1Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake:A blind reserve-fault event显示文摘In the epicenter of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake there are several imbricate active reverse faults lying from northwest to southeast,namely the Gengda-Longdong,Yanjing-Wulong,Shuangshi-Dachuan and Dayi faults.Emergency field investigations have indicated that no apparent earthquake surface rupture zones were located along these active faults or their adjacent areas.Only brittle compressive ruptures in the cement-covered pavements can be seen in Shuangshi,Taiping,Longxing and Longmen Townships,and these ruptures show that a local crustal shortening occurred in the region during the earthquake.Combining spatial distribution of the relocated aftershocks and focal mechanism solutions,it is inferred that the Lushan earthquake is classified as a typical blind reverse-fault earthquake,and it is advised that the relevant departments should pay great attention to other historically un-ruptured segments along the Longmenshan thrust belt and throughout its adjacent areas.XU XiWei WEN XueZe HAN ZhuJun CHEN GuiHua LI ChuanYou ZHENG WenJun ZHNAG ShiMin REN ZhiQun XU Chong TAN XiBin WEI ZhanYu WANG MingMing REN JunJie HE ZhongTai LIANG MingJian 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:35
2Development of a national VNIR soil-spectral library for soil classification and prediction of organic matter concentrations显示文摘Soil visible-near infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(vis-NIR DRS)has become an important area of research in the fields of remote and proximal soil sensing.The technique is considered to be particularly useful for acquiring data for soil digital mapping,precision agriculture and soil survey.In this study,1581 soil samples were collected from 14 provinces in China,including Tibet,Xinjiang,Heilongjiang,and Hainan.The samples represent 16 soil groups of the Genetic Soil Classification of China.After air-drying and sieving,the diffuse reflectance spectra of the samples were measured under laboratory conditions in the range between 350 and 2500 nm using a portable vis-NIR spectrometer.All the soil spectra were smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay method with first derivatives before performing multivariate data analyses.The spectra were compressed using principal components analysis and the fuzzy k-means method was used to calculate the optimal soil spectral classification.The scores of the principal component analyses were classified into five clusters that describe the mineral and organic composition of the soils.The results on the classification of the spectra are comparable to the results of other similar research.Spectroscopic predictions of soil organic matter concentrations used a combination of the soil spectral classification with multivariate calibration using partial least squares regression(PLSR).This combination significantly improved the predictions of soil organic matter(R2=0.899;RPD=3.158)compared with using PLSR alone(R2=0.697;RPD=1.817).SHI Zhou WANG QianLong PENG Jie JI WenJun LIU HuanJun LI Xi Raphael A VISCARRA ROSSEL 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,7:32
3Mineralization episode of porphyry copper deposits in the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt: Re-Os dating显示文摘Re-Os isotopic dating for the molybdenites from the porphyry copper deposits of the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt in Yunnan Province yields isochron ages of 33.9±1.1 Ma for the Machangqing deposit and 34.4±0.5 Ma for the Tongchang deposit. This result shows that both the Machangqing and the Tongchang porphyry Cu-Mo deposits from two different ore-fields formed simultaneously. This new data and the published Re-Os model ages of molybdenite (35.4 Ma, 35.9 Ma, 36.2 Ma) of the Yulong porphyry copper deposit in Tibet, which is located in the same Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt as the Machangqing deposit and the Tongchang deposit, suggest that these three Cenozoic porphyry copper deposits in the Jinshajiang-Red River mineralization belt were contemporary for their mineralization episode. 5A review of ecological restoration techniques in fluvial rivers显示文摘Rivers play an important role in people's living and agricultural production,however,intense human activities have broken the original ecological balance,and affected structures and functions of the river ecosystem.To restore the damaged river ecosystem back to a healthy status,effective ecological restoration measures need to be implemented.The main problems that the damaged rivers face are either the locally altered hydrological processes affected by construction of hydraulic facilities,or the deterioration of water quality resulted from pollution emissions,or both.In this study,ecological restoration techniques of the rivers affected by engineering control or pollution are reviewed respectively.In addition,three kinds of methods,i.e.physical,chemical and biological-ecological methods are introduced in details for the rivers affected by water pollution.At present,the development of river restoration techniques shows the following trends:1) the scale of ecological restoration is becoming larger;2) ecological restoration measures are required to meet multiple objectives;and 3) the management of water environment is changing from water quality management to aquatic ecosystem management.Baozhu Pan Jianping Yuan Xinhua Zhang Zhaoyin Wang Jiao Chen Jinyou Lu Wenjun Yang Zhiwei Li Na Zhao Mengzhen Xu 2016International Journal of Sediment Research2016,31,2:18

7Discovery and preliminary study of the high tungsten and lithium contents in the Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit, Guizhou, China显示文摘Bauxite in China remains an urgently needed resource largely dependent on imports. Based on the study of the newly-discovered Dazhuyuan bauxite deposit in northeastern Guizhou, we have found new enrichment of tungsten and lithium in bauxite, with the highest WO 3 content up to 0.33% and the highest Li 2 O content up to 0.58%. The present paper reports the initial result, and the spatial distribution feature of W and Li in the ore body (with Li enriched mostly in the north part of the west limb of the Liyuan syncline, whereas W enriched mostly in the central part of the east limb). 9Cardiac autonomic nerve fiber regeneration in chronic heart failure Do Akt gene-transduced mesenchymal stem cells promote repair?显示文摘BACKGROUND: Transplantation of Akt-over-expressing mesenchymal stem cells (Akt-MSCs) has been shown to repair infarcted myocardium and improve cardiac function. However, little is known about the therapeutic effects of Akt-MSCs on cardiac autonomic neuropathy in chronic heart failure (CHF). OBJECTIVE: The present study used adriamycin-induced CHF rat models to observe the effect of Akt-MSCs on cardiac autonomic nervous regeneration and the factors mediating this effect. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled animal experiment was performed at the Central Laboratory of Basic Medical College, China Medical University, between September 2008 and April 2009. MATERIALS: Rabbit anti-choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), growth associated protein-43 (GAP-43), synaptophysin (SYN) polyclonal antibodies and the secondary antibody (goat anti-rabbit IgG) were purchased from Boster, China. Cat-A-Kit assay system was provided by Amersham, USA. METHODS: (1) Adult rat MSCs were isolated and cultured for the preparation of Akt-MSCs. (2) Forty male Wistar rats were intramyocardially administered adriamycin at 2 mg/kg over 3 days for a total of five times and once a week for additional five times thereafter to establish CHF models. At 2 weeks after final adriamycin treatment, 34 successful CHF rat models were randomized to three groups: Akt-MSCs (n = 11), simple MSCs (s-MSCs, n =11), and control (n = 12). Each group was intravenously administered Akt-MSCs (2×106 cells in 100 μL PBS), s-MSCs (2×106 cells in 100 μL PBS) or equal volume of phosphate buffered saline, once a day for a total of three times. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 4 weeks after final adriamycin treatment, myocardial norepi- nephrine (NE) content was detected using a Cat-A-Kit assay system. Myocardial ChAT, SYN and GAP-43 were performed by immunohistochemistry and Western blot analysis. Prior to, 2 and 4 weeks after adriamycin treatment, echocardiographic examination was performed and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was determined. RESULTS: Myocardial NE content, as well as SYN-positive and GAP-43-positive nerve fiber density and expression, and LVEF, was the greatest in the Akt-MSCs group, followed by the s-MSCs group, and lastly the control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). ChAT expression was similar between Akt-MSCs and s-MSCs groups, but it was higher compared with the control group (P < 0.05). NE contents were negatively correlated to LVEF (r = -0.64, P = 0.015). 10Geodynamic Background of Intracontinental Cenozoic Alkaline Volcanic Rocks in Laojiezi, Western Yangtze Craton: Constraints from Sr-Nd-Hf-O Isotopes显示文摘The Laojiezi alkaline volcanic rocks, which are located in the intraplate region of the Yangtze craton, coincide with the formation of the Jinshajiang-Ailaoshan-Red River alkaline rock belt. Although this belt has been widely studied by geologists because of its porphyry-related Pb-Ag-Au polymetallic deposit and geotectonic location, the material sources of this belt are still debate. Whole-rock analyses show that these rocks have high total alkali contents(3.73–11.08 wt%), and their aluminum saturation index(ASI) values widely vary from 0.82 to 3.07, which comprise a metaluminous-peraluminous magma series. These rocks are characterized by high K(K2 O/Na2 O>1) and low Ti and Mg contents; enrichment in large-ion lithophile elements, such as Rb, Ba, K and light rare earth elements; and depletion in high field strength elements, such as Ta, Nb, P, and Ti. These rocks exhibit moderate Eu(Eu/Eu*=0.86–1.04) and Ce(Ce/Ce*=0.63–0.96) anomalies. Their(87 Sr/86 Sr)i, εNd(t), zircon εHf(t) and δ18 O values range from 0.70839 to 0.71013, from-10.16 to-12.45, from-19.6 to-5.8, and from 5.69‰ to 8.54‰, respectively, and their Nd and Hf two-stage model ages(TDM2) are 1.67–1.86 Ga and 1.27–2.02 Ga, respectively. These data reflect the primary partial melting of Paleoproterozoic to Mesoproterozoic lower crust with minor residual continental lithospheric mantle and supracrustal metasediments. The lithosphere was likely thickened along the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau following the Indian-Asian continentcontinent collision(65–41 Ma). During the post-collision phase(36–16 Ma), the transition from a compressional to extensional setting triggered the convective removal of the over-thickened CLM beneath the Yangtze craton, which led to the upwelling of asthenospheric materials. This process created alkali-rich and high-K magma through the partial melting of the thickened lower crust. 12Transcriptional analysis and histochemistry reveal that hypersensitive cell death and H2O2 have crucial roles in the resistance of tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) to anthracnose显示文摘Anthracnose causes severe losses of tea production in China.Although genes and biological processes involved in anthracnose resistance have been reported in other plants,the molecular response to anthracnose in tea plant is unknown.We used the susceptible tea cultivar Longjing 43 and the resistant cultivar Zhongcha 108 as materials and compared transcriptome changes in the leaves of both cultivars following Colletotrichum fructicola inoculation.In all,9015 and 8624 genes were differentially expressed between the resistant and susceptible cultivars and their controls(0 h),respectively.In both cultivars,the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were enriched in 215 pathways,including responses to sugar metabolism,phytohormones,reactive oxygen species(ROS),biotic stimuli and signalling,transmembrane transporter activity,protease activity and signalling receptor activity,but DEG expression levels were higher in Zhongcha 108 than in Longjing 43.Moreover,functional enrichment analysis of the DEGs showed that hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)metabolism,cell death,secondary metabolism,and carbohydrate metabolism are involved in the defence of Zhongcha 108,and 88 key genes were identified.Protein–protein interaction(PPI)network demonstrated that putative mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)cascades are activated by resistance(R)genes and mediate downstream defence responses.Histochemical analysis subsequently validated the strong hypersensitive response(HR)and H2O2 accumulation that occurred around the hyphal infection sites in Zhongcha 108.Overall,our results indicate that the HR and H2O2 are critical mechanisms in tea plant defence against anthracnose and may be activated by R genes via MAPK cascades.Yuchun Wang Xinyuan Hao Qinhua Lu Lu Wang Wenjun Qian Nana Li Changqing Ding Xinchao Wang Yajun Yang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:11
13Salusins protect myocardium against ischemic injury by alleviating endoplasmic reticulum stress显示文摘Salusins are regulatory peptides that affect cardiovascular function. We previously reported that salusin-α and -β protected cultured cardiomyocytes from serum deprivation-induced cell death through upregulating glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) resident protein whose overexpression acts as a marker and suppressor of ER stress. The present study examined whether salusin-α and -β inhibit ER stress in ischemic myocardium. In a rat model of myocardial infarction created by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD), salusin-α or -β was intravenously injected at 5 or 15 nmol kg 1 15 min prior to 2 h of LAD occlusion. The high dose of salusin-α and -β significantly improved heart function and hemodynamics in LAD-occluded rats, but had no effects in sham-operated rats. The arrhythmias caused by LAD occlusion were markedly attenuated by salusin-α and -β. The apoptotic rate in ischemic myocardium was reduced from 31.5%±3.7% to 19.8%±2.2% and 12.3%±2.2%, and the infarct size was reduced from 53.4%±4.0% of the risk area to 26.5%±9.7% and 23.7%±8.9% by 15 nmol kg 1 salusin-α and -β, respectively. Furthermore, salusin-α and -β prevented the activation of GRP78 and ER stress-specific apoptotic effectors caspase-12 and CHOP (C/EBP homologous protein), and attenuated the reduction of an ER stress-associated antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2 in ischemic cardiac tissue. The salusins also inhibited the ER stress induced by tunicamycin in cultured rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes. 16A study of phosphate adsorption by different temperature treated hydrous cerium oxides显示文摘An alkaline precipitation method was introduced to produce hydrous cerium oxides.The prepared powder was characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) nitrogen adsorption-desorption,X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrometry,and thermal gravimetry(TG) approaches.The adsorbent has a chemical formula of CeO2·nH2O(n < 2) and a cubic fluorite-type structure after high temperature treatment.Adsorption capacity of different temperature treated hydrous cerium oxides does not directly correlate with BET specific surface area.Phosphate adsorption isotherms follow the Langmuir equation below the treatment temperature of 800°C.Phosphate adsorption causes no change on the structure of a hydrous cerium oxides,and no signs of CePO4 precipitates are found.The ion-exchanging structure of hydrous cerium oxide plays a fundamental role in phosphate adsorption.The structure is highly temperature resistant and forms adsorption sites which adsorb both water and some anions.Complete loss of adsorption ability cannot be achieved unless the treatment temperature is higher than 1200°C.Mechanism study shows that the adsorption of phosphates is mainly an anion-exchange process.GUO Huichao LI Wenjun WANG Huanying ZHANG Jinghua LIU Yang ZHOU Yue 2011Rare Metals2011,30,1:10
17Preparation,characterization of Mo,Ag-loaded BiVO_4 and comparison of their degradation of methylene blue显示文摘Two types of metal-loaded visible-light-driven photocatalysts,Mo-BiVO4and Ag-BiVO4,were synthesized by wet impregnation method.Material poperties were characterized by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,field emission scanning electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and low temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption.Photocatalytic activity of the obtained materials was investigated through degrading methylene blue(MB) solution under visible-light irradiation.The results reveal that both metal loaded-BiVO4catalysts have monoclinic scheelite structure.Mo and Ag exist as oxides on the surface of the particles.The changes of absorption in visible-light region,band gap(E g) and specific surface area(A BET) caused by loading Ag are more obvious than those caused by loading Mo.But the isoelectric point of Ag-BiVO4decreases less than that of Mo-BiVO4does.Both catalysts show higher photocatalytic activity than pure BiVO4,resulting in the significantly improved efficiency of degradation of MB.And the degradation efficiency of these two metal-loaded BiVO4photocatalysts is similar to each other.However,mechanisms of such enhancement are different.The decrease of isoelectric point helps Mo-BiVO4improve the degradation efficiency.As for Ag-BiVO4,the augmentation of absorption in visible-light region as well as the abatement of E g plays more important roles.LIU KunJie CHANG ZhiDong LI WenJun CHE Ping ZHOU HuaLei 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:10

19Early evaluation of growth traits of Larix kaempferi clones显示文摘Early selection is an important method to shorten the breeding cycle for tree species, which may differ in the time for early selection.To evaluate the early selected time for Larix kaempferi, tree height and diameter at breast height of 57 L.kaempferi clones were measured over many different growth years.The results indicated that, except for age × clone interaction for diameter at breast height(P = 0.741), there were significant differences among all variation sources(P < 0.01).The coefficient of phenotypic variation ranged from 14.89 to 35.65%for height and from 19.17 to 23.86% for diameter at breast height in different growth years.The repeatability of height and of diameter at breast height among clones was high,ranging from 0.6181 to 0.8531(height) and from 0.8443 to0.8497(diameter at breast height), in different growth years.There were significant positive correlations between all pairs of growth traits except between height in the 2 nd growth year and height in the 30 th growth year; and between height in the 2 nd growth year × diameter at breast height in the 30 th growth year.With a comprehensive evaluation method and a selection ratio of 10%, L65,L1, L62, L9, L15, and L78 were selected as excellent clones in the 30 th growth year.Their average values of height and diameter at breast height were 9.81 and 16.57%higher than the overall average, representing genetic gains of 6.46 and 13.99%, respectively.This study provides a theoretical foundation for the genetic improvement of L.kaempferi.Yanyan Pan Shuchun Li Chenglu Wang Wenjun Ma Guiyou Xu Lili Shao Kailong Li Xiyang Zhao Tingbo Jiang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:10
20Horizontal crustal movement before the great Wenchuan earthquake obtained from GPS observations in the regional network显示文摘The great Wenchuan earthquake of M8.0 on May 12,2008,occurred in an area with dense GPS observation stations in the regional network of the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China(CMONOC).Non-continuous observations were carried out at the 1 000 GPS stations of the regional network in 1999,2001,2004 and 2007.The horizontal displacements at GPS stations in the regional network before the Wenchuan earthquake show that the main driving tectonic force of the earthquake was the northward pushing of the Indian plate,added at the same time by the pushing of plates on the east and south.In comparison to the displacements in other regions,the horizontal displacements near and around the seismic area is characterized by diverging eastward displacements,that is,the stations to the north of the epicenter moved in the ENE direction while those to the south of epicenter moved in ESE direction with smaller displacements at stations near the epicenter.The accuracy of the estimated strain results is briefly discussed.In order to obtain the anomalous information before the earthquake,the methods of both best fits by trend surface and statistics have been used in the study for finding the future epicentral area from the strain accumulations in the regional network observed from 1999 to 2007 before the Wenchuan earthquake.Besides the epicentral area of the western Kunlun mountain pass earthquake of M8.1 in 2001,the results of best fits by trend surfaces of the strain accumulations from 1999 to 2007 in the regional network show that the Wenchuan earthquake occurred at the eastern fringe of a large area with relatively large accumulations of the first shear strains and also at the northeastern fringe of a smaller area with significant accumulated areal compressions.The statistics of the accumulations of the strain components demonstrates that they also showed anomalous distribution patterns in this area and its neighborhood with increasing accumulations of both shear strains and areal compressions.Guohua Gu Wuxing Wang Yueren Xu Wenjun Li 2009Earthquake Science2009,22,5:9
