1Spectral clustering based on matrix perturbation theory显示文摘This paper exposes some intrinsic characteristics of the spectral clustering method by using the tools from the matrix perturbation theory. We construct a weight ma- trix of a graph and study its eigenvalues and eigenvectors. It shows that the num- ber of clusters is equal to the number of eigenvalues that are larger than 1, and the number of points in each of the clusters can be approximated by the associated eigenvalue. It also shows that the eigenvector of the weight matrix can be used directly to perform clustering; that is, the directional angle between the two-row vectors of the matrix derived from the eigenvectors is a suitable distance measure for clustering. As a result, an unsupervised spectral clustering algorithm based on weight matrix (USCAWM) is developed. 2Coastal seafloor observatory at Xiaoqushan in the East China Sea显示文摘The seafloor observation system is becoming an important infrastructure for marine research because it is transforming oceanic research from temporal investigation to long term observation.The East China Sea coastal seafloor observatory,located between 30°31′44″N,122°15′12″E and 30°31′34″N,122°14′40″E,is constructed near the Xiaoqushan Island outside the Hangzhou Bay on the inner continental shelf of the East China Sea.The observatory is connected by a submarine optical fiber composite power cable that is more than one kilometer long and consists of a special junction box that transmits power and communication signals to different instruments.The special junction box has a variety of waterproof plugs and connects to three different instruments installed in a trawl preventer.The submarine optical fiber composite power cable is landed on the platform by The East China Sea Branch,State Oceanic Administration and the power is continuously supplied by the solar panels and solar battery on the top of the platform.The real time data are directly sent through the cable to the platform and are transmitted by CDMA wireless to the receiver at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology of Tongji University.Measurements at the observatory have been taken since April 20,2009 after installation and the results have been interpreted.The characteristics of the near bottom boundary are constrained by a sediment suspension model using portion of the observed data.In particular,discussion is provided on the sea surface height anomaly at Xiaoqushan Island influenced by the tsunami driven by the 2010 Earthquake in Chile.The successful establishment of the coastal seafloor observatory is the first step toward future development of seafloor observation systems in China.It not only accumulates experiences in technology and engineering,but also paves the way for performing important oceanic research using the long term continuous observation platform.XU HuiPing ZHANG YanWei XU ChangWei LI JianRu LIU Ding QIN RuFu LUO ShenQian FAN DaiDu 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:10
3Streamflow responses to climate change and LUCC in a semi-arid watershed of Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘Climate change and Land Use/Cover Change(LUCC) have been identified as two primary factors affecting watershed hydrological regime. This study analyzed the trends of streamflow, precipitation, air temperature and potential evapotranspiration(PET) from 1962 to 2008 in the Jihe watershed in northwestern Loess Plateau of China using the Mann-Kendall test. The streamflow responses to climate change and LUCC were quantified independently by the elasticity method. The results show that the streamflow presented a dramatic decline with a turning point occurred in 1971, while the precipitation and PET did not change significantly. The results also show that the temperature rose markedly especially since 1990 s with an approximate increase of 1.74°C over the entire research period(1962–2008). Using land use transition matrix, we found that slope cropland was significantly converted to terrace between 1970 s and 1990 s and that forest cover increased relatively significantly because of the Grain for Green Project after 2000. The streamflow reduction was predominantly caused by LUCC and its contribution reached up to 90.2%, while the contribution of climate change to streamflow decline was only 9.8%. 6Research and application of methods for effectiveness evaluation of mine cooling system显示文摘Regarding the complexity and inconsistency of results in existing evaluation methods of mine cooling system, this paper clarifies the advantages, disadvantages and application of various mine cooling systems through principle analysis, and divides all the cooling systems into air-cooling, ice-cooling and water-cooling according to the transportation of cold energy. On this basis, the paper proposes a simple and efficient evaluation method for mine cooling system. The first index of this method is the air temperature at point C which is 15 m away from the return wind corner at working face. A cooling system will be judged ineligible if the air temperature at point C is above 30 °C during operation, because in this case, the combustible gases in coal will sharply overflow, inducing gas incidents. Based on the preliminary judgment of the first index, another two evaluation indexes are proposed based on the cooling ability and dehumidification of an airflow volume of 1000 m3/min at point C to evaluate the investment and operation cost of mine cooling system. 7SERK Receptor-like Kinases Control Division Patterns of Vascular Precursors and Ground Tissue Stem Cells during Embryo Development in Arabidopsis显示文摘During embryo development, the vascular precursors and ground tissue stem cells divide to renew them-selves and produce the vascular tissue, endodermal cells, and cortical cells. However, the molecular mech-anisms regulating division of these stem cells have remained largely elusive. In this study, we show that loss of function of SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS RECEPTOR-UKE KINASE (SERK) genes results in aberrant em-bryo development. Fewer cortical, endodermal, and vascular cells are generated in the embryos of serk1 serk2bak1 triple mutants. WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMBOBOX5 (WOXS) is ectopically expressed in vascular cells of serkl serk2 bak1 embryos. The first transverse division of vascular precursors in mid-globular em-bryos and second asymmetric division of ground tissue stem cells in early-heart embryos are abnormally altered to a longitudinal division. The embryo defects can be partially rescued by constitutively activated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase kinase YODA (YDA) and MAPK kinase MKK5. 8Structure, Optical Property and Thermal Stability of Copper Nitride Films Prepared by Reactive Radio Frequency Magnetron Sputtering显示文摘Copper nitride (Cu3N) films were prepared by reactive radio frequency magnetron sputtering at various nitrogen partial pressures, and the films were annealed at different temperatures. The crystal structure of the films was identified by X-ray diffraction technique. The Cu3N films have a cubic anti-ReO3 structure, and lattice constant is 0.3855 nm. With increasing nitrogen partial pressure, the Cu3N films are strongly textured with the crystal direction [100]. The atomic force microscope images show that the films presence a smooth and compact morphology with nanocrystallites of about 70 nm in size. The films were further characterized by UV-visible spectrometer, and the optical band gap of the films was calculated from the Tauc equation. The typical value of optical band gap of the films is about 1.75 eV, and it increases with increasing nitrogen partial pressure. 9Interaction between γ-TiAl alloy and zirconia显示文摘A study on the interaction between TiAl alloy and zirconia was carried out in argon atmosphere. Themicrographic observations of the cross-section perpendicular to the interface were obtained using a scanning electronmicroscope with a dedicated energy dispersive spectrometer (SEM/EDS). The results showed that firstly TiAl alloyspreads on the ceramic surface, and then infiltrates into the pores between ceramic particles accompanied by a chemicalreaction. The whole ceramic mold is broken into tiny blocks. 10A rapid and accurate direct measurement method of underground coal seam gas content based on dynamic diffusion theory显示文摘Coal seam gas content is frequently measured in quantity during underground coal mining operation and coalbed methane(CBM)exploration as a significant basic parameter.Due to the calculation error of lost gas and residual gas in the direct method,the efficiency and accuracy of the current methods are not inadequate to the large area multi-point measurement of coal seam gas content.This paper firstly deduces a simplified theoretical dynamic model for calculating lost gas based on gas dynamic diffusion theory.Secondly,the effects of various factors on gas dynamic diffusion from coal particle are experimentally studied.And sampling procedure of representative coal particle is improved.Thirdly,a new estimation method of residual gas content based on excess adsorption and competitive adsorption theory is proposed.The results showed that the maximum error of calculating the losing gas content by using the new simplified model is only 4%.Considering the influence of particle size on gas diffusion law,the particle size of the collected coal sample is below 0.25 mm,which improves the measurement speed and reflects the safety representativeness of the sample.The determination time of gas content reduced from 36 to 3 h/piece.Moreover,the absolute error is 0.15–0.50 m^3/t,and the relative error is within 5%.A new engineering method for determining the coal seam gas content is developed according to the above research.Yanwei Liu Yang Du Zhiqiang Li Fajun Zhao Weiqin Zuo Jianping Wei Hani Mitri 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6:6
11TCP7 functions redundantly with several Class Ⅰ TCPs and regulates endoreplication in Arabidopsis显示文摘TCP(TEOSINTE BRANCHED1/CYCLOIDEA/PROLIFERATING CELL FACTOR) proteins, a family of plantspecific transcription factors, play important roles in many developmental processes. However, genetic and functional redundancy among class I TCP limits the analysis of their biological roles. Here, we identified a dominantnegative mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana TCP7 named leaf curling-upward(lcu), which exhibits smaller leaf cells and shorter hypocotyls than the wild type, due to defective endoreplication. A septuple loss-of-function mutant of TCP7, TCP8, TCP14, TCP15, TCP21, TCP22, and TCP23 displayed similar developmental defects to those of lcu.Genome-wide RNA-sequencing showed that lcu and the septuple mutant share many misexpressed genes.Intriguingly, TCP7 directly targets the CYCLIN D1;1 (CYCD1;1) locus and activates its transcription. We determined that the C-terminus of TCP7 accounts for its transcriptional activation activity. Furthermore, the mutant protein LCU exhibited reduced transcriptional activation activity due to the introduction of an EAR-like repressive domain at its C-terminus. 12Heterogeneous memory enhanced graph reasoning network for cross-modal retrieval显示文摘Cross-modal retrieval(CMR) aims to retrieve the instances of a specific modality that are relevant to a given query from another modality, which has drawn much attention because of its importance in bridging vision with language. A key to the success of CMR is to learn more discriminative and robust representations for both visual and textual instances to further reduce the heterogeneous discrepancy existing in different modalities. In this paper, we address this challenging issue by proposing a heterogeneous memory enhanced graph reasoning network, named HMGR, to connect the semantic correlations between vision and language.On the one hand, we design a novel dual-path network architecture to generate relationship enhanced global representations by employing modality-specific graph reasoning on extracted local features for each instance.In this way, the topological interdependencies of both visual and textual intra-instance local fragments are fully mined to achieve a deeper semantic understanding of the relationships between them. On the other hand,we focus on utilizing inter-instance semantic correlated knowledge to enhance the discriminability of the final learned representations, which is achieved by introducing a joint heterogeneous memory network to iteratively restore both visual and textual instance-level information. Through interacting with long-term contextual multimodal knowledge, an encouraging shared latent feature space for mitigating the heterogeneous gap across different modalities can be learned. 13Spatial and temporal temperature variations in Xinjiang,China during 1961-2008显示文摘This study examines spatial and temporal changes in 16 extreme temperature indices at 37 weather stations in Xinjiang and their associations with changes in climate means during 1961-2008.Linear regression analyses reveal that significant increasing trends in temperature were observed over Xinjiang,with the rate of 0.13 °C/decade,0.24 °C/decade,and 0.52 °C/decade for annual mean temperature,annual maximum,and minimum temperature,respectively.Annual frequency of cool nights(days) has decreased by 2.45 days/decade(0.86 days/decade),whereas the frequency of warm nights(days) has increased by 4.85 days/decade(1.62 days/decade).Seasonally,the frequencies of summer warm nights and days are changing more rapidly than the corresponding frequencies for cool nights and days.However,normalization of the extreme and mean series shows that the rate of changes in extreme temperature events are generally less than those of mean temperatures,except for winter cold nights which are changing as rapidly as the winter mean minimum temperatures.These results indicate that there have been seasonally and diurnally asymmetric changes in extreme temperature events relative to recent increases in temperature means in Xinjiang.YanWei Zhang WenShou Wei FengQing Jiang MingZhe Liu WenWen Wang Lei Bai KaiFeng Li Rui Shao ZhiWen Dong 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,1:4
14Triple discriminator generative adversarial network for zero-shot image classification显示文摘One key challenge in zero-shot classification(ZSC)is the exploration of knowledge hidden in unseen classes.Generative methods such as generative adversarial networks(GANs)are typically employed to generate the visual information of unseen classes.However,the majority of these methods exploit global semantic features while neglecting the discriminative differences of local semantic features when synthesizing images,which may lead to sub-optimal results.In fact,local semantic information can provide more discriminative knowledge than global information can.To this end,this paper presents a new triple discriminator GAN for ZSC called TDGAN,which incorporates a text-reconstruction network into a dual discriminator GAN(D2GAN),allowing to realize cross-modal mapping from text descriptions to their visual representations.The text-reconstruction network focuses on key text descriptions for aligning semantic relationships to enable synthetic visual features to effectively represent images.Sharma-Mittal entropy is exploited in the loss function to make the distribution of synthetic classes be as close as possible to the distribution of real classes.The results of extensive experiments over the Caltech-UCSD Birds-2011 and North America Birds datasets demonstrate that the proposed TDGAN method consistently yields competitive performance compared to several state-of-the-art ZSC methods.Zhong JI Jiangtao YAN Qiang WANG Yanwei PANG Xuelong LI 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,2:4

17The formation and precipitation mechanism of two ordered patterns of embedded convection in stratiform cloud显示文摘Although convection embedded in stratiform cloud is often disordered, it is ordered under certain weather conditions. In particular, there are two forms of ordered convection: embedded convection with a ladder-like pattern and that with a parallel pattern. However, there is little literature regarding these patterns. Because stratiform clouds with embedded convection are major objects for weather-modification studies, it is important to explore the formation/development and characteristic precipitation of embedded convection from the perspective of cloud and precipitation physics. In this paper, using observation data, we simulate a large-scale precipitation event in China for July 19-21, 2007, employing the mesoscale Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model (V2.2). The rainfall-related clouds are analyzed through simulation, with particular focus being given to the genesis of embedded convection, the precipitation and microphysical properties. The results show that the WRF model can simulate features of this kind of nephsystem, indicating a close relationship between convection genesis and the 500 hPa trough and low-level convergence line. In such a favorable weather situation, there are two ordered patterns of embedded con- vection in the nephsystem, one being a group of convection centers arranged at different altitudes in a ladder-like manner and the other being a group of convection centers with a parallel pattern. In the first case, rainfall also has a ladder feature, with precipitation being highest for the top convection and reducing to the base convection. This implies that the higher the convection develops, the more active the microphysics in warmand cold-cloud processes is, leading to greater precipitation; i.e. rainfall in a ladder-like distribution. In the second case, rainfall decreases step by step from south to north, with the precipitation depending strongly on the cloud-water content therein. 18Deep learning for P-wave arrival picking in earthquake early warning显示文摘Fast and accurate P-wave arrival picking significantly affects the performance of earthquake early warning(EEW)systems.Automated P-wave picking algorithms used in EEW have encountered problems of falsely picking up noise,missing P-waves and inaccurate P-wave arrival estimation.To address these issues,an automatic algorithm based on the convolution neural network(DPick)was developed,and trained with a moderate number of data sets of 17,717 accelerograms.Compared to the widely used approach of the short-term average/long-term average of signal characteristic function(STA/LTA),DPick is 1.6 times less likely to detect noise as a P-wave,and 76 times less likely to miss P-waves.In terms of estimating P-wave arrival time,when the detection task is completed within 1 s,DPick′s detection occurrence is 7.4 times that of STA/LTA in the 0.05 s error band,and 1.6 times when the error band is 0.10 s.This verified that the proposed method has the potential for wide applications in EEW.Wang Yanwei Li Xiaojun Wang Zifa Shi Jianping Bao Enhe 2021Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2021,20,2:3

20RGF1-RGI1,a Peptide-Receptor Complex,Regulates Arabidopsis Root Meristem Development via a MAPK Signaling Cascade显示文摘Root growth is maintained by the continuous division of cells in the apical meristem.ROOT MERISTEM GROWTH FACTOR 1(RGF1)is a critical peptide hormone regulating root stem cell niche maintenance.Previous studies discovered that five closely related leucine-rich repeat receptor-like protein kinases(LRRRLKs),named RGF1 INSENSITIVES(RGIs)or RGF1 RECEPTORS(RGFRs),are able to perceive the RGF1 signal and redundantly control root stem cell niche maintenance.RGF1 regulates root meristem activity mainly via two downstream transcription factors,PLETHORA 1(PLT1)and PLT2.Regulatory proteins connecting cell surface RGF1-RGI1 and nuclear PLTs,however,were not identified.Here,we report that the mitogen-activated protein(MAP)kinase kinase 4(MKK4)and MAP kinase 3(MPK3)were coimmunoprecipitated with RGI1-FLAG after Arabidopsis seedlings were treated with RGF1.Genetic and biochemical assays confirmed that MKK4 and MKK5,and their downstream targets MPK3 and MPK6,are essential RG卜dependent regulators of root meristem development.In addition,we found that the MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 module functions downstream of YDA,a MAPKKK.Our results demonstrate that RGF1-RGI1 regulate the expression of PLT1/PLT2 via a YDA-MKK4/MKK5-MPK3/MPK6 signaling cascade.Xiaoting Lu Hongyong Shi Yang Ou Yanwei Cui Jinke Chang Liang Peng Xiaoping Gou Kai He Jia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,11:3
