12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Chemical characterization of size-resolved aerosols in four seasons and hazy days in the megacity Beijing of China显示文摘Size-resolved aerosol samples were collected by MOUDI in four seasons in 2007 in Beijing. The PM10 and PM1.8mass concentrations were 166.0 ± 120.5 and 91.6 ± 69.7 μg/m^3, respectively,throughout the measurement, with seasonal variation: nearly two times higher in autumn than in summer and spring. Serious fine particle pollution occurred in winter with the PM1.8/PM10 ratio of 0.63, which was higher than other seasons. The size distribution of PM showed obvious seasonal and diurnal variation, with a smaller fine mode peak in spring and in the daytime. OM(organic matter = 1.6 × OC(organic carbon)) and SIA(secondary inorganic aerosol) were major components of fine particles, while OM, SIA and Ca_2+were major components in coarse particles. Moreover, secondary components, mainly SOA(secondary organic aerosol) and SIA,accounted for 46%–96% of each size bin in fine particles, which meant that secondary pollution existed all year. Sulfates and nitrates, primarily in the form of(NH_4)_2SO_4, NH_4NO_3, Ca SO_4, Na_2SO_4 and K_2SO_4, calculated by the model ISORROPIA II, were major components of the solid phase in fine particles. The PM concentration and size distribution were similar in the four seasons on non-haze days, while large differences occurred on haze days, which indicated seasonal variation of PM concentration and size distribution were dominated by haze days. 5A fishy odor episode in a north China reservoir: Occurrence, origin, and possible odor causing compounds显示文摘A significant outbreak of fishy odor occurred in a reservoir located in Inner Mongolia, China, in the winter of 2011, and the odor rating, algal density and concentrations of some potential odorous compounds were monitored over a period of two months. The peak odor rating of the fishy odor was 7 according to flavor profile analysis. Among the dominant algal species(two diatom and one chrysophyte species) observed during the survey, the chrysophyte Dinobryon sp. was the most abundant species, with the peak density recorded at 88,520 cells/mL. Seven potential algal metabolites including heptanal, 2,4-heptadienal, 2,4-decadienal, nonanal, 2-octenal, 2,6- nonadienal and hexanal were detected. The principal component analysis result showed that n-hexanal, n-heptanal and 2,4-decadienal, possibly the metabolites of diatoms, and 2,4-heptadienal, possibly the metabolite of Dinobryon sp., might have contributed to the fishy odor episode. 8Characterization of disinfection byproduct formation potential in 13 source waters in China显示文摘The formation potential of four trihalomethanes (THMFP) and seven haloacetic acids (HAA 7 FP) in 13 source waters taken from four major water basin areas in China was evaluated using the simulated distribution system (SDS) chlorination method.The specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA 254:the ratio of UV 254 to dissolved organic carbon (DOC)),which ranged between 0.9 and 5.0 L/(mg·m),showed that the organic compounds in different source waters exhibited different reactivities with chlorine.The HAA 7 FP of source waters ranged from 20 to 448 μg/L and the THMFP ranged from 29 to 259 μg/L.The HAA 7 FP concentrations were higher than the THMFP concentrations in all but one of the samples.Therefore,the risks of haloacetic acids (HAAs) should be of concern in some source waters.TCM (chloroform) and BDCM (bromodichloromethane) were the major THM constituents,while TCAA (trichloroacetic acid) and DCAA (dichloroacetic acid) were the major HAA species.Br-THM (brominated THM species) were much higher than BrHAA (brominated HAA species),and the formation of Br-DBP (Br-THM and Br-HAA) should be of concern when the bromide concentration is over 100 μg/L.Junzhi Zhang Jianwei Yu Wei An Juan Liu Yongjing Wang Youjun Chen Jia Tai Min Yang 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:13
9Effects of NO_x and VOCs from Five Emission Sources on Summer Surface O_3 over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region显示文摘The impacts of emissions from industry, power plant, transportation, residential, and biogenic sources on daily maximum surface ozone(O3DM) over the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei(BTH) region in North China in the summer of 2007 were examined in a modeling study. The modeling system consisted of the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) model and the photochemical dispersion model, CAMx. The factor separation technique(FST) was used to quantify the effect of individual emission source types and the synergistic interactions among two or more types. Additionally, the effectiveness of emission reduction scenarios was explored. The industry, power plant, and transportation emission source types were found to be the most important in terms of their individual effects on O3DM. The key contributor to high surface O3was power plant emissions, with a peak individual effect of 40 ppbv in the southwestern BTH area. The individual effect from the biogenic emission category was quite low. The synergistic effects from the combinations of each pair of anthropogenic emission types suppressed O3formation, while the synergistic effects for combinations of three were favorable for O3formation when the industrial and power plant emission source types coexisted. The quadruple synergistic effects were positive only with the combination of power plant, transportation, residential, and biogenic sources, while the quintuple synergistic effect showed only minor impacts on O3DMconcentrations. A 30% reduction in industrial and transportation sources produced the most effective impacts on O3concentrations, with a maximum decrease of 20 ppbv. 10Purification and characterization of a novel immunomodulatory protein from the medicinal mushroom Trametes versicolor显示文摘Bioactive proteins represent an important group of functional agents in medicinal mushrooms.Trametes versicolor(L.) Lloyd is a mushroom frequently used in traditional Chinese medicine for its anti-tumor and immunomodulatory activities.A new immunomodulatory protein from T.versicolor,named TVC,was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation,ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration chromatography.Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis of the purified protein revealed a single band with a molecular weight of 15.0 kD.Native polyacrylamide gel analysis revealed a band at 30 kD,indicating that TVC exists in solution as a homodimer.Isoelectric focusing showed that TVC was an acidic protein with an isoelectric point of 4.0.TVC was found to lack carbohydrate modifications(based on periodic acid/Schiff staining) and it does not agglutinate mouse red blood cells,suggesting that TVC is not a lectin-like protein.Biological activity assays dem-onstrated that TVC can enhance the proliferation of splenocytes,while it has no stimulatory effects on CD4+and CD8+T cells. 11Characterization of Amino Acid Composition in Fruits of Three Rosa roxburghii Genotypes显示文摘Rosa roxburghii Tratt., is an important commercial horticultural crop in China due to its nutritional and medicinal value. To date, the economic production of a single predominant cultivar of R. roxburghii(‘Guinong 5') consumes 30 000 hm^2 in China. Here, we characterize the amino acid composition of ‘Guinong 5' and two novel genotypes(AL11, GP6) that prove valuable and deserve wide application. Here, 17 amino acids(acid hydrolysis of proteins) were detected in ‘Guinong 5', AL11 and GP6 fruits, with Glutamine and Asparagine being abundant, and L-cystine being absent. The essential amino acids and total amino acids were the highest in AL11, while Asparagine was most abundant in GP6. For the free amino acid, 18 amino acids and 9 metabolites were detected in ‘Guinong 5', AL11 and GP6 fruits. γ-aminobutyric acid, L-arginine and ornithine were the most abundant in ‘Guinong 5', while phosphoserine and taurine were the highest in AL11. 12Improvement of type 2 diabetes mellitus after gastric cancer surgery:Short-term outcome analysis after gastrectomy显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect of gastrectomy on diabetes control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and early gastric cancer.METHODS:Data from 64 patients with early gastric cancer and type 2 diabetes mellitus were prospectively collected.All patients underwent curative gastrectomy(36 subtotal gastrectomy with gastroduodenostomy,16subtotal gastrectomy with gastrojejunostomy,12 total gastrectomy)and their physical and laboratory data were evaluated before and 3,6 and 12 mo after surgery.RESULTS:Fasting blood glucose(FBS),HbA1c,insulin,C-peptide,and homeostasis model assessment-estimated insulin resistance were significantly improved 3mo after surgery,regardless of operation type,and the significant improvement in all measured values,except HbA1c,was sustained up to 12 mo postoperatively.Approximately 3.1%of patients stopped diabetes medication and had HbA1c<6.0%and FBS<126 mg/dL.54.7%of patients decreased their medication,and had reduced FBS or HbA1c.In multivariate analysis,good diabetic control was not associated with operation type,but was associated with diabetes duration.CONCLUSION:Diabetes improved in more than 50%of patients during the first year after gastric cancer surgery.The degree of diabetes control was related to diabetes duration.Ji Yeong An Yoo Min Kim Min Ah Yun Byeong Hee Jeon Sung Hoon Noh 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,48:11
13Spatial and temporal variations of two cyanobacteria in the mesotrophic Miyun reservoir, China显示文摘Spatial variations in phytoplankton community within a large mesotrophic reservoir(Miyun reservoir, North China) were investigated in relation to variations in physico-chemical properties, nutrient concentrations, temperature and light conditions over a 5 month period in 2009. The dynamics of phytoplankton community was represented by the dominance of cyanobacteria through summer and fall, following with a short term dominance of chlorophyta in late fall, and a relatively high abundance of diatom in October; on the other hand, maximum phytoplankton biomass was recorded in the north shallow region of Miyun reservoir with a higher nutrients level. Particular attention was paid to the impacts of environmental conditions on the growth of two cyanobacteria genera, the toxin-producing Microcystis and the taste & odor-producing Oscillatoria. Microcystis biomass was in general greatly affected by water temperature and mixing depth/local water depth ratio in this reservoir, while the Oscillatoria biomass in the surface and middle layers was greatly affected by total dissolved phosphorus, and that in the bottom layer was related with the Secchi depth/local water depth ratio. 14Advanced oxidation of bromide-containing drinking water: A balance between bromate and trihalomethane formation control显示文摘Addition of H2O2 has been employed to repress bromate formation during ozonation of bromide-containing source water.However,the addition of H2O2 will change the oxidation pathways of organic compounds due to the generation of abundant hydroxyl radicals,which could afect the removal efcacy of trihalomethane precursors via the combination of ozone and biological activated carbon(O3-BAC).In this study,we evaluated the efects of H2O2 addition on bromate formation and trihalomethane formation potential(THMFP)reduction during treatment of bromide-containing(97.6–129.1μg/L)source water by the O3-BAC process.At an ozone dose of 4.2 mg/L,an H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio of over 1.0 was required to maintain the bromate concentration below 10.0μg/L,while a much lower H2O2/O3ratio was sufcient for a lower ozone dose.An H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio below 0.3 should be avoided since the bromate concentration will increase with increasing H2O2 dose below this ratio.However,the addition of H2O2 at an ozone dose of 3.2 mg/L and an H2O2/O3 ratio of 1.0 resulted in a 43% decrease in THMFP removal when compared with the O3-BAC process.The optimum H2O2/O3(g/g) ratio for balancing bromate and trihalomethane control was about 0.7–1.0.Fractionation of organic materials showed that the addition of H2O2 decreased the removal efcacy of the hydrophilic matter fraction of DOC by ozonation and increased the reactivity of the hydrophobic fractions during formation of trihalomethane,which may be the two main reasons responsible for the decrease in THMFP reduction efcacy.Overall,this study clearly demonstrated that it is necessary to balance bromate reduction and THMFP control when adopting an H2O2 addition strategy.Yongjing Wang Jianwei Yu Po Han Jing Sha Tao Li Wei An Juan Liu Min Yang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11:9
15Cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication machining: from mechanism to application显示文摘Cutting fluid plays a cooling-lubrication role in the cutting of metal materials.However,the substantial usage of cutting fluid in traditional flood machining seriously pollutes the environment and threatens the health of workers.Environmental machining technologies,such as dry cutting,minimum quantity lubrication(MQL),and cryogenic cooling technology,have been used as substitute for flood machining.However,the insufficient cooling capacity of MQL with normal-temperature compressed gas and the lack of lubricating performance of cryogenic cooling technology limit their industrial application.The technical bottleneck of mechanical-thermal damage of difficult-to-cut materials in aerospace and other fields can be solved by combining cryogenic medium and MQL.The latest progress of cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication(CMQL)technology is reviewed in this paper,and the key scientific issues in the research achievements of CMQL are clarified.First,the application forms and process characteristics of CMQL devices in turning,milling,and grinding are systematically summarized from traditional settings to innovative design.Second,the cooling-lubrication mechanism of CMQL and its influence mechanism on material hardness,cutting force,tool wear,and workpiece surface quality in cutting are extensively revealed.The effects of CMQL are systematically analyzed based on its mechanism and application form.Results show that the application effect of CMQL is better than that of cryogenic technology or MQL alone.Finally,the prospect,which provides basis and support for engineering application and development of CMQL technology,is introduced considering the limitations of CMQL.Mingzheng LIU Changhe LI Yanbin ZHANG Qinglong AN Min YANG Teng GAO Cong MAO Bo LIU Huajun CAO Xuefeng XU Zafar SAID Sujan DEBNATH Muhammad JAMIL Hafz Muhammad ALI Shubham SHARMA 2021Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2021,16,4:8
16Risk assessment of Giardia in rivers of southern China based on continuous monitoring显示文摘The occurrence and risks of Giardia in China have been unclear to date,which has made it difficult to properly manage source water as well as to create reasonable drinking water standards.The levels of Giardia in river networks of several cities in Zhejiang Province,China were found to be in the range of 0-5 oocysts/10 L in the rainy season in 2008.The mortality due to Giardia infection for people in this region was calculated to be from 0 to 1.95 × 10?8 persons using a conditional probability equation.Based on multiple unboiled water intake routes,the disability-adjusted life years(DALYs) due to Giardia infection for people who consumed conventionally treated water was 0.625(95% CI:0.137-2.05) per 105 persons,with the symptom of hospitalization making the highest contribution to total DALYs(0.56 per 105 persons;95% CI:0.122-1.84).The DALYs decreased to 0.425(95% CI:0.137-2.05) per 105 persons per year for those consuming water treated with advanced technology.These values were lower than the acceptable risk(1.97 × 10?5 DALYs per year).This study revealed the risk of Giardia infection to the people in river networks of Zhejiang Province for the first time,and provides a method to evaluate the risk of Giardia infection.The results are useful for the modification of drinking water quality standards based on cost-benefit analysis.Wei An Dongqing Zhang Shumin Xiao Jianwei Yu Min Yang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2:8
17Comparative analysis between endometrial proteomes of pregnant and non-pregnant ewes during the peri-implantation period显示文摘Background:Early pregnancy failure has a profound impact on both human reproductive health and animal production.2/3 pregnancy failures occur during the peri-implantation period;however,the underlying mechanism(s)remains unclear.Well-organized modification of the endometrium to a receptive state is critical to establish pregnancy.Aberrant endometrial modification during implantation is thought to be largely responsible for early pregnancy loss.Result:In this study,using well-managed recipient ewes that received embryo transfer as model,we compared the endometrial proteome between pregnant and non-pregnant ewes during implantation period.After embryo transfer,recipients were assigned as pregnant or non-pregnant ewes according to the presence or absence of an elongated conceptus at Day 17 of pregnancy.By comparing the endometrial proteomic profiles between pregnant and non-pregnant ewes,we identified 94 and 257 differentially expressed proteins(DEPs) in the endometrial caruncular and intercaruncular areas,respectively.Functional analysis showed that the DEPs were mainly associated with immune response,nutrient transport and utilization,as well as proteasome-mediated proteolysis.Conclusion:These analysis imply that dysfunction of these biological processes or pathways of DEP in the endometrium is highly associated with early pregnancy loss.In addition,many proteins that are essential for the establishment of pregnancy showed dysregulation in the endometrium of non-pregnant ewes.These proteins,as potential candidates,may contribute to early pregnancy loss.Haichao Zhao Linlin Sui Kai Miao Lei An Dong Wang Zhuocheng Hou Rui Wang Min Guo Zhilong Wang Jiqiang Xu Zhonghong Wu Jianhui Tian 2015Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,3:8

19Emission inventory evaluation using observations of regional atmospheric background stations of China显示文摘Any accurate simulation of regional air quality by numerical models entails accurate and up-to-date emissions data for that region.The INTEX-B2006 (I06),one of the newest emission inventories recently popularly used in China and East Asia,has been assessed using the Community Multiscale Air Quality model and observations from regional atmospheric background stations of China.Comparisons of the model results with the observations for the species SO2,NO 2,O 3 and CO from the three regional atmospheric background stations of Shangdianzi,Longfengshan and Linan show that the model can basically capture the temporal characteristics of observations such as the monthly,seasonal and diurnal variance trends.Compared to the other three species,the simulated CO values were grossly underestimated by about two-third or one-half of the observed values,related to the uncertainty in CO emissions.Compared to the other two stations,Shangdianzi had poorer simulations,especially for SO2 and CO,which partly resulted from the site location close to local emission sources from the Beijing area;and the regional inventory used was not capable of capturing the influencing factors of strong regional sources on stations.Generally,the fact that summer gave poor simulation,especially for SO2 and O 3,might partly relate to poor simulations of meteorological fields such as temperature and wind.Xingqin An Zhaobin Sun Weili Lin Min Jin Nan Li 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:7
20Floral traits and pollination system of Zygophyllum xanthoxylum in the managed and wild populations in an arid region of Northwest China显示文摘Zygophyllum xanthoxylum, which belongs to Sarcozygium of Zygophyllaceae, is one of the ecologically important species in Northwest China. In order to understand the pollination system of Z. xanthoxylum, we investigated the following characteristics of this species in the Urat Desert-grassland Research Station in western Inner Mongolia of China: flowering dynamics, pollen viability, pollen limitation, floral visitors and breeding system. The results showed that the flowering period and flowering peak were different between the wild and managed populations, being longer in the managed population. Z. xanthoxylum was pollen-limited, and pollen limitation was more intense in the wild population than in the managed population. Chalicodoma deserticola(Hymenoptera) was found to be the most frequent pollinator in the wild population, while Anthophora fulvitarsis(Hymenoptera) was the most frequent and effective visitor in the managed population.
