| 2 | Necking of Q&P Steel during Uniaxial Tensile Test with the Aid of DIC Technique显示文摘A lot of research has been focused on the necking process during the plastic deformation of sheet metals, but the localized necking is rarely distinguished form diffused necking by experiments, due to the limit of measurement equipment and method. Quenching and Partitioning (Q&P) steel is a 3rd generation advanced high strength steel (AHSS). Its good combination of high strength and ductility ensures potential application in automobile industry. Uniaxial tensile tests of QP980 steel sheet at five strain rates are performed to investigate the necking process and the effect of strain rate on necking behavior of Q&P steel. Digital image correlation (DIC) method is applied during tensile tests, and evolutions of major strain, minor strain and normal strain distributions along gauge section of the tensile specimens are obtained. The diffused and localized necking strains are determined according to SWIFT necking theory and HILL necking theory respectively. The test results indicate that with the increasing of strain rate in the investigated range, the diffused necking strain decreases from 0.152 to 0.120 and localized necking strain decreases from 0.245 to 0.137. Meanwhile, the difference of the two strains decreases form 0.096 to 0.017. Thus it can be concluded that strain rate has an influence on both necking strains during the deformation of QP980 steel sheet. | 3 | Investigation on Uniaxial Tensile Instability of USIBOR1500 Steel Sheets at Elevated Temperature显示文摘In the sheet forming process with stretch, diffuse instability and localized instability usually occur in the process one after another. The necking rate has a great impact on the instability process and the forming limits of the rate sensitive material, such as USIBOR1500 steel sheets at elevated temperature. The available reports about this steel mainly focus on hot uniaxial tensile, martensitic transformation and forming process, but there are few investigations on instability behavior and forming limits. Based on Inoue Kachiro’s flow stress constitutive model at elevated temperature, combined with Swift’s diffuse instability rule and Hill’s localized instability rule, the relation is theoretically deduced between the diffuse necking rate along with the localized necking rate and the exponent of strain rate sensitivity together with the strain rate in the case of the USIBOR1500 steel sheets at elevated temperature. According to the time–temperature characteristics of the hot stamping process, tensile tests of the steel sheets were carried out on Gleeble3800, and the stress–strain curves were obtained at different temperatures and different strain rates. Then the values of the exponent of strain rate sensitivity and the hardening exponent were obtained through fitting the curves by least squares. The tests also helped to provide the distribution laws of the major strain of the specimens and the uniform strains as well as the necking width. | 4 | Prediction of Cross-Tension Strength of Self-Piercing Riveted Joints Using Finite Element Simulation and XGBoost Algorithm显示文摘Self-piercing riveting(SPR)has been widely used in automobile industry,and the strength prediction of SPR joints always attracts the attention of researchers.In this work,a prediction method of the cross-tension strength of SPR joints was proposed on the basis of finite element(FE)simulation and extreme gradient boosting decision tree(XGBoost)algorithm.An FE model of SPR process was established to simulate the plastic deformations of rivet and substrate materials and verified in terms of cross-sectional dimensions of SPR joints.The residual mechanical field from SPR process simulation was imported into a 2D FE model for the cross-tension testing simulation of SPR joints,and cross-tension strengths from FE simulation show a good consistence with the experiment result.Based on the verified FE model,the mechanical properties and thickness of substrate materials were varied and then used for FE simulation to obtain cross-tension strengths of a number of SPR joints,which were used to train the regression model based on the XGBoost algorithm in order to achieve prediction for cross-tension strength of SPR joints.Results show that the cross-tension strengths of SPR steel/aluminum joints could be successfully predicted by the XGBoost regression model with a respective error less than 7.6%compared to experimental values. | Jianping Lin Chengwei Qi Hailang Wan Junying Min Jiajie Chen Kai Zhang Li Zhang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 8 |
| 5 | BubR1 phosphorylates CENP-E as a switch enabling the transition from lateral association to end-on capture of spindle microtubules显示文摘Error-free mitosis depends on accurate chromosome attachment to spindle microtubules, powered congression of those chromosomes, their segregation in anaphase, and assembly of a spindle midzone at mitotic exit. The centromere-associated kinesin motor CENP-E, whose binding partner is BubR1, has been implicated in congression of misaligned chromosomes and the transition from lateral kinetochore-microtubule association to end-on capture. Although previously proposed to be a pseudokinase, here we report the structure of the kinase domain of Drosophila melanogaster BubR1, revealing its folding into a conformation predicted to be catalytically active. BubR1 is shown to be a bona fide kinase whose phosphorylation of CENP-E switches it from a laterally attached microtubule motor to a plus-end microtubule tip tracker. Computational modeling is used to identify bubristatin as a selective BubR1 kinase antagonist that targets the αN1 helix of N-terminal extension and αC helix of the BubR1 kinase domain. Inhibition of CENP-E phosphorylation is shown to prevent proper microtubule capture at kinetochores and, surprisingly, proper assembly of the central spindle at mitotic exit. | 6 | Background concentrations of reactive gases and the impacts of long-range transport at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station显示文摘Lorentz curve fittings are applied to frequency distributions of the concentrations of O 3 , CO, NO x and SO 2 recorded at the Jinsha regional atmospheric background station (JSH) from June 2006 to July 2007, and the peak concentrations of these species for the different seasons are obtained. The peak concentrations are considered to be representative of different background levels for certain processes. The peak concentrations are compared with the corresponding mean (median) concentrations, and the suitability and limitations of the mean (median) values as the background levels are discussed. The mean (median) values might represent the background concentrations in the region under some circumstances, but in other cases these values often underestimate or overestimate the true background concentrations owing to the transport of pollutants and other factors. The effects of air masses transported from different regions on the pollutant background concentrations are obtained by analyzing the 72-hour backward trajectories of air masses 100 m above the ground at JSH. These trajectories are estimated using the HYSPLIT model and then clustered for the measurement period. The spatial distribution and seasonal variations of trajectories and the corresponding mean concentrations of O 3 , SO 2 , NO x and CO for different clusters are analyzed. After filtering the seasonal changes in pollutant concentrations, the relative influences of air masses from different regions are obtained. The results show that JSH can be used to obtain the atmospheric background information of different air masses originating from or passing over the Yangtze River Delta, Central South China and the Jianghan Plain. Air masses from Central China, South China, and the western Yangtze River Delta contribute significantly to O 3 at JSH. Air masses from the north and northeast of JSH (i.e., the Jianghan Plain, Huang-Huai Plain and North China Plain) and the south (Central South China) contribute significantly to SO 2 , CO and NO x concentrations. Air masses originating from the ocean often bring clean air. | 7 | Improvement of water resistance of long afterglow SrAl_2O_4: Dy, Eu phosphor by coating with SiO_2 film显示文摘The long afterglow SrAl2O4:Dy,Eu phosphor is liable to hydrolyze in water with deterioration of the luminescent property. SrAl2O4:Dy,Eu phosphors were therefore heated at 60-90℃ in TEOS sol to form a surface gel and then heat-treated at 400℃ to obtain SiO2 coated phosphors. Observation by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) shows that a thin silica film forms on the surface of the phosphors. | 11 | Kinectin 1 promotes the growth of triple-negative breast cancer via directly co-activating NF-kappaB/p65 and enhancing its transcriptional activity显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is the most challenging subtype of breast cancer.Various endeavor has been made to explore the molecular biology basis of TNBC.Herein,we reported a novel function of factor Kinectin 1(KTN1)as a carcinogenic promoter in TNBC.KTN1 expression in TNBC was increased compared with adjacent tissues or luminal or Her2 subtypes of breast cancer,and TNBC patients with high KTN1 expression have poor prognosis.In functional studies,knockdown of KTN1 inhibited the proliferation and invasiveness of TNBC both in vitro and in vivo,while overexpression of KTN1 promoted cancer cell proliferation and invasiveness.RNA-seq analysis revealed that the interaction of cytokine-cytokine receptor,particularly CXCL8 gene,was upregulated by KTN1,which was supported by the further experiments.CXCL8 depletion inhibited the tumorigenesis and progression of TNBC.Additionally,rescue experiments validated that KTN1-mediated cell growth acceleration in TNBC was dependent on CXCL8 both in vitro and in vivo.Furthermore,it was found that KTN1 enhanced the phosphorylation of NF-κB/p65 protein at Ser536 site,and specifically bound to NF-κB/p65 protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells.Moreover,the transcription of CXCL8 gene was directly upregulated by the complex of KTN1 and NF-κB/p65 protein.Taken together,our results elucidated a novel mechanism of KTN1 gene in TNBC tumorigenesis and progression.KTN1 may be a potential molecular target for the development of TNBC treatment. | Lin Gao Shanze Chen Malin Hong Wenbin Zhou Bilan Wang Junying Qiu Jinquan Xia Pan Zhao Li Fu Jigang Wang Yong Dai Ni Xie Qinhe Yang Hsien-Da Huang Xiang Gao Chang Zou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8: | 2 |
| 12 | Constitutive Model of Friction Stir Weld with Consideration of its Inhomogeneous Mechanical Properties显示文摘In practical engineering, finite element(FE) modeling for weld seam is commonly simplified by neglecting its inhomogeneous mechanical properties. This will cause a significant loss in accuracy of FE forming analysis, in particular, for friction stir welded(FSW) blanks due to the large width and good formability of its weld seam. The inhomogeneous mechanical properties across weld seam need to be well characterized for an accurate FE analysis. Based on a similar AA5182 FSW blank, the metallographic observation and micro-Vickers hardness analysis upon the weld cross-section are performed to identify the interfaces of different sub-zones, i.e., heat affected zone(HAZ), thermal-mechanically affected zone(TMAZ) and weld nugget(WN). Based on the rule of mixture and hardness distribution, a constitutive model is established for each sub-zone to characterize the inhomogeneous mechanical properties across the weld seam. Uniaxial tensile tests of the AA5182 FSW blank are performed with the aid of digital image correlation(DIC) techniques. Experimental local stress-strain curves are obtained for different weld sub-zones. The experimental results show good agreement with those derived from the constitutive models, which demonstrates the feasibility and accuracy of these models. | 13 | Effect of Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment on the Lap-Shear Strength of Adhesive-Bonded Sheet Molding Compound Joints显示文摘Atmospheric pressure plasma treatment(APPT)technology was used herein to treat sheet molding compound(SMC)substrates to increase the lap-shear strength of adhesive-bondedSMCjoints.Further,the mechanisms behind the lap-shear strength improvements in APPT-treated adhesive-bonded SMC joints were explored.A maximum lap-shear strength about three times that of the as-received SMC joints was achieved when the APPT distance was set to 20 mm.The surface roughness,which exhibited little benefit to the lap-shear strength,was determined to not be the primary reason for the increase in lap-shear strength.Specifically,X-ray photoelectron spectra revealed that an increased amount of O-containing groups(i.e.,C–O–H,C–O–C,H–O–C=O or R–O–C=O)following APPT contributed to the improved lap-shear strength.In addition,the surface free energy increased significantly after APPT,which improved the lap-shear strength of the adhesive-bonded SMC joints.Compared to the change of surface morphology,the changes in both the surface chemical property and surface free energy played larger roles in increasing the lap-shear strength of APPT-treated SMC joints. | Shuang Wang Junying Min Jianping Lin Chengcheng Sun Shanglu Yang | 2018 | Automotive Innovation2018,1,3: | 2 |

| 17 | Effects of terrain slope on water distribution and application uniformity for sprinkler irrigation显示文摘In order to provide practical parameters for sprinkler irrigation system design on slope land,the effects of terrain slope on water distribution,sprinkler throw radius and water application uniformity were analyzed for the Rainbird LF1200 sprinkler.The results show that,the water distribution curve is roughly“heart-shape”on slope land,and the water has the trend of focusing on the upslope with the increase of the slope.Throw radius decreases for the upslope and increases for the downslope as the slope increases.For the convenience of sprinkler irrigation system design on slope land,a formula for computing throw radius on slope land was put forward by the theoretical derivation,and it was verified by the experimental data.The impact of sprinkler pressure and spacing on CU for slope land is more significant than that for flat ground.Under the experimental condition,no significant change is found regarding the influence of terrain slope on water application uniformity at the confidence level of 95%.Taking irrigation quality and economy into account,the Rainbird LF1200 sprinkler should be operated at the manufactures’recommended pressure,rather than low pressure,with sprinkler spacing from 8 m×8 m to 10 m×10 m below the slope of 0.15 in practice. | Lin Zhang Xin Hui Junying Chen | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,3: | 1 |
| 18 | Investigation on Yield Behavior of 7075‑T6 Aluminum Alloy at Elevated Temperatures显示文摘Aluminum alloys have drawn considerable attention in the area of automotive lightweight.High strength aluminum alloys are usually deformed at elevated temperatures due to their poor formability at room temperature.In this work,the yield behavior of 7075 aluminum alloy in T6 temper(AA7075-T6)within the temperature ranging from 25°C to 230°C was investigated.Uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests with the aid of induction heating system were performed to determine the stress vs.strain curves and the yield loci of AA7075-T6 at elevated temperatures,respectively.Von Mises,Hill48 and Yld2000-2d yield criteria were applied to predicting yield loci which were compared with experimentally measured yield loci of the AA7075-T6.Results show that yield stress corresponding to the same equivalent plastic strain decreases with increasing temperature within the investigated temperature range and the shape of yield loci evolves nearly negligibly.The experimental yield locus expands with an increase of equivalent plastic strain at the same temperature and the work hardening rate of AA7075-T6 exhibits obvious stress-state-dependency.The nonquadratic Yld2000-2d yield criterion describes the yield surfaces of AA7075-T6 more accurately than the quadratic von Mises and Hill48 yield criteria,and an exponent of 14 in the Yld2000-2d yield function gives the optimal predictions for the AA7075-T6 at all investigated temperatures. | Jianping Lin Xingyu Bao Yong Hou Junying Min Xinlei Qu Zhimin Tao Jiajie Chen | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,5: | 1 |
