1Accuracy assessment of global historical cropland datasets based on regional reconstructed historical data——A case study in Northeast China显示文摘Historical cropland datasets are fundamental for quantifying the effects of human land use activities on climatic change and the carbon cycle. Two representative global land-use datasets, the Global Land Use Database (termed SAGE dataset) and the Historical Database of the Global Environment (termed HYDE dataset) have been established and used widely. Despite improvement of data quality and methodologies for extracting historical land use information, certain dataset limitations exist that need to be quantified and communicated to users so that they can make informed decisions on whether and how these land-use products should be used. The Cropland data of Northeast China (CNEC) is based on calibrated historical data and a multi-sourced data conversion model, and reconstructs cropland cover change in Northeast China over the last 300 years. Us- ing the CNEC as a reference, we evaluated the accuracy of cropland cover for SAGE and HYDE in Northeast China at spatial scales ranging from the entire Northeast China to provinces and even individual raster grid cells. Neither SAGE nor HYDE reflects real historical land reclamation. Cropland areas in SAGE are overestimated by 20.98 times in 1700 to 1.6 times in 1990. Although HYDE is better, there are significant disagreements in cropland area and distribution between HYDE and CNEC, especially in the 18th and 19th centuries. The proportion of total grid cells whose relative error was greater than 100% was 63.55% in 1700 and 53.27% in 1780. 2Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strain W19 can Promote Growth and Yield and Suppress Fusarium Wilt in Banana Under Greenhouse and Field Conditions显示文摘Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR) are considered to be the most promising agents for cash crop production via increasing crop yields and decreasing disease occurrence. The Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain W19 can produce secondary metabolites(iturin and bacillomycin D) effectively against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense(FOC). In this study, the ability of a bio-organic fertilizer(BIO) containing strain W19 to promote plant growth and suppress the Fusarium wilt of banana was evaluated in both pot and field experiments. The results showed that application of BIO significantly promoted the growth and fruit yield of banana while suppressing the banana Fusarium wilt disease. To further determine the beneficial mechanisms of the strain, the colonization of green fluorescent protein-tagged strain W19 on banana roots was observed using confocal laser scanning microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The effect of banana root exudates on the formation of biofilm of strain W19 indicated that the banana root exudates may enhance colonization. In addition, the strain W19 was able to produce indole-3-acetic acid(IAA), a plant growth-promoting hormone.The results of these experiments revealed that the application of strain W19-enriched BIO improved the banana root colonization of strain W19 and growth of banana and suppressed the Fusarium wilt. 4Spatial-temporal Characteristics of Land Subsidence Corresponding to Dynamic Groundwater Funnel in Beijing Municipality,China显示文摘Due to long-term over-exploitation of groundwater in Beijing Municipality,regional groundwater funnels have formed and land subsidence has been induced.By combining a groundwater monitoring network,GPS monitor-ing network data,radar satellite SAR data,GIS and other new technologies,a coupled process model based on the dy-namic variation of groundwater and the deformation response of land subsidence has been established.The dynamic variation of groundwater funnels and the land subsidence response process were analyzed systematically in Beijing.Study results indicate that current groundwater funnel areas are distributed mainly in the southwest of Shunyi District,the northeast of Chaoyang District and the northwest of Tongzhou District,with an average decline rate of groundwa-ter level of 2.66 m/yr and a maximum of 3.82 m/yr in the center of the funnels.Seasonal and interannual differences exist in the response model of land subsidence to groundwater funnels with uneven spatial and temporal distribution,where the maximum land subsidence rate was about-41.08 mm/yr and the area with a subsidence rate greater than 30 mm/yr was about 1637.29 km2.Although a consistency was revealed to exist between a groundwater funnel and the spatial distribution characteristics of the corresponding land subsidence funnel,this consistency was not perfect.The results showed that the response model of land subsidence to the dynamic variation of groundwater was more revealing when combining conventional technologies with InSAR,GIS,GPS,providing a new strategy for environmental and hydrogeological research and a scientific basis for regional land subsidence control.CHEN Beibei GONG Huili LI Xiaojuan LEI Kunchao ZHANG Youquan LI Jiwei GU Zhaoqin DANG Yanan 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,6:13

6Emerging low-nuclearity supported metal catalysts with atomic level precision for efficient heterogeneous catalysis显示文摘Supported atomically dispersed metal catalysts(ADMCs)have received enormous attention due to their high atom utilization efficiency,mass activity and excellent selectivity.Single-atom site catalysts(SACs)with monometal-center as the quintessential ADMCs have been extensively studied in the catalysis-related fields.Beyond SACs,novel atomically dispersed metal catalysts(NADMCs)with flexible active sites featuring two or more catalytically centers including dual-atom and triple-atom catalysts have drawn ever-increasing attention recently.Owing to the presence of multiple neighboring active sites,NADMCs could exhibit much higher activity and selectivity compared with SACs,especially in those complicated reactions with multi-step intermediates.This review comprehensively outlines the recent exciting advances on the NADMCs with emphasis on the deeper understanding of the synergistic interactions among multiple metal atoms and underlying structure-performance relationships.It starts with the systematical introduction of principal synthetic approaches for NADMCs highlighting the key issues of each fabrication method including the atomically precise control in the design of metal nuclearity,and then the state-of-the-art characterizations for identifying and monitoring the atomic structure of NADMCs are explored.Thereafter,the recent development of NADMCs in energy-related applications is systematically discussed.Finally,we provide some new insights into the remaining challenges and opportunities for the development of NADMCs.Xiaobo Zheng Beibei Li Qishun Wang Dingsheng Wang Yadong Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:9

8Endostatin enhances antitumor effect of tumor antigen-pulsed dendritic cell therapy in mouse xenograft model of lung carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To investigate the antitumor effect of endostatin combined with tumor antigen-pulsed dendritic cell(DC)-T cell therapy on lung cancer.Methods: Transplanted Lewis lung cancer(LLC) models of C57BL/6 mice were established by subcutaneous injection of LLC cells in left extremity axillary. Tumor antigen-pulsed DC-T cells from spleen cells and bone of mice were cultured in vitro. Tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into three groups, including DCT+endostatin group, DC-T group, and phosphate-buffered saline(PBS) control group. Microvessel density(MVD) of tumor tissue in tumor-bearing mice was determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC). The expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) were determined by Western blotting and IHC staining. The proportions of CD8+ T cells, mature dendritic cells(m DC), tumor-associated macrophages [TAM(M1/M2)], and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSC) in suspended cells of tumor tissue were determined by flow cytometry. The expressions of interleukin(IL)-6, IL-10, IL-17, transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) in suspended cells of tumor tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA).Results: DC-T cells combined with endostatin remarkably suppressed tumor growth. MVD of mice in DCT+endostatin group was significantly lower than that of the control group and DC-T monotherapy group. The expressions of VEGF, IL-6 and IL-17 in tumors were markedly decreased, but IFN-γ and HIF-1α increased after treating with DC-T cells combined with endostatin, compared to control group and DC-T group. In the DCT+endostatin group, the proportions of MDSC and TAM(M2 type) were significantly decreased, m DC and TAM(M1 type) were up-regulated, and CD8+ T cells were recruited to infiltrate tumors, in contrast to PBS control and DC-T monotherapy. 9Carbon emissions induced by cropland expansion in Northeast China during the past 300 years显示文摘Assessments of the impacts of land use and land cover changes(LUCC) on the terrestrial carbon budget, atmospheric CO2 concentration, and CO2-related climatic change are important to understand the environmental effects of LUCC and provide information about the effects of historical carbon emissions. Using regional land cover reconstructions from historical records, with a bookkeeping model, we estimated the carbon sink changes caused by historical cropland expansion in Northeast China during the past 300 years. The conclusions are as follows:(1) There was a dramatic land reclamation of cropland during the past 300 years in Northeast China. Approximately 26% of the natural land was cultivated, and 38% of the grassland and 20% of the forest and shrubland were converted to cropland.(2) The carbon emission induced by cropland expansion between 1683 and 1980 was 1.06–2.55 Pg C, and the estimation from the moderate scenario was 1.45 Pg C. The carbon emissions of the soil carbon pool was larger than that from the vegetation carbon pool and comprised more than 2/3 of the total carbon emissions.(3) The carbon emissions of the three provinces in Northeast China were different. Heilongjiang Province had the largest carbon emissions, and Jilin Province had the second largest emissions.(4) The primary source of carbon emissions was forest reclamation(taking 60% of the total emissions in the moderate scenario), the secondary source was grassland cultivation(taking 27%), and the tertiary sources were shrubland and wetland reclamation(taking 13%). Examination on the data accuracy revealed that the high-resolution regional land cover data allowed the carbon budget to be evaluated at the county level and improved the precision of the results. 10Cholesterol transport through the peroxisome-ER membrane contacts tethered by PI(4,5)P2 and extended synaptotagmins显示文摘Most mammalian cells take up cholesterol from low-density lipoproteins(LDLs) via receptor-mediated endocytosis.After reaching lysosomes,LDL-derived cholesterol continues to transport to downstream organelles including the ER for specific structural and functional needs.Peroxisomes are recently found to receive cholesterol from lysosomes through lysosomeperoxisome membrane contacts.However,whether and how cholesterol is conveyed from peroxisomes to the ER remain unknown.Here,by combining high-resolution microscopic analyses and in vitro reconstitution of highly purified organelles or artificial liposomes,we demonstrate that peroxisomes form membrane contacts with the ER through the interaction between peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 and ER-resident extended synaptotagmin-1,2 and 3(E-Syts).Depletion of peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 or ESyts markedly decreases peroxisome-ER membrane contacts and induces cholesterol accumulation in lysosomes.Furthermore,we show that cholesterol is delivered from 3H-labeled peroxisomes or PI(4,5)P2-containing liposomes to the ER in vitro,and that the presence of peroxisomes augments cholesterol transfer from lysosomes to the ER.Together,our study reveals a new cholesterol transport pathway along the lysosome-peroxisome-ER membrane contacts in the cell.Jian Xiao Jie Luo Ao Hu Ting Xiao Meixin Li Zekai Kong Luyi Jiang Zimu Zhou Yacheng Liao Chang Xie Beibei Chu Honghua Miao Boliang Li Xiongjie Shi Bao-Liang Song 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9:8
11Detection of geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol by liquid-liquid extraction-gas chromatograph mass spectrum (LLE-GCMS) and solid phase extraction-gas chromatograph mass spectrum (SPE-GCMS)显示文摘Two sample preparation methods were introduced and compared in this paper to establish a simple,quick and exact analysis of geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol.LC-18 column was employed in solid phase extraction(SPE),1.0 mL of hexane was adopted in liquid-liquid extraction(LLE),and the extracts were analyzed by gas chromatograph mass spectrum(GCMS)in selected ion mode.Mean recoveries of SPE were low for 2-methylisoborneol(2-MIB)and geosmin(GSM)with values below 50%.For LLE,the recoveries were satisfyingly above 50%for 2-MIB and 80%for GSM.Detection limits of the LLE method were as low as 1.0 ng/L for GSM and 5.0 ng/L for 2-MIB.A year-long investigation on odor chemicals of drinking water in Shanghai demonstrated that in the summer,there was a serious odor problem induced by a high concentration of 2-MIB.The highest concentration of 152.82 ng/L appeared in July in raw water,while GSM flocculation was minimal with concentrations below odor threshold.MA Xiaoyan GAO Naiyun CHEN Beibei LI Qingsong ZHANG Qiaoli GU Guofen 2007Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2007,1,3:7

14sLe^(x) expression in invasive micropapillary breast carcinoma is associated with poor prognosis and can be combined with MUC1/EMA as a supplementary diagnostic indicator显示文摘Objective: Mucin 1(MUC1/EMA) and sialyl Lewis X(sLe^(x)) indicate polarity reversal in invasive micropapillary carcinoma(IMPC). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the expression of MUC1/EMA and sLe^(x) and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic value in patients with IMPC.Methods: The expression of sLe^(x) and MUC1/EMA in 100 patients with IMPC and a control group of 89 patients with invasive ductal carcinoma not otherwise specified(IDC-NOS) were analyzed with IHC. Fresh tumor tissues were collected from patients with IMPC or IDC-NOS for primary culture and immunofluorescence analysis.Results: The rate of nodal metastasis was higher in patients with IMPC than those with IDC-NOS, and IMPC cells tended to express more sLe^(x) and MUC1/EMA in the cytomembranes(the stroma-facing surfaces of the micropapillary clusters) than IDC-NOS cells. In IMPC, high cytomembrane expression of sLe^(x), but not MUC1/EMA, indicated poor prognosis. In addition, among the 100 patients with IMPC, 10 patients had sLe^(x)+/EMA-expression patterns, and 8 patients had sLe^(x)-/EMA+ expression patterns. The primary IMPC cells were suspended, non-adherent tumor cell clusters, whereas the primary IDC cells were adherent tumor cells. 15Metalens-integrated compact imaging devices for wide-field microscopy显示文摘Metasurfaces have demonstrated unprecedented capabilities in manipulating light with ultrathin and flat architectures.Although great progress has been made in the metasurface designs and function demonstrations,most metalenses still only work as a substitution of conventional lenses in optical settings,whose integration advantage is rarely manifested.We propose a highly integrated imaging device with silicon metalenses directly mounted on a complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor,whose working distance is in hundreds of micrometers.The imaging performances including resolution,signal-to-noise ratio,and field of view(FOV)are investigated.Moreover,we develop a metalens array with polarization-multiplexed dual-phase design for a wide-field microscopic imaging.This approach remarkably expands the FOV without reducing the resolution,which promises a non-limited space-bandwidth product imaging for wide-field microscopy.As a result,we demonstrate a centimeter-scale prototype for microscopic imaging,showing uniqueness of meta-design for compact integration.Beibei Xu Hanmeng Li Shenglun Gao Xia Hu Cheng Yang Chen Chen Feng Yan Shining Zhu Tao Li 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,6:6

17Redundant CAMTA Transcription Factors Negatively Regulate the Biosynthesis of Salicylic Acid and N-Hydroxypipecolic Acid by Modulating the Expression of SARD1 and CBP60g显示文摘Two signal molecules, salicylic acid (SA) and N-hydroxypipecolic acid (NHP), play critical roles in plant immunity. The biosynthetic genes of both compounds are positively regulated by master immune-regulating transcription factors SARD1 and CBP60g. However, the relationship between the SA and NHP pathways is unclear. CALMODULIN-BINDING TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR 1 (CAMTA1), CAMTA2, and CAMTA3 are known redundant negative regulators of plant immunity, but the underlying mechanism also remains largely unknown. In this study, through chromatin immunoprecipitation and electrophoretic mobility shift assays, we uncovered that CBP60g is a direct target of CAMTA3, which also negatively regulates the expression of SARD1, presumably via an indirect effect. The autoimmunity of camta3-1 is suppressed by sard1 cbp60g double mutant as well as ald1 and fmo1, two single mutants defective in NHP biosynthesis. Interestingly, a suppressor screen conducted in the camta1/ 2/ 3 triple mutant background yielded various mutants blocking biosynthesis or signaling of either SA or NHP, leading to nearly complete suppression of the extreme autoimmunity of camta1/ 2/ 3, suggesting that the SA and NHP pathways can mutually amplify each other. 20Metabolic characteristics and nutrient utilization in high-feedefficiency pigs selected using different feed conversion ratio models显示文摘An understanding of the nutrient utilization characteristics of pigs with different feed efficiencies(FEs) will help us to develop new strategies to reduce the costs of pig production.In this study,we selected pigs with a range of FEs according to two feed conversion ratio models: the feed intake(FI) model,where pigs had the same average daily gains(ADGs) but different FIs,and the ADG model,where pigs had the same FIs but different ADGs.High-FE pigs had a higher abundance of short chain fatty acid(SCFA)-producing bacteria(Lachnospiraceae,Clostridiaceae1,and Coriobacteriaceae) in their caecum in the FI model,and low-FE pigs had a higher abundance of two families(BacteroidalesS247group and Peptococcaceae) and two genera(Anaerotruncus and CandidatusSoleaferrea) in both models.By contrast,high-FE pigs had more goblet cells and higher m RNA expression of insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1) in the FI model,and higher mRNA expression of occludin but lower expressions of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)-α2 and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha(PGC1α) in the ADG model.These findings suggest that the presence of SCFA-producing bacteria in the caecum and increased muscular growth may contribute to the high FE of low-FI pigs,while improved intestinal functions and decreased mitochondrial activity in the skeletal muscle are related to the high FE of high-ADG pigs.Beibei He Tiantian Li Wei Wang Hang Gao Yu Bai Shuai Zhang Jianjun Zang Defa Li Junjun Wang 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,7:5
