1Prehypertension: Underlying pathology and therapeutic options显示文摘Prehypertension(PHTN) is a global major health risk that subjects individuals to double the risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD) independent of progression to overt hypertension. Its prevalence rate varies considerably from country to country ranging between 21.9% and 52%. Many hypotheses are proposed to explain the underlying pathophysiology of PHTN. The most notable of these implicate the renin-angiotensin system(RAS) and vascular endothelium. However, other processes that involve reactive oxygen species, the inflammatory cytokines, prostglandins and C-reactive protein as well as the autonomic and central nervous systems are also suggested. Drugs affecting RAS have been shown to produce beneficial effects in prehypertensives though such was not unequivocal. On the other hand, drugs such as β-adrenoceptor blocking agents were not shown to be useful. Leading clinical guidelines suggest using dietary and lifestyle modifications as a first line interventional strategy to curb the progress of PHTN; however, other clinically respected views call for using drugs. This review provides an overview of the poten-tial pathophysiological processes associated with PHTN, abridges current intervention strategies and suggests investigating the value of using the 'Polypill' in prehypertensive subjects to ascertain its potential in delaying(or preventing) CVD associated with raised blood pressure in the presence of other risk factors.Sulayma Albarwani Sultan Al-Siyabi Musbah O Tanira 2014World Journal of Cardiology2014,6,8:13

17时间分数阶对流-扩散方程的有限差分解法(英文)显示文摘In this paper, three implicit finite difference methods are developed to solve one dimensional time fractional advection-diffusion equation. The fractional derivative is treated by applying right shifted Gr¨unwald-Letnikov formula of order α ∈(0, 1). We investigate the stability analysis by using von Neumann method with mathematical induction and prove that these three proposed methods are unconditionally stable. 18Efficient Resource Allocation Algorithm in Uplink OFDM-Based Cognitive Radio Networks显示文摘The computational complexity of resource allocation processes,in cognitive radio networks(CRNs),is a major issue to be managed.Furthermore,the complicated solution of the optimal algorithm for handling resource allocation in CRNs makes it unsuitable to adopt in real-world applications where both cognitive users,CRs,and primary users,PUs,exist in the identical geographical area.Hence,this work offers a primarily price-based power algorithm to reduce computational complexity in uplink scenarioswhile limiting interference to PUs to allowable threshold.Hence,this paper,compared to other frameworks proposed in the literature,proposes a two-step approach to reduce the complexity of the proposed mathematical model.In the first step,the subcarriers are assigned to the users of the CRN,while the cost function includes a pricing scheme to provide better power control algorithm with improved reliability proposed in the second stage.The main contribution of this paper is to lessen the complexity of the proposed algorithm and to offer flexibility in controlling the interference produced to the users of the primary networks,which has been achieved by including a pricing function in the proposed cost function.Finally,the performance of the proposed power and subcarrier algorithm is confirmed for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM).Simulation results prove that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than other algorithms,albeit with a lesser complexity of O(NM)+O(Nlog(N)).Omar Abdulghafoor Musbah Shaat Ibraheem Shayea Ahmad Hamood Abdelzahir Abdelmaboud Ashraf Osman Ibrahim Fadhil Mukhlif Herish Badal Norafida Ithnin Ali Khadim Lwas 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,5:0
