1Early diabetic neuropathy:Triggers and mechanisms显示文摘Peripheral neuropathy, and specifically distal peripheral neuropathy (DPN), is one of the most frequent and troublesome complications of diabetes mellitus. It is the major reason for morbidity and mortality among diabetic patients. It is also frequently associated with debilitating pain. Unfortunately, our knowledge of the natural history and pathogenesis of this disease remains limited. For a long time hyperglycemia was viewed as a major, if not the sole factor, responsible for all symptomatic presenta- tions of DPN. Multiple clinical observations and animal studies supported this view. The control of blood glu- cose as an obligatory step of therapy to delay or reverse DPN is no longer an arguable issue. However, while supporting evidence for the glycemic hypothesis has ac- cumulated, multiple controversies accumulated as well. It is obvious now that DPN cannot be fully understood without considering factors besides hyperglycemia. Some symptoms of DPN may develop with little, if any, cor- relation with the glycemic status of a patient. It is also clear that identification of these putative non-glycemic mechanisms of DPN is of utmost importance for our un- derstanding of failures with existing treatments and for the development of new approaches for diagnosis and therapy of DPN. 2Emerging ultra-narrow-band cyan-emitting phosphor for white LEDs with enhanced color rendition显示文摘Phosphor-converted white LEDs rely on combining a blue-emitting InGaN chip with yellow and red-emitting luminescent materials.The discovery of cyan-emitting(470-500 nm)phosphors is a challenge to compensate for the spectral gap and produce full-spectrum white light.Na_(0.5)K_(0.5)Li_(3)SiO_(4):Eu^(2+)(NKLSO:Eu^(2+))phosphor was developed with impressive properties,providing cyan emission at 486 nm with a narrow full width at half maximum(FWHM)of only 20.7 nm,and good thermal stability with an integrated emission loss of only 7% at 150℃.The ultra-narrow-band cyan emission results from the high-symmetry cation sites,leading to almost ideal cubic coordination for UCr_(4)C_(4)-type compounds.NKLSO:Eu^(2+) phosphor allows the valley between the blue and yellow emission peaks in the white LED device to be filled,and the color-rendering index can be enhanced from 86 to 95.2,suggesting great applications in full-spectrum white LEDs.Ming Zhao Hongxu Liao Maxim S.Molokeev Yayun Zhou Qinyuan Zhang Quanlin Liu Zhiguo Xia 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:21
3Proton pump inhibitors therapy and risk of Clostridium difficile infection: Systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) therapy and the risk of Clostridium difficile infection(CDI). METHODS We conducted a systematic search of MEDLINE/Pub Med and seven other databases through January 1990 to March 2017 for published studies that evaluated the association between PPIs and CDI. Adult case-control and cohort studies providing information on the association between PPI therapy and the development of CDI were included. Pooled odds ratios(ORs) estimates with 95% confidence intervals(CIs) were calculated using the random effect. Heterogeneity was assessed by I^2 test and Cochran's Q statistic.Potential publication bias was evaluated via funnel plot, and quality of studies by the Newcastle-Otawa Quality Assessment Scale(NOS). RESULTS Fifty-six studies(40 case-control and 16 cohort) involving 356683 patients met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. Both the overall pooled estimates and subgroup analyses showed increased risk for CDI despite substantial statistical heterogeneity among studies. Meta-analysis of all studies combined showed a significant association between PPI users and the risk of CDI(pooled OR = 1.99, CI: 1.73-2.30, P < 0.001) as compared with non-users. The association remained significant in subgroup analyses: by design-case-control(OR = 2.00, CI: 1.68-2.38, P < 0.0001), and cohort(OR = 1.98, CI: 1.51-2.59, P < 0.0001); adjusted(OR = 1.95, CI: 1.67-2.27, P < 0.0001) and unadjusted(OR = 2.02, CI: 1.41-2.91, P < 0.0001); unicenter(OR = 2.18, CI: 1.72-2.75, P < 0.0001) and multicenter(OR = 1.82, CI: 1.51-2.19, P < 0.0001); age ≥ 65 years(OR = 1.93, CI: 1.40-2.68, P < 0.0001) and < 65 years(OR = 2.06, CI: 1.11-3.81, P < 0.01). No significant differences were found in subgroup analyses(test for heterogeneity): P = 0.93 for case-control vs cohort, P = 0.85 for adjusted vs unadjusted, P = 0.24 for unicenter vs multicenter, P = 0.86 for age ≥ 65 years and < 65 years. There was significant heterogeneity across studies(I^2 = 85.4%, P < 0.001) as well as evidence of publication bias(funnel plot asymmetry test, P = 0.002). CONCLUSION This meta-analysis provides further evidence that PPI use is associated with an increased risk for development of CDI. 4Deep learning analysis of defect and phase evolution during electron beam-induced transformations in WS_(2)显示文摘Recent advances in scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM)allow the real-time visualization of solid-state transformations in materials,including those induced by an electron beam and temperature,with atomic resolution.However,despite the ever-expanding capabilities for high-resolution data acquisition,the inferred information about kinetics and thermodynamics of the process,and single defect dynamics and interactions is minimal.This is due to the inherent limitations of manual ex situ analysis of the collected volumes of data.To circumvent this problem,we developed a deep-learning framework for dynamic STEM imaging that is trained to find the lattice defects and apply it for mapping solid state reactions and transformations in layered WS_(2).The trained deep-learning model allows extracting thousands of lattice defects from raw STEM data in a matter of seconds,which are then classified into different categories using unsupervised clustering methods.We further expanded our framework to extract parameters of diffusion for sulfur vacancies and analyzed transition probabilities associated with switching between different configurations of defect complexes consisting of Mo dopant and sulfur vacancy,providing insight into pointdefect dynamics and reactions.This approach is universal and its application to beam-induced reactions allows mapping chemical transformation pathways in solids at the atomic level.Artem Maksov Ondrej Dyck Kai Wang Kai Xiao David B.Geohegan Bobby G.Sumpter Rama K.Vasudevan Stephen Jesse Sergei V.Kalinin Maxim Ziatdinov 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:11
5Infected pancreatic necrosis: Not necessarily a late event in acute pancreatitis显示文摘It is widely believed that infection of pancreatic necrosis is a late event in the natural course of acute pancreatitis. This paper discusses the available data on the timing of pancreatic infection. It appears that infected pancreatic necrosis occurs early in almost a quarter of patients. This has practical implications for the type, timing and duration of preventive strategies used in these patients. There are also implications for the classification of severity in patients with acute pancreatitis. Given that the main determinants of severity are both local and systemic complications and that they can occur both early and late in the course of acute pancreatitis, the classification of severity should be based on their presence or absence rather than on when they occur. 6Relationship between the exocrine and endocrine pancreas after acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM:To determine the prevalence and time course of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in individuals with newly diagnosed prediabetes or diabetes mellitus after acute pancreatitis.METHODS:Relevant literature cited in three major biomedical journal databases(EMBASE,MEDLINE,and Scopus)was reviewed independently by two authors.There were no language constraints but the search was limited to human studies.Studies included were cohort studies of adult patients who were discharged after an attack of acute pancreatitis.Patients were excluded if they were under 18 years of age or had a previous diagnosis of prediabetes or diabetes mellitus,pancreatic exocrine insufficiency,or chronic pancreatitis.The main outcome measure was the prevalence of concomitant pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in patients who were diagnosed with prediabetes and diabetes mellitus after an attack of acute pancreatitis.Subgroup analysis was conducted for patients who were diagnosed with prediabetes only and those who were diagnosed withdiabetes mellitus only.Subgroup analysis looking at the time course of concomitant pancreatic exocrine and endocrine insufficiency was also conducted.Pooled prevalence and corresponding 95%confidence intervals were calculated for all outcome measures and P-values<0.05 were deemed statistically significant.RESULTS:Eight clinical studies comprising of 234patients met all eligibility criteria.The pooled prevalence of newly diagnosed prediabetes or diabetes in individuals after acute pancreatitis was 43%(95%CI:30%-56%).The pooled prevalence of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in individuals after acute pancreatitis was 29%(95%CI:19%-39%).The prevalence of concomitant pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in individuals with newly diagnosed prediabetes or diabetes was 40%(95%CI:25%-55%).The prevalence of concomitant pancreatic exocrine insufficiency among individuals with prediabetes alone and diabetes mellitus alone was 41%(95%CI:12%-75%)and 39%(95%CI:28%-51%),respectively.Further analysis showed that the prevalence of concomitant pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in individuals with prediabetes or diabetes decreases over time after an attack of acute pancreatitis.CONCLUSION:Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency occurs in 40%of individuals with newly diagnosed prediabetes or diabetes mellitus after acute pancreatitis.Further studies are needed to investigate the pathogenesis of diabetes in this setting.Stephanie L M Das James I C Kennedy Rinki Murphy Anthony R J Phillips John A Windsor Maxim S Petrov 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,45:9
7Learning surface molecular structures via machine vision显示文摘Recent advances in high resolution scanning transmission electron and scanning probe microscopies have allowed researchers to perform measurements of materials structural parameters and functional properties in real space with a picometre precision.In many technologically relevant atomic and/or molecular systems,however,the information of interest is distributed spatially in a non-uniform manner and may have a complex multi-dimensional nature.One of the critical issues,therefore,lies in being able to accurately identify(‘read out’)all the individual building blocks in different atomic/molecular architectures,as well as more complex patterns that these blocks may form,on a scale of hundreds and thousands of individual atomic/molecular units.Here we employ machine vision to read and recognize complex molecular assemblies on surfaces.Specifically,we combine Markov random field model and convolutional neural networks to classify structural and rotational states of all individual building blocks in molecular assembly on the metallic surface visualized in high-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy measurements.We show how the obtained full decoding of the system allows us to directly construct a pair density function—a centerpiece in analysis of disorderproperty relationship paradigm—as well as to analyze spatial correlations between multiple order parameters at the nanoscale,and elucidate reaction pathway involving molecular conformation changes.The method represents a significant shift in our way of analyzing atomic and/or molecular resolved microscopic images and can be applied to variety of other microscopic measurements of structural,electronic,and magnetic orders in different condensed matter systems.Maxim Ziatdinov Artem Maksov Sergei V.Kalinin 2017npj Computational Materials2017,,1:9
8新型B(C_6F_5)_3/有机胺盐酸盐催化体系的反应研究显示文摘近年来,受限路易斯酸碱对(FLPs:Frustrated Lewis Pairs)在小分子的活化以及在催化还原等方面所表现出的独特反应特性,使得有关FLPs化学的研究受到了国内外广泛的关注.设计了一种新型的FLPs催化体系,该体系以三(五氟苯基)硼(BCF)为路易斯酸,以多种不同取代的有机胺盐酸盐替代常规FLPs中的路易斯碱有机胺.发现利用该体系与氢化硅烷反应,不仅可以高产率地制备分离得到相应的伯、仲、叔硼氢化胺盐;而且还可以这一体系作为催化剂,以氢化硅烷作为还原剂,在常温常压下可高选择性地部分或彻底还原大部分含羰基官能团醛酮等有机化合物.由BCF/2,2,6,6-四甲基哌啶(TMP)盐酸盐组成的催化体系在对CO2催化还原为甲烷的反应中,亦较相应的BCF/TMP体系显示更高的活性.还通过核磁共振详细地对比研究了原料有机胺盐酸盐、中间体氯代硼胺盐以及产物氢化硼胺盐中,胺基氮上质子的核磁共振谱信息,发现不仅胺基上取代基的位阻效应会影响到具有电四极矩性的14N磁性核的弛豫效应,而且阴离子基团的配位强弱对胺基氮上质子的化学位移也会产生较大的影响.胡茜 田冲 Borzov Maxim 聂万丽 2015化学学报2015,73,10:9

12新型B(C_6F_5)_3/芳香胺盐酸盐体系的应用研究显示文摘尽管近年来有关受限路易斯酸碱对(FLPs)化学的研究受到了国内外的广泛关注,但有关芳香胺类FLPs的应用研究却极少涉及.设计了一种研究芳香胺类FLPs的新型方法,以芳香胺盐酸盐与路易斯酸三(五氟苯基)硼(BCF)组成新的反应体系,以氢化硅烷作为氢源.研究了在计量条件下一系列芳香胺盐酸盐/BCF体系与硅烷的反应特征.与烷基胺盐酸盐/BCF体系所不同的是,芳香胺盐酸盐/BCF体系在溶液中与氢化硅烷反应时所形成的芳香硼氢化胺盐[Ar_2NH_2]+[HBCF]-由于不稳定,在反应过程中会立即释放出氢气,并分解为芳胺和BCF.但是,恰恰是由于硼氢化芳香胺盐分解后重新产生的BCF,使得这类体系可用于催化反应,可作为一种新型高效的非金属催化体系用于硅烷的氯代反应.本文对在BCF的催化下,芳香胺盐酸盐与氢化硅烷在不同比例下反应,制备单氯或二氯代硅烷的反应过程及机理也做了详细地研究.同时,根据实际需要,可在反应结束后向反应体系中通入HCl气体的方法实现原料芳胺盐酸盐的重新利用,更加绿色环保.田冲 姜亚 Borzov Maxim 聂万丽 2015化学学报2015,73,11:7
13有机胺盐酸盐/B(C_6F_5)_3催化的酸与炔烃选择性加成反应研究显示文摘一直以来寻找直接有效的乙烯基官能化合成方法的研究备受关注.报道了一种新型的有机胺盐酸盐/B(C_6F_5)_3(BCF)体系催化炔烃与氢氯酸或羧酸的加成反应方法,可选择性地在炔烃的C(2)位氯代或羧化.研究了在有机胺盐酸盐/BCF体系催化下,不同取代的炔烃与无机酸HCl的氢氯化加成反应.在2,2,4,4-四甲基哌啶盐酸盐/BCF([TMPH]+[Cl-B(C_6F_5)_3]-)催化下,等物质的量的炔烃和HCl反应时,端基芳炔的C(2)位一加成产物的比例可高达90%以上,而端基烷基炔烃的选择性较芳炔差,叔丁基乙炔的一加成产物只占到67%.报道了非金属催化剂路易斯酸BCF催化的炔烃与羧酸CF_3COOH的烯醇酯化反应,端基芳炔的C(2)位烯醇酯化产率可达95%以上,而二苯基乙炔及非芳香性端基炔的反应活性较低.首次实现了非金属催化剂FLPs参与催化的炔烃与酸的选择性氢氯化和烯醇酯化加成反应.温志国 田冲 Borzov Maxim V. 聂万丽 2016化学学报2016,74,6:7

15Assessment of liver ablation using cone beam computed tomography显示文摘AIM: To investigate the feasibility and accuracy of cone beam computed tomography(CBCT) in assessing the ablation zone after liver tumor ablation.METHODS: Twenty-three patients(17 men and 6 women, range: 45-85 years old, mean age 65 years) with malignant liver tumors underwent ultrasoundguided percutaneous tumor ablation [radiofrequency(n = 14), microwave(n = 9)] followed by intravenous contrast-enhanced CBCT. Baseline multidetector computed tomography(MDCT) and peri-procedural CBCT images were compared. CBCT image quality was assessed as poor, good, or excellent. Image fusion was performed to assess tumor coverage, and quality of fusion was rated as bad, good, or excellent. Ablation zone volumes on peri-procedural CBCT and post-procedural MDCT were compared using the nonparametric paired Wilcoxon t-test.RESULTS: Rate of primary ablation effectiveness was 100%. There were no complications related to ablation. Local tumor recurrence and new liver tumors were found 3 mo after initial treatment in one patient(4%). The ablation zone was identified in 21/23(91.3%) patients on CBCT. The fusion of baseline MDCT and peri-procedural CBCT images was feasible in all patients and showed satisfactory tumor coverage(at least 5-mm margin). CBCT image quality was poor, good, and excellent in 2(9%), 8(35%), and 13(56%), patients respectively. Registration quality between periprocedural CBCT and post-procedural MDCT images was good to excellent in 17/23(74%) patients. The median ablation volume on peri-procedural CBCT and post-procedural MDCT was 30 cm3(range: 4-95 cm3) and 30 cm3(range: 4-124 cm3), respectively(P-value > 0.2). There was a good correlation(r = 0.79) between the volumes of the two techniques. 18Ca2Al2SiO7非化学计量调控实现混合价态Eu(+2,+3)应用于比例型温度传感(英文)显示文摘基于不同价态Eu^2+/Eu^3+的电子结构和电子晶格相互作用的差异, Eu混价共掺杂发光材料在比例型荧光温度传感领域具有应用潜力.本文中,我们制备了具有非化学计量的Ca2Al2Si1-xO7:Eu (x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04)发光材料,基于Si含量的控制,实现了Eu^2+和Eu^3+的共存与调控,并提出了2Ca^2++Si^4+←→Eu^2++Eu^3++Al^3+共取代模型,解释了该体系的晶体结构稳定性与电荷平衡机理.得益于Eu^2+和Eu^3+发光温度依赖差异大,基于Ca2Al2Si1-xO7:Eu发光材料的温度探针呈现出良好温敏性能,其最大绝对灵敏度和相对灵敏度分别为0.024 K-1(303 K)和2.46%K-1(443 K),且信号甄别度高.通过位形坐标曲线分析,揭示了Eu^2+发光表现出强烈温度依赖特性的原因,即:Eu^2+离子5d能级上的电子易通Eu^2+/Eu^3+金属-金属电荷迁移带(IVCT)退激发所致.本工作不仅表明Ca2Al2Si1-xO7:Eu有望应用于非接触式温度传感,同时也证明了具有混合价态Eu的发光材料在光学测温中的应用.胡桃 高妍 Maxim Molokeev 夏志国 张勤远 2019Science China Materials2019,62,12:6

20Do ankle braces provide similar effects on ankle biomechanical variables in subjects with and without chronic ankle instability during landing?显示文摘Purpose:The purpose of this study was to examine effects of a sport version of a semi-rigid ankle brace(ElementTM) and a soft ankle brace (ASO) on ankle biomechanics and ground reaction forces(GRFs) during a drop landing activity in subjects with chronic ankle instability(CAD compared to healthy subjects with no history of CAI. Methods:Ten healthy subjects and 10 subjects who had multiple ankle sprains participated in the study as the control and unstable subjects, respectively.The CAI subjects were age,body mass index and gender matched with the control subjects.The arch index and ankle functions of the subjects were measured in a subject screening session.During the biomechanical test session,participants performed five trials of drop landing from 0.6 m,wearing no brace(NB).Element? brace and ASO brace.Simultaneous recording of three-dimensional kinematic(240 Hz) and GRF(1200 Hz) data were performed. Results:The CAI subjects had lower ankle functional survey scores.The arch index and deformity results showed greater arch deformity of ElementTM against a static load than in NB and ASO due to greater initial arch position held by the brace.CAI participants had greater eversion velocity than healthy controls.The ASO brace reduced the first peak vertical GRF whereas ElementTM increased 2nd peak vertical GRF. ElementTMbrace reduced eversion range of motion(ROM) and peak eversion velocity compared to NB and ASO.In addition,ElementTM reduced dorsiflexion ROM and increased peak plantarflexion moment compared to NB and ASO.
