1Reflective chiral meta-holography: multiplexing holograms for circularly polarized waves显示文摘By allowing almost arbitrary distributions of amplitude and phase of electromagnetic waves to be generated by a layer of sub-wavelength-size unit cells,metasurfaces have given rise to the field of meta-holography.However,holography with circularly polarized waves remains complicated as the achiral building blocks of existing meta-holograms inevitably contribute to holographic images generated by both left-handed and right-handed waves.Here we demonstrate how planar chirality enables the fully independent realization of high-efficiency meta-holograms for one circular polarization or the other.Such circular-polarization-selective meta-holograms are based on chiral building blocks that reflect either left-handed or right-handed circularly polarized waves with an orientation-dependent phase.Using terahertz waves,we experimentally demonstrate that this allows the straightforward design of reflective phase meta-holograms,where the use of alternating structures of opposite handedness yields independent holographic images for circularly polarized waves of opposite handedness with negligible polarization cross-talk.Qiu Wang Eric Plum Quanlong Yang Xueqian Zhang Quan Xu Yuehong Xu Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:15
2PRINCIPLE TO CLOSED LOOP CONTROL DIFFERENTIAL CYLINDER WITH DOUBLE SPEED VARIABLE PUMPS AND SINGLE LOOP CONTROL SIGNAL显示文摘To control the position of differential cylinder closed loop without using any throttle elements, a new idea that two speed variable pumps are used to compensate the non-symmetric flow of differential cylinder is carried out.According to the leaking property of the system, a speed offset principle is also proposed to eliminate the cavitation and tension caused by the leakage and condensation of oil, which makes the system be in the same state as a valve controlled circuit.This principle is explained theoretically and experimentally.Further the relationship that the pressures in cylinder chambers change with load and leakage, and the relationship between biasing speed and pre-load pressures in cylinder chambers are established.The research has proved that the new system has similar technique features as those of controlled with servo valves, but due to the elimination of all the throttle lose the efficiency of system can be improved greatly.QuanLong NeubertT HelduserS 2004Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2004,17,1:8

4Research on effectiveness of coal mine safety supervision system reform on three types of collieries in China显示文摘Coal mine safety supervision system plays an important role in the coal mine safety management in China.However,the current supervision system is established on the basis of learning the advanced experience from other developed countries.It needs to be further improved according to national conditions.Therefore,the effectiveness of coal mine safety supervision system reform on three types of collieries are assessed by using time series analysis method based on comparative analysis of the supervision system before and after the reform in this paper.The regression results show that the structural reform is not conductive to the improvement of coal mine safety situation in the short term,but conductive significantly in the long term.Specifically,the effects in township coal mines are more significant than stateowned key coal mines in the long run,but negative effects also exist in the short term.The negative effects in state-owned key coal mines are non-significant compared with township coal mines.Moreover,the regression results are analyzed from the aspects of the closure policy of illegal small township coal mines at the end of 1998 and shortage of the new supervision system.Finally,the suggestions on improving the new supervision system are put forward based on the above analysis.Quanlong Liu Xinchun Li Fuyuan Guan 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,3:7

6Winter wheat mapping using a random forest classifier combined with multi-temporal and multi-sensor data显示文摘Wheat is a major staple food crop in China.Accurate and cost-effective wheat mapping is exceedingly critical for food production management,food security warnings,and food trade policy-making in China.To reduce confusion between wheat and non-wheat crops for accurate growth stage wheat mapping,we present a novel approach that combines a random forest(RF)classifier with multi-sensor and multi-temporal image data.This study aims to(1)determine whether an RF combined with multi-sensor and multi-temporal imagery can achieve accurate winter wheat mapping,(2)to find out whether the proposed approach can provide improved performance over the traditional classifiers,and(3)examine the feasibility of deriving reliable estimates of winter wheat-growing areas from medium-resolution remotely sensed data.Winter wheat mapping experiments were conducted in Boxing County.The experimental results suggest that the proposed method can achieve good performance,with an overall accuracy of 92.9%and a kappa coefficient(κ)of 0.858.The winter wheat acreage was estimated at 33,895.71 ha with a relative error of only 9.3%.The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach has been evaluated through comparison with other image classification methods.We conclude that the proposed approach can provide accurate delineation of winter wheat areas.Jiantao Liu Quanlong Feng Jianhua Gong Jieping Zhou Jianming Liang Yi Li 2018International Journal of Digital Earth2018,11,8:3

8Mapping Microscale Strain Fields Around a Crack Tip in Molybdenum Via Geometric Phase Analysis and Digital Image Correlation显示文摘Uniaxial tension tests were conducted on single-edge-notched tensile specimens of pure molybdenum with a mesh grid pattern in front of the notch. A series of images of crack initialization and propagation with a distorted mesh grid pattern were obtained by means of in situ scanning electron microscopy. Strain fields around the crack tip were mapped successively using geometric phase analysis and digital image correlation techniques, and then compared with the predictions obtained through linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM). 10Broadband terahertz rotator with an all-dielectric metasurface显示文摘Polarization manipulation is essential in developing cutting-edge photonic devices ranging from optical communication displays to solar energy harvesting. Most previous works for efficient polarization control cannot avoid utilizing metallic components that inevitably suffer from large ohmic loss and thus low operational efficiency.Replacing metallic components with Mie resonance-based dielectric resonators will largely suppress the ohmic loss toward high-efficiency metamaterial devices. Here, we propose an efficient approach for broadband, highquality polarization rotation operating in transmission mode with all-dielectric metamaterials in the terahertz regime. By separating the orthogonal polarization components in space, we obtain rotated output waves with a conversion efficiency of 67.5%. 11Low-dimensional MXenes as noble metal-free co-catalyst for solar-to-fuel production:Progress and prospects显示文摘Direct conversion of solar energy into chemical fuels via semiconducting materials through photocatalytic technology is a sustainable way to tackle the global warming, environmental issue and energy crisis. Transition metal carbides and nitrides(MXenes), a newly emerging class of 2D layered materials, has gained tremendous attention as a noble metal-free co-catalyst for boosting photoreactivity due to its extraordinary characteristics like elemental abundance, excellent electrical conductivity, abundant surface functional groups, unique hydrophilic behavior and flexible modulation of chemical composition. The rational integration of low-dimensional MXenes in the form of 2D layered structures or 0D quantum dots with diverse semiconducting materials offer more versatile and robust heterostructured-photocatalysts that are applicable in solar fuel generation. Herein, we summarize the recent advances and achievements in the synthesis of low-dimensional MXenes and their application in hydrogen production from water splitting and CO_(2) photoreduction. A comprehensive discussion of the fundamentals for solar fuel production, synthesis strategies and theoretical calculations for MXenes-based photocatalysts are also given. 13Terahertz bound states in the continuum with incident angle robustness induced by a dual period metagrating显示文摘Metasurface-empowered bound state in the continuum(BIC)provides a unique route for fascinating functional devices with infinitely high quality factors.This method is particularly attractive to the terahertz community because it may essentially solve the deficiencies in terahertz filters,sensors,lasers,and nonlinear sources.However,most BIC metasurfaces are limited to specified incident angles that seriously dim their application prospects.Here,we propose that a dual-period dielectric metagrating can support multiple families of BICs that originate from guided mode resonances in the dielectric grating and exhibit infinite quality factors at arbitrarily tilted incidence.This robustness was analyzed based on the Bloch theory and verified at tilted incident angles.We also demonstrate that inducing geometric asymmetry is an efficient way to manipulate the leakage and coupling of these BICs,which can mimic the electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)effect in our dual-period metagrating.In this demonstration,a slow-light effect with a measured group delay of 117 ps was achieved.The incidence-insensitive BICs proposed here may greatly extend the application scenarios of the BIC effect.The high Q factor and outstanding slow-light effect in the metagrating show exciting prospects in realizing high-performance filters,sensors,and modulators for prompting terahertz applications.Wenqiao Shi Jianqiang Gu Xingyuan Zhang Quan Xu Jiaguang Han Quanlong Yang Longqing Cong Weili Zhang 2022Photonics Research2022,10,3:1

15Computer Simulation of Turbulent Flow through a Hydraulic Turbine Draft Tube显示文摘Based on the Navier-Stokes equations and the standard k-ε turbulence model, this paper presents the derivation of the governing equations for the turbulent flow field in a draft tube. The mathematical model for the turbulent flow through a draft tube is set up when the boundary conditions, including the inlet boundary conditions, the outlet boundary conditions and the wall boundary conditions, have been implemented. The governing equations are formulated in a discrete form on a staggered grid system by the finite volume method. The second-order central difference approximation and hybrid scheme are used for discretization. The computation and analysis on internal flow through a draft tube have been carried out by using the simplec algorithm and cfx-tasc flow software so as to obtain the simulated flow fields. The calculation results at the design operating condition for the draft tube are presented in this paper. 20Recent advances in solar-driven CO_(2) reduction over g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts显示文摘The persistent increase of CO_(2) levels in the atmosphere,already exceeding 400 ppm,urges the exploration of CO_(2) emission reduction and recycling technologies.Ideally,photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2) into valuable hydrocarbons realizes solar-to-chemical energy conversion,which is a desirable“kill two birds with one stone”strategy;namely,CO_(2) photoreduction can simultaneously tackle energy shortage and keep global carbon balance.Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))working on CO_(2) reduction reaction deserves a highlight not only for the metal-free feature that endows it with low cost,tunable electronic structure,and easy fabrication properties but also because of its strong reduction ability.The present review concisely summarizes the latest advances of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts toward CO_(2) reduction.It starts with the discussion of thermodynamics and dynamics aspects of the CO_(2) reduction process.Then the modification strategies to promote g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts in CO_(2) photoreduction have been discussed in detail,including surface functionalization,molecule structure engineering,crystallization,morphology engineering,loading cocatalyst,and constructing heterojunction.Meanwhile,the intrinsic factors affecting CO_(2) reduction activity and selectivity are analyzed and summarized.In the end,the challenges and prospects for the future development of highly g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts in CO_(2) reduction are also presented.Quanlong Xu Zhihua Xia Jingmei Zhang Zhiyi Wei Qin Guo Huile Jin Hua Tang Shouzhu Li Xuecong Pan Zhi Su Shun Wang 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,2:1
