It consists of numerical and experimental modeling of gas flow and heat transfer in an annular channel. Velocity and temperature profiles are modeled in the air gap of a high-speed test machine. Friction and heat transfer coefficients are presented in a large velocity range. The goals are reached acceptably using numerical and experimental research. The velocity field by the numerical method does not match in every respect the estimated flow mode. | 2 | Intragenic antagonistic roles of protein and circRNA in tumorigenesis显示文摘circRNAs arise from back splicing events during mRNA processing, and when deregulated can play an active role in cancer. Here we characterize a new circRNA (circPOK) encoded by the Zbtb7a gene (also kown as POKEMON, LRF) in the context of mesenchymal tumor progression. circPOK functions as a non-coding proto-oncogenic RNA independently and antithetically to its linear transcript counterpart, which acts as a tumor suppressor by encoding the Pokemon transcription factor. We find that circPOK regulates pro-proliferative and pro-angiogenic factors by co-activation of the ILF2/3 complex. Importantly, the expression of Pokemon protein and circRNA is aberrantly uncoupled in cancer through differential post-transcriptional regulation. Thus, we identify a novel type of genetic unit, the iRegulon, that yields biochemically distinct RNA products, circular and linear, with diverse and antithetical functions. | 6 | Advantages of white LED lamps and new detector technology in photometry显示文摘Light emitting diode(LED)lighting is becoming more and more popular,as incandescent lamps are being phased out globally.LEDs have several advantages over incandescent lamps,including energy efficiency,robustness,long lifetime,and good temporal stability.The three latter features make LEDs attractive candidates as new photometric standards.Because the spectra of white LEDs are limited to the visible wavelength range,a novel method for the realization of photometric units based on the predictable quantum efficient detector(PQED)can be utilized.The method eliminates the need of photometric filters that are traditionally used in photometry,and instead relies on carrying out the photometric weighting numerically based on the measured relative spectrum of the source.The PQED-based realization simplifies the traceability chain of photometric measurements significantly as compared with the traditional filter-based method.The measured illuminance values of a white LED deviate by only 0.03%when determined by the new and the traditional methods.The new PQED method has significantly lower expanded uncertainty of 0.26%(k=52)as compared with that of the traditional filter-based method of 0.42%(k=52).Furthermore,when filtered photometers that measure LED lighting are calibrated using LED lamps as calibration sources instead of incandescent lamps,a significant decrease in the uncertainty related to the spectral mismatch correction can be obtained.The maximum spectral mismatch errors of LED measurements decreased on average by a factor of 3 when switching from an incandescent lamp to an LED calibration source. | Tomi Pulli Timo Donsberg Tuomas Poikonen Farshid Manoocheri Petri Karha Erkki Ikonen | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 8 |

| 9 | Seasonal variations of acute appendicitis and nonspecific abdominal pain in Finland显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether seasonal changes had an effect on the incidence of acute appendicitis(AA)or nonspecific abdominal pain(NSAP).METHODS:We carried out a national register study of all patients with a hospital discharge diagnosis of AA and acute NSAP in Finland.Data were analyzed for the whole country and correlated to seasonal and weather parameters(temperature,humidity).Moreover,additional sub-analyses were performed for five geographically different area of Finland.RESULTS:The observation period spanned 21 years,with 186558 appendectomies,of which 137528(74%)cases were reported as AA.The incidence of AA declined for 32%over the study period.The average incidence of the NSAP was 34/10000 per year.The mean annual temperature,but not relative humidity,showed clear geographical variations.The incidence of AA decreased significantly during the cold months of the year.No correlation was detected between temperature and incidence of NSAP.Humidity had a statistically significant impact on NSAP.CONCLUSION:The incidence of acute appendicitis is declining in Finland.We detected a clear seasonality in the incidence of AA and NSAP. | Imre Ilves Anne Fagerstrm Karl-Heinz Herzig Petri Juvonen Pekka Miettinen Hannu Paajanen | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,14: | 6 |

Part II: Grooved Surfaces显示文摘The study deals with the cooling of a high-speed electric machine through an air gap with numerical and experimental methods. The rotation speed of the test machine is between 5000-4000 r/rain and the machine is cooled by a forced gas flow through the air gap. In the previous part of the research the friction coefficient was measured for smooth and grooved stator cases with a smooth rotor. The heat transfer coefficient was recently calculated by a numerical method and measured for a smooth stator-rotor combination. In this report the cases with axial groove slots at the stator and/or rotor surfaces are studied. Numerical flow simulations and measurements have been done for the test machine dimensions at a large velocity range. At constant mass flow rate the heat transfer coefficients by the numerical method attain bigger values with groove slots on the stator or rotor surfaces. The results by the numerical method have been confirmed with measurements. | 13 | Fluid dynamic modeling of a free piston engine with labyrinth seals显示文摘Preliminary design and simulation of a free piston engine suitable for small-scale energy production in distributed energy systems is presented in this paper.The properties,particularly the properties of gas seals of the engine are simulated using a simulation program developed for this case,and the results are utilized in preliminary main design parameter selection.The engine simulation program was developed by combining and modifying the source codes of the simulation and calculation programs obtained from Helsinki University of Technology,Tampere University of Technology,and Lappeenranta University of Technology.Because of the contact-free labyrinth seal used in the piston,the efficiency of the motor is lower than the efficiency of a conventional motor with oil lubricated piston rings.On the other hand,the lack of bearing losses,and the lack of losses associated with a crankshaft system and a gearbox,as well as the lack of lubrication oil expenses,compensates this effect.As a net result,this new motor would perform slightly better than the conventional one.Being completely oil-free,it is very environmentally friendly,and its exhaust gases are completely free of oil residuals which are causing problems in normal gas motors. | Jaakko Larjola Juha Honkatukia Petri Sallinen Jari Backman | 2010 | Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,2: | 4 |
| 14 | 川楝内生放线菌多样性及抗菌活性筛选显示文摘【目的】探究药用植物川楝内生放线菌多样性,从中挖掘出新的放线菌菌株,发现新的潜在农业生防和医药先导化合物。【方法】从四川境内的资阳、遂宁以及重庆万州采集川楝的根、茎、叶、果、皮,采用纯培养方法,用4种培养基共分离获得148株放线菌。通过形态学观察筛选出60株放线菌进行RFLP分析,选出代表菌株进行16S r RNA基因序列分析。以3株细菌和6株病原真菌作为指示菌株,检测初筛出的60株菌株的抗菌活性以及聚酮合酶(PKSⅠ、PKSⅡ)基因、非核糖体多肽合成酶(NRPS)基因和卤化酶(Halo)基因。【结果】基于16S r RNA-RFLP分析,60株放线菌被分成10簇,筛选出25株代表菌株分别属于7个属,包括Streptomyces、Micromonospora、Planotetraspora、Streptosporangium、Nocardiopsis、Prauseria、Microbispora,其中链霉菌占73.3%。供试的川楝内生放线菌对细菌、真菌有不同程度的抗菌活性;其中含有4类化合物合成基因的菌株占10%-55%。【结论】药用植物川楝内生放线菌具有丰富的多样性,且不同地区不同部位川楝组织中放线菌的种群存在差异;分离菌株广谱的抗菌活性证明,川楝内生放线菌在次生代谢产物合成方面具有巨大潜力,这为进一步的药物开发提供了丰富的菌种资源。 | 廖萍 赵翀 张瀚能 刘茂柯 Petri Penttinen 张小平 赵珂 | 2016 | 微生物学通报2016,43,11: | 4 |

| 20 | Combining population genomics and ecological niche modeling to assess taxon limits between Carex jemtlandica and C. lepidocarpa显示文摘Carex section Ceratocystis(Cyperaceae)is a group of recently evolved plant species,in which hybridization is frequent,introgression is documented,taxonomy is complex,and morphological boundaries are vague.Within this section,a unified taxonomic treatment of the Carex jemtlandica-Carex lepidocarpa species complex does not exist,and Norway may currently be the sole country accepting species rank for both.Carex jemtlandica is mainly confined to Fennoscandia and is thus a Fennoscandian conservation responsibility.This motivated us to test the principal hypothesis that both C jemtlandica and C lepidocarpa represent evolutionary significant units,and that both deserve their current recognition at species level.We investigated their evolutionary distinctiveness in Norway,using restriction site-associated DNA sequencing and ecological niche modeling.Our genomic results reveal two genetic clusters,largely corresponding to C jemtlandica and C lepidocarpa that also remain distinct in sympatry,despite clear indications of ongoing hybridization and introgression.The ecological niche modeling suggests that they occupy different environmental niches.Jointly,our results clearly show that C.jemtlandica and C lepidocarpa represent separately evolving entities that should qualify recognition as evolutionary significant units.Given the high level of introgression compared to other hybridizing species pairs in Carex we recommend treating C jemtlandica as a subspecies of C lepidocarpa. | Malene Nygaard Petri Kemppainen James D.M.Speed Reidar Elven Kjell Ivar Flatberg Leif P.Galten Narjes Yousefi Heidi Solstad Mika Bendiksby | 2021 | Journal of Systematics and Evolution2021,59,4: | 3 |
