2Cell membrane-based nanoparticles: a new biomimetic platform for tumor diagnosis and treatment显示文摘Taking inspiration from nature, the biomimetic concept has been integrated into drug delivery systems in cancer therapy. Disguised with cell membranes, the nanoparticles can acquire various functions of natural cells. The cell membrane-coating technology has pushed the limits of common nano-systems(fast elimination in circulation) to more effectively navigate within the body. Moreover, because of the various functional molecules on the surface, cell membrane-based nanoparticles(CMBNPs) are capable of interacting with the complex biological microenvironment of the tumor. Various sources of cell membranes have been explored to camouflage CMBNPs and different tumor-targeting strategies have been developed to enhance the anti-tumor drug delivery therapy. 4Update in version 2021 of CSCO guidelines for colorectal cancer from version 2020显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC) is one of the major cancers threatening life and health of Chinese residents. According to the latest data released by the National Cancer Center in2015(1), there were 387,000 new cases and 187,100 deaths of CRC in China, accounting for 9.87% and 8.01% of all malignancies. The first version of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) guidelines was released in April2017, and has been updated annually based on the latest clinical research data and the availability of new drugs(2-4). 5Study on the HPHT synthetic diamond crystal from Fe-C(H) system and its significance显示文摘Investigations of crystal habit, micro-topographic imaging, micro-composition and micro-structural analysis of HPHT synthetic diamonds from the Fe-C(H) system indicate that most of them have an oc-tahedral habit. The crystals grow mainly layer-to-layer from center to periphery. HPHT synthetic dia-mond is smaller in size than natural diamond because it only goes through nucleation and growth in the early stage. In the middle and late stages, due to the coalescence of diamond grains related to dif-ferences of surface energy, the growth of HPHT synthetic diamond is limited. The active energy (E) of transforming single nitrogen into a nitrogen-pair is lowered and the time of transforming single nitro-gen into a nitrogen-pair is shortened because of the existence of hydrogen. Therefore, aggregate ni-trogen (A-centers) may exist in synthetic diamond from HPHT and explosive detonation processes. It needs further discussion on a worldwide view that the time of natural diamond formation extracted from nitrogen aggregation is some hundred million years. Consideration of the way in which surface energy influences the growth of diamond can help to understand some of the remaining issues (e.g. growth mechanism, etc.) in the HPHT synthetic process and effectively explain the formation of natural diamond in terms of HPHT thermodynamic theory. 6Potential influence of water level changes on energy flows in a lake food web显示文摘Large seasonal water-level fluctuations may influence isotopic signatures of primary producers and the types and amounts of these potential food sources accessible to aquatic fauna of Poyang Lake,the largest freshwater lake in China.In this study,the isotopic signatures of primary producers and consumers were determined,stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis and mixing models were combined to investigate the influence of water levels on the diet and isotopic composition of Poyang Lake fish and invertebrates.Five potential food sources (seston,benthic organic matter,aquatic macrophytes,attached algae,and terrestrial plants),4 species of invertebrates,and 10 species of fish were collected from the lake area during dry and wet seasons between January 2009 and April 2010.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were within the range of δ 13C values of the potential food sources for both seasons.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were lower in the dry season than in the wet season,whereas the δ 15N values exhibited different patterns for different species.Mixing models indicated that the most important food sources for common lake fauna were seston in the dry season and aquatic macrophytes and terrestrial plants in the wet season.The fauna were more omnivorous in the wet season than in the dry season.The food web dynamics of Poyang Lake are strongly influenced by changes in the abundance and accessibility of different basal food sources that occur because of seasonal flood pulses.The trophic links within the aquatic communities of Poyang Lake are modified by water-level fluctuations.WANG YuYu YU XiuBo LI WenHua XU Jun CHEN YuWei FAN Na 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:11
7Synthesis of condensed polynuclear aromatic resin from furfural extract oil of reduced-pressure route Ⅱ显示文摘As an industrial byproduct of oil refining,furfural extract oil from reduced-pressure route Ⅱ with high aromatic content was used to prepare heat-resistant condensed polynuclear aromatic(COPNA) resin for the first time.The basic properties of furfural extract oil and the resultant COPNA resin were characterized by infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and elemental analysis(EA).The result showed that heat treated furfural extract oil was successfully used for the synthesis of heat-resistant COPNA resin.The average structural parameters of raw materials and prepared resin were calculated by the improved Brown-Ladner method,and the averaged molecular structure of the resin was obtained.The reaction mechanism for the synthesis of COPNA resin was suggested as an acid-catalyzed positive ion type polymerization.Wu Mingbo Jiang Wei Wang Yuwei Li Shibin Zheng Jingtang 2013Petroleum Science2013,10,4:10

9Drug targeting through platelet membrane-coated nanoparticles for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘The effective drug treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is hindered by poordelivery efficiency to the diseased site and the serious side effects caused bywide-spread drug distribution. Traditional drug-targeting strategies, such asligand modification, are complex, laborious, and inefficient. Inspired by theintrinsic relationship between platelets and RA, platelet-mimetic nanoparticles(PNPs) were developed for targeted drug delivery in RA. Through plateletreceptor-mediated adhesion, an intact platelet membrane was coated onto poly(lactic-co-glycolic add) nanopartides, endowing the resulting PNPs with variousfunctional receptors. By coating with platelet membranes, the nanoparticleswere stabilized and had a better circulation profile, providing a benefit forpassive targeting. In vitro binding of PNPs to inflamed endothelium, and in vivoaccumulation in joints of a collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mouse model of RAwere significantly improved via P-selectin and GVPI recognition, indicating thatthe PNPs could effectively target to RA tissues through multiple mechanisms,similar to natural platelets. Moreover, FK506, a model drug, was loaded into thePNPs and used to treat RA. Pharmacodynamic studies demonstrated that theFK506-PNPs had a notable anti-arthritic effect in CIA mice. 10Research progresses on Cherenkov and transit-time high-power microwave sources at NUDT显示文摘Research progresses on Cherenkov and transit-time high-power microwave(HPM)sources in National University of Defense Technology(NUDT)of China are presented.The research issues are focused on the following aspects.The pulse-shortening phenomenon in O-type Cerenkov HPM devices is suppressed.The compact coaxial relativistic backward-wave oscillators(RBWOs)at low bands are developed.The power efficiency in M-Type HPM tubes without guiding magnetic field increased.The power capacities and power efficiencies in the triaxial klystron amplifier(TKA)and relativistic transit-time oscillator(TTO)at higher frequencies increased.In experiments,some exciting results were obtained.The X-band source generated 2 GW microwave power with a pulse duration of 110 ns in 30 Hz repetition mode.Both L-and P-band compact RBWOs generated over 2 GW microwave power with a power efficiency of over 30%.There is approximately a 75% decline of the volume compared with that of conventional RBWO under the same power capacity conditions.A 1.755 GHz MILO produced 3.1 GW microwave power with power efficiency of 10.4%.A 9.37 GHz TKA produced the 240 MW microwave power with the gain of 34 dB.A 14.3 GHz TTO produced 1 GW microwave power with power efficiency of 20%.Jiande Zhang Xingjun Ge Jun Zhang Juntao He Yuwei Fan Zhiqiang Li Zhenxing Jin Liang Gao Junpu Ling Zumin Qi 2016Matter and Radiation at Extremes2016,1,3:7
11Synthesis and Characterization of Condensed Polynuclear Aromatic Resin Derived from Ethylene Tar显示文摘As a kind of low-cost and readily available industrial byproduct, ethylene tar (ET) was for the first time utilized for the preparation of heat-resistant condensed polynuclear aromatic resin (COPNAR). The basic properties of ET and the resulted COPNAR were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, TGA and elemental analysis. The test results showed that ET with high aromatic content (>50%) was suitable for the synthesis of COPNAR with superior heat resistance. The average molecular structure of ET was obtained by means of the improved Brown-Ladner method, and the reaction mechanism was considered as an acid-catalyzed positive ion-typed polymerization. 14Radiomic analysis of pulmonary ground-glass opacity nodules for distinction of preinvasive lesions, invasive pulmonary adenocarcinoma and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma based on quantitative texture analysis of CT显示文摘Objective: To identify the differences among preinvasive lesions, minimally invasive adenocarcinomas(MIAs)and invasive pulmonary adenocarcinomas(IPAs) based on radiomic feature analysis with computed tomography(CT).Methods: A total of 109 patients with ground-glass opacity lesions(GGOs) in the lungs determined by CT examinations were enrolled, all of whom had received a pathologic diagnosis. After the manual delineation and segmentation of the GGOs as regions of interest(ROIs), the patients were subdivided into three groups based on pathologic analyses: the preinvasive lesions(including atypical adenomatous hyperplasia and adenocarcinoma in situ) subgroup, the MIA subgroup and the IPA subgroup. Next, we obtained the texture features of the GGOs. The data analysis was aimed at finding both the differences between each pair of the groups and predictors to distinguish any two pathologic subtypes using logistic regression. Finally, a receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was applied to accurately evaluate the performances of the regression models.Results: We found that the voxel count feature(P<0.001) could be used as a predictor for distinguishing IPAs from preinvasive lesions. However, the surface area feature(P=0.040) and the extruded surface area feature(P=0.013) could be predictors of IPAs compared with MIAs. In addition, the correlation feature(P=0.046) could distinguish preinvasive lesions from MIAs better.Conclusions: Preinvasive lesions, MIAs and IPAs can be discriminated based on texture features within CT images, although the three diseases could all appear as GGOs on CT images. 15Straw strip mulching in a semiarid rainfed agroecosystem achieves winter wheat yields similar to those of full plastic mulching by optimizing the soil hydrothermal regime显示文摘Straw strip mulching(SM)is a new mulching technology.From 2012 to 2018,SM’s effects on soil moisture and temperature and production performances were compared with other mulching practices,using three treatments:full-cover plastic mulch(PM),no mulch with wheat sown in rows as the control(CK),and SM with 50%to 59%of the field area mulched.Compared with CK,on average over six growing seasons,SM and PM increased grain yield by 27.0%and 21.7%,straw yield by 21.6%and 22.6%,kernels ha;by 26.6%and 19.0%,net income by 29.8%and-25.0%,soil temperature at 5 cm by-1.5°C and 0.2°C from overwintering to maturity,and soil water storage at 0–200 cm by 25 and 22 mm,respectively.The increase in soil moisture in SM and PM was greater in the early period(overwintering to jointing)than in the later period(booting to maturity)and at 0 to 120 cm than at 120–200 cm in the early period.Although the mean evapotranspiration of whole growth period across six seasons was similar among treatments,SM and PM increased water consumption during the key formation period of yield components after overwintering by 16 and 32 mm,respectively,while reducing it before overwintering.Compared with CK,SM and PM had the effects of warming during overwintering and cooling after jointing.By increasing water consumption after overwintering and ratio of transpiration to evapotranspiration and providing favorable soil temperature for multiple growth stages and more sufficient soil moisture,SM and PM promoted vegetative growth and increased kernels ha^(-1),the main mechanisms by which SM and PM increased grain yield relative to CK.Relative to PM,SM is a more economically beneficial and environment-friendly technology for dryland wheat production.Yuwei Chai Qiang Chai Rui Li Yawei Li Changgang Yang Hongbo Cheng Lei Chang Shouxi Chai 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,3:6
16Stalagmite-inferred Holocene precipitation in northern Guizhou Province, China, and asynchronous termination of the Climatic Optimum in the Asian monsoon territory显示文摘An absolute-dated, bi-decadal-resolution, stalagmite oxygen-isotopic time series from Shigao Cave reveals the evolution of summer monsoon precipitation over the past 9.9 ka BP in northern Guizhou Province, Southwest China. The 18O-inferred climate conditions are divisible into three distinct stages: (1) a maximum humid era from 9.9-6.6 ka BP; (2) a gradual declining precipitation interval between 6.6-1.6 ka BP; and (3) a relatively low precipitation time window after 1.6 ka BP. Consistency of contemporaneous stalagmite Holocene 18O records between Shigao and other caves in the Indian and East Asian monsoon realms support the effect of primary orbital solar forcings on monsoonal precipitation. However, statistical analysis shows a significant spatial asynchroneity of the Holocene Optimum termination in the Asian monsoon territory. The Holocene Optimum ended at 7.2-7.4 ka BP in Oman, located in the Indian monsoon region, and at 5.6-5.8 ka BP in Central China, in the East Asian monsoon zone. In Southwest China, the termination occurred between these periods, at 6.6-7.0 ka BP, and was influenced by both monsoon systems. 18Improvements of heat resistance and adhesive property of condensed poly-nuclear aromatic resin via epoxy resin modification显示文摘A bisphenol epoxy resin was used as modifier to increase the heat resistance of condensed poly-nuclear aromatic(COPNA) resin. The basic properties of COPNA resin and modified resin were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR), vapor pressure osmometry(VPO) and elemental analysis(EA). Average structural parameters of resins were calculated by the improved Brown-Ladner method, and heat resistance of resins was tested by thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The chemical structure, mechanical properties and heat resistivity of the resin/graphite composites prepared with different resins were compared. The results show that the adhesive property and heat resistance of COPNA resin can be remarkably improved by addition of 5 wt.% epoxy resin. The reason is that the reactions between epoxy groups of epoxy resin and hydroxyl groups of COPNA resin improve the heat resistance and adhesive property of COPNA resin. 19Effects of preventive acupuncture or moxibustion at the Guanyuan acupoint on expression of interleukin-2 and its receptors in hypothalamus, serum, and uterus of menopausal rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies have indicated preventive acupuncture and moxibustion at the Guanyuan point have positive effects on the immune system of menopausal rats. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of preventive acupuncture or moxibustion at the Guanyuan point on interleukin-2 (IL-2) and its receptor (IL-2R mRNA) levels in hypothalamus, serum, and uterus of menopausal rats. The vaginal smear method was used to determine the estrus cycle of 9.5-month-old Sprague Dawley (SD) female rats. Three continuous estrus cycles were measured, and 160 rats with estrus cycle disorder, weighing (300 ± 20) g, were included in this study. The rats were randomly divided into four groups: preventive acupuncture group (n =48), preventive moxibustion group (n =48), model groups (n =48), and 10-month-old group (n =16). Sixteen 3.5-month-old healthy SD female rats, weighing (240 ± 20) g, were also assigned to the young group. All rats were clean grade and were purchased from the Laboratory Animal Center, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The experiment was in accordance with animal ethics standards. METHODS: Acupuncture was applied to the preventive acupuncture group at 10 months of age. The needle was inserted upward and perpendicularly two fen to a point that was two fen below the Guanyuan point. The rats freely moved around during needle retention (20 minutes). Acupuncture was administered twice a week and continued for eight weeks. A moxa cone (small) moxibustion was applied to the preventive moxibustion group at 10 months of age. The rats were caught gently and kept at the same position as the preventive acupuncture group. The moxa cone was ignited and held to the Guanyuan point directly. Only one moxa cone was used each time. After moxibustion, the local skin turned slightly red. Moxibustion was used twice a week and continued for eight weeks. Nothing except gently catching and lying was administered to the model group and the young group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Radioimmunoassay, in situ hybridization, and similar methods were employed to detect IL-2 in serum and the uterus, as well as IL-2R mRNA expression in the hypothalamus and uterus arcuate nuclei, of the preventive acupuncture group, preventive moxibustion group, model groups (at 12, 14, and 16 months), 10 month old group (at 10 months), and the young group (at 4 months). RESULTS: All 176 rats were included in the final analysis. ① IL-2R mRNA: IL-2R mRNA expression decreased significantly in the uterus of 12-, 14-, and 16-month-old model groups and in the hypothalamus of 14- and 16-month-old model groups (P < 0.05-0.01). Compared to the same month-aged model groups, the expression of IL-2R mRNA increased significantly in the hypothalamus and uterus of 16-month-old preventive acupuncture or moxibustion groups (P < 0.05-0.01).② IL-2: IL-2 in serum of 12- and 14-month-old model groups and in the uterus of 12-, 14-, and 16-month-old model groups decreased significantly compared to the young group (P < 0.05-0.01). IL-2 serum levels increased significantly in the 16-month-old group with preventive moxibustion; in addition, IL-2 expression levels increased significantly in the uterus of the 12-month-old group with preventive moxibustion, as well as the 12- and 16-month-old groups with preventive acupuncture (P < 0.05-0.01). CONCLUSION: As a rat ages and becomes menopausal, IL-2R mRNA expression in the hypothalamus anduterus, as well as IL-2 levels in the serum and uterus, decrease. However, preventive acupuncture and preventive moxibustion can repress the decrease to some extent.
