2Ultrasonography guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for hepatic cavernous hemangioma显示文摘AIM: Hepatic cavernous hemangioma (HCH) is the mostcommon benign tumor of the liver and its management isstill controversial. Recent successin situ radiofrequencyablation of hepatic malignancies has led us to consider usingthis technique in patients with HCH. This study was to assessthe efficacy, safety, and complications of percutaneousradiofrequency ablation (PRFA) under ultrasonographyguidance in patients with HCH.METHODS: Twelve patients (four men and eight women,age ranged 33-56 years, mean age was 41.7 years) with 15hepatic cavernous hemangiomas (2.5 cm to 9.5 cm) weretreated using the RF-2000 generator and 10-needle LeVeenelectrode percutaneously guided by B-ultrasound. Lesionslarger than 3 cm were treated by multiple overlappingablations that encompass the entire lesion as well as a rimof normal liver tissue (approximately 0.5 cm).RESULTS: All the patients who received PRFA therapy hadno severe pain, bleeding or bile leakage during and afterthe procedures. Nine to 34 months′ follow-up (mean, 21months) by ultrasound and/or spiral CT scan demonstratedthat the ablated lesions in this group were shrunk remarkably,and the shrunken range was 38-79 % (mean, 67 % per 21months). 3Anti-Helicobacter pylori therapy followed by celecoxib on progression of gastric precancerous lesions显示文摘AIM:To evaluate whether celecoxib,a selective cyclooxygenase 2(COX-2) inhibitor,could reduce the severity of gastric precancerous lesions following Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) eradication.METHODS:H pylori-eradicated patients with gastric precancerous lesions randomly received either celecoxib(n=30) or placebo(n=30) for up to 3 mo.COX-2 expression and activity was determined by immunostaining and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) assay,cell proliferation by Ki-67 immunostaining,apoptosis by TUNEL staining and angiogenesis by microvascular density(MVD) assay using CD31 staining.RESULTS:COX-2 protein expression was significantly increased in gastric precancerous lesions(atrophy,intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia,respectively) compared with chronic gastritis,and was concomitant with an increase in cell proliferation and angiogenesis.A significant improvement in precancerous lesions was observed in patients who received celecoxib compared with those who received placebo(P<0.001).Of these three changes,84.6% of sites with dysplasia regressed in patients treated with celecoxib(P=0.002) compared with 60% in the placebo group,suggesting that celecoxib was effective on the regression of dysplasia.COX-2 protein expression(P<0.001) and COX-2 activity(P<0.001) in the gastric tissues were consistently lower in celecoxib-treated patients compared with the placebo-treated subjects.Moreover,it was also shown that celecoxib suppressed cell proliferation(P<0.01),induced cell apoptosis(P<0.01) and inhibited angiogenesis with decreased MVD(P<0.001).However,all of these effects were not seen in placebo-treated subjects.Furthermore,COX-2 inhibition resulted in the up-regulation of PPARγ expression,a protective molecule with anti-neoplastic effects.CONCLUSION:H pylori eradication therapy followed by celecoxib treatment improves gastric precancerous lesions by inhibiting COX-2 activity,inducing apoptosis,and suppressing cell proliferation and angiogenesis.Li-Jing Zhang Shi-Yan Wang Xiao-Hui Huo Zhen-Long Zhu Jian-Kun Chu Jin-Cheng Ma Dong-Sheng Cui Ping Gu Zeng-Ren Zhao Ming-Wei Wang Jun Yu 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,22:32

6The efficiency of long-term straw return to sequester organic carbon in Northeast China's cropland显示文摘Black soil is one of the most precious soil resources on earth because it has abundant carbon stocks and a relatively high production capacity. However, decreasing organic matter after land reclamation, and the effects of long-term inputs of organic carbon have made it less fertile black soil in Northeast China. Straw return could be an effective method for improving soil organic carbon(SOC) sequestration in black soils. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether straw return effectively increases SOC sequestration. Long-term field experiments were conducted at three sites in Northeast China with varying latitudes and SOC densities. Study plots were subjected to three treatments: no fertilization(CK); inorganic fertilization(NPK); and NPK plus straw return(NPKS). The results showed that the SOC stocks resulting from NPKS treatment were 4.0 and 5.7% higher than those from NPK treatment at two sites, but straw return did not significantly affect the SOC stocks at the third site. Furthermore, at higher SOC densities, the NPKS treatment resulted in significantly higher soil carbon sequestration rates(CSR) than the NPK treatment. The equilibrium value of the CSR for the NPKS treatment equated to cultivation times of 17, 11, and 8 years at the different sites. Straw return did not significantly increase the SOC stocks in regions with low SOC densities, but did enhance the C pool in regions with high SOC densities. These results show that there is strong regional variation in the effects of straw return on the SOC stocks in black soil in Northeast China. 7Soil Bacterial Communities Under Different Long-Term Fertilization Regimes in Three Locations Across the Black Soil Region of Northeast China显示文摘Although soil bacteria play critical roles in agro-ecosystems, the knowledge of their response to long-term fertilization across the black soil region of Northeast China is limited. In this study, we sequenced 16 S rRNA genes to assess the effects of four long-term fertilization regimes—non-fertilization(NoF), chemical fertilizer(CF), manure(M), and chemical fertilizer plus manure(CFM)—on soil properties and bacterial communities in three locations, the northern, middle, and southern parts, across the black soil region. Results showed that the influence of fertilization regimes on soil properties varied significantly among the three locations. Manure fertilization significantly increased microbial biomass carbon and relative abundance of copiotrophic bacteria. Principal component analysis(PCA)showed that the total bacterial communities were separated into three groups according to the sampling location despite long-term fertilization, and that soil pH was the most important factor in shifting bacterial communities. In addition, similar fertilization regimes resulted in different influences on bacterial community composition, and the most influential soil properties varied among the three locations. 8Decolorization of reactive dyes by laccase immobilized in alginate/gelatin blent with PEG显示文摘To achieve effective decolorization of reactive dyes,laccase immobilization was investigated.Laccase 0.2%(m/V)(Denilite IIS) was trapped in beads of alginate/gelatin blent with polyethylene glycol(PEG),and then the supporters were activated by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde.The results of repeated batch decolorization showed that gelatin and appropriate concentration of glutaraldehyde accelerated the decolorization of Reactive Red B-3BF(RRB);PEG had a positive effect on enzyme stability and led to an increase of color removal.While the beads contained 0.2%,2.0%,2.0%,and 0.5%(m/V)of laccase,alginate,gelatin,and PEG,respectively.The dye of 50 mg/L initial concentration of RRB was decolorized down to 50%during the tenth repeated batch.As far as the decolorization mechanism was concerned,the thermal and pH stabilities of the immobilized laccase were also investigated and were both appreciably improved.The study indicates that the immobilized laccase can be potential candidate for utilization in biodecolorization processes.WANG, Ping FAN, Xuerong CUI, Li WANG, Qiang ZHOU, Aihui 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,12:15

10Selective laser melting of NiTi alloy with superior tensile property and shape memory effect显示文摘It is a challenge to develop complex-shaped Ni Ti shape memory alloy parts by traditional processing methods, due to the poor machinability of Ni Ti alloy. It is reported that selective laser melting(SLM) of additive manufacturing could overcome this problem. However, the reported SLM-produced Ni Ti exhibits poor tensile ductility due to the inner defects and adverse unidirectional columnar grains from SLM process. In this work, the defect-less SLM-Ni Ti with nondirective columnar grains was fabricated by optimizing the intraformational laser scanning length and interformational laser scanning direction. The obtained lath-shaped SLM-Ni Ti sample exhibits tensile strain of 15.6%, more than twice of the reported maximum result(7%). 12Corrosion resistance of bioinspired DNA-induced Ca-P coating on biodegradable magnesium alloy显示文摘Bioinspired coatings with decreased corrosion rate and enhanced bond strength are at the core of future clinic applications on degradable magnesium(Mg)-based implants.The hybrid of organic and inorganic compounds offers a strategy to fabricate biodegradable,biocompatible and compact coatings on biomedical Mg alloys.Hereby,a comparison with and without DNA addition was made on the corrosion resistance and adhesion strength of Ca-P coatings fabricated on AZ31 alloy via hydrothermal deposition.The morphology,chemical composition,and crystallographic structure of the coatings were investigated by means of SEM,EDS and FTIR as well as XRD before and after corrosion tests.Corrosion resistance was evaluated via potentiodynamic polarization curves,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and hydrogen evolution tests in Hank’s solution.Results show that the coatings are mainly characterized by tricalcium phosphate(TCP),dicalcium phosphate anhydrous(DCPA)and calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite(CDHA).The presence of DNA leads to the formation of Ca-P coating with improved corrosion resistance and adhesion strength.Additionally,the formation mechanism for DNA-induced Ca-P coating is proposed.The DNA-induced Ca-P coating exhibits a promising future for controlling the corrosion rate of biodegradable Mg alloys.©2019 Published by Elsevier B.V.on behalf of Chongqing University.Ping Liu Jia-Min Wang Xiao-Tong Yu Xiao-Bo Chen Shuo-Qi Li Dong-Chu Chen Shao-Kang Guan Rong-Chang Zeng Lan-Yue Cui 2019Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,1:13
13Neddylation of PTEN regulates its nuclear import and promotes tumor development显示文摘PTEN tumor suppressor opposes the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in the cytoplasm and maintains chromosomal integrity in the nucleus.Nucleus–cytoplasm shuttling of PTEN is regulated by ubiquitylation,SUMOylation and phosphorylation,and nuclear PTEN has been proposed to exhibit tumor-suppressive functions.Here we show that PTEN is conjugated by Nedd8 under high glucose conditions,which induces PTEN nuclear import without effects on PTEN stability.PTEN neddylation is promoted by the XIAP ligase and removed by the NEDP1 deneddylase.We identify Lys197 and Lys402 as major neddylation sites on PTEN.Neddylated PTEN accumulates predominantly in the nucleus and promotes rather than suppresses cell proliferation and metabolism.The nuclear neddylated PTEN dephosphorylates the fatty acid synthase(FASN)protein,inhibits the TRIM21-mediated ubiquitylation and degradation of FASN,and then promotes de novo fatty acid synthesis.In human breast cancer tissues,neddylated PTEN correlates with tumor progression and poor prognosis.Therefore,we demonstrate a previously unidentified pool of nuclear PTEN in the Nedd8-conjugated form and an unexpected tumor-promoting role of neddylated PTEN.Ping Xie Zhiqiang Peng Yujiao Chen Hongchang Li Mengge Du Yawen Tan Xin Zhang Zhe Lu Chun-Ping Cui Cui Hua Liu Fuchu He Lingqiang Zhang 2021Cell Research2021,31,3:11
14Expression of NOS and HIF-1αin human colorectal carcinoma and implication in tumor angiogenesis显示文摘AIM: To study CD34, CD105, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), endogenous nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), and hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1)αexpression in human colorectal carcinomas. METHODS: The tissue microarrays (TMAs) were made up of 80 cases of colorectal carcinoma and 80 cases of non-neoplasm colorectal mucosa. The expression of CD34, CD105, NOS and HIF-1αwas detected by immunohistochemistry (S-P). RESULTS: iNOS and HIF-1αexpression in colorectal carcinoma was significantly higher than in non-neoplasm colorectal mucosa (X2 = 43.166, P < 0.01; X2 = 10.4278, P < 0.01); eNOS expression in colorectal carcinoma was significantly lower than in non-neoplasm colorectal mucosa (X2 = 11.354, P < 0.01). The expression of iNOS correlated with differentiation (X2 = 18.141, P < 0.01), invasive depth (X2 = 4.748, P < 0.01), and Micro vessel density (MVD) (t = 2.327, P < 0.05). The expression of HIF-1αwas correlated with infiltrating depth (X2 = 4.397, P < 0.05), Duke's staging (X2= 4.255, P < 0.05), and MVD (t = 2.272, P < 0.05). No correlation was found in eNOS expression. 18Bearing behavior and failure mechanism of squeezed branch piles显示文摘The current practice for the design of squeezed branch piles is mainly based on the calculated bearing capacity of circular piles. Insufficient considerations of the load-transfer mechanism, branch effect and failure mechanism, as well as overreliance on pile load tests, have led to conservative designs and limited application. This study performs full-scale field load tests on instrumented squeezed branch piles and shows that the shaft force curves have obvious drop steps at the branch position, indicating that the branches can effectively share the pile top load. The effects of branch position, spacing, number and diameter on the pile bearing capacity are analyzed numerically. The numerical results indicate that the squeezed branch piles have two types of failure mechanisms, i.e. individual branch failure mechanism and cylindrical failure mechanism. 19Saliva: potential diagnostic value and transmission of 2019-nCoV显示文摘2019-n Co V epidemic was firstly reported at late December of 2019 and has caused a global outbreak of COVID-19 now.Saliva,a biofluid largely generated from salivary glands in oral cavity,has been reported 2019-n Co V nucleic acid positive.Besides lungs,salivary glands and tongue are possibly another hosts of 2019-n Co V due to expression of ACE2.Close contact or short-range transmission of infectious saliva droplets is a primary mode for 2019-n Co V to disseminate as claimed by WHO,while long-distance saliva aerosol transmission is highly environment dependent within indoor space with aerosol-generating procedures such as dental practice.So far,no direct evidence has been found that 2019-n Co V is vital in air flow for long time.Therefore,to prevent formation of infectious saliva droplets,to thoroughly disinfect indoor air and to block acquisition of saliva droplets could slow down2019-n Co V dissemination.This review summarizes diagnostic value of saliva for 2019-n Co V,possibly direct invasion into oral tissues,and close contact transmission of 2019-n Co V by saliva droplets,expecting to contribute to 2019-n Co V epidemic control.Ruoshi Xu Bomiao Cui Xiaobo Duan Ping Zhang Xuedong Zhou Quan Yuan 2020International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,2:9
