| 2 | Antibacterial Performance of a Cu-bearing Stainless Steel against Microorganisms in Tap Water显示文摘Tap water is one of the most commonly used water resources in our daily life. However, the increasing water contamination and the health risk caused by pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli have attracted more attention. The mutualism of different pathogenic bacteria may diminish antibacterial effect of antibacterial agents. It was found that materials used for making pipe and tap played one of the most important roles in promoting bacterial growth. This paper is to report the performance of an innovative type 304 Cu-bearing stainless steel(304Cu SS) against microbes in tap water. The investigation methodologies involved were means of heterotrophic plate count, contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy for observing the cell and subtract surface morphology,atomic absorption spectrometry for copper ions release study, and confocal laser scanning microscopy used for examining live/dead bacteria on normal 304 stainless steel and 304 Cu SS. It was found that the surface free energy varied after being immersed in tap water with polar component and Cu ions release.The results showed 304 Cu SS could effectively kill most of the planktonic bacteria(max 95.9% antibacterial rate), and consequently inhibit bacterial biofilms formation on the surface, contributing to the reduction of pathogenic risk to the surrounding environments. | Mingjun Li Li Nan Dake Xu Guogang Ren Ke Yang | 2015 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,3: | 10 |
| 3 | Analysis of molecular variation in porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus in China between 2007 and 2012显示文摘In the present study, 89 porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) isolates in China during 2007 to 2012 were randomly selected from the GenBank genetic sequence database. Evolutionary characteristics of these isolates were analyzed based on the sequences of non-struc-tural protein 2(Nsp2) and glycoprotein 5(GP5). The genetic variations of the isolates were also compared with six representative strains. The results showed that a high degree of genetic diversity exists among the PRRSV population in China. Highly pathogenic PRRSV isolates, with a discon-tinuous deletion of a 30 amino acid residue in the Nsp2 region, remained the most dominant virus throughout 2007–2012 in China. Owing to the extensive use of representative vaccine strains, natu-ral recombination events occurred between strains. Three isolates – HH08, DY, and YN-2011 – were more closely related to vaccine strains than the other isolates. Both YN-2011 and DY were the evolu-tionary products of recombination events between strains SP and CH-1R. | 5 | 250 years of accumulation, oxygen isotope and chemical records in a firn core from Princess Elizabeth Land, East Antarctica显示文摘A 51.85-m firn core collected from site DT001 (accumulation rate 127 kgm-2a-1, mean annual temperature -33.1 oC) on Princess Elizabeth Land, East Antarctica, during the 1996-97 Chinese First Antarctic Inland Expedition has been analyzed for chemical composition and oxygen isotope ratio. A comparison between the seasonal variations of major ions was carried out in order to reduce the dating uncertainty, using the volcanic markers as time constrains. A deposition period of 251 years was determined. The calculated accumulation rates display an increasing trend before 1820, while after 1820, the trend of the accumulation is not obvious. Overall, temperature change in the region shows a slight increasing trend over the past 250 years. But, notably, a temperature decline of -2 oC is observed from 1860 to the present. This feature, at odds with the warming trend over the past century recorded in both hemispheres, likely reflects a regional characteristic related to the lack of a high latitude/low latitude link in the Southern Hemisphere circulation patterns. The results of the glaciochemical records of the firn core show that the mean concentrations of Cl-, Na+ and Mg2+ are similar to those reported from other sites in East Antarctica. However, the mean concentration of Ca2+ is much higher than that reported from other regions, suggesting the influence of the strong local terrestrial sources in Princess Elizabeth Land. | 6 | Anomalous enhancement oxidation of few-layer MoS_(2)and MoS_(2)/h-BN heterostructure显示文摘Because of profound applications of two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and its heterostructures in electronics,its thermal stability has been spurred substantial interest.We employ a precision muffle furnace at a series of increasing temperatures up to 340℃to study the oxidation behavior of continuous MoS_(2)films by either directly growing mono-and fewlayer MoS_(2)on SiO_(2)/Si substrate,or by mechanically transferring monolayer MoS_(2)or hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)onto monolayer MoS_(2)substrate.Results show that monolayer MoS_(2)can withstand high temperature at 340℃with less oxidation while the few-layer MoS_(2)films are completely oxidized just at 280℃,resulting from the growth-induced tensile strain in few-layer MoS_(2).When the tensile strain of films is released by transfer method,the stacked few-layer MoS_(2)films exhibit superior thermal stability and typical layer-by-layer oxidation behavior at similarly high temperature.Counterintuitively,for the MoS_(2)/h-BN heterostructure,the h-BN film itself stacked on top is not damaged and forms many bubbles at 340℃,whereas the underlying monolayer MoS_(2)film is oxidized completely.By comprehensively using various experimental characterization and molecular dynamics calculations,such anomalous oxidation behavior of MoS_(2)/h-BN heterostructure is mainly due to the increased tensile strain in MoS_(2)film at elevated temperature. | Siming Ren Yanbin Shi Chaozhi Zhang Mingjun Cui Jibin Pu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,8: | 0 |

| 8 | Interaction of AcMADS68 with transcription factors regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis in red-fleshed kiwifruit显示文摘In red-fleshed kiwifruit,anthocyanin pigmentation is a crucial commercial trait.The MYB-bHLH-WD40(MBW)complex and other transcription factors regulate its accumulation.Herein,a new SEP gene,AcMADS68,was identified as a regulatory candidate for anthocyanin biosynthesis in the kiwifruit by transcriptome data and bioinformatic analyses.AcMADS68 alone could not induce the accumulation of anthocyanin both in Actinidia arguta fruit and tobacco leaves.However,in combination with AcMYBF110,AcMYB123,and AcbHLH1,AcMADS68 co-overexpression increased anthocyanin biosynthesis,whereas its silencing reduced anthocyanin accumulation.The results of the dual-luciferase reporter,firefly luciferase complementation,yeast two-hybrid and co-immunoprecipitation assays showed that AcMADS68 could interact with both AcMYBF110 and AcMYB123 but not with AcbHLH1,thereby co-regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis by promoting the activation of the target genes,including AcANS,AcF3GT1,and AcGST1.Moreover,AcMADS68 also could activate the promoter of AcbHLH1 surported by dual-luciferase reporter and yeast one-hybrid assays,thereby further amplifying the regulation signals from the MBW complex,thus resulting in enhanced anthocyanin accumulation in the kiwifruit.These findings may facilitate better elucidation of various regulatory mechanisms underlying anthocyanin accumulation and contribute to the quality enhancement of red-fleshed kiwifruit. | Yanfei Liu Guowen Lv Yaqi Yang Kangxun Ma Xiaolin Ren Mingjun Li Zhande Liu | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,2: | 0 |
