Synthesis and characterization of poppy seed oil methyl esters显示文摘Response surface methodology(RSM) was used to determine the optimum conditions of the methanolysis of crude poppy seed oil using Na OCH3 as catalyst. The experiments were run according to five levels, four variable central composite rotatable design(CCRD) using RSM. The reaction variables, i.e., molar ratio of methanol/oil(3:1–9:1), catalyst concentration(0.5 wt%–1.25 wt% Na OCH3), reaction temperature(25–65 °C), and reaction time(20–90 min) were studied. We demonstrated that the molar ratio of methanol/oil, catalyst concentration, and reaction temperature were the significant parameters affecting the yield of poppy seed oil methyl esters(PSOMEs). The optimum transesterification reaction conditions, established using the RSM, which offered a89.35% PSOME yield, were found to be 7.5:1 molar ratio of methanol/oil, 0.75% catalyst concentration, 45 °C reaction temperature, and 90 min reaction time. The proposed process provided an average biodiesel yield of more than 85%. A linear correlation was constructed between the observed and predicted values of the yield. The gas chromatography(GC) analyses have shown that PSOMEs contain linoleic-, oleic-, palmitic-, and stearic-acids as main fatty acids. The FTIR spectrum of the PSOMEs was also analyzed to confirm the completion of the transesterification reaction. The fuel properties of the PSOMEs were discussed in light of biodiesel standards(ASTM D 6751 and EN 14214). | Umer Rashid Muhammad Ibrahim Imededdine Arbi Nehdi Saud Ibrahim Al-Resayes Sammi Ullah Muhammad Aamer Mehmood Saira Shahzadi | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,8: | 0
Mobile biosafety level (BSL) 2 laboratories deployment: Strengthening the diagnostic facilities in Pakistan with emerging public health challenges and the way forward显示文摘Availability of mobile laboratories can facilitate rapid on-spot detection of pathogens, monitor its presence in certain populations and inform health authorities to take immediate remedial measures.Currently available biosafety and biosecurity guidelines and policies may not completely articulate the increased demand to manage mobile units in infectious disease outbreaks in remote parts of the country for rapid diagnosis, and also allows research and epidemiological study take place appropriately. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the current limitations and develop and implement biosafety and biosecurity guidelines as well as the protocols for operations, security, and response plan of mobile biosafety level 2 laboratories and their deployment.Keeping in view the sensitivity of it,a comprehensive plan was developed to address it in view of Global Health Security framework.Biosafety and biosecurity protocols were developed including Risk Assessment Tool(RAT)fitting the needs and strengthen the diagnostic and epidemiological capacity in the field covering remote parts of country to fill the gaps observed during the COVID-19 pandemic.Currently the biosafety and biosecurity best practices guidelines and biosecurity policy and regulations are directed mostly towards static laboratories.A biosafety and biosecurity manual developed to adopt and meet the requirements for MBSL 2.For acute health infectious threats including the COVID-19 outbreak and other epidemics, rapid diagnosis can curb and mitigate the problem before it gets out of its boundaries creating significant health risks for the public and economy. The deployment of mobile laboratories will certainly help in curbing these catastrophes. | Shamsul Arfin Qasmi Aamer Ikram Muhammad Tariq Muhammad Tahir Khadim Nabeel Ahmed Maqbool | 2023 | Journal of Biosafety and Biosecurity2023,5,2: | 0

Genomic Epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan显示文摘COVID-19 has swept globally and Pakistan is no exception. To investigate the initial introductions and transmissions of the SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan,we performed the largest genomic epidemiology study of COVID-19 in Pakistan and generated 150 complete SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences from samples collected from March 16 to June 1,2020.We identified a total of 347 mutated positions,31 of which were over-represented in Pakistan.Meanwhile,we found over 1000 intra-host single-nucleotide variants(iSNVs).Several of them occurred concurrently, indicating possible interactions among them or coevolution. Some of the high-frequency iSNVs in Pakistan were not observed in the global population, suggesting strong purifying selections. The genomic epidemiology revealed five distinctive spreading clusters. The largest cluster consisted of 74 viruses which were derived from different geographic locations of Pakistan and formed a deep hierarchical structure, indicating an extensive and persistent nation-wide transmission of the virus that was probably attributed to a signature mutation(G8371T in ORF1ab)of this cluster.Furthermore,28 putative international introductions were identified, several of which are consistent with the epidemiological investigations. In all, this study has inferred the possible pathways of introductions and transmissions of SARS-CoV-2 in Pakistan, which could aid ongoing and future viral surveillance and COVID-19 control. | Shuhui Song Cuiping Li Lu Kang Dongmei Tian Nazish Badar Wentai Ma Shilei Zhao Xuan Jiang Chun Wang Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Shuangli Li Qiuhui Qi Aamer Ikram Muhammad Salman Massab Umair Huma Shireen Fatima Batool Bing Zhang Hua Chen Yun-Gui Yang Amir Ali Abbasi Mingkun Li Yongbiao Xue Yiming Bao | 2021 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2021,19,5: | 0
Modelling and Simulation of COVID-19 Outbreak Prediction Using Supervised Machine Learning显示文摘Novel Coronavirus-19(COVID-19)is a newer type of coronavirus that has not been formally detected in humans. It is established that this disease often affects people of different age groups, particularly those with body disorders, blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems,or weakened immune systems. The epidemic of this infection has recently had a huge impact on people around the globe with rising mortality rates.Rising levels of mortality are attributed to their transmitting behavior through physical contact between humans. It is extremely necessary to monitor the transmission of the infection and also to anticipate the early stages of the disease in such a way that the appropriate timing of effective precautionary measures can be taken. The latest global coronavirus epidemic(COVID-19)has brought new challenges to the scientific community.Artificial Intelligence(AI)-motivated methodologies may be useful in predicting the conditions, consequences, and implications of such an outbreak. These forecasts may help to monitor and prevent the spread of these outbreaks. This article proposes a predictive framework incorporating Support Vector Machines(SVM)in the forecasting of a potential outbreak of COVID-19.The findings indicate that the suggested system outperforms cutting-edge approaches. The method could be used to predict the long-term spread of such an outbreak so that we can implement proactive measures in advance. The findings of the analyses indicate that the SVM forecasting framework outperformed the Neural Network methods in terms of accuracy and computational complexity. The proposed SVM system model exhibits 98.88%and 96.79%result in terms of accuracy during training and validation respectively. | Rachid Zagrouba Muhammad Adnan Khan Atta-ur-Rahman Muhammad Aamer Saleem Muhammad Faheem Mushtaq Abdur Rehman Muhammad Farhan Khan | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,3: | 0
An Efficient Proxy Blind Signcryption Scheme for IoT显示文摘Recent years have witnessed growing scientific research interest in the Internet of Things(IoT)technologies, which supports the development of a variety of applications such as health care,Industry 4.0,agriculture,ecological data management, and other various domains.IoT utilizes the Internet as a prime medium of communication for both single documents as well as multi-digital messages. However, due to the wide-open nature of the Internet,it is important to ensure the anonymity, untraceably, confidentiality, and unforgeability of communication with efficient computational complexity and low bandwidth. We designed a light weight and secure proxy blind signcryption for multi-digital messages based on a hyperelliptic curve(HEC).Our results outperform the available schemes in terms of computational cost and communication bandwidth. The designed scheme also has the desired authentication, unforgeability of warrants and/or plaintext, confidentiality, integrity, and blindness, respectively.Further, our scheme is more suitable for devices with low computation power such as mobiles and tablets. | Aamer Khan Insaf Ullah Fahad Algarni Muhammad Naeem M.Irfan Uddin Muhammad Asghar Khan | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,3: | 0
Deep eutectic ionic liquids based on DABCO-derived quaternary ammonium salts: A promising reaction medium in gaining access to terpyridines显示文摘Owing to the directional H-bonding,coordination and π-stacking abilities, terpyridines have been widely used as supramolecular tectons in molecular architectures, skeletons in molecular devices and metallopolymers, and are gaining importance in medicinal chemistry. In this paper,we have synthesized, characterized and applied deep eutectic ionic liquids (DEILs) based on 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane;triethylenediamine (DABCO)-derived quatemary ammonium salts for the preparation ofterpyridines. These DEILs were synthesized through N-alkylation of DABCO with haloalkanes (1-bromopentane or 1-bromoheptane) followed by mixing and heating with methanol or polyethylene glycol as a hydrogen bond donor. The synthesized DEILs were structurally characterized by IR and NMR.The formation of deep eutectic solvent was confirmed by freezing point depression,it composition was investigated through phase diagram, and its thermal stability was determined through differential scanning calorimetry, derivative thermogravimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis studies.Further, these DEILs were investigated for their effectiveness towards synthesis of 2,2':6',2'-terpyridine,3,2':6',3'-terpyridineand 4,2':6',4'-terpyridine derivatives through Kr(o)hnke reaction. The results show that these three types ofterpyridines can be obtained in reasonable yields (80%-97%) by the one-pot reaction of 2-,3-or 4-acetylpyridine with a variety of aromatic aldehydes in the presence of DEIL as a reaction medium, sodium hydroxide as a base and ammonium acetate as a cyclizing agent. This methodology is highly efficient and cost-effective for synthesis of symmetrical as well as unsymmetrical terpyridines.Importantly, these DEILs can be reused several times without an obvious loss of activity and are non-toxic,low-volatile,biodegradable and highly thermally stable. Therefore, these DEILs as a non-conventional reaction medium for the synthesis of terpyridines provides appealing opportunities to be investigated in the domain of green synthesis. | Muhammad Faisal Azeem Haider Quret ul Aein Aamer Saeed Fayaz Ali Larik | 2019 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2019,13,3: | 0
