1Industrialization prospects for hydrogen production by coal gasification in supercritical water and novel thermodynamic cycle power generation system with no pollution emission显示文摘Energy conversion and utilization, particularly carbon-based fuel burning in air phase, have caused great environmental pollution and serious problems to society. The reactions in water phase may have the potential to realize clean and efficient energy conversion and utilization. Coal gasification in supercritical water is a typical carbon-based fuel conversion process in water phase, and it takes the advantages of the unique chemical and physical properties of supercritical water to convert organic matter in coal to H2 and CO2. N, S, P, Hg and other elements are deposited as inorganic salts to avoid pollution emission. The State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Power Engineering has obtained extensive experimental and theoretical results based on coal gasification in supercritical water. Supercritical water fluidized bed reactor was developed for coal gasification and seven kinds of typical feedstock were selected. The hydrogen yield covers from 0.67 to 1.74 Nm3/kg and the carbon gasification efficiency is no less than 97%. This technology has a bright future in industrialization not only in electricity generation but also in hydrogen production and high value-added chemicals. Given the gas yield obtained in laboratory-scale unit, the hydrogen production cost is U.S.$ 0.111 Nm3 when the throughput capacity is 2000 t/d. A novel thermodynamic cycle power generation system based on coal gasification in supercritical water was proposed with the obvious advantages of high coal-electricity conversion efficiency and zero pollutant emission. The cost of U.S.$ 3.69 billion for desulfuration, denitration and dust removal in China in 2013 would have been saved with this technology. Five kinds of heat supply methods are analyzed and the rates of return of investment are roughly estimated. 2Evolution and molecular epidemiology of foot-and-mouth disease virus in China显示文摘Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD),caused by foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV),is considered one of the most important viral diseases of cloven-hoofed animals,causing severe economic losses in affected regions of the world.Three serotypes (A,O,and Asia 1) of FMDV have been identified in China since 1958.In addition,the occurrence of novel subtypes within these serotypes has made the epidemiology of FMDV more complicated over the last few years.In this review,we summarize the history and the current epidemiological situation in China,genetic diversity (e.g.,quasispecies dynamics,antigenic heterogeneity,and functional constraints),intertypic recombination,and the evidence for positive selection of different FMDV serotypes.We also assess these genetic data to understand the origin,evolution,and transmission of FMDV,the findings of which may be useful in developing control measures for future epidemics.BAI XingWen LI PingHua BAO HuiFang LIU ZaiXin LI Dong LU ZengJun CAO YiMei SHANG YouJun SHAO JunJun CHANG HuiYun LUO JianXun LIU XiangTao 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,21:7

4Evaluation of stability and catalytic activity of Ni catalysts for hydrogen production by biomass gasification in supercritical water显示文摘Supercritical water gasification is a promising technology for wet biomass utilization.In this paper,Ni and other metal catalysts were synthesized by wet impregnation.The stability and catalytic activities of Ni catalysts were evaluated.Firstly,catalytic activities of Ni,Fe,Cu catalysts supported on MgO were tested using wheat straw as raw material in a batch reactor at 723 K and water density of 0.07 cm^(3)/g.Experimental results showed that the order of metal catalyst activity for hydrogen generation was Ni/MgO>Fe/MgO>Cu/MgO.Secondly,the influence of different supports on Ni catalysts performance was investigated.The results showed that the order of the Ni catalysts’activity with different supports was Ni/MgO>Ni/ZnO>Ni/Al_(2)O_(3)>Ni/ZrO_(2).Finally,the effects of Ni loading and the amount of Ni catalyst addition on hydrogen production,and the stability of Ni/MgO catalyst were studied.It was found that serious deactivation of Ni catalyst in the process of supercritical water gasification took place.Even if carbon deposited on the catalyst surface was removed by high temperature calcination and the catalyst was reduced with hydrogen,the activity of used catalyst was only partially restored.Youjun Lu Hui Jin Rui Zhang 2019Carbon Resources Conversion2019,2,1:4
5A computational particle fluid-dynamics simulation of hydrodynamics in a three-dimensional full-loop circulating fluidized bed: Effects of particle-size distribution显示文摘A computational particle fluid-dynamics model coupled with an energy-minimization multi-scale(EMMS)drag model was applied to investigate the influence of particle-size distribution on the hydrodynamics of a three-dimensional full-loop circulating fluidized bed.Different particle systems,including one monodisperse and two polydisperse cases,were investigated.The numerical model was validated by comparing its results with the experimental axial voidage distribution and solid mass flux.The EMMS drag model had a high accuracy in the computational particle fluid-dynamics simulation of the three-dimensional full-loop circulating fluidized bed.The total number of parcels in the system(Np)influenced the axial voidage distribution in the riser,especially at the lower part of the riser.Additional numerical simulation results showed that axial segregation by size was predicted in the two polydisperse cases and the segregation size increased with an increase in the number of size classes.The axial voidage distribution at the lower portion of the riser was significantly influenced by particle-size distribution.However,radial segregation could only be correctly predicted in the upper region of the riser in the polydisperse case of three solid species.Hang Zhang Youjun Lu 2020Particuology2020,18,2:3
6RNA interference-mediated silencing of vATPase subunits A and E affect survival and development of the 28-spotted ladybeetle,Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata显示文摘RNA interference(RNAi)has emerged as a powerful tool for developing novel management strategies for controlling insect pests.The 28-spotted ladybeetle,Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata is one of the most important pests attacking solanaceous plants in Asia.In this study,the potential of dietary RNAi to manage H.vigintioctopunctata was investigated using both in vitro synthesized and bacterially expressed double-stranded RNAs(dsRNAs)of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E.The expression levels of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E were higher in Malpighian tubules than in other tissue types.The silencing of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E led to significant mortality in H.vigintioctopunctata larvae.In addition,the ingestion of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E significantly deterred feeding behavior and subsequently arrested the development of H.vigintioctopunctata.Notably,the bacterially expressed dsRNAs consistently caused higher mortality in larvae and adults.Finally,the nontarget effects of the dsRNAs of H.vigintioctopunctata on the predatory ladybeetle Propylaea japonica were evaluated.P.japonica 1st instar larvae were administered vATPase A and vATPase E dsRNAs from H.vigintioctopunctata and P.japonica under the worst-case scenario,in which dsGFP served as negative control.There were significant effects of dsHvvATPase A on P.japonica at the transcriptional level but not at the organismal level,whereas dsHvvATPase E did not effect P.japonica at either the transcriptional or the organismal level.Collectively,the results of the study suggest that HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E can act as novel molecular targets for the control of H.vigintioctopunctata.Wei Guo Mujuan Guo Chunxiao Yang Zhuoqi Liu Shimin Chen Jing Lu Baoli Qiu Youjun Zhang Xuguo Zhou Huipeng Pan 2021Insect Science2021,28,6:3
7Fluvial sediments in the Alagxa Plateau as a dust source: iron mineralogical and geochemical evidence显示文摘The Alagxa Plateau, in the margin of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, is one of the most important dust source areas in East Asia, and the widespread sandy desert in the area is important both as a reservoir and a source of eolian silty. The northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau is one of the most actively-growing mountain belt on earth, and has large amounts of debris, with masses of fine grained material, which were continuously mobilized and deposited in the Alagxa Plateau by rivers, forming broad alluvial fans. It is possible that the role of fluvial sediments as a source of silty dust in the Alagxa Plateau has been underestimated. In this study, we test this hypothesis by investigating the iron mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of the fluvial sediments and the surface material of the sandy desert in the Alagxa Plateau, and comparing them with paleo-eolian dust deposits(loess) in the adjacent Chinese Loess Plateau(CLP) to investigate the possible linkages among the fluvial sediments, sandy desert and the last glacial loess of the CLP. The results show that sandy desert typically have high contents of goethite, and high ratios of goethite to hematite, similar to the fluvial sediments in the Alagxa Plateau. Based on the major element characteristics, field investigations and the results of previous studies, we found a genetic link between the silt component of the fluvial sediments and the sandy desert in the Alagxa Plateau with high value of Gt(goethite) and similarity of the Gt/(Hm(hematite)+Gt) ratio. But the silt component of the sandy desert main come from the adjacent fluvial sediments. The iron mineralogical characteristics(χ(magnetic susceptibility), χARM(anhysteretic susceptibility), SIRM(saturation isothermal remanent magnetization) and SIRM_(AF100 mT)(SIRM demagnetized at 100 mT)) of the CLP samples overlap with those of the fluvial sediments in the Alagxa Plateau, but there is a mismatch with the sandy desert samples. This suggests that the fluvial sediments are the source of a large amount of silty material which could be transported to the CLP. 8Wall-to-bed heat transfer in supercritical water fluidized bed using CFD-DEM显示文摘Supercritical water fluidized bed(SCWFB)reactors are designed to gasify biomass or coal with high efficiency.In this paper,the wall-to-bed heat transfer characteristics in SCWFB are studied using the computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method(CFD-DEM)coupled with a constant heat flux boundary.Two different methods are considered to deal with the multiphase heat flux boundary in CFD-DEM because there is currently no single widely accepted approach.Zhang’s method predicts a more accurate wall-to-bed heat transfer coefficient in SCWFB than Lattanzi’s method according to comparisons of the simulation results with an empirical correlation.The influences of temperature,pressure,velocity,and the solid phase properties,such as the particle diameter,particle heat capacity,particle thermal conductivity,and particle density,on the SCWFB wall-to-bed heat transfer characteristics are studied based on Zhang’s method.The simulation results help reveal the SCWFB heat transfer characteristics.Tianning Zhang Youjun Lu 2021Particuology2021,19,3:2
9The Gravitational-wave physics Ⅱ: Progress显示文摘It has been a half-decade since the first direct detection of gravitational waves, which signifies the coming of the era of the gravitational-wave astronomy and gravitational-wave cosmology. The increasing number of the detected gravitational-wave events has revealed the promising capability of constraining various aspects of cosmology, astronomy, and gravity. Due to the limited space in this review article, we will briefly summarize the recent progress over the past five years, but with a special focus on some of our own work for the Key Project 'Physics associated with the gravitational waves' supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. 10Cosmological parameter fittings with the BICEP2 data显示文摘Combining the latest Planck,Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe(WMAP),and baryon acoustic oscillation(BAO)data,we exploit the recent cosmic microwave background(CMB)B-mode power spectra data released by the BICEP2 collaboration to constrain the cosmological parameters of the ACDM model,especially the primordial power spectra parameters of the scalar and the tensor modes,ns,s,r,nt.We obtain constraints on the parameters for a lensed ACDM model using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo(MCMC)technique,the marginalized 68%bounds are r=0.03070.09140.1043,ns=0.00610.00610.9617,s=0.01050.00970.0175,nt=0.45150.45790.5198.We find that a blue tilt for nt is favored slightly,but it is still well consistent with flat or even red tilt.Our r value is slightly smaller than the one obtained by the BICEP group,in that we permit nt as a free parameter without imposing the single-field slow roll inflation consistency relation.When we impose this relation,then r=0.04460.06090.2130.For most other parameters,the best fit values and measurement errors are not altered significantly by the introduction of the BICEP2 data.WU FengQuan LI YiChao LU YouJun CHEN XueLei 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,8:2
