| 12 | Effects of Nonmonotonic Functional Responses on a Disease Transmission Model:Modeling and Simulation显示文摘In this article,a novel susceptible-infected-recovered epidemic model with nonmonotonic incidence and treatment rates is proposed and analyzed mathematically.The Monod-Haldane functional response is considered for nonmonotonic behavior of both incidence rate and treatment rate.The model analysis shows that the model has two equilibria which are named as disease-free equilibrium(DFE)and endemic equilibrium(EE).The stability analysis has been performed for the local and global behavior of the DFE and EE.With the help of the basic reproduction number(R_(0)),we investigate that DFE is locally asymptotically stable when R_(0)<1 and unstable when R_(0)>1.The local stability of DFE at R_(0)=1 has been analyzed,and it is obtained that DFE exhibits a forward transcritical bifurcation.Further,we identify conditions for the existence of EE and show the local stability of EE under certain conditions.Moreover,the global stability behavior of DFE and EE has been investigated.Lastly,numerical simulations have been done in the support of our theoretical findings. | Abhishek Kumar Nilam | 2022 | Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2022,10,2: | 0 |

| 15 | Anthropogenic disturbance of aquatic biodiversity and water quality of an urban river in Penang, Malaysia显示文摘Malaysia's rapid economic and demographic development have placed negative pressure on its water supplies and the quality of the Juru River, which is close to the nation's capital and its major source of water. Healthy aquatic ecosystems are supported by physicochemical properties and biological diversity. This study evaluated the anthropogenic impacts on aquatic biodiversity, especially plankton, fish, and macrobenthos, as well as the water quality of the Juru River in the Penang area. Aquatic biodiversity and river water parameters were collected from ten sampling stations along the Juru River. Seven variables were used to assess the physicochemical environment: pH, temperature, total suspended solids (TSS), salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and chemical oxygen demand. At each sampling station, the total number of plankton, fish, and macrobenthic taxa were counted and analyzed. The relationships between the physicochemical parameters and aquatic biodiversity were investigated with biotypological analysis, principal component analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and linear regression analysis. These analyses showed that the richness and diversity indices were generally influenced by salinity, temperature, TSS, BOD, and pH. The data obtained in this study supported the bioindicator concept. | 19 | Improvement of Plasma Performance with Lithium Wall Conditioning in Aditya Tokamak显示文摘Lithiumization of the vacuum vessel wall of the Aditya tokamak using a lithium rod exposed to glow discharge cleaning plasma has been done to understand its effect on plasma performance. After the Li-coating, an increment of ~100 eV in plasma electron temperature has been observed in most of the discharges compared to discharges without Li coating, and the shot reproducibility is considerably improved. Detailed studies of impurity behaviour and hydrogen recycling are made in the Li coated discharges by observing spectral lines of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen in the visible region using optical fiber, an interference filter, and PMT based systems. A large reduction in O I signal (up to ~ 40% to 50%) and a 20% to 30% decrease of H α signal indicate significant reduction of wall recycling. Furthermore, VUV emissions from O V and Fe XV monitored by a grazing incidence monochromator also show the reduction. Lower Fe XV emission indicates the declined impurity penetration to the core plasma in the Li coated discharges. Significant increase of the particle and energy confinement times and the reduction of Z eff of the plasma certainly indicate the improved plasma parameters in the Aditya tokamak after lithium wall conditioning. | M.
