1Efficacy of octreotide in the prevention of complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy in patients with soft pancreas and non-dilated pancreatic duct: A prospective randomized trial显示文摘Background: The efficacy of octreotide to prevent postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF) of pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) is still controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of postoperative use of octreotide on the outcomes after PD.Methods: This is a prospective randomized controlled trial for postoperative use of octreotide in patients undergoing PD. Patients with soft pancreas and pancreatic duct < 3 mm were randomized to 2 groups.Group I did not receive postoperative octreotide. Group II received postoperative octreotide. The primary end of the study is to compare the rate of POPF.Results: A total of 104 patients were included in the study and were divided into two randomized groups.There were no significant difference in overall complications and its severity. POPF occurred in 11 patients(21.2%) in group I and 10(19.2%) in group II, without statistical significance(P = 0.807). Also, there was no significant differences between both groups regarding the incidence of biliary leakage(P = 0.083), delayed gastric emptying(P = 0.472), and early postoperative mortality(P = 0.727).Conclusions: Octreotide did not reduce postoperative morbidities, reoperation and mortality rate. 2Amphibians and Reptiles of Luzon Island,Philippines,VI: The Herpetofauna of the Subic Bay Area显示文摘We present detailed species accounts for 55 species of amphibians and reptiles(14 species of frogs,24 snakes,16 lizards,one turtle) from 24 localities in the vicinity of Subic Bay,southern Zambales Province,Luzon Island,Philippines. Although we note numerous species that are conspicuously absent in Subic Bay(and which we expect will eventually be recorded in the region),our many new records plus a summary of the available historical museum specimen data depict a diverse subset of species diversity known from the southern Zambales Mountains of southwestern Luzon. We compare our data to several other recent herpetofunal surveys from Luzon,discuss biogeographic regionalism of this complex island,and report on numerous new natural history observations for many included species. 3Amphibians and Reptiles of Luzon Island,V:The Herpetofauna of Angat Dam Watershed,Bulacan Province,Luzon Island,Philippines显示文摘We report amphibian and reptile distribution records based on recent biodiversity surveys conducted at the Angat Watershed Reservation,Bulacan Province,Luzon Island,Philippines.This watershed constitutes the principal water source for Manila,the Philippines’largest metropolitan area.As virtually nothing is known of the herpetological diversity of the immediate area and the surrounding Bulacan Province,all species recorded as part of our surveys constitute major geographical records and/or significant range extensions.Our data result in a total of 63 new records of amphibian(19 frogs)and reptile(22 lizards,2 turtles,and 20 snakes)species for this protected area(and immediate vicinity)that serves as a watershed for the major metropolitan area of Manila and surrounding cities.Together with the few previous literature records,our new records bring the total number of amphibian and reptile species for Bulacan Province to 68.We discuss several strategies for future survey work(focusing on habitat type,seasonal variation,and elevational variability)that we anticipate will result in increased knowledge of diversity within the Angat Watershed Reserve.The impressive level of herpetological diversity within such a small area,so close to Metro Manila,emphasizes that the diversity and distribution patterns of amphibians and reptiles from Luzon are still poorly known and in need of further study.David S.MCLEOD Cameron D.SILER Arvin C.DIESMOS Mae L.DIESMOS Vhon S.GARCIA Angela O.ARKONCEO Kelvin L.BALAQUIT Charlene C.UY Mariden M.VILLASERAN Earle C.YARRA Rafe M.BROWN 2011Asian Herpetological Research2011,2,4:4

5A PD-Type State-Dependent Riccati Equation With Iterative Learning Augmentation for Mechanical Systems显示文摘This work proposes a novel proportional-derivative(PD)-type state-dependent Riccati equation(SDRE)approach with iterative learning control(ILC)augmentation.On the one hand,the PD-type control gains could adopt many useful available criteria and tools of conventional PD controllers.On the other hand,the SDRE adds nonlinear and optimality characteristics to the controller,i.e.,increasing the stability margins.These advantages with the ILC correction part deliver a precise control law with the capability of error reduction by learning.The SDRE provides a symmetric-positive-definite distributed nonlinear suboptimal gain K(x)for the control input law u=–R–1(x)BT(x)K(x)x.The sub-blocks of the overall gain R–1(x)BT(x)K(x),are not necessarily symmetric positive definite.A new design is proposed to transform the optimal gain into two symmetric-positive-definite gains like PD-type controllers as u=–KSP(x)e–KSD(x)?.The new form allows us to analytically prove the stability of the proposed learning-based controller for mechanical systems;and presents guaranteed uniform boundedness in finite-time between learning loops.The symmetric PD-type controller is also developed for the state-dependent differential Riccati equation(SDDRE)to manipulate the final time.The SDDRE expresses a differential equation with a final boundary condition,which imposes a constraint on time that could be used for finitetime control.So,the availability of PD-type finite-time control is an asset for enhancing the conventional classical linear controllers with this tool.The learning rules benefit from the gradient descent method for both regulation and tracking cases.One of the advantages of this approach is a guaranteed-stability even from the first loop of learning.A mechanical manipulator,as an illustrative example,was simulated for both regulation and tracking problems.Successful experimental validation was done to show the capability of the system in practice by the implementation of the proposed method on a variable-pitch rotor benchmark.Saeed Rafee Nekoo JoséÁngel Acosta Guillermo Heredia Anibal Ollero 2022IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2022,9,8:2
