2Osteoclast-derived apoptotic bodies couple bone resorption and formation in bone remodeling显示文摘Bone remodeling is precisely coordinated by bone resorption and formation.Apoptotic osteoclasts generate large amounts of apoptotic bodies(ABs)marking the end of the bone resorption phase,whereas the functions of osteoclast-derived ABs remain largely unknown.Here,we identified the molecular profile of ABs derived from osteoclasts at distinct differentiation stages and investigated their corresponding functions.ABs were isolated from apoptotic bone marrow macrophages,preosteoclasts,and mature osteoclasts induced by staurosporine.Proteomic signature analysis with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry suggested marked protein cargo differences among the different ABs.Further bioinformatic analysis showed that the proteomic signatures of the ABs were highly similar to those of their parental cells.Functionally,pOC-ABs induced endothelial progenitor cell differentiation and increased CD31hiEmcnhi endothelial cell formation in a murine bone defect model via their PDGF-BB cargo.mOC-ABs induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and facilitated osteogenesis via RANKL reverse signaling.In summary,we mapped the detailed proteomic landscapes of ABs derived from osteoclasts and showed that their potential biological roles are important in coupling bone formation with resorption during bone remodeling.Qinyu Ma Mengmeng Liang Yutong Wu Fei Luo Zaisong Ma Shiwu Dong Jianzhong Xu Ce Dou 2021Bone Research2021,9,1:8
3Micro RNA profiles and potential regulatory pattern during the early stage of spermatogenesis in mice显示文摘Spermatogenesis is a complicated and poorly understood process that relies on the precise regulation of the self-renewal and differentiation of spermatogonia. In many organisms, micro RNAs(mi RNAs) are involved in multiple developmental processes as critical regulators of transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene silencing. This study investigated the expression pattern of mi RNAs in type B spermatogonia cells(BSc) and primary spermatocytes(PSc) of mice, using a high-throughput small RNA sequencing system. The results revealed that the expression levels of Let-7 family mi RNAs were remarkably high in both cell types. Furthermore, the expression levels of mi R-21, mi R-140-3p, mi R-103, mi R-30 a, mi R-101 b and mi R-99 b were decreased during the transformation from BSc to PSc. These mi RNAs target vital genes that participate in apoptosis, cell proliferation and differentiation, junction assembly and cell cycle regulation. 5Nonlinear relationship between enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium dose and mycophenolic acid exposure in Han kidney transplantation recipients显示文摘The aim of the research was to investigate the pharmacokinetics(PK) of enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium(EC-MPS) by quantification of the active metabolite of mycophenolic acid(MPA)after multiple escalating oral doses in Han kidney transplant recipients. A total of 28 Han postoperative kidney transplant recipients were given a multiple-dose of 540, 720 or 900 mg of EC-MPS two times a day in combination with tacrolimus for 6 days. Blood specimens were collected at each time point from0 to 12 h after EC-MPS administration. MPA plasma concentrations were measured by UPLC–UV. The relationship between the EC-MPS dose and its PK parameters was assessed. In the range from 540 to900 mg, C_(max) and AUC_(0–12h) did not increase with dose escalation. The AUC_(0–12h), C_(max), C_0 and T_(max) for the 540 720 and 900 mg doses were not significantly different, respectively(P 40.05). AUC_0–12 h and C_(max) were increased less than proportionally with increasing EC-MPS dose levels. Inter-individual variability in AUC_(0–12h), C_(max) and C_0 were considerable. 6MoC nanocrystals confined in N-doped carbon nanosheets toward highly selective electrocatalytic nitric oxide reduction to ammonia显示文摘Electrochemical nitric oxide reduction reaction(NORR)to produce ammonia(NH3)under ambient conditions is a promising alternative to the energy and carbon-intensive Haber–Bosch approach,but its performance is still improved.Herein,molybdenum carbides(MoC)nanocrystals confined by nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets are first designed as an efficient and durable electrocatalyst for catalyzing the reduction of NO to NH3 with maximal Faradaic efficiency of 89%±2%and a yield rate of 1,350±15μg·h^(−1)·cm^(−2) at the applied potential of−0.8 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)as well as high stable activity with negligible current density and NH3 yield rate decays over a 30 h continue the test.Moreover,as a proof-of-concept of Zn–NO battery,it achieves a peak power density of 1.8 mW·cm^(−2) and a large NH3 yield rate of 782±10μg·h^(−1)·cm^(−2),which are comparable to the best-reported results.Theoretical calculations reveal that the MoC(111)has a strong electronic interaction with NO molecules and thus lowering the energy barrier of the potential-determining step and suppressing hydrogen evolution kinetics.This work suggests that Mo-based materials are a powerful platform providing great opportunities to explore highly selective and active catalysts for NH3 production.Ge Meng Mengmeng Jin Tianran Wei Qian Liu Shusheng Zhang Xianyun Peng Jun Luo Xijun Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:3

8High-efficiency electrocatalytic NO reduction to NH_(3) by nanoporous VN显示文摘Electrocatalytic NO reduction reaction to generate NH_(3)under ambient conditions offers an attractive alternative to the energy-extensive Haber-Bosch route;however,the challenge still lies in the development of cost-effective and high-performance electrocatalysts.Herein,nanoporous VN film is first designed as a highly selective and stable electrocatalyst for catalyzing reduction of NO to NH_(3)with a maximal Faradaic efficiency of 85%and a peak yield rate of 1.05×10^(-7)mol·cm^(-2)·s^(-1)(corresponding to 5,140.8mg·h^(-1)·mg_(cat).^(-1))at-0.6 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode in acid medium.Meanwhile,this catalyst maintains an excellent activity with negligible current density and NH_(3)yield rate decays over 40 h.Moreover,as a proof-of-concept of Zn-NO battery,it delivers a high power density of 2.0 mW·cm^(-2)and a large NH_(3)yield rate of 0.22×10^(-7)mol·cm^(-2)·s^(-1)(corresponding to 1,077.1mg·h^(-1)·mg_(cat).^(-1)),both of which are comparable to the best-reported results.Theoretical analyses confirm that the VN surface favors the activation and hydrogenation of NO by suppressing the hydrogen evolution.This work highlights that the electrochemical NO reduction is an eco-friendly and energy-efficient strategy to produce NH_(3).Defeng Qi Fang Lv Tianran Wei Mengmeng Jin Ge Meng Shusheng Zhang Qian Liu Wenxian Liu Dui Ma Mohamed SHamdy Jun Luo Xijun Liu 2022Nano Research Energy2022,1,2:2
9A Preliminary Study on Fertilization Biology between Epinephelus coioides(♀) and Epinephelus lanceolatus(♂)显示文摘Crossbreeding between Epinephelus coioides( ♀) and Epinephelus lanceolatus(♂) was conducted by artificial insemination. Fertilized eggs were collected at 0,30,90 s,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 min post-insemination respectively,which were fixed by Smith's solution,embedded by paraffins and stained by H. E. According to the characteristics of Epinephelus coioides eggs,tissue section method was modified. The results showed that the sperms of Epinephelus lanceolatus rapidly entered the eggs of Epinephelus coioides at 30 s- 1min post-insemination. Observation results of tissue sections showed that mature eggs of Epinephelus coioides remained at metaphase of secondary maturation division. The eggs were activated after sperm penetration into the egg. Given its complexity and abstractness, it is critical to validate and evaluate SoSA to ensure requirements have been met.Multiple qualities are discussed in the literature of SoSA evaluation, while research on functionality is scarce. In order to assess SoSA functionality, an extended influence diagram(EID) is developed in this paper. Meanwhile, a simulation method is proposed to elicit the conditional probabilities in EID through designing and executing SoSA. 15Highly dispersed Ag clusters for active and stable hydrogen peroxide production显示文摘The electrosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)from oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)via a two-electron pathway provides an appealing alternative to the energy-intensive anthraquinone route;however,the development of ORR with high selectivity and durability for H2O2 production is still challenging.Herein,we demonstrate an active and stable catalyst,composing of highly dispersed Ag nanoclusters on N-doped hollow carbon spheres(NC-Ag/NHCS),which can effectively reduce O2 molecules into H2O2 with a selectivity of 89%–91%in a potential range from 0.2 to 0.7 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE))in acidic media.Strikingly,NC-Ag/NHCS achieve a mass activity of 27.1 A·g^(−1) and a yield rate of 408 mmol·gcat.^(−1)·h^(−1) at 0.7 V,both of which are comparable with the best-reported results.Furthermore,NC-Ag/NHCS enable catalyzing H2O2 production with a stable current density over 48-h electrolysis and only about 9.8%loss in selectivity after 10,000 cycles.Theoretical analyses indicate that Ag nanoclusters can contribute more electrons to favor the protonation of adsorbed O2,thus leading to a high H2O2 selectivity.This work confirms the great potential of metal nanocluster-based materials for H2O2 electrosynthesis under ambient conditions.Mengmeng Jin Wei Liu Jiaqiang Sun Xinzhong Wang Shusheng Zhang Jun Luo Xijun Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:1
16The Residual Strain Measurement of Thin Conductive Metal Wire after Electrical Failure with SEM Moir显示文摘In this study, the residual strain of a thin conductive metal wire on a polymer substrate after electrical failure is measured with SEM moir′e. Focused ion beam(FIB) milling is applied to fabricate micron moir′e gratings on the surfaces of constantan wires and the random phase shifting technique is used to process moir′e fringes. The virtual strain method is briefly introduced and used to calculate the real strain of specimens. In order to study the influence of a defect on the electrical failure of the constantan wire, experiments were conducted on two specimens, one with a crack, while the other one without any crack. By comparing the results, we found that the defect makes the critical beam current of electrical failure decrease. In addition, the specimens were subjected to compression after electrical failure, in agreement with the observed crack closure of the specimen. 20“Xanthene” is a premium bridging group for xanthenoid dyes显示文摘Novel xanthenoid dyes by replacing the central oxygen atom of the xanthene dyes with less electronrich bridging groups have been intensively sought after primarily for their long spectral wavelengths.However, the new scaffolds are likely prone to nucleophilic attack at their central methane carbon, as the result of the reduced electron density of the fluorochromic scaffolds. We envisage that the bridging group may be harnessed to sterically shield the central methane carbon from incoming nucleophiles and render high stability and synthesized xantheno-xanthene dyes.
