1The first time observations of low-latitude ionospheric irregularities by VHF radar in Hainan显示文摘Sanya VHF radar (18.4°N, 109.6°E, dip latitude 12.8°N) at Hainan Island is the first coherent backscatter radar for sounding low-latitude ionospheric irregularities in the mainland of China. In this paper, we present the first results of low-latitude ionospheric E and F region irregularities using the radar data during the period from February 2009 to March 2010. The Doppler velocity of radar echoes from E region field aligned irregularities (FAIs) was about several tens of meters per second, while the Doppler spectral width was appreciably larger than the velocity, and could reach one hundred meters per second, indicating that the observed E region FAIs belonged to type 2 irregularities. The observations of range time intensity (RTI) maps of FAIs showed that E region irregularities most often occurred at night within the altitude range 85-115 km, and were rarely observed at afternoon hours. The percentage occurrence of E region FAIs maximized during spring months (Feb.-May) with a peak value over 80%. The heights at which the strongest echo related FAIs occurred were mainly around 100 km, lower than h'Es and the difference is mostly 10-20 km. December solstice seemed to be the minimum period of occurrence when the FAI echoes were commonly detected at a narrow altitude range 90-100 km. 2Human avian influenza A (H5N1) virus infection in China显示文摘Highly pathogenic influenza A (H5N1) virus causes a widespread poultry deaths worldwide. The first human H5N1 infected case was reported in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China in 1997. Since then, the virus re-emerged in 2003 and continues to infect people worldwide. Currently, over 400 human infections have been reported in more than 15 countries and mortality rate is greater than 60%. H5N1 viruses still pose a potential pandemic threat in the future because of the continuing global spread and evolution. 7Comparison of activated carbon and iron/cerium modified activated carbon to remove methylene blue from wastewater显示文摘The methylene blue(MB)removal abilities of raw activated carbon and iron/cerium modified raw activated carbon(Fe–Ce-AC)by adsorption were researched and compared.The characteristics of Fe–Ce-AC were examined by N_2adsorption,zeta potential measurement,FTIR,Raman,XRD,XPS,SEM and EDS.After modification,the following phenomena occurred:The BET surface area,average pore diameter and total pore volume decreased;the degree of graphitization also decreased.Moreover,the presence of Fe_3O_4led to Fe–Ce-AC having magnetic properties,which makes it easy to separate from dye wastewater in an external magnetic field and subsequently recycle.In addition,the equilibrium isotherms and kinetics of MB adsorption on raw activated carbon and Fe–Ce-AC were systematically examined.The equilibrium adsorption data indicated that the adsorption behavior followed the Langmuir isotherm,and the pseudo-second-order model matched the kinetic data well.Compared with raw activated carbon,the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of Fe–Ce-AC increased by27.31%.According to the experimental results,Fe–Ce-AC can be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of MB from dye wastewater.Song Cheng Libo Zhang Aiyuan Ma Hongying Xia Jinhui Peng Chunyang Li Jianhua Shu 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:8
8Angiosperm phylogeny inferred from sequences of four mitochondrial genes显示文摘An angiosperm phylogeny was reconstructed in a maximum likelihood analysis of sequences of four mitochondrial genes,atp1,matR,nad5,and rps3,from 380 species that represent 376 genera and 296 families of seed plants.It is largely congruent with the phylogeny of angiosperms reconstructed from chloroplast genes atpB,matK,and rbcL,and nuclear 18S rDNA.The basalmost lineage consists of Amborella and Nymphaeales(including Hydatellaceae).Austrobaileyales follow this clade and are sister to the mesangiosperms,which include Chloranthaceae,Ceratophyllum,magnoliids,monocots,and eudicots.With the exception of Chloranthaceae being sister to Ceratophyllum,relationships among these five lineages are not well supported.In eudicots,Ranunculales,Sabiales,Proteales,Trochodendrales,Buxales,Gunnerales,Saxifragales,Vitales,Berberidopsidales,and Dilleniales form a basal grade of lines that diverged before the diversification of rosids and asterids.Within rosids,the COM(Celastrales-Oxalidales-Malpighiales) clade is sister to malvids(or rosid II),instead of to the nitrogen-fixing clade as found in all previous large-scale molecular analyses of angiosperms.Santalales and Caryophyllales are members of an expanded asterid clade.This study shows that the mitochondrial genes are informative markers for resolving relationships among genera,families,or higher rank taxa across angiosperms.The low substitution rates and low homoplasy levels of the mitochondrial genes relative to the chloroplast genes,as found in this study,make them particularly useful for reconstructing ancient phylogenetic relationships.A mitochondrial gene-based angiosperm phylogeny provides an independent and essential reference for comparison with hypotheses of angiosperm phylogeny based on chloroplast genes,nuclear genes,and non-molecular data to reconstruct the underlying organismal phylogeny.Yin-Long QIU Libo LI Bin WANG Jia-Yu XUE Tory A. 9Separation of CO_2/CH_4 and CH_4/N_2 mixtures using MOF-5 and Cu_3(BTC)_2显示文摘In this paper we used MOF-5 and Cu3(BTC)2to separate CO2/CH4 and CH4/N2 mixtures under dynamic conditions. Both materials were synthesized and pelletized, thus allowing for a meaningful characterization in view of process scale-up. The materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). By performing breakthrough experiments, we found that Cu3(BTC)2separated CO2/CH4 slightly better than MOF-5. Because the crystal structure of Cu3(BTC)2includes unsaturated accessible metal sites formed via dehydration, it predominantly interacted with CO2 molecules and more easily captured them. 12Chemical compound cinobufotalin potently induces FOXO1-stimulated cisplatin sensitivity by antagonizing its binding partner MYH9显示文摘In this study,we present novel molecular mechanisms by which FOXO1 functions as a tumor suppressor to prevent the pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).First,we observed that FOXO1 not only controlled tumor stemness and metastasis,but also sensitized NPC cells to cisplatin(DDP)in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistic studies demonstrated that FOXO1-induced miR-200b expression through the GSK3β/β-catenin/TCF4 network-mediated stimulation of ZEB1,which reduced tumor stemness and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)signal.Furthermore,we observed FOXO1 interaction with MYH9 and suppression of MYH9 expression by modulating the PI3K/AKT/c-Myc/P53/miR-133a-3p pathway.Decreased MYH9 expression not only reduced its interactions with GSK3β,but also attenuated TRAF6 expression,which then decreased the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of GSK3βprotein.Increased GSK3βexpression stimulated theβ-catenin/TCF4/ZEB1/miR-200b network,which increased the downstream tumor stemness and EMT signals.Subsequently,we observed that chemically synthesized cinobufotalin(CB)strongly increased FOXO1-induced DDP chemosensitivity by reducing MYH9 expression,and the reduction in MYH9 modulated GSK3β/β-catenin and its downstream tumor stemness and EMT signal in NPC.In clinical samples,the combination of low FOXO1 expression and high MYH9 expression indicated the worst overall survival rates.Our studies demonstrated that CB potently induced FOXO1-mediated DDP sensitivity by antagonizing its binding partner MYH9 to modulate tumor stemness in NPC.YongHao Li Xiong Liu Xian Lin Menyang Zhao Yanyi Xiao Chen Liu Zixi Liang Zelong Lin Renhui Yi Zibo Tang Jiahao Liu Xin Li Qingping Jiang Libo Li Yinyin Xie Zhen Liu Weiyi Fang 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:6

15CO_2/CH_4 and CH_4/N_2 separation on isomeric metal organic frameworks显示文摘Two isomeric metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) with 2-dimensional(2D) and 3-dimensional(3D) topologies both comprised of Cu(Ⅱ) and OTf(OTf = trifluoromethanesulfonate) ions were synthesized and characterized.The CO_2,CH_4 and N_2 adsorption properties of the two isomeric MOFs were investigated from 263 K to 298 K at0.1 MPa.The results showed that the 2D MOF exhibited a higher selectivity for CO_2 from CO_2/CH_4 and CH_4from CH_4/N_2 compared to the 3D MOF,even though it possessed a lower surface area and pore volume.The higher adsorption heats of gases on the 2D MOF inferred the strong adsorption potential energy in the layered MOFs.Dynamic separation experiments using CO_2/CH_4 and CH_4/N_2 mixtures on the two MOFs proved that the2 D MOF had a longer elution time than the 3D MOF as well as better separation abilities.Xiaoqing Wang Libo Li Jiangfeng Yang Jinping Li 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,12:6

17Measurements and thermodynamic modeling of liquid–liquid equilibria in ternary system 2-methoxy-2-methylpropane+p-cresol+water显示文摘Liquid–liquid equilibrium(LLE)data for the ternary system 2-methoxy-2-methylpropane(methyl tert-butyl ether)+ p-cresol + water was measured at atmospheric pressure and temperatures of 298.15 K and 313.15 K.From the distribution coefficients and selectivity,it was found that 2-methoxy-2-methylpropane is an efficient solvent to extract p-cresol from wastewater.The consistency of the experimental tie-line data was verified with the Hand and Bachman equations.These data were also correlated with the non-random two liquid(NRTL)and universal quasi-chemical correlation activity coefficient(UNIQUAC)models to yield binary interaction parameters for p-cresol extraction process evaluation.Both models agreed with experiments very well,yet the NRTL model showed even smaller average deviation than the UNIQUAC model.Liejin Luo Dong Liu Libo Li Yun Chen 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,3:5

20Simultaneous extraction of DNA and RNA from Escherichia coli BL 21 based on silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles显示文摘The extraction of nucleic acid is recognized as one of the most essential steps in molecular biology for initiating other downstream applications such as sequencing, amplification, hybridization, and cloning. Many commercial kits and methods are currently available that allow the extraction of only one type of nucleic acids-DNA or RNA. However, in parallel clinical detection of several diseases, a method for simultaneous extraction of both DNA and RNA from the same source is needed in such cases. In this study, a method for simultaneous extraction of DNA and RNA from bacteria based on magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) was described. Lysis buffers were prepared to help the nucleic acid released and adsorbed to MNPs. Then, two washing buffers were used to remove the contamination of proteins and carbohydrates. The nucleic acids were finally eluted by Deoxyribonuclease(DNase) and Ribonucleases(RNase) free water. Different factors which might affect the purification of the nucleic acid were investigated, and the quantity and quality parameters of the nucleic acid were also recorded. The DNA and RNA extracted from bacteria were then respectively subjected to polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR) to further confirm its quality.
