| 2 | Effects of sterilization treatments on the analysis of TOC in water samples显示文摘Decomposition experiments conducted with and without microbial processes are commonly used to study the effects of environmental microorganisms on the degradation of organic pollutants.However,the effects of biological pretreatment (sterilization) on organic matter often have a negative impact on such experiments.Based on the principle of water total organic carbon (TOC) analysis,the effects of physical sterilization treatments on determination of TOC and other water quality parameters were investigated.The results revealed that two conventional physical sterilization treatments,autoclaving and 60 Co γ-radiation sterilization,led to the direct decomposition of some organic pollutants,resulting in remarkable errors in the analysis of TOC in water samples.Furthermore,the extent of the errors varied with the intensity and the duration of sterilization treatments.Accordingly,a novel sterilization method for water samples,0.45 μm micro-filtration coupled with ultraviolet radiation (MCUR),was developed in the present study.The results indicated that the MCUR method was capable of exerting a high bactericidal effect on the water sample while significantly decreasing the negative impact on the analysis of TOC and other water quality parameters.Before and after sterilization treatments,the relative errors of TOC determination could be controlled to lower than 3% for water samples with different categories and concentrations of organic pollutants by using MCUR. | Yiming Shi Lingfeng Xu Dongqin Gong Jun Lu | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5: | 3 |

| 4 | Mycorrhizas Affect Polyphyllin Accumulation of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis through Promoting PpSE Expression显示文摘Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant,in which polyphyllin as the main medicinal component is an important secondary metabolite with bioactivity.Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)have multiple positive effects on plants,while it is not clear whether AMF increase the content of medicinal components in medicinal plants.In this study,a total of nine AMF treatments were laid to analyze the mycorrhizal effect on polyphyllin accumulation and PpHMGR and PpSE expression of P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis.AMF increased the content of polyphyllin in the cultivated variety with low relation to the increase of inoculation intensity.Polyphyllin I,II,and VII were identified and partly improved by AMF inoculation,dependent on AMF treatments and culture environments.Similarly,the PpHMGR and PpSE expression was induced by mycorrhization,dependent on AMF species,whilst the induction was more obvious in PpSE than in PpHMGR after mycorrhization.It concluded that the symbiotic relationship between P.polyphylla var.yunnanensis and AMF increased polyphyllin content level in the plant,which was associated with the up-regulation of PpSE transcripts. | Hailing Li Lingfeng Xu Zhuowei Li Shunxin Zhao Dongqin Guo Lu Rui Nong Zhou | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,5: | 2 |

| 6 | A novel therapeutic vaccine based on graphene oxide nanocomposite for tumor immunotherapy显示文摘With an intensive understanding of the mechanism of immune system,developing a therapeutic tumor vaccine is one of the most perspective strategy of cancer immunotherapy.In this study,we report a facile approach to prepare graphene oxide(GO)-based therapeutic cancer-nanovaccine.The model antigen(ovalbumin,OVA)and adjuvant(CpG ODN),are conjugated with GO-PEI nanosheet through electrostatic interaction.The addition of PEG can improve biocompatibility and prevent nanoparticle aggregation.The prepared GO-based nanovaccine,GO-PEI-OVA-PEG-CpG,exhibits good biocompatibility and low toxicity both in vivo and in vitro.More importantly,it can efficiently induce the maturation of dendritic cells(DCs),the enhancement of antigen cross-presentation ability,and the amplification of cytokine production of immune cells.Impressively,this nanovaccine shows a remarkable therapeutic effect against preestablished B16-OVA-melanoma tumors,which can significantly inhibit tumor growth and prolong the survival time of the OVA-expressed tumor-bearing mice.Moreover,combining GO-PEI-OVA-PEG-CpG with NLG919,an IDO-1(indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase)inhibitor which can regulate the tumor microenvironment,displays a synergistic therapeutic effect.These findings indicate the GO-PEI-OVA-PEG-CpG nanovaccine actively induces an antigen-specific antitumor immune response and it combined with NLG919 could achieve better therapeutic outcomes. | Liming Zhang Lingfeng Xu Yi Wang Jieyu Liu Guanghong Tan Fengying Huang Nongyue He Zhuoxuan Lu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8: | 1 |

| 9 | Improved methodology for efficient establishment of the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion model in pigs through the median thoracic incision显示文摘To investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of establishing porcine ischemia-reperfusion models by ligating the left anterior descending(LAD)coronary artery,we first randomly divided 16 male Bama pigs into a sham group and a model group.After anesthesia,we separated the arteries and veins.Subsequently,we rapidly located the LAD coronary artery at the beginning of its first diagonal branch through a mid-chest incision.Then,we loosened and released the ligation line after five minutes of pre-occlusion.Finally,we ligated the LAD coronary artery in situ two minutes later and loosened the ligature 60 min after ischemia.Compared with the sham group,electrocardiogram showed multiple continuous lead ST-segment elevations,and ultrasound cardiogram showed significantly lower ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening at one hour and seven days post-operation in the model group.Twenty-four hours after the operation,cardiac troponin T and creatine kinase-MB isoenzyme levels significantly increased in the model group,compared with the sham group.Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed the presence of many inflammatory cells infiltrating the interstitium of the myocardium in the model group but not in the sham group.Masson staining revealed a significant increase in infarct size in the ischemia/reperfusion group.All eight pigs in the model group recovered with normal sinus heart rates,and the survival rate was 100%.In conclusion,the method can provide an accurate and stable large animal model for preclinical research on ischemia/reperfusion with a high success rate and homogeneity of the myocardial infarction area. | Liuhua Zhou Jiateng Sun Tongtong Yang Sibo Wang Tiankai Shan Lingfeng Gu Jiawen Chen Tianwen Wei Di Zhao Chong Du Yulin Bao Hao Wang Xiaohu Lu Haoliang Sun Meng Lv Di Yang Liansheng Wang | 2023 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,4: | 1 |
| 10 | Study of the Effect of Bacterial Resistance Monitoring in Clinical Microbiology Testing显示文摘Objective:To observe and analyze the effect of bacterial resistance monitoring in clinical microbiology testing.Methods:600 microbial specimens collected in our hospital in the past year(April 2021 to April 2022)were used as the test subjects of this study.The specimens were divided into Group A(control group)and Group B(research group),with 300 cases in each group.Group A consisted of blood culture specimens,while Group B consisted of sputum specimens.After the tests were completed,the rates of unfavorable and favorable results,bacterial species distribution,and bacterial drug resistance of the specimens in both groups were compared.Results:Among group A specimens,29 cases were positive(9.67%)and 271 cases were negative(90.33%);among group B specimens,99 cases were positive(33.00%)and 201 cases were negative(66.00%);the difference between the two groups of data was statistically significant(P<0.05).As for the distribution of the types of bacteria,there were 472 cases of Gram-negative bacteria and 128 cases of Gram-positive bacteria.Conclusion:Bacterial resistance monitoring is helpful in clinical microbiology testing.Through proper monitoring,bacterial resistance can be well understood.In this way,patients get to receive appropriate treatment measures and suitable antibacterial prescriptions,thereby improving the patient outcome. | Lingfeng Lu Jie Mou Kun Wu Ju Luo | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Nursing Research2023,7,6: | 0 |
| 11 | A four-dimensional interaction-based appraisal approach towards the performance enhancement of a vehicular waste heat recovery system显示文摘The non-linear multifactorial impacts on fuel-saving potential constrain the practical performance of the vehicular waste heat recovery system(WHRS). This study proposed a four-dimensional interaction-based appraisal approach to interpreting these impacts for enhancing WHRS's in-vehicle performance. The interaction incorporates a heat exchanger, configuration, engine,and vehicle. The proposed approach comprises two successive steps, emphasizing evaluation under the rated(Step 1) and off-design(Step 2) heat source conditions. A case study of waste heat recovery from a passenger vehicle was conducted to evaluate the in-vehicle performance of a novel co-split system and two single-split ones(with/without a regenerator) through this approach. The novel system theoretically modifies vehicular performance but remains ambiguous concerning real-world behaviour, which is assessed and verified by the proposed approach. Two key factors determining vehicular performance were identified by Step 1, namely, net power output and engine backpressure. As the co-split system modified both factors, its fuel-saving potential could be increased by up to 20.3% compared with single-split systems. Also, the limiting factor for off-design performance was pinpointed by Step 2, namely, the mismatch between the heat source and working fluid, which led to the solution, i.e., the synergistic split regulation of the working fluid and heat source. An up to 8.8% improvement in net power output was achieved by the co-split system at off-design heat sources compared with fixed split ratios. | 15 | Changing predominance of norovirus strains in children with acute gastroenteritis in Shanghai,2018–2021显示文摘Norovirus(NoV)is a major pathogen that causes acute gastroenteritis(AGE)in people of all ages,especially in children.In this study,we investigated the molecular epidemiological characteristics of NoV in children with AGE in Shanghai from 2018 to 2021.The overall detection rate of NoV was 11.9%(181/1545),with annual detection rates of 9.4%(36/381),13.6%(29/213),5.8%(13/226)and 14.2%(103/725),respectively.Of note,the prevalence of NoV in 2020 was significantly lower than that in 2018-2019(10.9%,65/594)(P=0.023)and 2021(14.2%,103/725)(P=0.000).The 181 NoV strains identified in this study were classified into the GI group(1.1%,2/181),GII group(98.3%,178/181)and GIX group(0.6%,1/181)according to the VP1 gene.The most common NoV VP1 genotype was GII.4 Sydney_2012(63.5%,115/181),followed by GII.3(19.9%,36/181)and GII.2(9.4%,17/181).For P genotypes,174 strains were sequenced successfully according to the RdRp gene,and the predominant genotype was GII.P16(44.8%,78/174),followed by GII.P31(25.9%,45/174)and GII.P12(21.3%,37/174).Among the 174 cases,GII.4 Sydney_2012[P16](36.8%,64/174)was the dominant genotype,followed by GII.4 Sydney_2012[P31](25.3%,44/174),GII.3[P12](20.1%,35/174)and GII.2[P16](8.0%,14/174).In particular,the dominant genotypes in Shanghai changed from GII.4 Sydney_2012[P31]in 2018-2019 to GII.4 Sydney_2012[P16]in 2020-2021.This is the first report to describe the epidemiological changes in NoV infection before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Shanghai.These data highlight the importance of continuous surveillance for NoV in children with AGE in Shanghai. | Lijuan Lu Yuanyun Ao Ran Jia Huaqing Zhong Pengcheng Liu Menghua Xu Liyun Su Lingfeng Cao Jin Xu | 2023 | Virologica Sinica2023,38,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Weak coupling between heterotrophic nanoflagellates and bacteria in the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass area显示文摘A study was carried out to investigate the grazing pressure of heterotrophic nanoflagellates(HNF) on bacteria assemblages in the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass(YSCWM) area in October, 2006. The results show that the HNF abundance ranges from 303 to 1 388 mL-1, with a mean of 884 mL-1. The HNF biomass is equivalent to 10.6%–115.6% of that of the bacteria. The maximum abundance of the HNF generally occurred in the upper 30 m water layer, with a vertical distribution pattern of surface layer abundance greater than middle layer abundance, then bottom layer abundance. The hydrological data show that the YSCWM is located in the northeastern part of the study area, typically 40 m beneath the surface. A weak correlation is found between the abundances of HNF and bacteria in both the YSCWM and its above water layer. One-way ANOVA analysis reveals that the abundance of HNF and bacteria differs between inside the YSCWM and in the above water mass. The ingestion rates of the HNF on bacteria was 8.02±3.43 h-1 in average.
