| 1 | Effect of Mesoscale Land Use Change on Characteristics of Convective Boundary Layer:Semi-Idealized Large Eddy Simulations over Northwest China显示文摘Although large-scale topography and land use have been properly considered in weather and climate models, the effect of mesoscale and microscale heterogeneous land use on convective boundary layer(CBL) has not been fully understood yet. In this study, the influence of semi-idealized strip-like patches of oases and deserts, which resemble irrigated land use in Northwest China, on the CBL characteristics, is investigated based on the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)-large eddy simulation(LES) driven by observed land surface data. The influences of soil water content in oases on aloft CBL flow structure, stability, turbulent kinetic energy(TKE), and vertical fluxes are carefully examined through a group of sensitivity experiments. The results show that secondary circulation(SC)/turbulent organized structures(TOS) is the strongest/weakest when soil water content in oases is close to saturation(e.g.,when the oases are irrigated). With the decrease of soil water content in oases(i.e., after irrigation), SC(TOS) becomes weak(strong) in the lower and middle CBL, the flux induced by SC and TOS becomes small(large), which has a dramatic impact on point measurement of eddy covariance(EC) fluxes. The flux induced by SC and TOS has little influence on EC sensible heat flux, but great influence on EC latent heat flux. Under this circumstance, the area averaged heat flux cannot be represented by point measurement of flux by the EC method, especially just after irrigation in oases. Comparison of imbalance ratio(i.e., contribution of SC and TOS to the total flux) reveals that increased soil moisture in oases leads to a larger imbalance ratio as well as enhanced surface heterogeneity. | 2 | Radiation induced graft polymerization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes for superhydrophobic composite membrane preparation显示文摘Highly soluble multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs) were prepared by radiation-induced free radical graft polymerization of vinyl acetate(VAc) onto pristine MWNT surfaces. High resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM), Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, and micro-Raman spectroscopy were used to confirm that poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc) had been successfully grafted onto the surface of the MWNTs. The effects of experimental parameters on the degree of grafting(DG) of PVAc were also investigated, including adsorbed dose, dose rate, initial monomer concentration, and solvents. The grafted MWNTs(MWNTs-g-PVAc) exhibited good solubility in common organic solvents at high mass fraction. | 3 | High-selective removal of ultra-low level mercury ions from aqueous solution using oligothymonucleic acid functionalized polyethylene film显示文摘We prepare oligothymonucleic acid (OTA) functionalized polyethylene (PE) film and evaluate its selective removal ability of mercury ions at ultra-low levels in aqueous solution. The selective binding of OTA with mercury ions is confirmed by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). In order to fully understand our DR experimental setup and especially the electronenergy detuning system, we have performed a DR calibration experiment using the Li-like argon ions at theCSRm. The Ar15+ has a simple electronic structure so the DR spectrum can be calculated with an ultra-highprecision and compared with the existing experimental data. | 18 | Preparation and supercapacitor performance of assembled graphene fiber and foam显示文摘Graphene-based materials have been full of vigor and tremendous potentiality for application in supercapacitors due to its variety of unique properties such as electronic properties, simple synthesis, etc.In developing new macroscopic nanostructured graphene materials for supercapacitors, considerable efforts have been made by the scientist including our research group. In this account, we describe our development of the construction of the assembled graphene especially fiber and foam, which have great potential in addressing the challenges in the synthesis of graphene-based electrode materials for supercapacitors. As the supercapacitors are reviewed in this article, they are accordant with the rapid development of flexible, lightweight, and wearable-electronic devices, overcoming the major some drawbacks of conventional bulk supercapacitors.
