1Review of the characteristics and graded utilisation of coal gasification slag显示文摘The characteristics of the energy structure of rich coal,less oil and less gas,coupling with a high external dependence on oil and natural gas and the emphasis on the efficient and clean utilisation of coal,have brought opportunities for coal chemical industry.However,with the large-scale popularisation of coal gasification technology,the production and resulting storage of coal gasification slag continue to increase,which not only result in serious environmental pollution and a waste of terrestrial resources,but also seriously affect the sustainable development of coal chemical enterprises.Hence,the treatment of coal gasification slag is extremely important.In this paper,the production,composition,morphology,particle size structure and water holding characteristics of coal gasification slag are introduced,and the methods of carbon ash separation of gasification slag,both domestically and abroad,are summarised.In addition,the paper also summarises the research progress on gasification slag in building materials,ecological restoration,residual carbon utilisation and other high-value utilisation,and ultimately puts forward the idea of the comprehensive utilisation of gasification slag.For large-scale consumption to solve the environmental problems of enterprises and achieve high-value utilisation to increase the economic benefits of enterprises,it is urgent to zealously design a reasonable and comprehensive utilisation technologies with simple operational processes,strong adaptability and economic benefits.Xiaodong Liu Zhengwei Jin Yunhuan Jing Panpan Fan Zhili Qi Weiren Bao Jiancheng Wang Xiaohui Yan Peng Lv Lianping Dong 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,7:21
2Osteoclast fusion and regulation by RANKL-dependent and independent factors显示文摘Osteoclasts are the bone resorbing cells essential for bone remodeling.Osteoclasts are formed from hematopoietic progenitors in the monocyte/macrophage lineage.Osteoclastogenesis is composed of several steps including progenitor survival,differentiation to mononuclear pre-osteoclasts,fusion to multi-nuclear mature osteoclasts,and activation to bone resorbing osteoclasts.The regulation of osteoclastogenesis has been extensively studied,in which the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand(RANKL)-mediated signaling pathway and downstream transcription factors play essential roles.However,less is known about osteoclast fusion,which is a property of mature osteoclasts and is required for osteoclasts to resorb bone.Several proteins that affect cell fusion have been identified.Among them,dritic cell-specific transmembrane protein(DC-STAMP)is directly associated to osteoclast fusion in vivo.Cytokines and factors influence osteoclast fusion through regula-tion of DC-STAMP.Here we review the recently discovered new factors that regulate osteoclast fusion with specific focus on DC-STAMP.A better understanding of the mechanistic basis of osteoclast fusion will lead to the development of a new therapeutic strategy for bone disorders due to elevated osteoclast bone resorption.Cell-cell fusion is essential for a variety of cellular biological processes.In mammals,there is a limited number of cell types that fuse to form multinucleated cells,such as the fusion of myoblasts for the formation of skeletal muscle and the fusion of cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage for the formation of multinucleated osteoclasts and giant cells.In most cases,cellcell fusion is beneficial for cells by enhancing function.Myoblast fusion increases myofiber size and diameter and thereby increases contractile strength.Multinucleated osteoclasts have far more bone resorbing activity than their mono-nuclear counterparts.Multinucleated giant cells are much more efficient in the removal of implanted materials and bacteria due to chronic infection than macrophages.Therefore,they are also called foreign-body giant cells.Cell fusion is a complicated process involving cell migration,chemotaxis,cell-cell recognition and attachment,as well as changes into a fusion-competent status.All of these steps are regulated by multiple factors.In this review,we will discuss osteoclast fusion and regulation.Lianping Xing Yan Xiu Brendan F Boyce 2012World Journal of Orthopedics2012,3,12:14
3LORELEI-LIKE GPI-ANCHORED PROTEINS 2/3 Regulate Pollen Tube Growth as Chaperones and Coreceptors for ANXUR/BUPS Receptor Kinases in Arabidopsis显示文摘Pollen tube growth is crucial for successful fertilization.In Arabidopsis thaliana,the ANXUR(ANX)/BUPS receptor kinase complex controls and maintains pollen tube growth in response to autocrine rapid alkalin-ization factor 4/19(RALF4/19)signaling;however,the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the ANX/BUPS-mediated regulation of pollen tube growth remain unclear.In this study,we found that pollen-specific LORELEI-like GPI-anchored proteins 2 and 3(LLG2/3)promote pollen tube growth in vitro and in vivo.LLG2/3 interacte with ANX/BUPS in a RALF4-concentration-dependent manner,suggesting that ANX/BUPS and LLG2/3 might form a receptor-coreceptor complex for perceiving RALF peptide signals.Disruption of the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction led to the cytoplasmic retention of ANX1/2,in either llg2/3 knockdown mutants or in anx1/2 mutants lacking the J region,which mediates the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction.Moreover,we found that RALF4 induced the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS),which stimulate pollen tube growth and reduce pollen burst rate.ROS levels are reduced in the pollen tubes of LLG2/3 RNAi lines,and application of exogenous H2O2 could partially rescue the defective pollen tube growth of LLG2/3 RNAi lines.Taken together,our study identifies LLG2/3 as novel regulatory components of pollen tube growth,and shows that they chaperone ANX/BUPS for secretion to the apical plasma membrane of pollen tube and act as coreceptors of ANX/BUPS in the acti-vation of ROS production for promoting pollen tube growth.Hanqian Feng Chen Liu Rong Fu Minmin Zhang Hui Li Lianping Shen Qiqi Wei Xiang Sun Lin Xu Bin Ni Chao Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,12:10

5Utilization of longitudinal ultrasound to quantify joint soft-tissue changes in a mouse model of posttraumatic osteoarthritis显示文摘To assess the utility of longitudinal ultrasound(US) to quantify volumetric changes in joint soft tissues during the progression of posttraumatic osteoarthritis(PTOA) in mice, and validate the US results with histological findings. A longitudinal cohort of 3-month-old wild-type C57 BL/6 male mice received the Hulth-Telhag surgical procedure on right knee to induce PTOA, and sham surgery on their left knee as control. US scans were performed on both knees before, 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks post-surgery. Joint space volume and Power-Doppler(PD) volume were obtained from US images via Amira software. A parallel cross-sectional cohort of mice was killed at each US time point, and knee joints were subjected to histological analysis to obtain synovial soft-tissue area and OARSI scores. The correlation between US joint space volume and histological synovial soft-tissue area or OARSI score was assessed via linear regression analysis. US images indicated increased joint space volume in PTOA joints over time, which was associated with synovial inflammation and cartilage damage by histology. These changes started from 2 weeks post-surgery and gradually became more severe. No change was detected in sham joints. Increased joint space volume was significantly correlated with increased synovial soft-tissue area and the OARSI score(P o 0.001). PD signal was detected in the joint space of PTOA joints at 6 weeks post-surgery, which was consistent with the location of blood vessels that stained positively for CD31 and alpha-smooth muscle actin in the synovium.This study indicates that US is a cost-effective longitudinal outcome measure of volumetric and vascular changes in joint soft tissues during PTOA progression in mice, which positively correlates with synovial inflammation and cartilage damage.Hao Xu Echoe M Bouta Ronald W Wood Edward M Schwarz Yongjun Wang Lianping Xing 2017Bone Research2017,5,3:7
6Target tracking in glint noise using a MCMC particle filter显示文摘In radar target tracking application, the observation noise is usually non-Gaussian, which is also referred as glint noise. The performances of conventional trackers degra de severely in the presence of glint noise. An improved particle filter, Markov chain Monte Carlo particle filter (MCMC-PF), is applied to cope with radar target tracking when the measurements are perturbed by glint noise. 7Current understanding of osteoarthritis pathogenesis and relevant new approaches显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA)is the most common degenerative joint disease that causes painful swelling and permanent damage to the joints in the body.The molecular mechanisms of OA are currently unknown.OA is a heterogeneous disease that affects the entire joint,and multiple tissues are altered during OA development.To better understand the pathological mechanisms of OA,new approaches,methods,and techniques need to be used to understand OA pathogenesis.In this review,we first focus on the epigenetic regulation of OA,with a particular focus on DNA methylation,histone modification,and microRNA regulation,followed by a summary of several key mediators in OA-associated pain.We then introduce several innovative techniques that have been and will continue to be used in the fields of OA and OA-associated pain,such as CRISPR,scRNA sequencing,and lineage tracing.Next,we discuss the timely updates concerning cell death regulation in OA pathology,including pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and autophagy,as well as their individual roles in OA and potential molecular targets in treating OA.Finally,our review highlights new directions on the role of the synovial lymphatic system in OA.An improved understanding of OA pathogenesis will aid in the development of more specific and effective therapeutic interventions for OA.Liping Tong Huan Yu Xingyun Huang Jie Shen Guozhi Xiao Lin Chen Huaiyu Wang Lianping Xing Di Chen 2022Bone Research2022,10,4:4
8Fast recognition using convolutional neural network for the coal particle density range based on images captured under multiple light sources显示文摘A method based on multiple images captured under different light sources at different incident angles was developed to recognize the coal density range in this study.The innovation is that two new images were constructed based on images captured under four single light sources.Reconstruction image 1 was constructed by fusing greyscale versions of the original images into one image,and Reconstruction image2 was constructed based on the differences between the images captured under the different light sources.Subsequently,the four original images and two reconstructed images were input into the convolutional neural network AlexNet to recognize the density range in three cases:-1.5(clean coal) and+1.5 g/cm^(3)(non-clean coal);-1.8(non-gangue) and+1.8 g/cm^(3)(gangue);-1.5(clean coal),1.5-1.8(middlings),and+1.8 g/cm^(3)(gangue).The results show the following:(1) The reconstructed images,especially Reconstruction image 2,can effectively improve the recognition accuracy for the coal density range compared with images captured under single light source.(2) The recognition accuracies for gangue and non-gangue,clean coal and non-clean coal,and clean coal,middlings,and gangue reached88.44%,86.72% and 77.08%,respectively.(3) The recognition accuracy increases as the density moves further away from the boundary density.Feiyan Bai Minqiang Fan Hongli Yang Lianping Dong 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:4
9Image segmentation method for coal particle size distribution analysis显示文摘Particle size distribution is extremely important in the coal preparation industry.It is traditionally analysed by a manual screening method,which is relatively time-consuming and cannot immediately guide production.In this paper,an image segmentation method for images of coal particles is proposed.It employs the watershed algorithm,k-nearest neighbour algorithm,and convex shell method to achieve preliminary segmentation,merge small pieces with large pieces,and split adhered particles,respectively.Comparing the automated segmentation using this method with manual segmentation,it is found that the results are comparable.The size distributions obtained by the automated and manual segmentation methods are nearly identical,and the standard deviation is less than 3%,indicating good reliability.This automated image segmentation method provides a new approach for rapidly analysing the size distribution of coal particles with size fractions defined according to consumer requirements.Feiyan Bai Minqiang Fan Hongli Yang Lianping Dong 2021Particuology2021,19,3:3
10General formulas for drag coefficient and settling velocity of sphere based on theoretical law显示文摘The settlement of particles is of great importance in many areas.The accurate determination of drag coefficient and settling velocity in wide Reynolds number(Re)range remains a problem.In this paper,a series of new formulas for drag coefficient of spherical particles based on theoretical laws,such as the Stokes law,the Oseen law,and the Goldstein law,were developed and fitted using 480 groups of experimental data(Re<2 105).The results show that the 2nd approximation of a rational function containing only one parameter can describe CD–Re relationship accurately over the whole Re range of0–2 105.The new developed formulas containing five parameters show higher goodness over wide Re range than presently existing equations.The introduction of the Oseen law is helpful for improving the fitting goodness of the empirical formulas.On the basis of one of the Oseen-based CD–Re formulas giving the lowest sum of squared relative errors Q over the whole Re range(Re<2 105),a general formula for settling velocity utbased on dimensionless parameters was proposed showing high goodness.Yang Hongli Fan Minqiang Liu Airong Dong Lianping 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:3
11Mice Deficient in NF-κB p50 and p52 or RANK Have Defective Growth Plate Formation and Post-natal Dwarfism显示文摘NF-κBp50/p52 double knockout(dKO)and RANK KO mice have no osteoclasts and develop severe osteopetrosis associated with dwarfism.In contrast,Op/Op mice,which form few osteoclasts,and Src KO mice,which have osteoclasts with defective resorptive function,are osteopetrotic,but they are not dwarfed.Here,we compared the morphologic features of long bones from p50/p52 dKO,RANK KO,Op/Op and Src KO mice to attempt to explain the differences in their long bone lengths.We found that growth plates in p50/p52 dKO and RANK KO mice are significantly thicker than those in WT mice due to a 2-3-fold increase in the hypertrophic chondrocyte zone associated with normal a proliferative chondrocyte zone.This growth plate abnormality disappears when animals become older,but their dwarfism persists.Op/Op or Src KO mice have relatively normal growth plate morphology.In-situ hybridization study of long bones from p50/p52 dKO mice showed marked thickening of the growth plate region containing type 10 collagen-expressing chondrocytes.Treatment of micro-mass chondrocyte cultures with RANKL did not affect expression levels of type 2 collagen and Sox9,markers for proliferative chondrocytes,but RANKL reduced the number of type 10collagen-expressing hypertrophic chondrocytes.Thus,RANK/NF-κB signaling plays a regulatory role in post-natal endochondral ossification that maintains hypertrophic conversion and prevents dwarfism in normal mice.Lianping Xing Di Chen Brendan F.Boyce 2013Bone Research2013,1,4:2
12Semantic segmentation of track image based on deep neural network显示文摘In this paper,deep learning technology was utilited to solve the railway track recognition in intrusion detection problem.The railway track recognition can be viewed as semantic segmentation task which extends image processing to pixel level prediction.An encoder-decoder architecture DeepLabv3+model was applied in this work due to its good performance in semantic segmentation task.Since images of the railway track collected from the video surveillance of the train cab were used as experiment dataset in this work,the following improvements were made to the model.The first aspect deals with over-fitting problem due to the limited amount of training data.Data augmentation and transfer learning are applied consequently to rich the diversity of data and enhance model robustness during the training process.Besides,different gradient descent methods are compared to obtain the optimal optimizer for training model parameters.The third problem relates to data sample imbalance,cross entropy(CE)loss is replaced by focal loss(FL)to address the issue of serious imbalance between positive and negative sample.Effectiveness of the improved DeepLabv3+model with above solutions is demonstrated by experiment results with different system parameters.Wang Zhaoying Zhou Junhua Liao Zhonghua Zhai Xiang Zhang Lianping 2020The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2020,27,5:2

16Electrodeposition of Ni micro/nano-structures显示文摘A quasi two-dimension electrodeposition method was used to prepare materials with arborized, tree-shaped, and membrane patterned micro/nano-structures. The morphology of the membrane patterned micro/nano-structure was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, and a mechanism for the morphology formation was suggested. The novel preparation method used in this study, which is proprietary to our research group, does not require a template and so has many advantages including controllable, low cost, large scale preparation.
