2MHD Seismology of a loop-like filament tube by observed kink waves显示文摘We report and analyze observational evidence of global kink oscillations in a solar filament as observed in Ha by instruments administered by National Solar Observatory(NSO)/Global Oscillation Network Group(GONG).An M 1.1-class flare in active region(AR) 11692 occurred on 2013 March 15 and induced a global kink mode in the filament lying towards the southwest of AR 11692.We find periods of about 61-67 minutes and damping times of 92-117 minutes at positions of three vertical slices chosen in and around the filament apex.We find that the waves are damped.From the observed period of the global kink mode and damping timescale using the theory of resonant absorption,we perform prominence seismology.We estimate a lower cut-off value for the inhomogeneity length scale to be around 0.34-0.44 times the radius of the filament cross-section.Vaibhav Pant Abhishek K Srivastava Dipankar Banerjee Marcel Goossens Peng-Fei Chen Navin Chandra Joshi Yu-Hao Zhou 2015Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2015,15,10:1

4MOLECULAR DYNAMICS SIMULATION OF POLYMER/CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITES显示文摘In this paper, we present classical molecular dynamics(MD) simulations of model polymer/CNT composites constructed by embedding a single wall(10,10) CNT into two different amorphous polymer matrices: poly(methyl methacrylate) and poly{(m-phenylene-vinylene)-co-[(2,5-dioctoxy-p-phenylene) vinylene]}, respectively, with different volume fractions. The simulation results support the idea that it is possible to use CNTs to mechanically reinforce an appropriate polymer matrix, especially in the longitudinal direction of the nanotube. The comparison of the simulation results with the macroscopic rule-of-mixtures for composite systems showed that for strong interfacial interactions, there can be large deviations of the results from the rule-ofmixtures. 7Optimization of substrate ratio for beer production from finger millet and barley显示文摘Seventeen designed experiments were conducted in three steps(malting,brewing and fermentation)to produce beer from barley,finger millet and the combination of both.Effects of independent variables with three levels for each i.e.blend ratios of grains(100:0,50:50,0:100),kilning temperature(50℃,70℃,90℃)and malted grain to water ratios(1:3,1:5,1:7)were investigated on product quality.The results of the study indicated that all the independent parameters i.e.blend ratio,kilning temperature and slurry ratio affected the responses(pH,colour,bitterness and alcohol content)significantly.Optimum values of parameters,from the simultaneous optimization done using Design Expert 8.0.6.1 software,for beer production,were found to be 68:32 blend ratio,50℃ kilning temperature and 1:7 slurry ratio.The model F-value was found to be highly significant at 1% level of significance for all the responses.All the responses could be predicted by fitting the second order mathematical model and adequacy checked by R^(2).Sanjay Kumar Anupama Singh Navin Chandra Shahi Khan Chand Kopal Gupta 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,2:0
