1Large gangliocytic paraganglioma of the duodenum:A rare entity显示文摘Gangliocytic paragangliomas are rare tumors that almost exclusively occur within the second portion of the duodenum. Although these tumors generally have a benign clinical course, they have the potential to recur or metastasize to regional lymph nodes. The case report presented here describes a 57-year-old female patient with melena, progressive asthenia, anemia, and a mass in the second-third portion of the duodenum that was treated by local excision. The patient was diagnosed with a friable bleeding tumor. The histologic analysis showed that the tumor was a 4 cm gangliocytic paraganglioma without a malignant cell pattern. In the absence of local invasion or distant metastasis, endoscopic resection represents a feasible, curative therapy. Although endoscopic polypectomy is currently considered the treatment of choice, it is not recommended if the size of the tumor is > 3 cm and/or there is active or recent bleeding. Patients diagnosed with a gangliocytic paraganglioma should be closely followed-up for possible local recurrence.Alejandra Gordillo Hernández Eduardo Dominguez-Adame Lanuza Auxiliadora Cano Matias Rosario Perez Huertas Katherine Maria Gallardo Rodriguez Purificacion Gallinato Perez Fernando Oliva Mompean 2015World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2015,7,8:2

4Stem cell homing, tracking and therapeutic efficiency evaluation for stroke treatment using nanoparticles: A systematic review显示文摘BACKGROUND Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide. There is a real need to develop treatment strategies for reducing neurological deficits in stroke survivors, and stem cell(SC)therapeutics appear to be a promising alternative for stroke therapy that can be used in combination with approved thrombolytic or thrombectomy approaches. However, the efficacy of SC therapy depends on the SC homing ability and engraftment into the injury site over a long period of time.Nonetheless, tracking SCs from their niche to the target tissues is a complex process.AIM To evaluate SC migration homing, tracking and therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of stroke using nanoparticles METHODS A systematic literature search was performed to identify articles published prior to November 2019 that were indexed in PubMed and Scopus. The following inclusion criteria were used:(1)Studies that used in vivo models of stroke or ischemic brain lesions;(2)Studies of SCs labeled with some type of contrast agent for cell migration detection;and(3)Studies that involved in vivo cellular homing and tracking analysis.RESULTS A total of 82 articles were identified by indexing in Scopus and Pub Med.Afterthe inclusion criteria were applied,35 studies were selected, and the articles were assessed for eligibility;ultimately, only 25 studies were included. Most of the selected studies used SCs from human and mouse bone marrow labeled with magnetic nanoparticles alone or combined with fluorophore dyes. These cells were administered in the stroke model(to treat middle cerebral artery occlusion in 74%of studies and for photothrombotic induction in 26%of studies).Fiftythree percent of studies used xenogeneic grafts for cell therapy, and the migration homing and tracking evaluation was performed by magnetic resonance imaging as well as other techniques, such as near-infrared fluorescence imaging(12%)or bioluminescence assays(12%).CONCLUSION Our systematic review provided an up-to-date evaluation of SC migration homing and the efficacy of cellular therapy for stroke treatment in terms of functional and structural improvements in the late stage.Mariana Penteado Nucci Igor Salerno Filgueiras Joao Matias Ferreira Fernando Anselmo de Oliveira Leopoldo Penteado Nucci Javier Bustamante Mamani Gabriel Nery Albuquerque Rego Lionel Fernel Gamarra 2020World Journal of Stem Cells2020,12,5:0
5Determination of the Adhesive Content of Medium Density Particleboards Produced with Bio-based Polymer显示文摘This work contributes to the use of alternative adhesives in the wood-based industry, where pine wood is commonly used. The investigation identifies the influence and the optimal content(8,12 and 15wt%)of a bio-based polyurethane adhesive in the production of medium density particleboards(MDP).A compaction pressure of 4 MPa at 100oC for 10 minutes is considered in the manufacture of panels based on pine wood residues and bio-based resin. The bulk density, flexural modulus(MOE)and strength(MOR)properties under static three-point bending are obtained according to the Brazilian standard NBR 14810.The results are compared with NBR 14810 and other standards to verify its performance based on the minimum requirements.Bulk density is not significantly affected by the investigated adhesive levels.MOE and MOR reach average values equivalent to 12wt%and 15wt%of the adhesive, and both meet the minimum requirements established in international normative documents. The adhesive level range responsible for maximizingρ,MOE and MOR is between 12.42wt%and 15.79wt%.Vinícius Borges de Moura Aquino Edson Fernando Castanheira Rodrigues Isabela Matias Pietrobon AndréLuis Christoforo Francisco Antonio Rocco Lahr Tulio Hallak Panzera 2019Journal of Building Material Science2019,1,2:0
