A Review on Rill Erosion Process and Its Influencing Factors显示文摘Rills are frequently observed on slope farmlands and rill erosion significantly contributes to sediment yields. This paper focuses on reviewing the various factors affecting rill erosion processes and the threshold conditions of rill initiation. Six factors, including rainfall, runoff, soil, topography, vegetation and tillage system, are discussed. Rill initiation and network are explored. Runoff erosivity and soil erodibility are recognized as two direct factors affecting rill erosion and other types of factors may have indirect influences on rill erosion through increasing or decreasing the effects of the direct factors. Certain conditions are necessary for rill initiation and the critical conditions are different with different factors. Future studies should be focused on 1) the dynamic changes of rill networks; 2) the combined effect of multiple factors; and 3) the relationships of threshold values with other related factors. | SUN Liying FANG Haiyan QI Deli LI Junlan CAI Qiangguo | 2013 | Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,4: | 11
Micro/nano-structured TiO2 surface with dual-functional antibacterial effects for biomedical applications显示文摘Implant-associated infections are generally difficult to cure owing to the bacterial antibiotic resistance which is attributed to the widespread usage of antibiotics.Given the global threat and increasing influence of antibiotic resistance, there is an urgent demand to explore novel antibacterial strategies other than using antibiotics.Recently, using a certain surface topography to provide a more persistent antibacterial solution attracts more and more attention. However, the clinical application of biomimetic nano-pillar array is not satisfactory, mainly because its antibacterial ability against Gram-positive strain is not good enough. Thus, the pillar array should be equipped with other antibacterial agents to fulfill the bacteriostatic and bactericidal requirements of clinical application. Here,we designed a novel model substrate which was a combination of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and TiO2 for basically understanding the topographical bacteriostatic effects of periodic micro/nano-pillar array and the photocatalytic bactericidal activity of TiO2.Such innovation may potentially exert the synergistic effects by integrating the persistent topographical antibacterial activity and the non-invasive X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections.First,to separately verify the topographical antibacterial activity of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array,we systematically investigated its effects on bacterial adhesion, growth, proliferation, and viability in the dark without involving the photocatalysis of TiO2.The pillar array with sub-micron motif size can significantly inhibit the adhesion, growth, and proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli).Such antibacterial ability is mainly attributed to a spatial confinement size-effect and limited contact area availability generated by the special topography of pillar array. Moreover, the pillar array is not lethal to S.aureus and E.coli in 24 h.Then, the X-ray induced photocatalytic antibacterial property of TiO2 periodic micro/nano-pillar array in vitro and in vivo will be systematically studied in a future work. This study could shed light on the direction of surface topography design for future medical implants to combat against antibiotic-resistant implant-associated infections without using antibiotics. | Xiang Ge Chengzu Ren Yonghui Ding Guang Chen Xiong Lu Kefeng Wang Fuzeng Ren Meng Yang Zhuochen Wang Junlan Li Xinxin An Bao Qian Yang Leng | 2019 | Bioactive Materials2019,4,1: | 8

Multicenter phaseⅡstudy of apatinib single or combination therapy in HER2-negative breast cancer involving chest wall metastasis显示文摘Objective:Breast cancer(BC)with chest wall metastasis(CWM)usually shows rich neovascularization. This trial explored the clinical effect of apatinib on human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-negative advanced BC involving CWM.Methods:This trial involved four centers in China and was conducted from September 2016 to March 2020.Patients received apatinib 500 mg/d[either alone or with endocrine therapy if hormone receptor-positive(HR+)]until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.Progression-free survival(PFS)was the primary endpoint. Results:We evaluated 26 patients for efficacy. The median PFS(mPFS)and median overall survival(mOS)were4.9[range:2.0-28.5;95%confidence interval(95%CI):2.1-8.3]months and 18(range:3-55;95%CI:12.9-23.1)months,respectively.The objective response rate(ORR)was 42.3%(11/26),and the disease-control rate was76.9%(20/26).In the subgroup analysis,HR+patients compared with HR-negative patients had significantly improved mPFS of 7.0(95%CI:2.2-11.8)months vs.2.3(95%CI:1.2-3.4)months,respectively(P=0.001);and mPFS in patients without or with chest wall radiotherapy was 6.4(95%CI:1.6-19.5)months vs.3.0(95%CI:1.3-4.6)months,respectively(P=0.041).In the multivariate analysis,HR+status was the only independent predictive factor for favorable PFS(P=0.014).Conclusions:Apatinib was highly effective for BC patients with CWM,especially when combined with endocrine therapy.PFS improved significantly in patients with HR+status who did not receive chest wall radiotherapy. However, adverse events were serious and should be carefully monitored from the beginning of apatinib treatment. | Huiping Li Cuizhi Geng Hongmei Zhao Hanfang Jiang Guohong Song Jiayang Zhang Yaxin Liu Xinyu Gui Jing Wang Kun Li Zhongsheng Tong Fangyuan Zhao Junlan Yang Guoliang Chen Qianyu Liu Xu Liang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2: | 4
The clinical and genetic characteristics in children with mitochondrial disease in China显示文摘Mitochondrial disease was a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of diseases, thus the diagnosis was very difficult to clinicians. Our objective was to analyze clinical and genetic characteristics of children with mitochondrial disease in China. We tested 141 candidate patients who have been suspected of mitochondrial disorders by using targeted next-generation sequencing(NGS), and summarized the clinical and genetic data of gene confirmed cases from Neurology Department, Beijing Children's Hospital, Capital Medical University from October 2012 to January 2015. In our study, 40 cases of gene confirmed mitochondrial disease including eight kinds of mitochondrial disease, among which Leigh syndrome was identified to be the most common type, followed by mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes(MELAS). The age-of-onset varies among mitochondrial disease, but early onset was common. All of 40 cases were gene confirmed, among which 25 cases(62.5%)with mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) mutation, and 15 cases(37.5%) with nuclear DNA(nDNA) mutation. M.3243A>G(n=7)accounts for a large proportion of mtDNA mutation. The nDNA mutations include SURF1(n=7),PDHA1(n=2),and NDUFV1,NDUFAF6, SUCLA2, SUCLG1, RRM2 B, and C12orf65, respectively. | Fang Fang Zhimei Liu Hezhi Fang Jian Wu Danmin Shen Suzhen Sun Changhong Ding Tongli Han Yun Wu Junlan Lv Lei Yang Shufang Li Jianxin Lv Ying Shen | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,7: | 2

Inhibition of aberrant Hif1αactivation delays intervertebral disc degeneration in adult mice显示文摘The intervertebral disc(IVD) is the largest avascular tissue. Hypoxia-inducible factors(HIFs) play essential roles in regulating cellular adaptation in the IVD under physiological conditions. Disc degeneration disease(DDD) is one of the leading causes of disability, and current therapies are ineffective. This study sought to explore the role of HIFs in DDD pathogenesis in mice. The findings of this study showed that among HIF family members, Hif1α was significantly upregulated in cartilaginous endplate(EP) and annulus fibrosus(AF) tissues from human DDD patients and two mouse models of DDD compared with controls. Conditional deletion of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Vhl in EP and AF tissues of adult mice resulted in upregulated Hif1α expression and age-dependent IVD degeneration. Aberrant Hif1α activation enhanced glycolytic metabolism and suppressed mitochondrial function. On the other hand, genetic ablation of the Hif1α gene delayed DDD pathogenesis in Vhl-deficient mice. Administration of 2-methoxyestradiol(2ME2), a selective Hif1α inhibitor, attenuated experimental IVD degeneration in mice. The findings of this study show that aberrant Hif1α activation in EP and AF tissues induces pathological changes in DDD, implying that inhibition of aberrant Hif1α activity is a potential therapeutic strategy for DDD. | Zuqiang Wang Hangang Chen Qiaoyan Tan Junlan Huang Siru Zhou Fengtao Luo Dali Zhang Jing Yang Can Li Bo Chen Xianding Sun Liang Kuang Wanling Jiang Zhenhong Ni Quan Wang Shuai Chen Xiaolan Du Di Chen Chuxia Deng Liangjun Yin Lin Chen Yangli Xie | 2022 | Bone Research2022,10,1: | 1
