1Growth and Repair Potential of Three Species of Bacteria in Reclaimed Wastewater after UV Disinfection显示文摘Objective The growth and repair potential of three typical microorganisms in reclaimed water after UV disinfection was investigated to assess the effects of photo-reactivation and dark repair of microorganisms,and the microbial safety of reclaimed water following this procedure.Methods The growth and repair potential of Escherichia coli,a fecal coliform strain and Bacillus subtilis in the effluent of a biological wastewater treatment plant disinfected by a low-pressure UV lamp were investigated.Results Any increase in bacterial numbers in the effluent after UV disinfection was due to damage repair.Exposure to photo-reactivating light for 8-10 h after UV irradiation with a dose of 5 mJ/cm 2,the highest percentage of photo-reactivation observed for E.coli and the fecal coliform strain was 29% and 15% respectively.B.subtilis showed little photo-reactivation under these conditions.The percentage of photo-reactivation was related to the UV dose and the photo-reactivating time,and a function was developed to forecast the final concentrations of E.coli and the fecal coliform strain after UV disinfection with possible photo-reactivation.Conclusion Different species of bacteria displayed different responses to UV light and different repair potentials.The repair of indigenous bacteria in wastewater needs to be investigated in future work.GUO MeiTing HUANG JingJing HU HongYing LIU WenJun 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4:8
2PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling orchestrates the phenotypic transition and chemo-resistance of small cell lung cancer显示文摘Small cell lung cancer(SCLC)is a phenotypically heterogeneous disease with an extremely poor prognosis,which is mainly attributed to the rapid development of resistance to chemotherapy.However,the relation between the growth phenotypes and chemo-resistance of SCLC remains largely unclear.Through comprehensive bioinformatic analyses,we found that the heterogeneity of SCLC phenotype was significantly associated with different sensitivity to chemotherapy.Adherent or semiadherent SCLC cells were enriched with activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway and were highly chemoresistant.Mechanistically,activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway promotes the phenotypic transition from suspension to adhesion growth pattern and confers SCLC cells with chemo-resistance.Such chemo-resistance could be largely overcome by combining chemotherapy with PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibitors.Our findings support that the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway plays an important role in SCLC phenotype transition and chemo-resistance,which holds important clinical implications for improving SCLC treatment.Xuefeng Li Cheng Li Chenchen Guo Qiqi Zhao Jiayu Cao Hsin-Yi Huang Meiting Yue Yun Xue Yujuan Jin Liang Hu Hongbin Ji 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,7:5
3A Study on the Relationship Between Land Finance and Housing Price in Urbanization Process: An Empirical Analysis of 182 Cities in China Based on Threshold Panel Models显示文摘Scholars have a variety of theoretical explanations for housing price growth. However, few scholars have studied the internal influence mechanism among urbanization, land finance, and housing price. Based on the data of 182 prefecture-level cities from 2009 to 2016, this paper studies the influence of land finance on housing price under different urbanization rate levels. The study finds that with the increase of urbanization rate, the effect of land finance on housing price presents a 'U' shape.Specifically, an increase in land finance by 1% results in a corresponding increase in average housing price by 0.18%, with relatively low urbanization rate, 0.06% with medium level of urbanization rate,and 0.38% with high level of urbanization rate.Meiting HU Jichang DONG Lijun YIN Chun MENG Xiuting LI 2021Journal of Systems Science and Information2021,9,1:2
4Histone modification landscape and the key significance of H3K27me3 in myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Histone modifications play crucial roles in the pathogenesis of myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury.However,a genome-wide map of histone modifications and the underlying epigenetic signatures in myocardial I/R injury have not been established.Here,we integrated transcriptome and epigenome of histone modifications to characterize epigenetic signatures after I/R injury.Disease-specific histone mark alterations were mainly found in H3K27me3-,H3K27ac-,and H3K4me1-marked regions 24 and 48 h after I/R.Genes differentially modified by H3K27ac,H3K4me1 and H3K27me3 were involved in immune response,heart conduction or contraction,cytoskeleton,and angiogenesis.H3K27me3 and its methyltransferase polycomb repressor complex 2(PRC2)were upregulated in myocardial tissues after I/R.Upon selective inhibition of EZH2(the catalytic core of PRC2),the mice manifest improved cardiac function,enhanced angiogenesis,and reduced fibrosis.Further investigations confirmed that EZH2 inhibition regulated H3K27me3 modification of multiple pro-angiogenic genes and ultimately enhanced angiogenic properties in vivo and in vitro.This study delineates a landscape of histone modifications in myocardial I/R injury,and identifies H3K27me3 as a key epigenetic modifier in I/R process.The inhibition of H3K27me3 and its methyltransferase might be a potential strategy for myocardial I/R injury intervention.Le Ni Bowen Lin Yanping Zhang Lingjie Hu Jianghua Lin Fengmei Fu Meiting Shen Can Li Lei Chen Jian Yang Dan Shi Yi-Han Chen 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,6:0
