1Genetic contribution of foreign germplasm to elite Chinese soybean (Glycine max) cultivars revealed by SSR markers显示文摘Simple sequence repeats (SSR) marker analysis, combined with pedigree analysis, was car- ried out to trace the genetic constitutes of Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25 in assessing the contribution of for- eign germplasm to those elite cultivars. The overall goal is to accumulate information for further effective utilization of foreign germplasm in Chinese soybean breeding programs. SSR clustering results indicated that the genetic base of elite Chinese soybean culti- vars, including Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25, were broadened and enhanced via introduction of Amsoy from the U.S. and Shishengchangye from Japan. The pedigree analysis showed a very high coefficient of parentage between Shishengchangye and Hefeng 25, between Shishengchangye and Suinong 14, and between Amsoy and Suinong 14. The genetic simi- larity between Suinong 14 and Hefeng 25 was 60.58%. Among 20 linkage groups, more genomic regions were transferred from Hefeng 25 to Suinong 14 in linkage group (LG) I, L and C2 than other LGs. Among the unique alleles of foreign parents, five specific loci in Amsoy were transferred to Suinong 14, and three loci from Shishengchangye to Suinong 14. Some SSR loci were proved to be correlated with phenotypes: two loci for seed size introgressed from Shishengchangye to Suinong 14, and one locus forprotein content from Amsoy to Suinong 14. 3Nanostructured N-doped carbon materials derived from expandable biomass with superior electrocatalytic performance towards V^(2+)/V^(3+) redox reaction for vanadium redox flow battery显示文摘Vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB)is one of the most promising large-scale energy storage systems,which ranges from kilowatt to megawatt.Nevertheless,poor electrochemical activity of electrode for two redox couples still restricts the extensive applications of VRFB.Compared with V^(2+)/V^(3+)redox reaction,V^(2+)/V^(3+)reaction plays a more significant role in voltage loss of VRFB owing to slow heterogeneous electron transfer rate.Herein,N-doped carbon materials derived from scaphium scaphigerum have been developed as negative electrocatalyst by hydrothermal carbonization and high-temperature nitridation treatments.The undoped carbon material hardly has electrocatalytic ability for V^(2+)/V^(3+)reaction.Based on this,N-doped carbon materials with urea as nitrogen source exhibit excellent electrocatalytic properties.And the material nitrided at 850°C(SSC/N-850)exhibits the best performance among those from700 to 1000℃.SSC/N-850 can accelerate the electrode process including V^(2+)/V^(3+)reaction and mass transfer of active ions due to the large reaction place,more active sites,and good hydrophilicity.The effect of catalyst on comprehensive performance of cell was evaluated.SSC/N-850 can improve the charge-discharge performance greatly.Utilization of SSC/N-850 can lessen the electrochemical polarization of cell,further resulting in increased discharge capacity and energy efficiency.Discharge capacity and energy efficiency increase by 81.5%and 9.8%by using SSC/N-850 as negative catalyst at 150 m A cm^(-2),respectively.Our study reveals that the developed biomass-derived carbon materials are the low-cost and efficient negative electrocatalyst for VRFB system.Yingqiao Jiang Mengchen Du Gang Cheng Peng Gao Tingting Dong Jing Zhou Xiaojian Feng Zhangxing He Yuehua Li Lei Dai Wei Meng Ling Wang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,8:3
4Experimental results for the vapor-liquid equilibria of 0(formaldehyde+1,3,5-trioxane+methanol+salt+water)systems and comparison with predictions显示文摘The salt effect on the vaporliquid phase equilibrium(VLE)of solvent mixtures is of significant interest in the industrial production of 1,3,5trioxane.Experimental data for the VLE of quinary systems(formaldehyde+1,3,5trioxane+methanol+salt+water)and their ternary subsystems(formaldehyde+salt+water),(1,3,5trioxane+salt+water),and(methanol+salt+water)were systematic measured under atmospheric pressure.The salts considered included KBr,NaNO_(3),and CaCl_(2).The extended UNIFAC model was used to describe the VLE of the saltcontaining reactive mixtures.The model parameters were determined from the experimental VLE data of ternary systems or obtained from the literature,and then were used to predict the VLE of systems(1,3,5trioxane+KBr+water),(methanol+KBr+water),(formaldehyde+KBr+water),and(formaldehyde+1,3,5trioxane+methanol+salt+water)with salt=KBr,NaNO_(3),and CaCl_(2).The predicted results showed good agreements with the measured results.Furthermore,the model was used to uncover the salt effect on the VLE of these multisolvent reactive systems.Xianming Zhang Mengchen Li Yufeng Hu Zhichang Liu Shuqin Mo 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,4:2

6Leather for flexible multifunctional bio-based materials: a review显示文摘Nowadays, diverse leather usage conditions and increasing demands from consumers challenge the leather industry. Traditional leather manufacturing is facing long-term challenges, including low-value threshold, confined applica-tion fields, and environmental issues. Leather inherits all the biomimetic properties of natural skin such as flexibility, sanitation, cold resistance, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and other cross-domain functions, achieving unre-mitting attention in multi-functional bio-based materials. Series of researches have been devoted to creating and developing leather-based flexible multi-functional bio-materials, including antibacterial leather, conductive leather, flame-retardant leather, self-cleaning leather, aromatic leather, and electromagnetic shielding leather. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the commonly used leather-based functional materials. Furthermore, the possible challenges for the development of functional leathers are proposed, and expected development directions of leather-based functional materials are discussed. 7Fatal spontaneous rupture of common iliac artery associated with fibromuscular dysplasia显示文摘A previously healthy 25-year-old man with no known risk factors was presented at the emergency room with a 3 h history of abdominal and loin pain.Physical examination and lab data showed no specific findings except tenderness,slight white cell count elevation and decreased haemoglobin level.The patient’s condition deteriorated over the following hours and he died despite resuscitation attempts.Autopsy revealed a 2.5-cm longitudinal tear in the intima of the right common iliac artery,which formed a thrombosed false lumen extending to the abdominal aorta proximally and to the left common iliac artery.Histopathologic examination revealed the characteristic changes of fibromuscular dysplasia(FMD).FMD involving the common iliac arteries is extremely rare;only six cases have been reported previously,and only two of those included forensic findings.The presented case is the first case of FMD with intimal tearing in the right common iliac artery,with propagation to the left common iliac artery and abdominal aorta.When a previously healthy young adult without hypertension or other risk factors presents with acute abdominal and loin pain,systemic vascular disease should be on the list of differential diagnoses.Careful and complete evaluation of multiple arteries can be critical.Xiang Xu Mengchen Tsai Ning Xiao Xiaohui Tan Fu Zhang Yangeng Yu Qi Wang Weibing Xie Huijun Wang Dongri Li 2019Forensic Sciences Research2019,4,4:1
8Recent advances of magnesium hydride as an energy storage material显示文摘Energy storage is the key for large-scale application of renewable energy,however,massive efficient en-ergy storage is very challenging.Magnesium hydride(MgH_(2))offers a wide range of potential applications as an energy carrier due to its advantages of low cost,abundant supplies,and high energy storage capac-ity.However,the practical application of MgH_(2) for energy storage is still impeded by its sluggish kinetics,poor cycling stability,etc.Herein,we provide an overview of recent advances of MgH_(2) for enhancing the hydrogen storage,lithium-ion storage,and heat storage performances.For hydrogen storage,a particular emphasis was put on altering the kinetics and thermodynamics of MgH_(2) via catalyzing,alloying,nano-sizing,and compositing.Modifications to MgH_(2) as a battery anode material mainly focus on the effect of additives,electrolytes,and structure configurations.Prototype heat storage apparatus was proposed based on MgH_(2) and coupled with other materials or systems to improve the heat storage and economic efficiency.Besides,prospects of MgH_(2) in these fields are discussed.This review would stimulate more insightful and pioneering research for the design and preparation of MgH_(2) with excellent energy storage performances.Mengchen Song Liuting Zhang Fuying Wu Haoyu Zhang Hu Zhao Lixin Chen Hong Li 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,18:0

10Brittle culm 25, which encodes an UDP-xylose synthase, affects cell wall properties in rice显示文摘Because plant mechanical strength influences plant growth and development,the regulatory mechanisms underlying cell-wall synthesis deserve investigation.Rice mutants are useful for such research.We have identified a novel brittle culm 25(bc25)mutant with reduced growth and partial sterility.BC25 encodes an UDP-glucuronic acid decarboxylase involved in cellulose synthesis and belongs to the UXS family.A single-nucleotide mutation in BC25 accounts for its altered cell morphology and cellwall composition.Transmission electron microscopy analysis showed that the thickness of the secondary cell wall was reduced in bc25.Monosaccharide analysis revealed significant increases in content of rhamnose and arabinose but not of other monosaccharides,indicating that BC25 was involved in xylose synthesis with some level of functional redundancy.Enzymatic assays suggested that BC25 functions with high activity to interconvert UDP-glucuronic acid(UDP-Glc A)and UDP-xylose.GUS staining showed that BC25 was ubiquitously expressed with higher expression in culm,root and sheath,in agreement with that shown by quantitative real-time(q RT)-PCR.RNA-seq further suggested that BC25 is involved in sugar metabolism.We conclude that BC25 strongly influences rice cell wall formation.Siliang Xu Mengchen Zhang Junhua Ye Dongxiu Hu Yuanyuan Zhang Zhen Li Junrong Liu Yanfei Sun Shan Wang Xiaoping Yuan Yue Feng Qun Xu Xinghua Wei Dali Zeng Yaolong Yang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,3:0
11Fabrication of patterned transparent conductive glass via laser metal transfer for efficient electrical heating and antibacteria显示文摘Vapor deposition and three-dimensional(3D)printing technology are considered to be conventional methods to achieve patterned metal film preparation through the assistance of masks and high temperature.Therefore,there are still some challenges in fabricating metal films in template-free and normal temperature environment.In this work,we report a flexible and rapid laser metal transfer(LMT)technique for fabricating the various metal films(Cu,Ni,Sn,Al,Fe,and Ag)with different patterns without templates on arbitrary substrates(glass,polyimide(PI)films,and aluminum nitride(AlN)ceramic).Especially,the obtained transparent conductive glass displays high transmittance(more than 90%)and adjustable resistances(≈5Ω).According to the Joule effect,the interface resistance between Cu particles and copper oxide coating produces the high temperature approximately 280℃ at 2 V in a short time(≈60 s)and remains stable at 120℃ over 12 h.At last,the multifunctional glass with Cu patterns also shows excellent bactericidal activity(≈95%).This work demonstrates that laser metal transfer is an exceeding effective means of fabricating the micro/nano structures with potential applications in functional devices.Xiaoyan Liu Ting Zhang Mengchen Xu Yang Li Haiqing Wang Yuke Chen Xuzihan Zhang Zenan Wang Xiaoyan Li Weijia Zhou Hong Liu 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0

13Influence of surface Ce/Zr ratio on formation of κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) superstructure and its application in three-way catalysis显示文摘Ceria-zirconia based(CZ) materials are still a crucial component of three-way catalysts(TWCs) now.Compared with traditional cubic or tetragonal phase,CZ material with pyrochlore-type κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) phase shows an excellent oxygen storage capacity,and thus is examined as a promising material for developing TWCs.Considering the remarkable surface Ce/Zr ratio change during the κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) formation,we investigated the effects of surface Ce/Zr ratio on the formation of κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) and on the supported Pdonly three-way catalysts.Raman and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results demonstrate that partial κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) structure is formed in the three oxides,and the content of κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) structure increases with increasing surface Ce/Zr ratio,but its stability declines.After thermal aging,the proportions of Ce^(3+) and oxidized palladium(Pd^(δ+)+Pd^(2+)) in the catalysts,which are shown to be positively correlated with catalytic activity,follow the same sequence as the stability of κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8),namely Pd/M0.33 ROa> Pd/M0.4 ROa> Pd/CeM0.33 ROa.In particular,Pd/M0.33 RO,which possesses 100%((Pd^(δ+)+Pd^(2+))/Pd) even after thermal aging at 900℃ for 4 h,owing to the strengthened metal-support interaction by the presence of stable κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8),shows the best catalytic performance.This work is instructive to the application of κ-Ce_(2)Zr_(2)O_(8) in three-way catalysis.Jie Deng Shanshan Li Xinyi Yin Mengchen Li Jianli Wang Yongdong Chen Yaoqiang Chen 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,1:0
14Design of Multi-unit Control System of High Voltage Power Supply for LASCAR Scintillator Detector Array显示文摘The power voltages of Photomultipliers (PMTs) at RIBLL LASCAR scintillator detector array are distributed between 900 V and 1 800 V irregularly. 392 CC123 modules are employed to supply high voltage for the PMT array. The CC123 module serves as PMT interface groupware package, and it can transform +12 V DC input voltage to ranges of 0~-2200 V for the PMT power supply corresponding to 0~+5 V output voltage from the control board crate. 15PROG1 acts upstream of LAZY1 to regulate rice tiller angle as a repressor显示文摘Rice tiller angle,as a component of plant architecture,affects rice grain yield via plant density.However,the molecular mechanism underlying rice tiller angle remains elusive.We report that the key domestication gene PROSTRATE GROWTH 1(PROG1)controls rice tiller angle by regulating shoot gravitropism and LAZY1(LA1)-mediated asymmetric distribution of auxin.Acting as a transcriptional repressor,PROG1 negatively regulates the expression of LA1 in light-grown rice seedlings.Overexpression of LA1 partially rescued the larger tiller angle of the PROG1 complementation transgenic plant(prog1-D).Double-mutant analysis showed that PROG1 acts upstream of LA1 to regulate shoot gravitropism and tiller angle.Mutation of Suppressors of lazy1(SOL1),encoding DWARF3(D3)acting in the strigolactone signal pathway,suppressed the large tiller angle of prog1-D by rescuing the transcription of LA1.The discovery of a light-sensitive PROG1-LA1 transcription regulatory module controlling rice shoot gravitropism and tiller angle sheds light on the genetic control of rice tiller angle.Han Zhang Xiang Li Dajun Sang Linzhou Huang Yuqi Song Mengchen Du Jiajia Cao Wenguang Wang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,2:0
16Using polyvinylidene fluoride to improve ignition and combustion of micron-sized boron powder by fluorination reaction显示文摘Boron has a promising application in the field of propellants due to its high calorific value.However,the difficulty of ignition and the poor combustion efficiency of boron(B)have severely limited its efficient application.In response to this issue,this paper proposes to improve the ignition and combustion performance of micron-sized boron by the Polyvinylidene Fluoride(PVDF)coating.The effect of PVDF content on the B combustion performance was systematically studied using a Thermogravimetry-Differential Scanning Calorimetry(TG-DSC),a Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM),an X-Ray Diffractometer(XRD),a laser Particle Size Analyzer(PSA),and a high-speed camera.The results show that PVDF can significantly reduce the initial oxidation temperature of B powder and increase its reaction heat.When the PVDF content is 23wt%,the reaction heat and the combustion intensity of B powder reach the maximum and are significantly higher than those of the uncoated B powder.Moreover,the fluorination reaction that occurs during the combustion process not only can effectively shorten the combustion time of B powder,but also has a positive effect on its flame intensity and propagation speed,and it significantly reduces B particle agglomeration,which improves the combustion efficiency significantly.This study lays the foundation for the application of PVDF modified B in B-based solid propellants.Lingqi ZHU Baozhong ZHU Xiaolong ZHAO Yanan WANG Mengchen LI Jiuyu CHEN Yunlan Sun 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,10:0
17Swertiamarin ameliorates diet-induced obesity by promoting adipose tissue browning and oxidative metabolism in preexisting obese mice显示文摘Obesity is a risk factor for many metabolic diseases.Efficient therapeutic strategies are urgently needed.Swertiamarin(STM)prevents obesity and the associated insulin resistance and inflammation.However,the therapeutic effects of STM on preexisting obesity remain unclear.Therefore,in this study we aim to investigate the effects of STM on energy expenditure and fat browning in mice with preexisting obesity.C57BL/6J mice are fed with a high-fat diet(HFD)for 8 weeks to induce obesity and then gavaged(or not)with STM for 10 weeks.The whole-body energy metabolism of mice is examined by indirect calorimetry.The results show that after 10 weeks of treatment,STM markedly prevents HFD-induced weight gain,chronic inflammation,insulin resistance,and hepatic steatosis.STM promotes oxygen consumption and energy expenditure.The level of uncoupling protein 1 is enhanced in the brown and white adipose tissues of STM-treated mice.STM increases the phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase and the expressions of genes involved in fat oxidation,reducing fat deposition in skeletal muscles.Meanwhile,STM does not affect the intestinal microbiotic composition.Overall,STM supplementation may serve as a potential therapy for obesity.Yuqin Zhu Haoran Li Mengchen Ma Dandan Li Ouyang Zhang Suili Cai Yajiao Wang Dandan Chen Shengnan Jin Chunming Ding Liang Xu 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,1:0
18Antioxidant defense mechanisms and fatty acid catabolism in Red-billed Leiothrix(Leiothrix lutea)exposed to high temperatures显示文摘Extreme hot weather is occurring more frequently due to global warming,posing a significant threat to species survival.Birds in particular are more likely to overheat in hot weather because they have a higher body temperature.This study used a heat stress model to investigate the antioxidant defense mechanisms and changes in fatty acid catabolism in Red-billed Leiothrix(Leiothrix lutea)to gain an understanding of how birds adapt to high temperatures.The birds were divided into five groups:a control group(30℃for 0 days),1 D group(40℃for 1 day),3 D group(40℃for 3 days),14 D group(40℃for 14 days)and recovery group(40℃for 14 days,then 30℃for 14 days).Our results indicated that when Red-billed Leiothrix are subjected to heat stress,malondialdehyde(MDA)content in the liver significantly increased,as did the enzyme activities of catalase(CAT),glutathione-SH-peroxidase(GSH-PX)and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)in the liver.Furthermore,there was a significant increase in heat shock protein 70(HSP70)expression in the liver,while avian uncoupling protein(avUCP)expression in muscle was significantly reduced.Additionally,there was a significant reduction in fatty acid catabolism enzyme activity such as 3-hydroxyacyl-CoAdehydrogenase(HOAD)activity in the heart,and carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1(CPT-1)and citrate synthase(CS)activity in the heart and liver.Furthermore,fatty acid translocase(FAT/CD36)in the heart,heart-type fatty acid binding protein(H-FABP)and fatty acid binding protein(FABP-pm)in the liver and heart were also significantly decreased.These changes reverted after treatment,but not to the same level as the control group.Our results indicated that when Red-billed Leiothrix are exposed to heat stress their internal antioxidant defense system is activated to counteract the damage caused by high temperatures.However,even with high antioxidant levels,prolonged high temperature exposure still caused some degree of oxidative damage possibly requiring a longer recovery time.Additionally,Red-billed Leiothrix may be able to resist heat stress by reducing fatty acid transport and catabolism.Ruiping Xu Canwen Yu Liyao Mao Mengchen Jiang Luyao Gao Ming Li Jinsong Liu 2022Avian Research2022,13,1:0
