| 1 | Effects of size variation and spatial structure on plastic response of plant height to light competition显示文摘Plants only interact with neighbors over restricted distances,so local conditions are of great significance for plants.In this study,a spatially-explicit,individual-based model was constructed to explore the effects of size variation and spatial structure on adaptive plasticity of plant height in response to light competition.In the model a plant maintains its height at an optimal value in order to maximize its growth rate,and this optimal height increases with the increase of the intensity of light competition experienced by the individual plant.When the spatial pattern of the population is non-uniform or there is size variation among individual plants,the height growth curves of individuals different from each other vary due to the differences in the local light environment,and there is also variation in the allocation of photosynthate to height growth among the individual plants.There is no ESS height or height growth strategy on which all plants will converge.Our results indicate that the plasticity of plants' height growth reactions to the light competition should be considered at the individual level and they argue strongly for the importance of the spatial pattern and neighborhood effects in generating the diversity of heights and height growth strategies in plant population. | CHEN ShuYan ZHANG JiaLin JIA Peng XU Jin WANG Gang XIAO Sa | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,12: | 8 |

| 3 | Unexpected elastic isotropy in a black phosphorene/TiC2 van der Waals heterostructure with flexible Li-ion battery anode applications显示文摘Recently, flexible electrodes with biaxial/omnidirectional stretchability haveattracted significant attention. However, most existing pliable electrode materialscan be only stretched in one direction. In this work, an unexpected isotropic vander Waals (vdW) heterostructure is proposed, based on the assembly of two-dimensional crystals of anisotropic black phosphorene (BP) and transition metalcarbide (TIC2). Using vdW-corrected density functional theory calculations, theBPFFiC2 vdW heterostructure was predicted to have excellent structural andmechanical stability, superior electrical conductivity, omnidirectional flexibility,and a high Li storage capacity. We have unraveled the physical origin of theexcellent stability, as well as the Li adsorption preferences of the lithiatedheterostructure, based on a three-step analysis of the stability of the Li-adsorptionprocesses. In addition, the BP/TiC2 vdW heterostructure can also be applied asthe anode material for flexible Na-ion batteries because of its high Na storagecapacity and strong Na binding. | 4 | 3D uniform nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton for ultra-stable sodium metal anode显示文摘Sodium metal batteries are arousing extensive interest owing to their high energy density,low cost and wide resource.However,the practical development of sodium metal batteries is inherently plagued by the severe volume expansion and the dendrite growth of sodium metal anode during long cycles under high current density.Herein,a simple electrospinning method is applied to construct the uniformly nitrogen-doped porous carbon fiber skeleton and used as three-dimensional(3D)current collector for sodium metal anode,which has high specific surface area(1,098 m^2/g)and strong binding to sodium metal.As a result,nitrogen-doped carbon fiber current collector shows a low sodium deposition overpotential and a highly stable cyclability for 3,500 h with a high coulombic effciency of 99.9%at 2 mA/cm^2 and 2 mAh/cm^2.Moreover,the full cells using carbon coated sodium vanadium phosphate as cathode and sodium pre-plated nitrogen-doped carbon fiber skeleton as hybrid anode can stably cycle for 300 times.These results illustrate an effective strategy to construct a 3D uniformly nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton based sodium metal hybrid anode without the formation of dendrites,which provide a prospect for further development and research of high performance sodium metal batteries. | Ben Liu Danni Lei Jin Wang Qingfei Zhang Yinggan Zhang Wei He Hongfei Zheng Baisheng Sa Qingshui Xie Dong-Liang Peng Baihua Qu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,8: | 3 |
| 5 | Dual-Functional Lithiophilic/Sulfiphilic Binary-Metal Selenide Quantum Dots Toward High-Performance Li-S Full Batteries显示文摘The commercial viability of lithium-sulfur batteries is still challenged by the notorious lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)shuttle effect on the sulfur cathode and uncontrollable Li dendrites growth on the Li anode.Herein,a bi-service host with Co-Fe binary-metal selenide quantum dots embedded in three-dimensional inverse opal structured nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton(3DIO FCSe-QDs@NC)is elaborately designed for both sulfur cathode and Li metal anode.The highly dispersed FCSe-QDs with superb adsorptive-catalytic properties can effectively immobilize the soluble Li PSs and improve diffusion-conversion kinetics to mitigate the polysulfide-shutting behaviors.Simultaneously,the 3D-ordered porous networks integrated with abundant lithophilic sites can accomplish uniform Li deposition and homogeneous Li-ion flux for suppressing the growth of dendrites.Taking advantage of these merits,the assembled Li-S full batteries with 3DIO FCSe-QDs@NC host exhibit excellent rate performance and stable cycling ability(a low decay rate of 0.014%over 2,000 cycles at 2C).Remarkably,a promising areal capacity of 8.41 mAh cm^(-2)can be achieved at the sulfur loading up to 8.50 mg cm^(-2)with an ultra-low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 4.1μL mg^(-1).This work paves the bi-serve host design from systematic experimental and theoretical analysis,which provides a viable avenue to solve the challenges of both sulfur and Li electrodes for practical Li-S full batteries. | Youzhang Huang Liang Lin Yinggan Zhang Lie Liu Baisheng Sa Jie Lin Laisen Wang Dong-Liang Peng Qingshui Xie | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,5: | 2 |
