1First observation of mesospheric and thermospheric winds by a Fabry-Perot interferometer in China显示文摘A Fabry-Perot interferometer,funded by the Meridian Project in China,was deployed at the Xinglong station(40.2°N,117.4°E) of the National Astronomical Observatories in Hebei Province,China.The instrument has been operating since April 2010,measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds.The first observational data of winds at three heights in the mesosphere and thermosphere were analyzed,demonstrating the capacity of this instrument to aid basic scientific research.The wavelengths of three airglow emissions were OH892.0,OI 557.7,and OI 630.0 nm,which corresponded to heights of 87,98,and 250 km,respectively.Three 38-day data sets of horizontal winds,from April 5,2010 to May 12,2010,show clear day-to-day variations at the same height.The minimum and maximum meridional winds at heights of 87,98,and 250 km were-16.5 to 8.7 m/s,-24.4 to 15.9 m/s,and-43.6 to 1.5 m/s.Measurements of zonal winds were-5.4 to 7.6 m/s,2.3 to 23.0 m/s,and-22.6 to 49.3 m/s.The average data from the observations was consistent with the data from HWM93.The wind data at heights of 87 and 98 km suggest a semi-diurnal oscillation,clearly consistent with HWM93 results.Conversely there was a clear discrepancy between the observations and the model at 250 km.In general,this Fabry-Perot interferometer is a useful ground-based instrument for measuring mesospheric and thermospheric winds at middle latitudes.YUAN Wei XU JiYao MA RuiPing WU Qian JIANG GuoYing GAO Hong LIU Xiao CHEN SunZheng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,35:18
2Preferential binding between intracellular organic matters and Al_(13) polymer to enhance coagulation performance显示文摘Coagulation is the best available method for removing intracellular organic matter(IOM),which is released from algae cells and is an important precursor to disinfection by-products in drinking water treatment. To gain insight into the best strategy to optimize IOM removal, the coagulation performance of two Al salts, i.e., aluminum chloride(AlCl_3) and polyaluminum chloride(PACl, containing 81.2% Al_(13)), was investigated to illuminate the effect of Al species distribution on IOM removal. PACl showed better removal efficiency than AlCl_3 with regard to the removal of turbidity and dissolved organic carbon(DOC), owing to the higher charge neutralization effect and greater stability of pre-formed Al_(13) species. High pressure size exclusion chromatography analysis indicated that the superiority of PACl in DOC removal could be ascribed to the higher binding affinity between Al_(13) polymer and the low and medium molecular weight(MW) fractions of IOM. The results of differential log-transformed absorbance at 254 and 350 nm indicated more significant formation of complexes between AlCl_3 and IOM, which benefits the removal of tryptophan-like proteins thereafter. 4Pre-oxidation enhanced cyanobacteria removal in drinking water treatment: A review显示文摘Cyanobacterial bloom has many adverse effects on source water quality and drinking water production. The traditional water treatment process can hardly achieve satisfactory removal of algae cells. This review examines the impact of pre-oxidation on the removal of cyanobacteria by solid-liquid separation processes. It was reported that the introduction of chemical oxidants such as chlorine, potassium permanganate, and ozone in algae-laden water pretreatment could improve algae removal by the subsequent solid-liquid separation processes. However, over dosed oxidants can result in more serious water quality risks due to significant algae cell lysis and undesirable intracellular organic matter release. It was suggested that moderate pre-oxidation may enhance the removal of cyanobacteria without damaging algae cells. 5Comparative transcriptome study provides insights into acquisition of embryogenic ability in upland cotton during somatic embryogenesis显示文摘Background: The conversion from non-embryogenic callus(NEC) to embryogenic callus(EC) is the key bottleneck step in regeneration of upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum), and hinders the transgenic breeding of upland cotton.To investigate molecular mechanisms underlying acquisition of embryogenic potential during this process, comparation analysis of transcriptome dynamics between two upland cotton cultivars with different somatic embryogenesis abilities was conducted.Results: Differentially expressed genes involved in the transformation from NEC to EC were detected in the two different cultivars. Principal component analysis based on DEGs showed that the NEC tissues of the two cultivars were highly heterogeneous, whereas the derived EC tissues were similar, which suggested the homogeneousness of EC between different lines. In the highly embryogenic cultivar CCRI 24, more of these genes were down-regulated, whereas,in the recalcitrant cultivar CCRI 12, more were up-regulated. Bioinformatics analysis on these DEGs showed that the vast majority of differentially expressed genes were enriched in metabolism and secondary metabolites biosynthesis pathways. Flavonoid biosynthesis and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways were enriched in both cultivars,and the associated genes were down-regulated more in CCRI 24 than in CCRI 12. We deduced that vigorous secondary metabolism in CCRI 12 may hinder primary metabolism, resulting in tardiness of cell differentiation.Interestingly, genes involved in the plant hormone signal transduction pathway were enriched in the recalcitrant cultivar CCRI 12 but not in CCRI 24, suggesting more radical regulation of hormone signal transduction in the recalcitrant cultivar. Signal transduction rather than biosynthesis of plant hormones is more likely to be the determining factor triggering NEC to EC transition in recalcitrant cotton lines. Transcription factor encoding genes showed differential regulation between two cultivars.Conclusions: Our study provides valuable information about the molecular mechanism of conversion from NEC to EC in cotton and allows for identification of novel genes involved. 10Performance Improvement of Single Screw Compressor by Meshing Clearance Adjustment Used in Refrigeration System显示文摘The single screw compressor(SSC)is widely used in air compression and refrigeration systems due to its many advantages.The meshing clearance between the screw groove and gate rotor teeth flank has a significant influence on the compressor performance.In this paper,mathematical calculation models describing the internal working process of the SSC are established in order to evaluate the thermal dynamic characteristics of the compressor under varying meshing clearance heights.The refrigerating capacity,volume efficiency and adiabatic efficiency of the SSC are calculated and discussed.Three prototypes,with different meshing clearance heights,were manufactured to study the internal influence mechanisms.The theoretical model was verified using experimental data and the calculation results strongly agreed with the experimental results.Results demonstrate that comparisons of volume efficiency and adiabatic efficiency between the measured and calculated results exhibited deviations of 3.64%-7.98%and 5.92%-9.4%,respectively.Based on the models,analysis under varying meshing clearance heights and working conditions was performed.Taking into account working performance,actual manufacturing conditions and manufacturing cost limitations,a meshing clearance height range from 0.01 mm to 0.08 mm is suggested.This study can provide important theoretical data and experimental support for the design,manufacturing and optimization of single screw compressors.LU Yuanwei LIU Shanwei WU Yuting LEI Biao ZHI Ruiping WEN Qiangyu MA Chongfang 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,1:1

15Age-associated alternations in cardiac β-adrenergic receptor signaling显示文摘During aging, cardiac contractile response to β-AR stimulation is decreased in humans and animal models. Recent studies demonstrate that the positive inotropic effects of both β1-AR and β2-AR stimulation are significantly decreased with aging.This is accompanied by decreases in both β-AR subtype densities and a reduction in membrane adenylyl cyclase activity. 18Optimal Configuration Method for the Installed Capacity of the Solar-Thermal Power Stations显示文摘Because of the randomness of wind power and photovoltaic(PV)output of new energy bases,the problem of peak regulation capability and voltage stability of ultra-high voltage direct current(UHVDC)transmission lines,we proposed an optimum allocation method of installed capacity of the solar-thermal power station based on chance constrained programming in this work.Firstly,we established the uncertainty model of wind power and PV based on the chance constrained planning theory.Then we used the K-medoids clusteringmethod to cluster the scenarios considering the actual operation scenarios throughout the year.Secondly,we established the optimal configuration model based on the objective function of the strongest transient voltage stability and the lowest overall cost of operation.Finally,by quantitative analysis of actual wind power and photovoltaic new energy base,this work verified the feasibility of the proposed method.As a result of the simulations,we found that using the optimal configuration method of solar-thermal power stations could ensure an accurate allocation of installed capacity.When the installed capacity of the solar-thermal power station is 1×106 kW,the transient voltage recovery index(TVRI)is 0.359,which has a strong voltage support capacity for the system.Based on the results of this work,the optimal configuration of the installed capacity of the solar-thermal power plant can improve peak shaving performance,transient voltage support capability,and new energy consumption while satisfying the Direct Current(DC)outgoing transmission premise.Yan Wang Zhicheng Ma Jinping Zhang Qiang Zhou Ruiping Zhang Haiying Dong 2023Energy Engineering2023,120,4:0
19Nonlinear interactions between gravity waves and tides显示文摘In this study, we present the nonlinear interactions between gravity waves (GWs) and tides by using the 2D numerical model for the nonlinear propagation of GWs in the compressible atmosphere. During the propagation in the tidal background, GWs become instable in three regions, that is z = 75―85 km, z = 90―110 km and z = 115―130 km. The vertical wavelength firstly varies gradually from the initial 12 km to 27 km. Then the newly generated longer waves are gradually compressed. The longer and shorter waves occur in the regions where GWs propagate in the reverse and the same direction of the hori-zontal mean wind respectively. In addition, GWs can propagate above the main breaking region (90—110 km). During GWs propagation, not only the mean wind is accelerated, but also the amplitude of tide is amplified. 20Enhanced superelasticity of Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloys with strong orientation prepared by horizontal continuous casting显示文摘The preparation of large-scale Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloys with excellent microstructure and texture is a significant challenge in this field.In this study,large-scale Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloy(SMA)slabs with good surface quality and strong orientation were prepared by the horizontal continuous casting(HCC).The microstructure and mechanical properties were compared with the ordinary casting(OC)Cu-Al-Ni alloy.The results showed that the microstructure of OC Cu-Al-Ni alloy was equiaxed grains with randomly orientation,which had no obvious superelasticity.The alloys producedby Hcchad herringbone grains withstrong orientation near(100)and the cumulative tensile superelasticity of 4.58%.The superelasticity of the alloy produced by HCC has been improved by 4-5 times.This work has preliminarily realized the production of large-scale Cu-Al-Ni SMA slab with good superelasticity,which lays a foundation forexpanding the industrial production and application of Cu-based SMAs.Mengwei WU Yu XIAO Zhuofan HU Ruiping LIU Chunmei MA 2022Frontiers of Materials Science2022,16,4:0
