1Expression and significance of PTEN, hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha in colorectal adenoma and adenocarcinoma显示文摘AIM: To investigate the expression and significance of PTEN,hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α), and targeting gene VEGF during colorectal carciogenesis.METHODS: Total 71 cases colorectal neoplasms (9 cases of colorectal adenoma and 62 colorectal adenocarcinoma)were formalin fixed and paraffin-embedded, and all specimens were evaluated for PTEN mRNA, HIF-1α mRNA and VEGF protein expression. PTEN mRNA, HIF-1α mRNA were detected by in situ hybridization. VEGF protein was identified by citrate-microwave SP immunohistochemical method.RESULTS: There were significant differences in PTEN, HIF1α and VEGF expression between colorectal adenomas and colorectal adenocarcinoma (P<0.05). The level of PTEN expression decreased as the pathologic stage increased.Conversely, HIF-1α and VEGF expression increased with the Dukes stage as follows: stage A (0.1029±0.0457:0.1207± 0.0436), stage B (0.1656±0.0329: 0.1572±0.0514),and stage C+D (0.2335±0.0748: 0.2219±0.0803). For PTEN expression, there was a significant difference among Dukes stage A, B, and C+D, and the level of PTEN expression was found to be significant higher in Dukes stage A or B than that of Dukes stage C or D. For HIF-1α expression,there was a significant difference between Dukes stage A and B, and the level of HIF-1α expression was found to be significantly higher in Dukes stage C+D than that of Dukes stage A or B. The VEGF expression had similar results as HIF-1α expression. In colorectal adenocarcinoma,decreased levels of PTEN were significantly associated with increased expression of HIF-1α mRNA (r=-0.36, P<0.05)and VEGF protein (r=-0.48, P<0.05) respectively. 3Highly-Sensitive Multiplexed in vivo Imaging Using PEGylated Upconversion Nanoparticles显示文摘Lanthanide-based upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)have been widely explored in various fields,including optical imaging,in recent years.Although earlier work has shown that UCNPs with different lanthanide(Ln3+)dopants exhibit various colors,multicolor-especially in vivo multiplexed biomedical imaging-using UCNPs has rarely been reported.In this work,we synthesize a series of UCNPs with different emission colors and functionalize them with an amphiphilic polymer to confer water solubility.Multicolor in vivo upconversion luminescence(UCL)imaging is demonstrated by imaging subcutaneously injected UCNPs and applied in multiplexed in vivo lymph node mapping.We also use UCNPs for multicolor cancer cell labeling and realize in vivo cell tracking by UCL imaging.Moreover,for the first time we compare the in vivo imaging sensitivity of quantum dot(QD)-based fluorescence imaging and UCNP-based UCL imaging side by side,and find the in vivo detection limit of UCNPs to be at least one order of magnitude lower than that of QDs in our current non-optimized imaging system.Our data suggest that,by virtue of their unique optical properties,UCNPs have great potential for use in highly-sensitive multiplexed biomedical imaging.Liang Cheng Kai Yang Shuai Zhang Mingwang Shao Shuittong Lee Zhuang Liu 2010Nano Research2010,3,10:17
4Comparative study on local and global mechanical properties of bobbin tool and conventional friction stir welded 7085-T7452 aluminum thick plate显示文摘7085-T7452 plates with a thickness of 12 mm were welded by conventional single side and bobbin tool friction stir welding(SS-FSW and BB-FSW, respectively) at different welding parameters. The temperature distribution, microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of joints along the thickness direction were investigated, and digital image correlation(DIC) was utilized to evaluate quantitatively the deformation of different zones during tensile tests. The results indicated that heat-affected zone(HAZ), the local softening region, was responsible for the early plastic deformation and also the fracture location for SS-FSW samples, while a rapid fracture was observed in weld nugget zone(WNZ) before yield behavior for all BB-FSW specimens. The ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of SS-FSW joints presented the highest value of 410 MPa, 82% of the base material, at a rotational speed of 300 rpm and welding speed of 60 mm/min,much higher than that of BB-FSW joints, with a joint efficiency of only 47%. This should be attributed to the Lazy S defect produced by a larger extent of heat input during the BB-FSW process. The whole joint exhibited a much higher elongation than the slices. 5Effect of reinforcing kidney-essence, removing phlegm, and promoting mental therapy on treating Alzheimer's disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the mechanism of reinforcing kidney-essence, removing phlegm, and promoting mental therapy in treating Alzheimer's disease (AD). METHODS: Sixty patients with AD in Wuhan No.1 Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Geriatrics from May 2009 to April 2011 were randomly divided into two groups, with 30 in each group. Patients in Bushenhuatanyizhi group (BHY group) took BHY instant granules (6 g, twice per day). Patients in the control group took piracetam (0.8 g, 3 times per day). There were twelve weeks in a course. Changes in the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) score and Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) score were analyzed before and after treatment. RESULTS: MMSE scores in the two groups in-creased and ADL scores decreased after treatment, compared with those before treatment (both P< 0.05).The total effective rate was 86.67% in the BHY group (10 very effective, 13 effective, 7 non-responsive). The control group was 57.69% (5 very effective, 16 effective, 9 non-responsive) (P<0.05). Superoxide dismutase levels were increased, lipid peroxide and triglyceride levels decreased after treatment in the BHY group as compared with the control group. CONCLUSION: Reinforcing kidney-essence, removing phlegm, and promoting mental therapy can improve cognitive function and daily life of AD patients. 6Interaction of polyhydroxy fullerenes with ferrihydrite:adsorption and aggregation显示文摘The rapid development of nanoscience and nanotechnology, with thousands types of nanomaterials being produced, will lead to various environmental impacts. Thus,understanding the behaviors and fate of these nanomaterials is essential. This study focused on the interaction between polyhydroxy fullerenes(PHF) and ferrihydrite(Fh), a widespread iron(oxyhydr)oxide nanomineral and geosorbent. Our results showed that PHF were effectively adsorbed by Fh. The adsorption isotherm fitted the D-R model well, with an adsorption capacity of 67.1 mg/g. The adsorption mean free energy of 10.72 k J/mol suggested that PHF were chemisorbed on Fh. An increase in the solution p H and a decrease of the Fh surface zeta potential were observed after the adsorption of PHF on Fh; moreover, increasing initial solution p H led to a reduction of adsorption. The Fourier transform infrared spectra detected a red shift of C–O stretching from 1075 to 1062 cm-1 and a decrease of Fe–O bending, implying the interaction between PHF oxygenic functional groups and Fh surface hydroxyls. On the other hand, PHF affected the aggregation and reactivity of Fh by changing its surface physicochemical properties. Aggregation of PHF and Fh with individual particle sizes increasing from 2 nm to larger than 5 nm was measured by atomic force microscopy. The uniform distribution of C and Fe suggested that the aggregates of Fh were possibly bridged by PHF. 9Design of SERS nanoprobes for Raman imaging:materials, critical factors and architectures显示文摘Raman imaging yields high specificity and sensitivity when compared to other imaging modalities, mainly due to its fingerprint signature. However, intrinsic Raman signals are weak, thus limiting medical applications of Raman imaging. By adsorbing Raman molecules onto specific nanostructures such as noble metals, Raman signals can be significantly enhanced, termed surfaceenhanced Raman scattering(SERS). Recent years have witnessed great interest in the development of SERS nanoprobes for Raman imaging. 12Effect of amino acid mutation at position 127 in 3A of a rabbitattenuated foot-and-mouth disease virus serotype Asia1 on viral replication and infection显示文摘An amino acid mutation(R127→I) in the 3A non-structural protein of an FMDV serotype Asia1 rabbit-attenuated ZB strain was previously found after attenuation of the virus. To explore the effects of this mutation on viral replication and infection, the amino acid residue isoleucine(I) was changed to arginine(R) in the infectious cDNA clone of the rabbit-attenuated ZB strain by sitedirected mutagenesis, and the R127-mutated virus was rescued. BHK monolayer cells and suckling mice were inoculated with the R127-mutated virus to test its growth property and pathogenicity, respectively. The effects of the R127 mutation on viral replication and virulence were analyzed. The data showed that there was a slight difference in plaque morphology between the R127-mutated and wild-type viruses. The growth rate of the mutated virus was lower in BHK-21 cells and its virulence in suckling mice was also attenuated. 13A carbon dot-based total green and self-recoverable solid-state electrochemical cell fully utilizing H_(2)O_(2)redox couple显示文摘Electrochemical cell can overcome the inherent intermittence of the renewable energy sources,thus showing great potentials in applications ranging from elec-trical energy storage to future smart grid.However,the current electrochemical cells could not achieve the“total green”feature by fully utilizing the clean and abundant O_(2)/H_(2)O redox couples due to the enormous overpotentials for both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen release reaction(OER).Herein,we report a“total green”electrochemical composite film cell based on carbon dots(CDots),which can realize both ORR and OER in the acid environment.The in-air voltage generation(0.95 V,with a maximum power of 5.3μW)relies on the multiple-electron-transfer redox chemical reaction between the two active components inside the composite film,that is,ORR/OER of CDots and the redox reaction of polyaniline(PANI)on the electrode and the resulting proton concentration gradient.Interestingly,the cell can be self-recovered at low load,recharged by adding H_(2)O_(2),or electrocharged at high load.We anticipate that current study may open up new opportunities for designing and developing total-green energy storage and conversion systems for diverse applications.Zhaomin Chen Xiaoqing Gu Yutong Guo Xin Wang Mingwang Shao Bin Dong Zhenhui Kang 2021SusMat2021,1,3:2
14In-situ transient photovoltage study on interface electron transfer regulation of carbon dots/NiCo_(2)O_(4) photocatalyst for the enhanced overall water splitting activity显示文摘Photocatalytic hydrogen production by overall water solar-splitting is a prospective strategy to solve energy crisis.However,the rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs deeply restricts photocatalytic activity of catalysts.Here,the in-situ transient photovoltage(TPV)technique was developed to investigate the interfacial photogenerated carrier extraction,photogenerated carrier recombination and the interfacial electron delivery kinetics of the photocatalyst.The carbon dots/NiCo_(2)O_(4)(CDs/NiCo_(2)O_(4))composite shows weakened recombination rate of photogenerated carriers due to charge storage of CDs,which enhances the photocatalytic water decomposition activity without any scavenger.CDs can accelerate the interface electron extraction about 0.09 ms,while the maximum electron storage time by CDs is up to 0.7 ms.The optimal CDs/NiCo_(2)O_(4)composite(5 wt.%CDs)displays the hydrogen production of 62µmol·h^(−1)·g^(−1) and oxygen production of 29µmol·h^(−1)·g^(−1) at normal atmosphere,which is about 4 times greater than that of pristine NiCo_(2)O_(4).This work provides sufficient evidence on the charge storage of CDs and the interfacial charge kinetics of photocatalysts on the basis of in-situ TPV tests.Haodong Nie Yan Liu Yi Li Kaiqiang Wei Zhenyu Wu Hong Shi Hui Huang Yang Liu Mingwang Shao Zhenhui Kang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2

Search directions and proximity function are proposed based on a new kernel function which includes neither growth term nor barrier term. Iteration bounds both for large-and small-update methods are derived, namely, and . This new kernel function has simple algebraic expression and the proximity function has not been used before. 17The Influence of Ultrasonic Frequency on the Properties of Ni-Co Coatings Prepared by Ultrasound-assisted Electrodeposition显示文摘In this paper,Ni-Co coatings were electrodeposited onto carbon steel substrates with the aid of ultrasonic agitation.The coatings were analyzed by energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX),X-ray difraction analysis(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The efects of the ultrasonic frequency on the roughness,hardness and corrosion resistance of the Ni-Co coatings were also investigated.The results indicated that the increase of the ultrasonic frequency from 20 to 120 kHz reduced the Ni content and the grain size of Ni-Co coatings.Moreover,the phase structure of the electrodeposited coatings was influenced by the ultrasonic frequency.Under 55 kHz ultrasonic agitation,the Ni-Co coating was single fcc phase and showed the finest roughness and the strongest corrosion resistance in 5 wt.%NaCl solution at the ambient temperature.Under ultrasonic agitation with frequency of 90 kHz,the coating was a mixture of fcc and hcp structure and showed the maximal hardness of about 420 HV.Therefore,ultrasonic agitation helped decrease the roughness,and enhance hardness and corrosion resistance of Ni-Co coatings.Minqi SHENG Chenkai LV Lan HONG Mingwang SHAO Kang WAN Fan LV 2013Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2013,26,6:2
18Thermomechanical coupling simulation and experimental study in the isothermal ECAP processing of Ti-6Al-4V alloy显示文摘The thermomechanical coupling simulation of the isothermal equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was conducted.The effect of processing parameters,ECAP pass number and the residual billet on the effective strain,stress and temperature distribution was investigated.Based on the coupling simulation results,it is found that the shear factor,ram speed,deformation temperature,channel intersection angle and residual billet significantly affect the ECAP deformation behaviors.Meanwhile,the experimental study of the isothermal ECAP process of Ti-6Al-4V alloy using route C,in which the repeated rotation angle around the longitudinal billet axis before reinsertion in the die was 180°,were conducted at a deformation temperature of 750°C,a ram speed of 0.3 mm·s-1,an outer arc of curvature of 60° and a channel intersection angle of 120°.Furthermore,a large amount of recrystallization occurs and some prior α phase grains grow in the post-ECAP process of Ti-6Al-4V alloy.The yield strength of post-ECAP Ti-6Al-4V alloy increases compared with that of as-received Ti-6Al-4V alloy.LI Miaoquan ZHANG Chen LUO Jiao FU Mingwang 2010Rare Metals2010,29,6:2
