| 3 | Emerging Urban Poverty and Effects of the Dibao Program on Alleviating Poverty in China显示文摘The present paper describes the current urban poverty situation,examines the factors affecting the probability of a household being in poverty and investigates how the urban minimum living standard guarantee (dibao) program helps poor people to get out of poverty. The targeting efficiency of the urban dibao program is discussed. The present study finds that the poverty rate of households with unemployed workers is much higher than that of households without unemployed workers. The urban dibao program is helpful in reducing poverty rates,but it does not reduce poverty rates too much. The government should place emphasis on helping laid-off and unemployed workers to become reemployed. | 5 | Hydration Mechanism of Sulphoaluminate Cement显示文摘The feasibility of sulphoaluminate cement (SAC) utilization in support mortar was studied. Setting time and strength of as-received sulphoaluminate cement (SAC) paste were examined, hydration kinetics behavior was determined through Isothermal Calorimeter, and hydration mechanism was investigated by X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy analysis(FSEM). Results showed that as-received SAC contained 61% of anhydrous calcium sulfate (3CA·CaSO4) and dicalcium silicate (C2S). The strength after 1 day or 3 days grew to 68.6% or 85.7% of that after 28 days respectively, while most of hydration heat was released within 1 day. The emergency of three exothermic peaks at acceleration stage was found and hydration kinetics model was established choosing the terminal time of the first exothermic peak at accelerating stage as the beginning of accelerating stage. | 9 | Oxidation of gaseous elemental mercury in a high voltage discharge reactor显示文摘Effects of the voltage waveform, discharge tooth wheel number and CO2/NO/SO2 concentration in the simulated flue gas on Hg0 oxidation were investigated using a link tooth wheel-cylinder reactor energized by different high voltage power supplies. Negative DC discharge induced more ozone production and a higher Hg0 oxidation efficiency than positive DC discharge and 12 kHz AC discharge. The discharge tooth wheel number had almost no effect on the maximum Hg0 oxidation efficiency. The allowable supplied voltage decreased with the increase of discharge tooth wheel number. CO2 could stabilize the discharge process and increase the maximum voltage for a stable discharge. | 12 | Inequality of Opportunity in China's Labor Earnings: The Gender Dimension显示文摘This paper investigates the inequality of opportunity in China's labor earnings,defined as the component of inequality determined by personal circumstances that lie beyond the control of an individual,of which gender is one,as opposed to the component determined by personal efforts.Using the Survey of Women's Social Status in China (2010),we measure the share of inequality of opportunity in the total inequality of individual labor earnings for people aged 26-55 years,and separately for six birth cohorts and for female and male subsamples.Gender is revealed as the single most important circumstance determining nationwide individual labor earnings,with one's region of residence, father's occupation,father's education,birth cohort and holding rural or urban hukou also playing significant roles.A further investigation into the roles of circumstances and personal efforts (including education level,occupation,Communist Party membership, migration and marital status)confirms that circumstances play.an alarmingly high role in shaping labor earnings distribution in China,and reveals notable gender differences that cannot be attributed to personal effort alone.These results provide the basis for recommending ways to improve gender equality of opportunity in the future. | Jane Golley Yixiao Zhou Meiyan Wang | 2019 | China & World Economy2019,27,1: | 5 |
| 13 | Monitoring Maize Lodging Grades via Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Multispectral Image显示文摘Lodging is one of the main factors affecting the quality and yield of crops.Timely and accurate determination of crop lodging grade is of great significance for the quantitative and objective evaluation of yield losses.The purpose of this study was to analyze the monitoring ability of a multispectral image obtained by an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)for determination of the maize lodging grade.A multispectral Parrot Sequoia camera is specially designed for agricultural applications and provides new information that is useful in agricultural decision-making.Indeed,a near-infrared image which cannot be seen with the naked eye can be used to make a highly precise diagnosis of the vegetation condition.The images obtained constitute a highly effective tool for analyzing plant health.Maize samples with different lodging grades were obtained by visual interpretation,and the spectral reflectance,texture feature parameters,and vegetation indices of the training samples were extracted.Different feature transformations were performed,texture features and vegetation indices were combined,and various feature images were classified by maximum likelihood classification(MLC)to extract four lodging grades.Classification accuracy was evaluated using a confusion matrix based on the verification samples,and the features suitable for monitoring the maize lodging grade were screened.The results showed that compared with a multispectral image,the principal components,texture features,and combination of texture features and vegetation indices were improved by varying degrees.The overall accuracy of the combination of texture features and vegetation indices is 86.61%,and the Kappa coefficient is 0.8327,which is higher than that of other features.Therefore,the classification result based on the feature combinations of the UAV multispectral image is useful for monitoring of maize lodging grades. | Qian Sun Lin Sun Meiyan Shu Xiaohe Gu Guijun Yang Longfei Zhou | 2019 | Plant Phenomics2019,1,1: | 5 |
| 14 | Sr-Nd-Pb Isotopic Compositions of the Neogene Eolian Deposits in the Xining Basin and Implications for Their Dust Sources显示文摘The Neogene eolian deposits in the Xining Basin are valuable archive for studying the evolution of the Asian monsoon system and geomorphic processes of Northwest China. The Neogene eolian deposits that paleomagnetically dated at about 14 Ma probably were sourced from the middle and west Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(QTP) as indicated by elemental compositions and magnetic properties. This study provides the Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic ratios of different sediments(gravels from the river terraces, Neogene eolian deposits and Quaternary loess) in the Xining Basin. The results show that:(1) Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of terrace gravels are different from those of the Neogene and Quaternary eolian deposits, although the Nd isotope ratios of gravel on the 10 th terrace(T10) and eolian deposits are similar.(2) Pb isotopic compositions of river gravels are obviously different from the eolian deposits in the Xining Basin. However, Pb isotopic compositions of eolian deposits in the basin are similar to those of eolian deposits in the central Chinese Loess Plateau.(3) Sr-Nd-Pb isotope results indicate that the Neogene eolian deposits in the Xining Basin were probably sourced from remote areas outside of the basin by long-distance transportation. | 15 | Cenozoic tectonic and geomorphic evolution of the Longxi region in northeastern Tibetan Plateau interpreted from detrital zircon显示文摘The Longxi region contains different kinds of Cenozoic sediments,including eolian deposits,reworked loess,fluvial and lacustrine deposits.The provenance evolution of these sediments is of great significance in exploring the uplift,tectonic deformation and associated with geomorphic evolution of the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau.In this paper,we used the single-grain zircon provenance analysis to constrain the provenances for the Paleogene alluvial conglomerates and for the Neogene fluvial-lacustrine sediments,and compared them with results from the loess deposits since the Miocene.The results show that:(1)the Paleogene alluvial conglomerates contain a large number of detrital zircons ranging from 560 to 1100 Ma that were derived from the Yangzi Block.However,the sediments of early Miocene have much fewer zircons of this age span,which are characterized by an abundance of zircon ages in the ranges of 200-360 Ma.This indicates that the Paleogene alluvial conglomerates mainly come from the middle and/or southern West Qinling,and the early Miocene sediments are primarily from the northern West Qinling;(2)Late Neogene fluvial sediments(11.5 Ma onward)in Tianshui-Qinan region are dominated by zircon ages of 3 80-450 Ma.This zircon population is similar to that of the exposed intrusive rocks of southern part of the Liupan Mountains,implying that the southern part of Liupan Mountains probably had already uplifted by 11.5 Ma;(3)Late Miocene lacustrine sediments in Tianshui region have a zircon age spectra that is remarkably different from coeval fluvial deposits,but is similar to the zircon age distributions of the Miocene loess in Qinan region,late Miocene-Pliocene Hipparion red clay and Quaternary loess.This indicates that fine particles within these Miocene lacustrine sediments in Tianshui region may be dominated by aeolian materials.This study reveals that provenance changes of Cenozoic sediments in Tianshui-Qinan region and its geomorphic evolution are closely related to the multi-stage uplift of the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau.In particular,the major uplift of the Northern Tibetan Plateau during late Oligocene-early Miocene may have not only provided the source areas and wind dynamic conditions for the deposits of the Miocene loess,but also provided the geomorphic conditions for its accumulation. | WANG ZhiXiang LIANG MeiYan SUN YuQi DAI GaoWen | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,2: | 4 |
| 16 | Effects of Pseudoalteromonas sp. BC228 on Digestive Enzyme Activity and Immune Response of Juvenile Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus)显示文摘A marine bacterium, Pseudoalteromonas sp. BC228 was supplemented to feed in a feeding experiment aiming to determine its ability of enhancing the digestive enzyme activity and immune response of juvenile Apostichopus japonicus. Sea cucumber individuals were fed with the diets containing 0(control), 105, 107 and 109 CFU g-1 diet of BC228 for 45 days. Results showed that intestinal trypsin and lipase activities were significantly enhanced by 107 and 109 CFU g-1 diet of BC228 in comparison with control(P < 0.01). The phagocytic activity in the coelomocytes of sea cucumber fed the diet supplemented with 107 CFU g-1 diet of BC228 was significantly higher than that of those fed control diet(P < 0.05). In addition, 105 and 107 CFU g-1 diet of BC228 significantly enhanced lysozyme and phenoloxidase activities in the coelomic fluid of sea cucumber, respectively, in comparison with other diets(P < 0.01). Sea cucumbers, 10 each diet, were challenged with Vibrio splendidus NB13 after 45 days of feeding. It was found that the cumulative incidence and mortality of sea cucumber fed with BC228 containing diets were lower than those of animals fed control diet. | 18 | The IAA-and ABA-responsive transcription factor CgMYB58 upregulates lignin biosynthesis and triggers juice sac granulation in pummelo显示文摘In citrus,lignin overaccumulation in the juice sac results in granulation and an unpleasant fruit texture and taste.By integrating metabolic phenotyping and transcriptomic analyses,we found 702 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),including 24 transcription factors(TFs),to be significantly correlated with lignin content.CgMYB58 was further identified as a critical R2R3 MYB TF involved in lignin overaccumulation owing to its high transcript levels in Huanong Red-fleshed pummelo(HR,Citrus grandis)fruits.Transient expression of CgMYB58 led to an increase in the lignin content in the pummelo fruit mesocarp,whereas its stable overexpression significantly promoted lignin accumulation and upregulated 19 lignin biosynthetic genes.Among these genes,CgPAL1,CgPAL2,Cg4CL1,and CgC3H were directly modulated by CgMYB58 through interaction with their promoter regions.Moreover,we showed that juice sac granulation in pummelo fruits could be affected by indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)and abscisic acid(ABA)treatments.In HR pummelo,ABA significantly accelerated this granulation,whereas IAA effectively inhibited this process.Taken together,these results provide novel insight into the lignin accumulation mechanism in citrus fruits.We also revealed the theoretical basis via exogenous IAA application,which repressed the expression of CgMYB58 and its target genes,thus alleviating juice sac granulation in orchards. | Meiyan Shi Xiao Liu Haipeng Zhang Zhenyu He Hongbin Yang Jiajing Chen Jia Feng Wenhui Yang Youwu Jiang Jia-Long Yao Cecilia Hong Deng Juan Xu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
| 19 | The provenance of Gansu Group in Longxi region and implications for tectonics and paleoclimate显示文摘The Neogene sediments of Gansu Group from northwestern China contain eolian and fluvial deposits.The origins of these sediments are very important for exploring the onset of Asian inland aridification,the pattern of paleo-atmospheric circulation,and the regional tectonics and geomorphic evolution during the Miocene.Here we present detrital-zircon age spectra of typical eolian and fluvial deposits from highlands and subsidence basin,and compare them with those of surrounding eroded mountain(such as the West Qinling Mountains and Liupan Mountains)materials and Quaternary loess derived from the Asian inlands.The results reveal that(1)the detrital-zircon age spectrum of the Miocene eolian sample is remarkably different from the eroded materials of the West Qinling Mountains and the Miocene fluvial deposits from Tianshui region,but very similar to the Quaternary loess deposits.This indicates that the provenance of Miocene eolian sediments is similar with the Quaternary loess,and thus further confirms the previous conclusions that the distribution of Asian arid lands and the pattern of atmospheric circulation during the Miocene are broadly similar with the Quaternary.(2)The detrital-zircon age spectrum of the fluvial deposits(with age about 11.5 Ma)from Tianshui region is different from the eroded materials of West Qinling Mountains,but similar with that of the Liupan Mountains to the east,which may suggest that the Liupan Mountains have already been exhumed by11.5 Ma. | LIANG MeiYan WANG ZhiXiang ZHOU Sen ZONG KeQing HU ZhaoChu | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,6: | 4 |
| 20 | Orbital control on cyclical organic matter accumulation in Early Silurian Longmaxi Formation shales显示文摘High resolution(939 samples)total organic carbon content(TOC)analyses were conducted on the Shuanghe Section of^152.6 m in the Changning area,Sichuan Basin.The sampling section was divided into two units considering the distinct-different deposit environment and sediments accumulation rate.The lower part(Unit 1)and the peer part(Unit 2)with high resolution sample spacing(0.08–0.4 m)enables the identification of the precession cycle in two sedimentary sequences with distinct different sedimentary accumulation rate.MTM Power spectral analyses on untuned TOC series reveals significant peaks exceeding above the 95%confidence level and shows that both Unit 1 and Unit 2 have recorded Milankovitch cycles of 405 kyr long eccentricity,short eccentricity,obliquity and precession.The floating astronomical time scale(ATS)was constructed on the Shuanghe Section in the Early Silurian(~439.673–444.681 Ma),and which was calibrated by 405 kyr long eccentricity cycles.The total duration of the Wufeng and Longmaxi shales is 5.01 Myr.The floating ATS used for estimating the duration of the graptolite zones and each stage in the study interval.Finally,we postulated two models that could verify the linkage between orbital cycle and organic accumulation.To make sure whether productivity or preservation is the main factor that under long eccentricity control,the phase correlation between the obtained filtered signal and the theoretical orbital solution should be made clear in the further research. | Siding Jin Hucheng Deng Xing Zhu Yan Liu Sibing Liu Meiyan Fu | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,2: | 4 |
