1Dissection of genetic overlap of salt tolerance QTLs at the seedling and tillering stages using backcross introgression lines in rice显示文摘QTLs for salt-tolerance(ST)related traits at the seedling and tillering stages were identified using 99 BC2F8 introgression lines(IL)derived from a cross between IR64(indica)as a recurrent parent and Binam(japonica)from Iran as the donor parent.Thirteen QTLs affecting survival days of seedlings(SDS), score of salt toxicity of leaves(SST),shoot K + concentration(SKC)and shoot Na + concentration(SNC) at the seedling stage and 22 QTLs underlying fresh weight of shoots(FW),tiller number per plant(TN) and plant height(PH)at the tillering stage were identified.Most QTLs detected at the tillering stage showed obvious differential expression to salt stress and were classified into three types based on their differential behaviors.Type I included 11 QTLs which were expressed only under the non-stress condition.Type II included five QTLs expressed in the control and the salt stress conditions,and three of them(QPh5,QPh8 and QTn9)had similar quantity and the same direction of gene effect,suggesting their expression was less influenced by salt stress.Type III included six QTLs which were detectable only under salt stress,suggesting that these QTLs were apparently induced by the stress.Thirteen QTLs affecting trait difference or trait stability of ILs between the stress and non-stress conditions were identified and the Binam alleles at all loci except QPh4,QTn2 and QFw2a decreased trait difference.The three QTLs less influenced by the stress and 13 QTLs affecting trait stability were considered as ST QTLs which contributed to ST.Comparing the distribution of QTLs detected at the seedling and tillering stages,most(69%)of them were genetically independent.Only four were the same or adjacent regions on chromosomes 1,2,8 and 11 harboring ST QTLs detected at the two stages,suggesting that partial genetic overlap of ST across the two stages occurs.It is likely,therefore,to develop ST rice variety for both stages by pyramiding of ST QTLs of different stages or selection against the overlapping QTLs between the two stages via marker-assisted selection(MAS).ZANG JinPing 1 ,SUN Yong 1 ,WANG Yun 1 ,YANG Jing 1 ,LI Fang 1 ,ZHOU YongLi 1 ,ZHU LingHua 1 , Reys JESSICA2,Fotokian MOHAMMADHOSEIN 2,XU JianLong 1&LI ZhiKang 1,2 1Institute of Crop Sciences/National Key Facility for Crop Gene Resources&Genetic Improvement,Chinese Academy of Agricul- tural Sciences,Beijing 100081,China 2International Rice Research Institute,DAPO Box 7777,Metro Manila,Philippines 2008Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,7:32
2Genetic analysis and gene mapping of a new rolled-leaf mutant in rice (Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘To understand the development of rice leaf blades,we identified a new rolled-leaf mutant,w32,from indica cultivar IR64 through EMS mutagenesis. The mutant showed a stable rolled-leaf phenotype throughout the life cycle. Two F2 populations were developed by crossing w32 to cultivar IR24 and PA64. Genetic analysis showed that the rolled-leaf phenotype was controlled by a single recessive gene. To determine the location of the gene,bulked segregant analysis was carried out using mutant and wild-type DNA pools and 1846 mutant-type F2 individuals derived from the cross w32/PA64 were genotyped to locate the gene on the short arm of chromosome 7. The rolled-leaf gene,tentatively named rl11(t),is likely a new gene as no other rolled-leaf genes have been identified near the region. By developing new SSR and InDel markers,the gene was delimited to a 52 kb region near the end of the short chromosome arm. 3CIMMYT小麦puroindoline基因型的进一步鉴定与分析显示文摘目的籽粒硬度是小麦市场分级和定价的重要依据,影响磨粉和食品加工品质。CIMMYT是我国最重要小麦引种地之一,研究其硬度基因型对我国小麦引种具有重要的应用价值。方法以CIMMYT常用的236份小麦亲本和高代品系为材料,采用改进的颗粒指数法、特异引物的PCR扩增和改进的SDS-PAGE凝胶电泳对其SKCS硬度及其puroindoine基因型进行鉴定和分析。结果202份硬质麦中,165份为PINA蛋白缺失类型;37份为Pinb-D1b类型,其中19份为非CIMMYT材料,18份亲本中均含有非CIMMYT材料。在34份软质麦中,有野生型、Pina-D1a/Pinb-D1i、Pina-D1c/Pinb-D1h、Pina-D1j/Pinb-D1i和Pina-D1a/Pinb-D1j共5种基因型。两种硬质类型中,Pina-D1b类型胚乳硬质程度明显高于(PSI硬度显著低于)Pinb-D1b类型;4种软质类型中,Pina-D1c/Pinb-D1h和Pina-D1a/Pinb-D1i类型胚乳硬质程度显著高于(PSI硬度显著低于)Pina-D1j/Pinb-D1i和Pina-D1a/Pinb-D1a类型。通过分析各类型的puroindoline基因序列发现,Pinb-D1h和Pinb-D1i编码同一种氨基酸,突变后仍表现为软质是因为第28位精氨酸变成色氨酸,其余软质变异类型色氨酸丰富区附近均未发生变化,这可能是导致其胚乳质地仍未变硬的主要原因。结论在先前研究基础上,本试验对CIMMYT小麦基因型作了进一步分析,发现系谱中没有外源材料的所有CIMMYT硬质麦均为Pina-D1b类型。从山羊草引进的软质突变类型之间存在一定硬度差异。陈锋 夏先春 Manila William Morten Lillemo Richard Trethowan Roberto J Peňa 何中虎 2006中国农业科学2006,39,8:6
4Interactions among Micronutrient Deficiencies and Undernutrition in the Philippines显示文摘Data gathered from the 1987 National Nutrition Survey in the Philippines provided the opportunity to study the interactions among micronutrient deficiencies and undernutrition in different age groups as basis for program targeting. A randomly selected set of 50% of the households (3,200) covered by the national survey served as source of subjects. Results showed that there was a greater proportion of anemia among the undernourished (as judged by weight for age in children and weight for height in adults) (66.0%)than among the adequately nourished (54.6%) (P <0.01 ). However, the observed differencesin the proportion of serum vitamin A deficiency and of goiter among the undernourished compared to the adequately nourished were not significant. Also not significant were the observed higher prevalence of anemia among subjects with acceptable serum vitamin A levels for both adequately nourished and undernourished, and the higher prevalence of vitamin A deficiency among the non-anemics. Again there were no significant differences in the prevalence of anemia among goitrous and non-goitrous subjects, as well as the prevalence of goiter among anemic and non-anemic subjects. Neither were there significant differences in the prevalence of vitamin A deficiency among goitrous and non-goitrous subjects, but there were significant differences in the prevalence of goiter among vitamin A deficient and non-vitamin A defjcient subjects among the 7-14 years old and among pregnant and lactating women.The study concludes that at the national level, there is apparently an interaction between anemia and protein-energy undernutrition and possibly also between goiter and vitamin A deficiency in the high-risk age groups, but between anemia on the one hand and goiter and vitamin A deficiency in the other, perhaps because of clustering in the latter conditions not found in anemia and general undernutrition. These findings may be useful in targeting communities with high prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies by using prevalence of underweight and goiter as indicators for high prevalence of anemia and vitamin A deficiency,R. 6Combined endovascular-surgical treatment for complex congenital intrahepatic arterioportal fistula: A case report and review of the literature显示文摘BACKGROUND Congenital intrahepatic arterioportal fistula(IAPF) is a rare vascular malformation in infants that causes severe portal hypertension(PH) with poor prognosis if untreated. Currently, radiological embolisation is considered the first-line therapy for simple IAPF; however, it might be not resolutive for complex hepatic vascular lesions. When endovascular embolization is not sufficient to completely obliterate the IAPF, surgical intervention is needed, but it has been associated with severe morbidity and mortality in small children.Furthermore, indications are not defined.CASE SUMMARY We present the first case of a 6-month-old girl with trisomy 21 affected by a complex congenital IAFP, which caused severe PH, successfully treated with an endovascular-surgical hybrid procedure. The novel technique comprised a multistep endovascular embolisation, including a superselective transarterial embolisation of the afferent vessels and a direct transhepatic embolisation of the dilated portal vein segment, combined with selective surgical ligation of the arterial branches that supply the fistula, which were too small to be embolised.The complex IAPF was also associated with severe cholestasis and intra/extrahepatic biliary tree dilatation, which was successfully treated by a temporary biliary drainage. At 24-mo follow-up, the hybrid endovascularsurgical procedure achieved complete occlusion of the complex IAPF and resolution of the PH.
