| 1 | Necroptosis in inflammatory bowel disease and other intestinal diseases显示文摘For a long time, it was believed that apoptosis and necrosis were the main pathways for cell death, but a growing body of research has shown that there are other pathways. Among these, necroptosis, a regulatory caspase-independent, programmed cell death pathway, is supposed to be of importance in the pathogenesis of many diseases. The mechanism of regulating, inducing and blocking necroptosis is a complex process that involves expression and regulation of a series of molecules including receptor interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), RIPK3, and mixed lineage kinase like protein. By blocking or downregulating expression of key molecules in the necroptotic pathway, intestinal inflammation can be affected to some extent. | 2 | Anisotropic surface roughness and shear behaviors of rough-walled plaster joints under constant normal load and constant normal stiffness conditions显示文摘In this context,we experimentally studied the anisotropic mechanical behaviors of rough-walled plaster joints using a servo-controlled direct shear apparatus under both constant normal load(CNL)and constant normal stiffness(CNS)conditions.The shear-induced variations in the normal displacement,shear stress,normal stress and sheared-off asperity mass are analyzed and correlated with the inclination angle of the critical waviness of joint surfaces.The results show that CNS condition gives rise to a smaller normal displacement due to the larger normal stress during shearing,compared with CNL condition.Under CNL conditions,there is one peak shear stress during shearing,whereas there are no peak shear stress for some cases and two peaks for other cases under CNS conditions depending on the geometry of joint surfaces.The inclination angle of the critical waviness has been verified to be capable of describing the joint surface roughness and anisotropy.The joint surface is more significantly damaged under CNS conditions than that under CNL conditions.With increment of the inclination angle of the critical waviness,both the normal displaceme nt and shea red-off asperity mass increase,following power law functions;yet the coefficient of deternination under CNL conditions is larger than that under CNS conditions.This is because the CNS condition significantly decreases the inclination angle of the critical waviness during shearing due to the larger degree of asperity degradation. | Richeng Liu Sha Lou Xiaojing Li Guansheng Han Yujing Jiang | 2020 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,2: | 5 |

| 4 | A 3-D DDA damage analysis of brick masonry buildings under the impact of boulders in mountainous areas显示文摘In mountainous areas, geological disasters carrying large boulders can cause severe damage to the widely used masonry buildings due to the high impact forces. To better understand the damage of brick masonry buildings under the impact of boulders, a 'block-joint' model is developed using threedimensional discontinuous deformation analysis(3-D DDA) to simulate the behaviour of the 'brick-mortar' structure. The 'block-joint' model is used to capture not only the large displacement and deformation of individual bricks but also the large-scale sliding and opening along the mortar between the bricks. The linear elastic constitutive model is applied to account for the non-plastic deformation behaviour of brick materials. Furthermore, the mechanical characteristics of the mortar are represented using the Mohr-Coulomb and Drucker-Prager criteria. To propose safe structural design schemes and effective reinforcement for brick masonry buildings, seven construction techniques are considered, includingdifferent grades of brick and mortar, effective shear areas and reinforced members. The proposed 3-D DDA model is used to analyse the velocity distribution and the key point displacements of the brick masonry building under the impact of boulders. | 13 | Direct identification of total and missing OH reactivities from light-duty gasoline vehicle exhaust in China based on LP-LIF measurement显示文摘Considerable efforts have been devoted to characterising the chemical components of vehicle exhaust.However,these components may not accurately reflect the contribution of vehicle exhaust to atmospheric reactivity because of the presence of species not accounted for(“missing species”)given the limitations of analytical instruments.In this study,we improved the laser photolysis–laser-induced fluorescence(LP-LIF)technique and applied it to directly measure the total OH reactivity(TOR)in exhaust gas from light-duty gasoline vehicles in China.The TOR for China Ⅰ to Ⅵ-a vehicles was 15.6,16.3,8.4,2.6,1.5,and 1.6×10^(4) sec^(-1),respectively,reflecting a notable drop as emission standards were upgraded.The TOR was comparable between cold and warm starts.The missing OH reactivity(MOR)values for China Ⅰ to Ⅳ vehicles were close to zero with a cold start but were much higher with a warm start.The variations in oxygenated volatile organic compounds(OVOCs)under different emission standards and for the two start conditions were similar to those of the MOR,indicating that OVOCs and the missing species may have similar production processes.Online measurement revealed that the duration of the stable driving stage was the primary factor leading to the production of OVOCs and missing species.Our findings underscore the importance of direct measurement of TOR from vehicle exhaust and highlight the necessity of adding OVOCs and other organic reactive gases in future upgrades of emission standards,such that the vehicular contribution to atmospheric reactivity can be more effectively controlled. | Xuehui Liu Zibing Yuan Qing’e Sha Shengrong Lou Hongli Wang Xin Li Junyu Zheng Bin Yuan Min Shao | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,11: | 0 |
| 14 | Hurricane impacts on turbidity and sediment in the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Florida, USA显示文摘The resuspension and transportation of sediments affect the nutrient or contaminants cycles in water column.Therefore,hurricane-induced sediment resuspension in coastal waters may cause environment impacts on coastal ecosystems.In this study,field observed data during a hurricane event from the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve(Rookery Bay NERR),Florida,were studied.Based on the relationship between sediment and turbidity,variations of turbidity in the Rookery Bay NERR were discussed in this paper under the impact of the Hurricane Isaac in 2012.Time series analysis indicates that Hurricane Isaac causes the substantial increase of turbidity.Traditional direct regression analysis with raw data was found to result in poor correlation(R^2 < 0.41) between wind speed and turbidity due to the impacts of multi-factors in coastal waters of study region during hurricane.Then Hanning Filter was used to remove tidal effect,which shows some improvement of correlations(R2 > 0.6) between wind speed and turbidity.Further improvement was made by introducing a phase factor to account for the lag time between the peak turbidity and peak wind speed,which lead to further improvement of the regression equation between wind speed and turbidity.By using Hanning Filter and phase factor,the regression equation between turbidity and wind speed fits well with observations(R2 > 0.96).Different lag time between wind speed and turbidity at different locations illustrated that wind had different effects on turbidity due to the locations and water depth.Based on the approximate empirical relationship between turbidity and sediment concentration,a regression equation between wind speed and sediment concentration was derived approximately.The equation could be applied to approximately estimate the sediment concentration using wind speed during hurricane,especially with the strong wind speed above 4 m/s.It can be used to provide technical supports for sediment assessment and coastal zone research under extreme clime in the study region. | Sha Lou Wenrui Huang Shuguang Liu Guihui Zhong Elijah Johnson | 2016 | International Journal of Sediment Research2016,31,4: | 0 |
