| 2 | Kallistatin,a new and reliable biomarker for the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis显示文摘Kallistatin,which protects organs and cells against inflammation,fibrosis and oxidative stress,is mainly synthesized and secreted in liver.However,its relationship to human liver disease remains unclear.The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between serum kallistatin and clinical evidence of both cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),and to determine if serum kallistatin levels could be used as a diagnostic indicator of hepatic health status,especially human liver cirrhosis(LC).Our cohort consisted of 115 patients with clinically proven liver fibrosis(LF),LC,or HCC by liver biopsies,and 31 healthy controls(CON).Serum kallistatin levels were quantified by ELISA.Results of the present study demonstrated that irrespective of the underlying etiology,serum kallistatin levels were significantly lower in the LF/LC group when compared with the CON group.A decrease in serum kallistatin levels appeared to reflect the extent of cirrhosis,with the lowest levels associated with higher grades of cirrhosis.Patients with LC had a noticeable correlation between serum kallistatin levels and other serum biochemical indicators.The area under the curve(AUC) for LC,viral liver cirrhosis(VLC)and alcoholic liver cirrhosis(ALC) was 0.845,0.757 and 0.931,respectively.In conclusion,our findingsdemonstrated that kallistatin,a plasma protein produced by the liver,can be a useful and reliable diagnostic indicator of hepatic health status,especially for LC. | Zhiyun Cheng Yinghui Lv Suqiu Pang Ruyu Bai Mingxi Wang Shuyu Lin Tianwen Xu Duncan Spalding Nagy Habib Ruian Xu | 2015 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2015,5,3: | 7 |
| 3 | A novel lineage of osteoprogenitor cells with dual epithelial and mesenchymal properties govern maxillofacial bone homeostasis and regeneration after MSFL显示文摘Bone regeneration originates from proliferation and differentiation of osteoprogenitors via either endochondral or intramembranous ossifcation;and the regeneration capacities decline with age and estrogen loss.Maillary sinus floor lifting(MSFL)is a commonly used surgical procedure for guiding bone regeneration in mailla.Radiographic analysis of 1210 clinical cases of maxilla bone regeneration after MSFL revealed that the intrasinus osteogenic eficacy was independent of age and gender,however;and this might be related to the Schneiderian membrane that lines the sinus cavity.In view of the particularity of this biological process,our present study aimed to elucidate the underlying mechanism of MSFL-induced bone regeneration.We frst established a murine model to simulate the clinical MSFL.By single cell RNA-sequencing and flow cytometry-based bulk RNA-sequencing,we identifed a novel Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)subset of cells that display both epithelial and mesenchymal properties and the transcriptomic feature of osteoprogenitors.Dual recombinases-mediated lineage tracing and oss-offunction analyses showed that these Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)progenitors contribute to both MSFL-induced osteogenesis and physiological bone homeostasis by differentiating into Krt14 Ctsk^(+)descendants which show robust osteogenic capacity.In addition,we detected a similar population of Kt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)cells in human samples of Schneiderian membrane,which show a highly similar osteogenic potential and transcriptomic feature to the corresponding cells in mice.The identifcation of this Krt14^(+)Ctsk^(+)population,featured by osteoprogenitor charateristics and dual epithelial-mesenchymal properties,provides new insight into the understanding of bone regeneration and may open more possibilities for clinical applications. | Yuteng Weng Haicheng Wang Di Wu Shuyu Xu Xiaofan Chen Jie Huang Yanhuizhi Feng Lin Li Zuolin Wang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,9: | 5 |
| 4 | High-efficiency normal-incidence vertical p-i-n photodetectors on a germanium-on-insulator platform显示文摘In this paper, normal incidence vertical p-i-n photodetectors on a germanium-on-insulator(GOI) platform were demonstrated. The vertical p-i-n structure was realized by ion-implanting boron and arsenic at the bottom and top of the Ge layer, respectively, during the GOI fabrication. Abrupt doping profiles were verified in the transferred high-quality Ge layer. The photodetectors exhibit a dark current density of ~47 mA∕cm^2 at-1 V and an optical responsivity of 0.39 A/W at 1550 nm, which are improved compared with state-of-the-art demonstrated GOI photodetectors. An internal quantum efficiency of ~97% indicates excellent carrier collection efficiency of the device. The photodetectors with mesa diameter of 60 μm exhibit a 3 dB bandwidth of ~1 GHz, which agrees well with theoretical calculations. The bandwidth is expected to improve to ~32 GHz with mesa diameter of 10 μm. | 6 | The nonlinear standing wave inside the space of liquid显示文摘Based on the basic equations of hydrodynamics, the nonlinear acoustic wave equation is obtained. By taking into account the boundary condition and properties of nonlinear standing wave, the equation is solved through perturbation method, and the stable expressions of fundamental wave and second harmonic are presented. The sound pressures in an ultrasonic cleaner are measured by hydrophones, and the relationship between the received voltages of hydrophones and the output voltages of the ultrasonic generator is researched. The study shows the existence of the nonlinear effect of liquid and analyzes the frequency spectrum of the received signals by hydrophones, by which the fundamental wave, second and high order harmonics are found coexisting in the bounded space filled with liquids. The theory and experimental results testify the existence of the nonlinear standing wave in liquid. | 7 | Study on the sandwiched longitudinal-torsional ultrasonic transducer显示文摘The longitudinal-torsional composite mode ultrasonic transducer is studied. The transducer consists of the front and back exponential metal horns, and the axially and tangen-tially polarized piezoelectric ceramic piles. The resonance frequellcy equations fo f the longitu-dinal and torsional vibrations in the transducer are derived. By changing the cross sectional radius decny coefficient of the exponeotial metal horns, the longitudinal and torsional vibrations in the transducer could resonate at the same resonance frequency Experimental results show that the measured resonance frequency is in good agreement with that of theoretical results, and the resonance frequency for the longitudinal vibration is basically the same as that for the torsional vibration in the transducer.
