| 1 | Clinical features of seizures after cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and its effect on outcome among Chinese Han population显示文摘background and purpose Clinical features of epileptic seizures after cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST)among Chinese patients are not known,and it is still controversial whether seizures would affect the outcome of CVST.Methods In a Chinese hospital-based study of consecutive patients with CVST between 2003 and 2015,we described the clinical features of seizures and determined the predictors of seizure onset using multivariable logistic regression analysis.We also compared the in-hospital case-fatality and short-term functional outcome(modified Rankin Scale(mRS)at discharge)in patients with versus without seizures using ordinal regression analysis.results Among 151 patients with CVST,52(34.4%)presented seizures,of which 42(80.8%)were generalised seizures.Male gender(OR 6.32,95% CI 2.06 to 19.35,p=0.001),motor deficits(OR 4.89,95% CI 1.52 to 15.68,p=0.008),intracerebral haemorrhage(OR 3.93,95% CI 1.16 to 13.26,p=0.027),cerebral infarction(OR 3.78,95% CI 1.15 to 12.36,p=0.029)and superior sagittal sinus thrombosis(OR 3.38,95% CI 91.16 to 9.86,p=0.026)were independent predictors for seizures.The overall in-hospital case-fatality rate was 2.0%(3/151),and 21(13.9%)had mRS>2 at discharge.Compared with patients without seizures,patients with seizures were more likely to have a worse outcome(p=0.02)at discharge,independent of age,gender,clinical presentation,clot burden and presence of parenchymal lesions.conclusions In Chinese Han patients,compared with patients without seizures,patients with seizures after CVST had a worse outcome.Risk factors such as male gender,paresis,parenchymal lesion and superior sagittal sinus thrombosis were independently associated with seizure onset after CVST.Generalised seizure was the main form of seizures after CVST,which was obviously different to seizures after strokes of arterial origin. | Hongyan Ding Yanan Xie Linxin Li Heling Chu Yuping Tang Qiang Dong Mei Cui | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,4: | 8 |
| 2 | Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–3Al–Zn Magnesium Alloy Sheet by Hot Shear Spinning显示文摘Hot shear spinning experiments with Mg–3.0 Al–1.0 Zn–0.5 Mn(AZ31 B, wt%) magnesium alloy sheets were conducted at various temperatures, spindle speeds and feed ratios to investigate the effects of these processing parameters on the microstructure, crystallographic texture and mechanical properties. The AZ31 B sheet displayed good shear formability at temperatures from 473 to 673 K, spindle speeds from 300 to 600 rev/min and feed ratios from 0.1 to 0.5 mm/rev. During the dynamic recrystallization process, the grain size and texture were affected by the deformation temperature of the hot shear spinning process. Each of the spun sheets presented a strong basal texture, and the c-axis of most of the grains was parallel to the normal direction. The optimal hot shear spinning parameters were determined to be a temperature of 473 K, a spindle speed of 300 rev/min and a feed ratio of 0.1 mm/rev. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation in the rolled direction reached 221 MPa, 288 MPa and 14.1%, and those in the transverse direction reached 205 MPa, 280 MPa and 12.4%, respectively. | 3 | Simulation research on monomer agglomeration of nonmetallic inclusions in steel with a diffusion limited aggregation model显示文摘The monomer agglomeration of nonmetallic inclusions was simulated with a diffusion limited aggregation (DLA) model of thefractal theory. The simulation study with a random two-dimensional diffusion was carried out. The results indicate that the DLA model canbe used for the simulation of agglomeration behavior of the cluster-type inclusions. The morphology of clusters was observed with SEMand compared with the simulated agglomerates. The modelling procedure of the DLA model is applicable for the agglomeration process.The uncertainty of agglomeration process and the persuasive average agglomerative ratio was analyzed. The factors about the agglomera-tive ratio with the collision path distance and the size of particles or seed were discussed. | 4 | Reliable sensors based on graphene textile with negative resistance variation in three dimensions显示文摘The weft-knitted reduced graphene oxide(r-GO)textile that is made up of many conductive r-GO coated fibers was successfully prepared dependent on the electrospray deposition technique.Interestingly,the r-GO textile presents negative resistance variation not only in axial direction as the pressure increases but also in transverse direction as the lateral stretch increases which makes it has the advantage to fabricate the reliable sensors based on strain-resistance effect.The transverse-strain and pressure sensors based on the r-GO textiles all show the excellent sensing characteristics such as high sensitivity,reliability,and good durability,etc.The maximum gauge factors(GF)of the transverse-sensor are 27.1 and 153.5 in the x-and/-direction,respectively.And the practical detection range can up to 40%in the x-direction and 35%in the y-direction,respectively.The r-GO textile pressure sensor also shows high sensitivity for a broad pressure range that with a GF up to 716.8 kPa-1 for less than 4.5 kPa region and still has more sensitive pressure sensing characteristics even the pressure goes up to 14 kPa.Based on those good performances of r-GO textile sensors,its potential applications in human body states monitoring have been studied. | Wenpeng Han Yijun Wu He Gong Linxin Liu Junxiang Yan Mengfei Li Yunze Long Guozhen Shen | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,8: | 2 |

| 6 | Associations of blood biomarkers with glomerular filtration rate in patients with TIA and stroke: population-based study显示文摘Background and purpose Non-traditional risk factors such as chronic inflammation,oxidative stress and thrombogenic factors are believed to contribute to the excess stroke risk in chronic kidney disease(CKD)by triggering vascular injury and endothelial dysfunction.We aimed to determine how well a panel of biomarkers representative of these factors would correlate with estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)in patients with recent transient ischaemic attack(TIA)or stroke.We also investigated whether eGFR would confound previously reported associations between biomarkers and mortality.Methods We studied a panel of 16 blood biomarkers related to inflammation,thrombosis,atherogenesis and cardiac or neuronal cell damage in TIA or ischaemic stroke in a population-based study(Oxford Vascular Study).Biomarker levels were log-transformed and correlated with eGFR,adjusted for age.Cox proportional hazard models were used for survival analysis.Results Among 1297 patients with TIA or stroke,52.7%(n=684)of patients had CKD(eGFR<60 mL/min/1.73 m^(2)).There was a moderate correlation between log-eGFR and the log-transformed soluble tumour necrosis factor receptor-1(R^(2)=0.21),attenuating with adjustment for age(R^(2)=0.12).There were moderate-to strong correlations with markers of cardiac injury,N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide and heart-type fatty acid binding protein(hFABP,R2=0.14 and 0.34,respectively).The strongest correlation after adjustment for age was between hFABP and eGFR(R^(2)=0.20).Adjusting for eGFR did not impact any biomarker associations with mortality.Conclusions Correlations between biomarkers related to inflammation and thrombosis with renal dysfunction in the setting of cerebrovascular events were generally modest after adjustment for age,suggesting that putative risk factors such as chronic inflammation or coagulopathy are unlikely to be important stroke mechanisms in patients with CKD. | Dearbhla M.Kelly Linxin Li Annette I Burgess Deborah L Poole Julia M Duerden Peter M.Rothwell | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1: | 1 |

| 8 | Base-free selective oxidation of monosaccharide into sugar acid by surface-functionalized carbon nanotube composites显示文摘Selective oxidation of biomass-derived monosaccharide into high value-added chemicals is highly desirable from sustainability perspectives.Herein,we demonstrate a surface-functionalized carbon nanotubesupported gold(Au/CNT-O and Au/CNT-N)catalyst for base-free oxidation of monosaccharide into sugar acid.Au/CNT-O and Au/CNT-N surfaces successfully introduced oxygen-and nitrogen-containing functional groups,respectively.The highest yields of gluconic acid and xylonic acid were 93.3%and 94.3%,respectively,using Au/CNT-N at 90℃ for 240 min,which is higher than that of using Au/CNT-O.The rate constants for monosaccharide decomposition and sugar acid formation in Au/CNT-N system were higher,while the corresponding activation energy was lower than in Au/CNT-O system.DFT calculation revealed that the mechanism of glucose oxidation to gluconic acid involves the adsorption and activation of O_(2),adsorption of glucose,dissociation of the formyl C-H bond and formation of O-H bond,and formation and desorption of gluconic acid.The activation energy barrier for the glucose oxidation over Au/CNT-N is lower than that of Au/CNT-O.The nitrogen-containing functional groups are more beneficial for accelerating monosaccharide oxidation and enhancing sugar acid selectivity than oxygen-containing functional groups.This work presents a useful guidance for designing and developing highly active catalysts for producing high-value-added chemicals from biomass. | Zengyong Li Di Li Linxin Zhong Xuehui Li Chuanfu Liu Xinwen Peng | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,11: | 0 |
| 9 | Huge pyogenic liver abscess(PLA)in an elderly patient with dia-betes following the pancreaticoduodenectomy显示文摘We described an elderly female with type 2 diabetes referred to our hospital with fever, nausea and upper abdominal pain. The patient had got duodenal tumor and received the pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)12 years ago. The laboratory examinations revealed white blood cells(WBC)increasing and severe hypocalcemia. Abdominal computed tomography(CT)revealed a huge gas-forming pyogenic liver abscess(PLA)in left lobe of the liver. The patient got cured after correction of calcium metabolism disorders, treatment with antibiotic and receiving percutaneous tube drainage. We concluded that we should remain on high alert of those patients with DM and the history of cancer, when he or she gets fever of unknown origin and abdominal tenderness.
