetent patients with active ocular toxoplasmosis. Methods:A prospective study of 25 immunocompetent patients with first attack of active ocular toxoplasmosis. Age,gender, clinical presentation and ophthalmic examination finding were recorded. The diagnosis was based on typical finding in ophthalmic examination.Systemic antimicrobials and corticosteroids were given to all patients. The treatment outcome and side-effects of drugs were observed.Results:Thirteen(52%) patients were male and 12(48%) were female. The mean±SD age at presentation was(26.8±11.1) years.Eye involvement was unilateral in 92% of patients and bilateral only in 8%.Lesions were located at the peripheral retina in 48%,at the macula retina in 28%,and at the macula and peripheral retina in 24%of the patients. The most common presenting symptom was blurred vision(96%),followed by eye pain(28%).All patients received antimicrobials treatment.Systemic corticosteroids were used in 48%of the patients. Clinical response were observed in 44%2 weeks before and in 56%2 weeks after.Vision was improved with treatment except in two cases. No recurrences occurred during one year follow up.Conclusions:Our study shows that active ocular toxoplasmosis has no gender predilection and affects young individuals.Unilateral involvement is more common in our study.Response to treatment is good in patients and no recurrences occur during one year follow-up.It may have implications in favor of treatment of active ocular toxoplasmosis. | Mohammad Nassaji Gholamreza Daraie Raheb Ghorbani | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,7: | 0 |
| 8 | Size-Dependent Geometrically Nonlinear Free Vibration of First-Order Shear Deformable Piezoelectric-Piezomagnetic Nanobeams Using the Nonlocal Theory显示文摘This article investigates the geometrically nonlinear free vibration of piezoelectric-piezomagnetic nanobeams subjected to magneto-electro-thermal loading taking into account size effect using the nonlocal elasticity theory. To this end,the sizedependent nonlinear governing equations of motion and corresponding boundary conditions are derived according to the nonlocal elasticity theory and the first-order shear deformation theory with von K´arm´an-type of kinematic nonlinearity. The effects of size-dependence,shear deformations, rotary inertia,piezoelectric-piezomagnetic coupling, thermal environment and geometrical nonlinearity are taken into account. The generalized differential quadrature(GDQ)method in conjunction with the numerical Galerkin method, periodic time differential operators and pseudo arclength continuation method is utilized to compute the nonlinear frequency response of piezoelectric-piezomagnetic nanobeams. The influences of various parameters such as non-dimensional nonlocal parameter, temperature change, initial applied electric voltage, initial applied magnetic potential,length-to-thickness ratio and different boundary conditions on the geometrically nonlinear free vibration characteristics of piezoelectric-piezomagnetic nanobeams are demonstrated by numerical examples. It is illustrated that the hardening spring effect increases with increasing the non-dimensional nonlocal parameter, positive initial applied voltage, negative initial applied magnetic potential, temperature rise and decreases with increasing the negative initial applied voltage, positive initial applied magnetic potential and length-tothickness ratio. | Raheb Gholami Reza Ansari | 2018 | Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2018,10,1: | 0 |
| 9 | Geochemical indices of soil development on basalt rocks in arid to sub-humid climosequence of Central Iran显示文摘Quantitative weathering indices are efficient tools in determining the soil development from the underlying rocks. In order to evaluate the effects of climate on the soils developed under an arid to sub-humid climosequence in central Iran, twenty soil-development indices were compared.Twentyfour samples from six pedons were analyzed for routine physico-chemical and geochemical analyses using X-ray fluorescence(XRF).The lowest and highest calculated soil development indices were observed in the arid and sub-humid regions respectively.Among the studied indices, fifteen indices showed similar trends concerning the intensity of weathering. The consistency of such trends reveals the feasibility of using these indices to evaluate basalt weathering rate and soil development in arid,semi-arid and sub-humid regions. This study demonstrated that, among the evaluated weathering indices, the Weathering Index of Parker(WIP)and mass transfer coefficient(τ)were the most proper indices for predicting basalt weathering intensity. This is due to the fact that these indices use the highly mobile earth elements which are the most sensitive elements in basalt chemical weathering. The calculated indices were subdivided into three subgroups including the ratios of mobile/immobile,mobile/mobile and immobile/mobile elements based on the elements used in their calculation. The state of soil evolution was more accurately predicted compared to the other subgroups using the mobile/immobile subgroup of indices.Overall, the weathering indices calculated using the mobile elements are better indicators of weathering intensity, soil formation and the exogenous processes across the arid to sub-humid climosequence. | Ahmad HEIDARI Alireza RAHEB | 2020 | Journal of Mountain Science2020,17,7: | 0 |
