2Pain and chronic pancreatitis: A complex interplay of multiple mechanisms显示文摘Despite multiple theories on the pathogenesis of pain in chronic pancreatitis,no uniform and consistently successful treatment strategy exists and abdominal pain still remains the dominating symptom for most patients and a major challenge for clinicians.Traditional theories focussed on a mechanical cause of pain related to anatomical changes and evidence of increased ductal and interstitial pressures.These observations form the basis for surgical and endoscopic drainage procedures,but the outcome is variable and often unsatisfactory.This underscores the fact that other factors must contribute to pathogenesis of pain,and has shifted the focus towards a more complex neurobiological understanding of pain generation.Amongst other explanations for pain,experimental and human studies have provided evidence that pain perception at the peripheral level and central pain processing of the nociceptive information is altered in patients with chronic pancreatitis,and resembles that seen in neuropathic and chronic pain disorders.However,pain due to e.g.,complications to the disease and adverse effects to treatment must not be overlooked as an additional source of pain.This review outlines the current theories on pain generation in chronic pancreatitis which is crucial in order to understand the complexity and limitations of current therapeutic approaches.Furthermore,it may also serve as an inspiration for further research and development of methods that can evaluate the relative contribution and interplay of different pain mechanisms in the individual patients,before they are subjected to more or less empirical treatment.Jakob Lykke Poulsen Sφren Schou Olesen Lasse Paludan Malver Jens Brφndum Frφkjr Asbjφrn Mohr Drewes 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,42:5
3Numerical and Experimental Modelling of Gas Flow and Heat Transfer in the Air Gap of an Electric Machine. Part II: Grooved Surfaces显示文摘The study deals with the cooling of a high-speed electric machine through an air gap with numerical and experimental methods. The rotation speed of the test machine is between 5000-4000 r/rain and the machine is cooled by a forced gas flow through the air gap. In the previous part of the research the friction coefficient was measured for smooth and grooved stator cases with a smooth rotor. The heat transfer coefficient was recently calculated by a numerical method and measured for a smooth stator-rotor combination. In this report the cases with axial groove slots at the stator and/or rotor surfaces are studied. Numerical flow simulations and measurements have been done for the test machine dimensions at a large velocity range. At constant mass flow rate the heat transfer coefficients by the numerical method attain bigger values with groove slots on the stator or rotor surfaces. The results by the numerical method have been confirmed with measurements. 4Growing vertical aligned mesoporous silica thin film on nanoporous substrate for enhanced degradation,drug delivery and bioactivity显示文摘Mesoporous silica thin film has been widely used in various fields,particularly the medical implant coating for drug delivery.However,some drawbacks remain with the films produced by traditional method(evaporation-induced self-assembly,EISA),such as the poor permeability caused by their horizontal aligned mesochannels.In this study,the vertical aligned mesoporous silica thin film(VMSTF)is uniformly grown alongside the walls of titania nanotubes array via a biphase stratification growth method,resulting in a hierarchical two-layered nanotubular structure.Due to the exposure of opened mesopores,VMSTF exhibits more appealing performances,including rapid degradation,efficient small-molecular drug(dexamethasone)loading and release,enhanced early adhesion and osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells.This is the first time successfully depositing VMSTF on nanoporous substrate and our findings suggest that the VMSTF may be a promising candidate for bone implant surface coating to obtain bioactive performances.Zhe Li Yide He Lasse Hyldgaard Klausen Ning Yan Jing Liu Fanghao Chen Wen Song Mingdong Dong Yumei Zhang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,5:4
5CRISPy-web: An online resource to design sgRNAs for CRISPR applications显示文摘CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing has been one of the major achievements of molecular biology,allowing the targeted engineering of a wide range of genomes.The system originally evolved in prokaryotes as an adaptive immune system against bacteriophage infections.It now sees widespread application in genome engineering workflows,especially using the Streptococcus pyogenes endonuclease Cas9.To utilize Cas9,so-called single guide RNAs(sgRNAs)need to be designed for each target gene.While there are many tools available to design sgRNAs for the popular model organisms,only few tools that allow designing sgRNAs for non-model organisms exist.Here,we present CRISPy-web(http://gffzz2b22c00a04674870hcopxppq6oq9c6vop.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/),an easy to use web tool based on CRISPy to design sgRNAs for any userprovided microbial genome.CRISPy-web allows researchers to interactively select a region of their genome of interest to scan for possible sgRNAs.After checks for potential off-target matches,the resulting sgRNA sequences are displayed graphically and can be exported to text files.All steps and information are accessible from a web browser without the requirement to install and use command line scripts.Kai Blin Lasse Ebdrup Pedersen TilmannWeber Sang Yup Lee 2016Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2016,1,2:3
