| 1 | Detection of class 1 integron in Acinetobacter baumannii isolates collected from nine hospitals in Turkey显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antibiotic resistance genes inserted into class I and class 2integrons in Acinetobacler baumannii[A.baumannii)isolates obtained from nine different cities in Turkey.Methods:A collection of 281 A.baumannii clinical isolates were collected from nine diferenl state hospitals in Turkey and were confirmed as A.baumannU by conventional biochemical,API testing and bla_(-OXA-51)specific PCR.The isolates were examined by PCR for existence of class I and2 integron gene cassettes.Results:They were characterized by antimicrobial susceptibility testing and the highest resistance rates were determined for piperacillin(90.03%),ciprofloxacin(87.54%),cefepime and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole(81.13%).The lowest resistance rates was for cefotaxime(3.55%).class 1 integrons were detected in 6.4%(18/281)of A.baumannii strains and no class 2 integron was detected.The gene casselles of class 1 inlegrons AacCI-AAC(3)l-aadAI,AacCI-aadA1,AAC(3)-I,AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I-aadA1,TEM-1.AAC(3)-I-aadA1-AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I,AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I-aadA1,AAC(3)-I-aadA1,AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I,AAC(3)-I-aadA1-AAC(3)-I-aadA1,AAC(3)-I-AAC(3)-I-aadA1-AAC(3)-I-aadA1 were detected in eighteen strains.The aac genes family were most frequently found integrated into the class 1 inlegrons and it was followed by aadA genes and TEM-1 genes.Conclusions:This is an extensive study on the distribulion of class 1 integron among A.baumannii in Turkey.In addition to these,two new alleles were observed.Their percentage rates of similarity to other cassettes are 95%aadA1(TK A18)and 89%,aadA 1(ANKA3). | Aysegül Copur Cicek Azer Ozad Düzgün Aysegül Saral Tuba Kayman Zeynep Cizmeci Pervin Ozlem Balci Tuba Dal Mehmet Firat Ismail Tosun Yasemin Ay Alitntop Ahmet Caliskan Yelda Yazici Cemal Sandalli | 2013 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2013,3,9: | 3 |
| 2 | 22-gauge core vs 22-gauge aspiration needle for endoscopic ultrasound-guided sampling of abdominal masses显示文摘AIM To compare the aspiration needle(AN) and core biopsy needle(PC) in endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA) of abdominal masses.METHODS Consecutive patients referred for EUS-FNA were included in this prospective single-center trial. Each patient underwent a puncture of the lesion with both standard 22-gauge(G) AN(Echo Tip Ultra; Cook Medical, Bloomington, Indiana, United States) and the novel 22 G PC(Echo Tip Pro Core; Cook Medical, Bloomington, Indiana, United States) in a randomized fashion; histology was attempted in the PC group only. The main study endpoint was the overall diagnostic accuracy, including the contribution of histology to the final diagnosis. Secondary outcome measures included material adequacy, number of needle passes, and complications.RESULTS Fifty six consecutive patients(29 men; mean age 68 years) with pancreatic lesions(n = 38), lymphadenopathy(n = 13), submucosal tumors(n = 4), or others lesions(n = 1) underwent EUS-FNA using both of the needles in a randomized order. AN and PC reached similar overall results for diagnostic accuracy(AN: 88.9 vs PC: 96.1, P = 0.25), specimen adequacy(AN: 96.4% vs PC: 91.1%, P = 0.38), mean number of passes(AN: 1.5 vs PC: 1.7, P = 0.14), mean cellularity score(AN: 1.7 vs PC: 1.1, P = 0.058), and complications(none). A diagnosis on the basis of histology was achieved in the PC group in 36(64.3%) patients, and in 2 of those as the sole modality. | 18 | Insecticidal Effect of Three Different Plant Extracts on Potato Tuber Moth[Phthorimaea operculella Zeller(Lep.:Gelechiidae)]显示文摘Potato tuber moth[Phthorimae operculella Zeller(Lep.:Gelechiidae)]is the most important insect causing damage of potatoes.It also causes significant damage to tomato and eggplant.The application of plant extracts to control insects is an effective alternative.In this study,the efficacy of extracts from Leptospermum petersonii Bailey(Myrtaceae),Achillea wilhelmsii C.Koch(Asteraceae)and Tanacetum parthenium L.(Asteraceae)on potato tuber moth using two different methods was investigated.Bioassays were used to determine the effect of varying concentrations(for L.petersonii 0.05%,0.1%,0.3%and 0.4%,for A.wilhelmsii and T.parthenium 1%,3%,6%and 12%)of extracts.Experiments were carried out using potato tuber of Solanum tuberosum L.Fourth instar larva of about were used in tuber dipping and larvae dipping methods.In tuber dipping method,the highest mortality(100%)occurred at concentration of 0.4%while the smallest mortality was at 0.05%the extracts of L.petersonii.It was determined that the extract of A.wilhelmsii and T.parthenium had the highest mortality at the highest concentration 85%and 90%respectively.In larva dipping method,the extracts of L.petersonii.A.wilhelmsii and T.parthenium showed the highest mortality at the highest concentrations 100%,82%and 87%respectively.The research was undertaken under laboratory conditions at the Plant Protection Central Research Institute. | Pervin Erdogan Betul Sever Yilmaz | 2018 | Journal of Food Science and Engineering2018,8,5: | 1 |
