| 3 | MicroRNAs:Promising chemoresistance biomarkers in gastric cancer with diagnostic and therapeutic potential显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC) is the fourth most common cancer worldwide and ranks second in global cancer mortality statistics. Perioperative chemotherapy plays an important role in the management and treatment of advanced stage disease. However,response to chemotherapy varies widely,with some patients presenting no or only minor response to treatment. Hence,chemotherapy resistance is a major clinical problem that impacts on outcome. Unfortunately,to date there are no reliable biomarkers available that predict response to chemotherapy before the start of the treatment,or that allow modification of chemotherapy resistance. MicroRNAs(miRNAs) could provide an answer to this problem. miRNAs are involved in the initiation and progression of a variety of cancer types,and there is evidence that miRNAs impact on resistance towards chemotherapeutic drugs as well. | 4 | Estimating steatosis and fibrosis: Comparison of acoustic structure quantification with established techniques显示文摘AIM:To compare ultrasound-based acoustic structure quantification(ASQ) with established non-invasive techniques for grading and staging fatty liver disease.METHODS:Type 2 diabetic patients at risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(n = 50) and healthy volunteers(n = 20) were evaluated using laboratory analysis and anthropometric measurements, transient elastography(TE), controlled attenuation parameter(CAP), proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-MRS; only available for the diabetic cohort), and ASQ.ASQ parameters mode, average and focal disturbance(FD) ratio were compared with:(1) the extent of liver fibrosis estimated from TE and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) fibrosis scores; and(2) the amount of steatosis, which was classified according to CAP values.RESULTS:Forty-seven diabetic patients(age 67.0±8.6 years;body mass index 29.4±4.5 kg/m2)with reliable CAP measurements and all controls(age 26.5±3.2 years;body mass index 22.0±2.7 kg/m2)were included in the analysis.All ASQ parameters showed differences between healthy controls and diabetic patients(P<0.001,respectively).The ASQ FD ratio(logarithmic)correlated with the CAP(r=-0.81,P<0.001)and 1H-MRS(r=-0.43,P=0.004)results.The FD ratio[CAP<250 d B/m:107(102-109),CAP between 250 and 300 d B/m:106(102-114);CAP between 300 and 350 d B/m:105(100-112),CAP≥350 d B/m:102(99-108)]as well as mode and average parameters,were reduced in cases with advanced steatosis(ANOVA P<0.05).However,none of the ASQ parameters showed a significant difference in patients with advanced fibrosis,as determined by TE and the NAFLD fibrosis score(P>0.08,respectively).CONCLUSION:ASQ parameters correlate with steatosis,but not with fibrosis in fatty liver disease.Steatosis estimation with ASQ should be further evaluated in biopsy-controlled studies. | Thomas Karlas Joachim Berger Nikita Garnov Franziska Lindner Harald Busse Nicolas Linder Alexander Schaudinn Bettina Relke Rima Chakaroun Michael Trltzsch Johannes Wiegand Volker Keim | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，16： | 9 |

| 10 | Effects of temperature,pH and O_(2) on the removal of hydrogen sulfide from biogas by external biological desulfurization in a full scale fixed-bed trickling bioreactor(FBTB)显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)is a critical component of biogas formed under anaerobic conditions by sulfur and sulfate reducing bacteria from animal manure and renewable energy crops.H_(2)S causes high corrosion in equipment,has a negative environmental impact,inhibits the biogas formation process and is furthermore odorous and toxic.Although several methods for internal and external desulfurization found their way into practice and had been explored at laboratory scale,no data were available on the performance of such methods in full scale practice,especially for an external fixed-bed trickling bioreactor(FBTB).The effects of temperature,pH and air ratio on H_(2)S removal efficiency(RE)were studied.The study was conducted at a research biogas plant with a given output of 96 m^(3) biogas per hour,and an H_(2)S concentration ranging between 500 ppm and 600 ppm(1 ppm=1 cm^(3)/m^(3))on average.The FBTB column has been designed to hold a packing volume of 2.21 m^(3) at a gas retention time of 84 seconds being loaded at an average of 32.88 g H_(2)S/(m^(3)·h).The highest H_(2)S RE of 98% was found at temperatures between 30℃ and 40℃.A major decline in RE to 21%-45%was observed at temperatures from 5℃ to 25℃.The results clearly showed a temperature optimum range for sulfate reducing bacteria.The results reveal that RE is little affected by different pH values and air ratios.During the experimental period,the practical suitability of the FBTB system could be proved while avoiding the disadvantages of internal biological desulfurization methods. | Hans-Joachim Naegele Jonas Lindner Wolfgang Merkle Andreas Lemmer Thomas Jungbluth Claus Bogenrieder | 2013 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013，6，1： | 3 |
