Methanation of carbon dioxide on Ni/ZrO_2-Al_2O_3 catalysts:Effects of ZrO_2 promoter and preparation method of novel ZrO_2-Al_2O_3 carrier显示文摘The novel nickel-based catalysts with a nickel content of 12 wt% were prepared with the zirconia-alumina composite as the supports. The new carriers, ZrO2 improved alumina, were synthesized by three methods, i.e., impregnation-precipitation, co-precipitation, and impregnation method. The catalytic properties of these catalysts were investigated in the methanation of carbon dioxide, and the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) techniques. The new catalysts showed higher catalytic activity and better stability than Ni/γ-Al2O3. Furthermore, as a support for new nickel catalyst, the ZrO2-Al2O3 composite prepared by the impregnation-precipitation method was more efficient than the other supports in the methanation of carbon dioxide. The highly dispersed zirconium oxide on the surface of γ-Al2O3 inhibited the formation of nickel aluminate-like phase, which was responsible for the better dispersion of Ni species and easier reduction of NiO species, leading to the enhanced catalytic performance of corresponding catalyst.Mengdie Cai Jie Wen Wei Chu Xueqing Cheng Zejun Li 2011Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,3:33
Acute cerebrovascular disease following COVID-19: a single center, retrospective, observational study显示文摘Background and purpose COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Apart from respiratory complications, acute cerebrovascular disease(CVD)has been observed in some patients with COVID-19.Therefore,we described the clinical characteristics, laboratory features, treatment and outcomes of CVD complicating SARS-CoV-2 infection.Materials and methods Demographic and clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, treatments and clinical outcomes were collected and analysed.Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of patients with COVID-19 with or without new-onset CVD were compared. Results Of 219 patients with COVID-19,10(4.6%)developed acute ischaemic stroke and 1(0.5%)had intracerebral haemorrhage.COVID-19 with new onset of CVD were significantly older(75.7±10.8 years vs 52.1±15.3 years,p<0.001),more likely to present with severe COVID-19(81.8%vs 39.9%,p<0.01)and were more likely to have cardiovascular risk factors, including hypertension, diabetes and medical history of CVD(all p<0.05).In addition, they were more likely to have increased inflammatory response and hypercoagulable state as reflected in C reactive protein(51.1(1.3-127.9)vs 12.1(0.1-212.0)mg/L,p<0.05)and D-dimer(6.9(0.3-20.0)vs 0.5(0.1-20.0)mg/L,p<0.001).Of 10 patients with ischemic stroke;6 received antiplatelet treatment with aspirin or clopidogrel;and 3 of them died. The other four patients received anticoagulant treatment with enoxaparin and 2 of them died.As of 24 March 2020,six patients with CVD died(54.5%).Conclusion Acute CVD is not uncommon in COVID-19.Our findings suggest that older patients with risk factors are more likely to develop CVD.The development of CVD is an important negative prognostic factor which requires further study to identify optimal management strategy to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.Yanan Li Man Li Mengdie Wang Yifan Zhou Jiang Chang Ying Xian David Wang Ling Mao Huijuan Jin Bo Hu 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,3:22
FHY3 and FAR1 Integrate Light Signals with the miR156-SPL Module-Mediated Aging Pathway to Regulate Arabidopsis Flowering显示文摘In response to competition for light from their neighbors,shade-intolerant plants flower precociously to ensure reproductive success and survival. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this key developmental switch are not well understood. Here,we show that a pair of Arabidopsis transcription factors essential for phytochrome A signaling,FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL3(FHY3)and FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE1(FAR1),regulate flowering time by integrating environmental light signals with the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway. We found that FHY3 and FAR1 directly interact with three flowering-promoting SQUAMOSA-PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)transcription factors,SPL3,SPL4,and SPL5,and inhibit their binding to the promoters of several key flowering regulatory genes, including FRUITFUL(FUL),LEAFY(LFY),APETALA1(AP1),and MIR172C,thus downregulating their transcript levels and delaying flowering.Under simulated shade conditions, levels of SPL3/4/5 proteins increase, whereas levels of FHY3 and FAR1 proteins decline, thus releasing SPL3/4/5 from FHY3/FAR1 inhibition to allow activation of FUL,LFY,AP1,and MIR172C and, consequently, early flowering.Taken together, these results unravel a novel mechanism whereby plants regulate flowering time by integrating environmental cues(such as light conditions)and an internal developmental program(the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway).Yurong Xie Qin Zhou Yongping Zhao Quanquan Li Yang Liu Mengdi Ma Baobao Wang Rongxin Shen Zhigang Zheng Haiyang Wang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,3:8
DELLA proteins interact with FLC to repress flowering transition显示文摘Flowering is a highly orchestrated and extremely ct critical process in a plant's life cycle. Previous study has ademonstrated that SUPPRESSOR OF OVEREXPRESSION OF pCONSTANS 1(SOC1) and FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT) integrate m-I the gibberellic acid(GA) signaling pathway and vernalization higpathway in regulating flowering time, but detailed molecular Hmechanisms remain largely unclear. In GA signaling pathway,DELLA proteins are a group of master transcriptional regulators, while in vernalization pathway FLOWERING LOCUS C(FLC) is a core transcriptional repressor that down-regulates the expression of SOC1 and FT. Here, we report that DELLA proteins interact with FLC in vitro and in vivo, and the LHRI domains of DELLAs and the C-terminus of MADS domain of FLC are required for these interactions.Phenotypic and gene expression analysis showed that mutation of FLC reduces while over-expression of FLC enhances the GA response in the flowering process. Further,DELLA-FLC interactions promote the repression ability of FLC on its target genes. In summary, these findings report that the interaction between MADS box transcription factor FLC and GRAS domain regulator DELLAs may integrate various signaling inputs in flowering time control, and shed new light on the regulatory mechanism both for FLC and DELLAs in regulating gene expression.Mingzhe Li Fengying An Wenyang Li Mengdi Ma Ying Feng Xing Zhang Hongwei Guo 2016Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2016,58,7:7
No expenditure difference among patients with liver cancer at stageⅠ-ⅣV:Findings from a multicenter cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Objective:The number of liver cancer patients in China accounts for more than half of the world. However,China currently lacks national, multicenter economic burden data, and meanwhile, measuring the differences among different subgroups will be informative to formulate corresponding policies in liver cancer control. Thus, the aim of the study was to measure the economic burden of liver cancer by various subgroups. Methods:A hospital-based,multicenter and cross-sectional survey was conducted during 2012・2014,covering 39 hospitals and 21 project sites in 13 provinces across China. The questionnaire covers clinical information, sociology, expenditure, and related variables. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2014 values. Results:A total of 2,223 liver cancer patients were enrolled,of whom 59.61%were late-stage cases(III-IV),and 53.8%were hepatocellular carcinoma. The average total expenditure per liver cancer patient was estimated as 53,220 CNY,including 48,612 CNY of medical expenditures(91.3%)and 4,608 CNY of non-medical expenditures(8.7%).The average total expenditures in stage I,H,m and stage IV were 52,817 CNY,50,877 CNY,50,678 CNY and 54,089 CNY(P>0.05),respectively.Non-medical expenditures including additional meals, additional nutrition care, transportation, accommodation and hired informal nursing were 1,453 CNY,839 CNY,946 CNY,679 CNY and 200 CNY,respectively. The one-year out-of-pocket expenditure of a newly diagnosed patient was 24,953 CNY,and 77.2%of the patients suffered an unmanageable financial burden.Multivariate analysis showed that overall expenditure differed in almost all subgroups(P<0.05),except for sex, clinical stage, and pathologic type. Conclusions:There was no difference in treatment expenditure for liver cancer patients at different clinical stages, which suggests that maintaining efforts on treatment efficacy improvement is important but not enough. To fiirtherly reduce the overall economic burden from liver cancer, more effort should be given to primary and secondary prevention strategies.Haike Lei Lin Lei Jufang Shi Yongzhong Wu Ling Liang Huiyao Huang Mei He Fangzhou Bai Maomao Cao Hui Qiu Yuting Wang Chengcheng Liu Jia Du Hong Wang Yan Zhang Mengdi Cao Ji Peng Ni Li Chunfeng Qu Min Dai Wanqing Chen Jie He 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,4:7
Characterizing the antibiotic resistance genes in a river catchment: Influence of anthropogenic activities显示文摘Previous studies on environmental antibiotics resistance genes(ARGs) have focused on the pollution sources such as wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture and livestock farms, etc. Few of them had addressed this issue in a regional scale such as river catchment. Hence, the occurrence and abundances of 23 ARGs were investigated in surface water samples collected from 38 sites which located from the river source to estuary of the Beijiang River.Among them, 11 ARGs were frequently detected in this region and 5 ARGs(sul I, sul II, tet B,tet C, and tet W) were selected for their distribution pattern analysis. The abundances of the selected ARGs were higher in the upstream(8.70 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) and downstream areas(3.17 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) than those in the midstream areas(1.23 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA), which was positively correlated to the population density and number of pollution sources. Pollution sources of ARGs along the Beijiang River not only had a great impact on the abundances and diversity, but also on the distribution of specific ARGs in the water samples. Both sul I and sul II were likely originated from aquaculture farms and animal farms, tet W gene was possibly associated with the mining/metal melting industry and the electric waste disposal and tet C gene was commonly found in the area with multiple pollution sources. However, the abundance of tet B was not particularly related to anthropogenic impacts. These findings highlight the influence of pollution sources and density of population on the distribution and dissemination of ARGs at a regional scale.Haoyu Jiang Renjun Zhou Ying Yang Baowei Chen Zhineng Cheng Mengdi Zhang Jun Li Gan Zhang Shichun Zou 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,7:7
NLP1 reciprocally regulates nitrate inhibition of nodulation through SUNN-CRA2 signaling in Medicago truncatula显示文摘Most legume plants can associate with diazotrophic soil bacteria called rhizobia, resulting in new root organs called nodules that enable N2 fixation.Nodulation is an energy-consuming process, and nodule number is tightly regulated by independent systemic signaling pathways controlled by CLE/SUNN and CEP/CRA2.Moreover,nitrate inhibits legume nodulation via local and systemic regulatory pathways. In Medicago truncatula,NLP1 plays important roles in nitrate-induced inhibition of nodulation, but the relationship between systemic and local pathways in mediating nodulation inhibition by nitrate is poorly understood. In this study,we found that nitrate induces CLE35 expression in an NLP1-dependent manner and that NLP1 binds directly to the CLE35 promoter to activate its expression.Grafting experiments revealed that the systemic control of nodule number involves negative regulation by SUNN and positive regulation by CRA2 in the shoot, and that NLP1’s control of the inhibition of rhizobial infection, nodule development, and nitrogenase activity in response to nitrate is determined by the root.Unexpectedly, grafting experiments showed that loss of CRA2 in the root increases nodule number at inhibitory nitrate levels, probably because of CEP1/2 upregulation in the cra2 mutants, suggesting that CRA2 exerts active negative feedback regulation in the root.Zhenpeng Luo Jie-shun Lin Yali Zhu Mengdi Fu Xiaolin Li Fang Xie 2021Plant Communications2021,2,3:5
CO_2 absorption with ionic liquids at elevated temperatures显示文摘CO_2 capture with ionic liquids(ILs) has attracted many attentions, and most works focused on absorption ability at ambient temperatures, while seldom research was concerned at elevated temperatures. This not only limits the CO_2 absorption application at elevated temperature, but also the determination of the operation condition of the CO_2 desorption generally occurring at higher temperature. This work mainly reported CO_2 solubilities in ILs at elevated temperatures and related properties were also provided. 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([CnMIm][Tf_2N]) ILs were selected as physical absorbents for CO_2 capture in this work due to their relative higher CO_2 absorption capacities and good thermal stabilities. The long-term stability tests showed that [CnMIm][Tf_2N] is thermally stable at 393.15 K for long time. CO_2 solubilities in [CnMIm][Tf_2N] were systematically determined at temperatures from 353.15 K to 393.15 K. It demonstrated that CO_2 solubility obviously increases with the increase of pressure while slightly decreases with increase of temperature. As the length of alkyl chain on the cation increases, CO_2 solubility in ILs increases. Additionally, the thermodynamic properties including the Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, and entropy of CO_2 were also calculated.Lu Bai Dawei Shang Mengdie Li Zhongde Dai Liyuan Deng Xiangping Zhang 2017Journal of Energy Chemistry2017,26,5:5
Overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins are responsible for the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor in breast cancer that can be reversed by PI3K/mTOR inhibitors显示文摘CDK4/6 inhibitors are the standard treatment in advanced HR+/HER2-breast cancer patients.Nevertheless, the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors is inevitable and the strategies to overcome resistance are of great interest. Here,we show that the palbociclibresistant breast cancer cells expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins because of upregulated protein synthesis.Silencing Cyclin D1 or CDK4 led to cell cycle arrest while silencing Cyclin E1 or CDK2 restored the sensitivity to palbociclib.Furthermore,PI3K/mTOR pathway was hyper-activated in palbociclib-resistant cells, leading to more phosphorylated 4E-BP1 and higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 translation.Targeting PI3K/mTOR pathway with a specific PI3Kαinhibitor(BYL719)or an mTOR inhibitor(everolimus)reduced the protein levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4,and restored the sensitivity to palbociclib. The tumor samples expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1,CDK4,p-AKT and p-4E-BP1 after progression on palbociclib treatment. In conclusion, our findings suggest that overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins lead to the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors are able to restore the sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors, which provides the biomarker and rationale for the combinational use of CDK4/6 inhibitors and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors after CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance in breast cancer.Zijie Cai Jingru Wang Yudong Li Qianfeng Shi Liang Jin Shunying Li Mengdi Zhu Qi Wang Lok Lam Wong Wang Yang Hongna Lai Chang Gong Yandan Yao Yujie Liu Jun Zhang Herui Yao Qiang Liu 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,1:4
Reservoir characteristics and well-logging evaluation of the Lower Cambrian shales in southeast Chongqing, China显示文摘To accurately identify the reservoir characteristics and main controlling factors of the Cambrian Niutitang black shale in the southeast Chongqing,a series of systematic measurements were conducted on core samples from Well Yuke-1 and Well Youke-1.The measurements include clay mineral analysis,XRD analysis, petrophysical properties, specific surface area, pore diameter and TOC,as well as R_(o) and maceral compositions. The Niutitang shale reservoir contains detrital minerals and clay minerals averagely of 51.34%and 32.74%,respectively.The average effective porosity and permeability are 1.2%and 8.0×10^(-3)mD,respectively,typically of ultra-low porosity and permeability.Mesopores are dominant, accounting for approximately 73%of the total pore volume. The average BET specific surface area is 7.75m^(2)/g and the average pore diameter is 5.3nm.The average TOC is 2.29%and the average R_(o) is 3.12%,indicating that the organic matter is in over-maturity stage.Statistical analyses of the measurements show that the micropore volume is positively correlated with TOC but negatively correlated with the total content of clay minerals;the mesopore volume is positively correlated with TOC,the total content of clay minerals and the content of carbonate minerals;the macropore volume is positively correlated with TOC and the content of carbonate minerals, weakly positively correlated with the content of detrital minerals but negatively correlated with the total content of clay minerals. The porosity and TOC of the Niutitang shale are computed using the conventional well-logging method for the Yuke-1 and Youke-1 wells, and the porosities are quite consistent with the core analysis resultsr, but in the shallow reservoir that contains no oil and gas,the TOC exhibits no correlation with the core analysis results.Xiaomeng Cao Bingsong Yu Xintong Li Mengdi Sun Ling Zhang 2016Petroleum Research2016,1,2:3
Deficient Rnf43 potentiates hyperactive Kras-mediated pancreatic preneoplasia initiation and malignant transformation显示文摘Background:Largely due to incidental detection, asymptomatic pancreatic cystic le-sions(PCLs)have become prevalent in recent years.Among them, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN)infrequently advances to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).Conservative surveillance versus surgical intervention is a difficult clinical decision for both caregivers and PCL patients.Because RNF43 loss-of-function mutations and KRAS gain-of-function mutations concur in a subset of IPMN and PDAC,their biological significance and therapeutic potential should be elucidated. Methods:Pancreatic Rnf43 knockout and Kras activated mice(Rnf43^(−/−);Kras^(G12D))were generated to evaluate their clinical significance in pancreatic pre-neoplastic initiation and malignant transformation. Results:Loss of Rnf43 potentiated the occurrence and severity of IPMN and PDAC in oncogenic Kras mice. The Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway was activated in pan-creatic Kras^(G12D)and Rnf43 knockout mice and the PORCN inhibitor LGK974 blocked pancreatic IPMN initiation and progression to PDAC accordingly.Conclusions:Rnf43 is a tumor suppressor in the prevention of pancreatic malignant transformation. This genetically reconstituted autochthonous pancreatic Rnf43^(−/−);Kras^(G12D)preclinical cancer model recapitulates the pathological process from pancreatic cyst to cancer in humans and can be treated with inhibitors of Wnt/β-catenin signaling.Since the presence of RNF43 and KRAS mutations in IPMNs predicts future development of advanced neoplasia from PCLs,patients with these genetic anomalies warrant surveillance,surgery,and/or targeted therapeutics such as Wnt/β-catenin inhibitors.Xian Zhou Zhichao Sun Mengdi Zhang Xiaoyu Qu Shuhui Yang Lianmei Wang Yanling Jing Li Li Weiwei Deng Fangming Liu Jin Di Jie Chen Jian Wu Hongbing Zhang 2022Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,1:3
Barley:a potential cereal for producing healthy and functional foods显示文摘Barley is the fourth largest cereal crop in the world. It is mainly used for feeding, beer production and food.Barley is receiving more attention from both agricultural and food scientists because of its special chemical composition and health benefits. In comparison with other cereal crops, including wheat, rice and maize, barley grains are rich in dietary fiber(such asβ-glucan)and tocols, which are beneficial to human health. It is well proved that diets rich in those chemicals can provide protection against hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.Barley has been widely recognized to have great potential as a healthy or functional food.In this review,we present information about studies on the phys-ical structure of the barley grain and the distribution of its main chemical components, nutrient and functional composition of barley grain and their health benefits, and the approaches of improving and utilizing the nutrient and functional chemicals in barley grain. With the development of processing technologies, functional components in barley grains,especiallyβ-glucan,can be efficiently extracted and concentrated. Moreover, nutrient and functional components in barley grains can be efficiently improved by precise breeding and agronomic approaches. The review high-lights the great potential of barley used as healthy and functional foods, and may be instructive for better utilization of barley in food processing.La Geng Mengdi Li Guoping Zhan Lingzhen Ye 2022Food Quality and Safety2022,6,2:3
Nanoscale engineering of conducting polymers for emerging applications in soft electronics显示文摘Soft electronics featuring exceptional mechanical compliance and excellent electrical performance hold great promise for applications in soft robotics, artificial intelligence,bio-integrated electronics, and wearable electronics.Intrinsically stretchable and conductive materials are crucial for soft electronics, enabling large-area and scalable fabrication, high device density, and good mechanical compliance.Conducting polymers are inherently stretchable and conductive. They can be precisely synthesized from vastly available building blocks, and thus they provide a fruitful platform for fabricating soft electronics. However, amorphous bulk-phase conducting polymers typically exhibit poor mechanical and electrical characteristics.Consequently,it is highly desirable to develop novel engineering approaches to overcome the intrinsic limitations of conducting polymers. In recent years, numerous engineering strategies have been developed to enhance their performances in soft electronic devices via constructing various nanostructures. In this review,we first summarize several unique methodologies to fabricate conducting polymer-based nanostructures. We then discuss how nanoscale engineering approaches can improve several crucial parameters, including electrical conductivity, stretchability, sensitivity, and self-healing property of conducting polymers. Moreover,we also discuss device-level integration of conducting polymer-based nanostructures with other materials for applications in skin-inspired electronics and bio-integrated electronics. Finally,we provide perspectives on challenges and future directions in engineering nanostructured conducting polymers for soft electronics.Tao Wang Yiwen Bao Mengdi Zhuang Jiacheng Li Juncheng Chen Hangxun Xu 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:3
Effects of phosvitin phosphopeptide-Ca complex prepared by efficient enzymatic hydrolysis on calcium absorption and bone deposition of mice显示文摘Phosvitin(PV)was treated with high-temperature,mild pressure(HTMP),and enzyme combination, and then phosvitin phosphopeptides-calcium(PPP-Ca)complexes were prepared. The low-calcium specific pathogen free-Kunming(SPF-KM)mice were used to determine the effect of PPP-Ca complexes on intestinal calcium absorption and their utilization for bone formation. The serum calcium content was the highest with the HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca treatment(2.19 mmol/L),and it significantly down-regulated the abnormal elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase(AKP)caused by calcium deficiency. The low-calcium control group had the lowest calcium deposited to the femur(80.41 mg/g)and the lowest femur bone mineral density(BMD)(0.17 g/cm^(3)),while HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca significantly improved bone calcium content(94.33 mg/g)and BMD(0.29 g/cm^(3)).The micro-computed tomography(MCT)images showed that the femur with the normal control,PV-Ca,and HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca treatments had a more compact, complete, and thicker trabecular network than the low-calcium and CaCl_(2)treatments.These results indicated that the organic calcium(HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca)promoted calcium absorption and bone deposition, and the effect of HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca was better than the inorganic CaCl_(2).Mengdie Zhao Dong Uk Ahn Songming Li Wei Liu Shengwei Yi Xi Huang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,6:3
GOLM1 restricts colitis and colon tumorigenesis by ensuring Notch signaling equilibrium in intestinal homeostasis显示文摘Intestinal epithelium serves as the first barrier against the infections and injuries that mediate colonic inflammation.Colorectal cancer is often accompanied with chronic inflammation.Differed from its well-known oncogenic role in many malignancies,we present here that Golgi membrane protein 1(G0LM1,also referred to as GP73)suppresses colorectal tumorigenesis via maintenance of intestinal epithelial barrier.G0LM1 deficiency in mice conferred susceptibility to mucosal inflammation and colitis-induced epithelial damage, which consequently promoted colon cancer.Mechanistically, depletion of G0LM1 in intestinal epithelial cells(lECs)led to aberrant Notch activation that interfered with IEC differentiation, maturation, and lineage commitment in mice.Pharmacological inhibition of Notch pathway alleviated epithelial lesions and restrained pro-tumorigenic inflammation in G0LM1-deficient mice.Therefore,G0LM1 maintains IEC homeostasis and protects against colitis and colon tumorigenesis by modulating the equilibrium of Notch signaling pathway.Yang Pu Ya Song Mengdi Zhang Caifeng Long Jie Li Yanan Wang Yinzhe Xu Fei Pan Na Zhao Xinyu Zhang Yanan Xu Jianxin Cui Hongying Wang Yan Li Yong Zhao Di Jin Hongbing Zhang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,5:2

Antioxidant and ACE inhibitory activities of peptides prepared from adzuki bean by semi-solid enzymatic hydrolysis显示文摘In this study, adzuki bean peptides were prepared by semi-solid enzymatic hydrolysis(SEH)and their antioxidant and Angiotensin-I-converting enzyme(ACE)inhibitory activities and internal absorption were studied.By modifying different enzymatic hydrolysis times and enzyme additions, the optimal enzymatic hydrolysis condition for SEH could be obtained as adzuki bean powder:water=4:1(w/w),alcalase:neutrase=2:1(w/w),enzyme addition 3.75%(w/w),4 h enzymatic hydrolysis at 50℃ and pH=8.Within these hydrolysis conditions, the content of adzuki bean peptides was 11.37%,the OH−scavenging rate of 1 mg/mL peptides was 72.75%,the total antioxidant capacity was 0.88±0.02 mmol/L FeSO4,the ACE inhibition rate was 77.49%.In vivo absorption test proved that the peptides prepared by SEH were absorbed faster and exhibited higher antioxidant activity compared with liquid enzymatic hydrolysis. In conclusion, the process of SEH can improve not only the efficiency of hydrolysis, but also the antioxidant and ACE inhibitory activity as well as the internal absorption of adzuki bean peptides.Mengdi Cao Wenhui Li He Li Jian Zhang Yu Liu Xinqi Liu 2022Food Bioscience2022,47,3:2
Zn/Sr dual ions-collagen co-assembly hydroxyapatite enhances bone regeneration through procedural osteo-immunomodulation and osteogenesis显示文摘The immune microenvironment induced by biomaterials played vital roles in bone regeneration.Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its ion-substituted derivates represent a large class of core inorganic materials for bone tissue engineering.Although ion substitution was proved to be a potent way to grant HA more biological functions, few studies focused on the immunomodulatory properties of ion-doped HA.Herein,to explore the potential osteoimmunomodulatory effects of ion-doped HA,zinc and strontium co-assembled into HA through a collagen template biomimetic way(ZnSr-Col-HA)was successfully achieved. It was found that ZnSr-Col-HA could induce a favorable osteo-immune microenvironment by stimulating macrophages.Furthermore,ZnSr-Col-HA demonstrated a procedural promoting effect on osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)in vitro.Specifically, the osteo-immune microenvironment acted as a dominant factor in promoting osteogenic gene expressions at the early stage through OSM signal pathway.Whereas the direct stimulating effects on BMSCs by Zn^(2+)/Sr^(2+) were more effectively at the later stage with Nfatc1/Maf and Wnt signals activated. In vivo study confirmed strong promoting effects of ZnSr-Col-HA on critical-sized cranial defect repair. The current study indicated that such a combined biomaterial design philosophy of dual ion-doping and biomimetic molecular co-assembly to endow HA applicable osteoimmunomodulatory characteristics might bring up a new cutting-edge concept for bone regeneration study.Zhenyu Zhong Xiaodan Wu Yifan Wang Mengdie Li Yan Li XuLong Liu Xin Zhang Ziyang Lan Jianglin Wang Yingying Du Shengmin Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,4:2
QTL mapping of quality traits in peanut using whole-genome resequencing显示文摘Oil and protein content and fatty acid composition are quality traits in peanut.Elucidating the genetic mechanisms underlying these traits may help researchers to obtain improved cultivars by molecular breeding.Whole-genome resequencing of a recombinant inbred population of 318 lines was performed to construct a high-density linkage map and identify QTL for peanut quality. The map, containing 4561 bin markers, covered 2032 c M with a mean marker density of 0.45 c M.A total of 110 QTL for oil and protein content, and fatty acid composition were mapped on the 18 peanut chromosomes. The QTL q A05.1 was detected in four environments and showed a major phenotypic effect on the contents of oil, protein, and six fatty acids. The genomic region spanned by q A05.1,corresponding to a physical interval of approximately 1.5 Mb,contains two SNPs polymorphic between the parents that could cause missense mutations. The two SNP sites were employed as KASP markers and validated using lines with extremely high and low oil contents. These sites may be useful in the marker-assisted breeding of peanut cultivars with high oil contents.Ziqi Sun Feiyan Qi Hua Liu Li Qin Jing Xu Lei Shi Zhongxin Zhang Lijuan Miao Bingyan Huang Wenzhao Dong Xiao Wang Mengdi Tian Jingjing Feng Ruifang Zhao Xinyou Zhang Zheng Zheng 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,1:2
Clinical time course of COVID-19, its neurological manifestation and some thoughts on its management显示文摘Coronavirus disease-2019(COVID‐19)has become a global pandemic.COVID-19 runs its course in two phases, the initial incubation phase and later clinical symptomatic phase.Patients in the initial incubation phase often have insidious clinical symptoms, but they are still highly contagious. At the later clinical symptomatic phase, the immune system is fully activated and the disease may enter the severe infection stage in this phase.Although many patients are known for their respiratory symptoms, they had neurological symptoms in their first 1-2 days of clinical symptomatic phase, and ischaemic stroke occurred 2 weeks after the onset of the clinical symptomatic phase. The key is to prevent a patient from progressing to this severe infection from mild infection. We are sharing our experience on prevention and management of COVID-19.Yifan Zhou Wei Li David Wang Ling Mao Huijuan Jin Yanan Li Candong Hong Shengcai Chen Jiang Chang Quanwei He Mengdie Wang Bo Hu 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2:2
