| 1 | Natural^(15)N abundance in soils and plants in relation to N cycling in a rangeland in Inner Mongolia显示文摘Aims Natural 15N abundance provides integrated information about nitrogen(N)input,transformation and output,indirectly reflecting N cycling traits within terrestrial ecosystems.However,relationships between natural 15N abundance and N cycling processes are poorly understood in China.Here,our primary objectives were to(i)examine the effects of grazing at varying levels of intensity on d15N of soils and plants in a semi-arid grassland;(ii)detect the relationships between d15N of soils and four major N cycling processes(i.e.mineralization,nitrification,denitrification and ammonia volatilization);and(iii)determine whether d15N of soils can be used as an indicator of N cycling in this semi-arid grassland.Methods The field experiment was conducted within the long-term(17-year)grazing enclosures in a semi-arid grassland in Inner Mongolia.Five grazing intensities(0.00,1.33,2.67,4.00 and 5.33 sheep ha1)were designed.d15N values of topsoils(0–10 cm),surface soils(0–2 cm)and plants were measured in 2006.Differences in d15N of soils and plants between the five grazing intensities were examined.Rates of four soil N cycling processes were measured periodically during the 2005 and 2006 growing seasons.The d15N values of topsoils were linked to the four N cycling processes to investigate their relationships.Important Findings The d15N values of topsoils(5.20–5.96&)were substantially higher than the d15N values of plants(2.51–2.93&)and surface soils(1.44–2.92&)regardless of grazing intensities.The 15N-depleted N losses during microbial decomposition of organic matter in concert with the downward movement of residual substrate over time are the possible causes of higher d15N values in topsoils than in surface soils.In addition,the d15N values of topsoils were positively correlated with the d15N values of both plants and surface soils.Grazing,especially the high-intensity grazing(5.33 sheep ha1),resulted in a significant decrease in d15N of surface soils.However,no statistically significant variations in d15N of topsoils and plants were found in response to grazing.The d15N values of topsoils exhibited significant dependence on the cumulative rates of NH3 volatilization,net nitrification and denitrification in 2005 but not in 2006. | Yuqing Xu Jicheng He Weixin Cheng Xuerong Xing Linghao Li | 2010 | Journal of Plant Ecology2010,3,3: | 12 |

| 3 | Microbiota transplantation reveals beneficial impact of berberine on hepatotoxicity by improving gut homeostasis显示文摘Berberine has been shown to reduce acute liver injury although the underlying mechanism is not fully understood. Because of the anatomic connection, the liver is constantly exposed to gut-derived bacterial products and metabolites. In this study, we showed that berberine has beneficial effects on both hepatotoxicity and intestinal damage in a rat model of chronic or acute liver injury. Microbiota transplantation from the rats with chronic hepatotoxicity could aggravate acute hepatotoxicity in mice treated with diethylnitrosamine(DEN). In rat models with gut homeostasis disruption induced by penicillin or dextran sulfate sodium(DSS), their fecal microbiota could also cause an enhanced hepatotoxicity of recipient mice. When treated with berberine,the DSS-induced enteric dysbacteriosis could be mitigated and their fecal bacteria were able to reduce acute hepatotoxicity in recipient mice. This study indicates that berberine could improve intestinal dysbacteriosis, which reduces the hepatotoxicity caused by pathological or pharmacological intervention. | 4 | Tribological properties of nanometer cerium oxide as additives in lithium grease显示文摘This paper presents a comparative study of the influence of nanometer-CeO_2(nano-CeO_2) and temperature on tribological and lubricating properties of lithium grease. The morphology and structure of nanocrystals were characterized by means of transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD), respectively. Friction and wear tests were conducted on the friction and wear tester.Results show that the lithium grease with addition of nanometer-CeO_2 has much better friction-reducing and anti-wear performance than that of base grease. When the additive in grease is 0.6 wt%, the friction coefficient(COF) and wear scar diameter(WSD) decrease by 28% and 13% comparing with base grease,respectively. The base grease and grease with 0.6 wt% nanometer-CeO_2 both possess the lowest average COF and wear width at 50 ℃. The worn surface morphology after friction test was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and NANOVEA three-dimensional profilometer. Under the lubrication of the lithium grease containing 0.6 wt% nano-CeO_2. few shallow furrows can be observed on the quite smoothed surface and the WSD decreased. | 7 | Responses of gross primary productivity to different sizes of precipitation events in a temperate grassland ecosystem in Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Changes in the sizes of precipitation events in the context of global climate change may have profound impacts on ecosystem productivity in arid and semiarid grasslands. However, we still have little knowledge about to what extent grassland productivity will respond to an individual precipitation event. In this study, we quantified the duration, the maximum, and the time-integrated amount of the response of daily gross primary productivity(GPP) to an individual precipitation event and their variations with different sizes of precipitation events in a typical temperate steppe in Inner Mongolia, China. Results showed that the duration of GPP-response(τR) and the maximum absolute GPP-response(GPPmax) increased linearly with the sizes of precipitation events(Pes), driving a corresponding increase in time-integrated amount of the GPP-response(GPPtotal) because variations of GPPtotal were largely explained by τR and GPPmax. The relative contributions of these two parameters to GPPtotal were strongly Pes-dependent. The GPPmax contributed more to the variations of GPPtotal when Pes was relatively small(<20 mm), whereas τR was the main driver to the variations of GPPtotal when Pes was relatively large. In addition, a threshold size of at least 5 mm of precipitation was required to induce a GPP-response for the temperate steppe in this study. | 8 | Adsorptive removal of nitrogen-containing compounds from fuel by metal-organic frameworks显示文摘The adsorptive denitrogenation from fuels over three metal-organic frameworks(MIL-96(Al),MIL-53(Al)and MIL-101(Cr))was studied by batch adsorption experiments.Four nitrogen-containing compounds(NCCs)pyridine,pyrrole,quinoline and indole were used as model NCCs in fuels to study the adsorption mechanism.The physicochemical properties of the adsorbents were characterized by XRD,N2physical adsorption,FT-IR spectrum and Hammett indicator method.The metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),especially the MIL-101(Cr)containing Lewis acid sites as well as high specific surface area,can adsorb large quantities of NCCs from fuels.In addition,the adsorptive capacity over MIL-101(Cr)will be different for NCCs with different basicity.The stronger basicity of the NCC is,the more it can be absorbed over MIL-101(Cr).Furthermore,pore size and shape also affect the adsorption capacity for a given adsorbate,which can be proved by the adsorption over MIL-53(Al)and MIL-96(Al).The pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir equation can be used to describe kinetics and thermodynamics of the adsorption process,respectively.Finally,the regeneration of the used adsorbent has been conducted successfully by just washing it with ethanol. | Zhaoyang Wang Zhiguo Sun Linghao Kong Gang Li | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,6: | 4 |
| 9 | Retrograde metamorphism of the eclogite in North Qaidam,western China:Constraints by joint ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar in vacuo crushing and stepped heating显示文摘Two amphiboles and a syn-metamorphic quartz vein from the Yuka terrane,North Qaidam,western China,have been analyzed by joint ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar crushing in vacuo and stepwise heating techniques.The crushing in vacuo results provide information to directly constrain the timing of fluid activity and the age of amphibolite-facies retrogression.The stepwise heating results could further be used to decipher the thermal history of the UHP rocks.Amphiboles from amphibolites and quartz vein within garnetamphibolite lens analyzed by in vacuo crushing yield similarly shaped age spectra and exhibit relatively flat age plateaus for the last several steps.The characteristics of gas release patterns and geochronological data testify to the presence of significant excess ^(40)Ar within the fluid inclusions.The age plateaux with weighted mean ages(WMA) ranges from 488 to 476 Ma for amphiboles and 403 Ma for quartz(2σ).These data points constitute amphibole WMA yielding excellent isochrons with isochron ages of 469 and 463 Ma with initial ^(40)Ar/^(36)Ar ratios of 520 and 334,respectively.The isochron ages are interpreted to represent initial amphibolite-facies retrogression.The data points constituting the quartz age plateaux give an isochron age of 405 Ma with initial ^(40)Ar/^(36)Ar ratio of 295,recording a significant aqueous fluid flow episode during the early Devonian.Age spectra obtained by stepwise heating of amphibole residues remaining after crushing experiments are characterized by younger and relatively complex age spectra,which are probably influenced by the combined effects of resetting argon and/or mineral inclusions.Nevertheless,we note that the spectra shapes have features in common:excluding the last two steps,minimum apparent ages are found at temperatures of around 500 ℃,corresponding to319 and 249 Ma,perhaps representing the time of isotopic resetting or resulting from release gas from mineral inclusions of,e.g.,biotite or feldspar.Maximum apparent ages are obtained at temperatures of around 800℃,corresponding to 418 and 413 Ma,which probably reflect mixed ages of radiogenic resetting and original amphibole.These results indicate that the Yuka eclogites and their retrogressed equivalents were overprinted by multiple thermal events in the Silurian and possibly as young as the Triassic. | Rongguo Hu Jan Wijbrans Fraukje Brouwer Linghao Zhao Min Wang Huaning Qiu | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,5: | 4 |
| 10 | Mantle Source Components and Magmatic Evolution for the Comei Large Igneous Province:Evidence from the Early Cretaceous Niangzhong Mafic Magmatism in Tethyan Himalaya显示文摘The Niangzhong diabase dikes,dated at 138.1±0.4 Ma,are located within the outcrop area of the Comei large igneous province(LIP).These diabase samples can be divided into two groups:samples in Group 1 show varying MgO(1.50 wt.%-10.25 wt.%)and TiO_(2)(0.85 wt.%-4.63 wt.%)contents,and enriched initial isotope compositions(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(t)=0.7056-0.7112,ε_(Nd)(t)=-0.3-+3.8),with OIB-like REEs and trace elements patterns,resulting from low degree melting of garnet-bearing lherzolite mantle sources;in contrast,samples in Group 2 show limited MgO(4.14 wt.%-7.75 wt.%)and TiO_(2)(0.98 wt.%-1.69 wt.%)contents,and depleted initial isotope compositions(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(t)=0.7075-0.7112,ε_(Nd)(t)=+5.5-+6.2),with N-MORB-like REEs and trace elements patterns,resulting from relatively high degree melting of spinel-bearing lherzolite mantle source.Combined with the published representative data about Comei LIP,we summarize that the source components for Comei LIP products include OIB end-member,enriched OIB end-member,and N-MORB end-member,respectively.Melts modeling suggests that magmas in the Comei LIP evolve in a relatively high oxygen fugacity condition,which influenced their fractionation sequences and led to systematic changes of TiO_(2)contents,Ti/Y and Ti/Ti*ratios.From the spatial and temporal distribution of above three end-member samples,deep process of Kerguelen plume during the Comei LIP formation can be interpreted as the interaction among the Kerguelen plume,the overlying lithospheric mantle,and the upwelling asthenosphere.The magmatism of Comei LIP began at~140 Ma and then lasted and peaked at~132 Ma with the progressively lithospheric thinning of eastern Gondwana upon the impact of Kerguelen plume. | Yaying Wang Lingsen Zeng Kejun Hou Li'e Gao Qian Wang Linghao Zhao Jiahao Gao Guangxu Li | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022,33,1: | 3 |
| 11 | Spatial variation of net radiation and its contribution to energy balance closures in grassland ecosystems显示文摘Introduction:Low energy balance closure(EBC)at a particular eddy-covariance flux site has increased the uncertainties of carbon,water,and energy measurements and has thus hampered the urgent research of scaling up and modeling analyses through site combinations in regional or global flux networks.Methods:A series of manipulative experiments were conducted in this study to explore the role of net radiation(Rn)in the EBC in relation to spatial variability of vegetation characteristics,source area,and sensor type in three sites of the Inner Mongolian grassland of northern China.Results:At all three sites,the residual fluxes of EBC peaked consistently at 110 W m^(-2).The spatial variability in net radiation was 19 W m^(-2)(5%of R_(n))during the day and 7 W m^(-2)(16%)at night,with an average of 13 W m^(-2)(11%)from eight plot measurements across the three sites.Large area measurements of Rn significantly increased by 9 W m^(-2)during the day and decreased by 4 W m^(-2)at night in the unclipped treatments.Net radiation decreased by 25 W m^(-2)(6%of Rn)at midday and 81 MJ m^(-2)(6%)during a growing season with heavier regular clipping than that in unclipped treatments.The Rn was lower by 11–21 W m^(-2)(~20–40%of Rn)measured by CNR1 than by Q7.1 at night,while there was only 6 W m^(-2)(~1–2%of Rn)difference during the daytime between these two types of commonly used net radiometers.Conclusions:Overall,the inclusion of the uncertainty in available energy accounted for 65%of the~110 W m^(-2)shortfalls in the lack of closure.Clearly,the unclosed energy balance at these three grassland sites remains significant,with unexplored mechanisms for future research. | Changliang Shao Linghao Li Gang Dong Jiquan Chen | 2014 | Ecological Processes2014,3,1: | 3 |
| 12 | Tomographic SAR imaging with large elevation aperture: a P-band small UAV demonstration显示文摘Elevation resolution is an important indicator in tomographic SAR imaging as it represents the ability to discriminate closed targets in elevation. In general, the elevation resolution is proportional to the length of the elevation aperture. However, as the elevation aperture increases, the geometric consistency of the image will undesirably deteriorate and hence fails the image coregistration approach required by the traditional super-resolution tomographic imaging. In this paper, a new super-resolution tomographic imaging method is proposed to overcome the inconsistency problem caused by the large elevation aperture. The core strategy is to get rid of two-dimensional image coregistration by applying a three-dimensional(3 D) back projection like imaging manner: the 3 D space is firstly divided into a 3 D imaging grid, each of which is individually imaged via compressive sensing for super-resolution. | 13 | Biochar Supported Nanoscale Zero-valent Iron Composites for the Removal of Petroleum from Wastewater显示文摘Considering the need for efficiently and rapidly treating oily wastewater while preventing secondary pollution,the nanoscale zero-valent iron(nZVI)was supported on biochar prepared by using a spent mushroom substrate(SMS),to produce an iron-carbon composite(SMS-nZVI).The ability of the SMS-nZVI to treat wastewater containing high concentration of oil was then comprehensively evaluated.The morphology,structure,and other properties of the composite were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller nitrogen sorption analysis,and the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The results show that the biochar prepared by using the SMS can effectively prevent the agglomeration of nZVI and increase the overall specific surface area,thereby enhancing the absorption of petroleum by the composite.Experiments reveal that compared with the SMS and nZVI,the SMS-nZVI composite removes petroleum faster and more efficiently from wastewater.Under optimized conditions involving an nZVI to biochar mass ratio of 1:5 and a pH value of 4,the efficiency for removal of petroleum from wastewater with an initial petroleum concentration of 1000 mg/L could reach 95%within 5 h.Based on a natural aging treatment involving exposure to air for 30 d,the SMS-nZVI composite retained an oil removal rate of higher than 62%,and this result could highlight its stability for practical applications. | Qin Feifei Xu Wenfei Hao Boyu Yin Linghao Song Jiayu Zhang Xiuxia | 2021 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,4: | 2 |
| 14 | Rutile to Titanite Transformation in Eclogites and its Geochemical Consequences:An Example from the Sumdo Eclogite,Tibet显示文摘The formation of titanite coronae after rutile is common in retrograde high-to ultrahigh-pressure meta-mafic rocks,which provides a good opportunity to address the geochemical behavior of HFSE in crustal environments.In the Sumdo eclogite,titanite occurs either as a corona around rutile grains or as semi-continuous veins cross-cutting the major foliation,whereas rutile grains occur either as inclusions in garnet or omphacite or as a relict core surrounded by titanite.Textural relationships and trace elements characteristics of rutile and titanite with different occurrences indicate that both minerals preferentially incorporate Nb and Hf over Ta and Zr in aqueous fluid.Moreover,the breakdown of omphacite and epidote could release substantial amounts of aqueous fluids enriched in Ca,Si,Fe and REE,which would react with rutile to form titanite coronae and veins.During this process,water-insoluble elements,like HFSE and HREE,behave like mobile elements,but they do not migrate substantially out of the system,instead,tending to react in situ.This suggests that the aqueous fluids released during the retrograde metamorphic reactions in mafic rocks could not substantially transfer fluidimmobile elements into the overlying mantle wedge in subduction environments. | ZHAO Linghao ZENG Lingsen GAO Li’e HU Mingyue SUN Dongyang ZHANG Lifei | 2023 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2023,97,1: | 2 |
| 15 | Real-time observation of vortex mode switching in a narrow-linewidth mode-locked fiber laser显示文摘Temporal and spatial resonant modes are always possessed in physical systems with energy oscillation.In ultrafast fiber lasers,enormous progress has been made toward controlling the interactions of many longitudinal modes,which results in temporally mode-locked pulses.Recently,optical vortex beams have been extensively investigated due to their quantized orbital angular momentum,spatially donut-like intensity,and spiral phase front.In this paper,we have demonstrated the first to our knowledge observation of optical vortex mode switching and their corresponding pulse evolution dynamics in a narrow-linewidth mode-locked fiber laser.The spatial mode switching is achieved by incorporating a dual-resonant acousto-optic mode converter in the vortex mode-locked fiber laser.The vortex mode-switching dynamics have four stages,including quiet-down,relaxation oscillation,quasi mode-locking,and energy recovery prior to the stable mode-locking of another vortex mode.The evolution dynamics of the wavelength shifting during the switching process are observed via the time-stretch dispersion Fourier transform method.The spatial mode competition through optical nonlinearity induces energy fluctuation on the time scale of ultrashort pulses,which plays an essential role in the mode-switching dynamic process.The results have great implications in the study of spatial mode-locking mechanisms and ultrashort laser applications. | Jiafeng Lu Fan Shi Linghao Meng Longkun Zhang Linping Teng Zhengqian Luo Peiguang Yan Fufei Pang Xianglong Zeng | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,7: | 2 |
