| 7 | Serum Uric Acid is Associated with the Predicted Risk of Prevalent Cardiovascular Disease in a Community-dwelling Population without Diabetes显示文摘Objective To examine the association between serum uric acid levels and cardiovascular disease risk among individuals without diabetes. Methods We investigated the association between serum uric acid levels and the risk of prevalent cardiometabolic diseases, 10-year Framingham risk for coronary heart disease, and 10-year risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases(ASCVD) among 8,252 participants aged ≥ 40 years without diabetes from Jiading district, Shanghai, China. Results Body mass index, waist circumference, blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, blood pressure, and serum lipids increased progressively across the sex-specific quartiles of uric acid(all P trend < 0.05). Compared with individuals in the lowest quartile, those in the higher quartiles had a significantly higher prevalence of obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia(all P trend < 0.05). A fully adjusted logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals in the highest quartile had an increased risk of predicted cardiovascular disease compared with those in the lowest quartile of uric acid. The multivariate adjusted odds ratios(ORs) [95% confidence intervals(CIs)] for the highest quartiles for high Framingham risk were 3.00(2.00-4.50) in men and 2.95(1.08-8.43) in women. The multivariate adjusted ORs(95% CIs) for the highest quartile for high ASCVD risk were 1.93(1.17-3.17) in men and 4.53(2.57-7.98) in women. | 8 | Polydatin prevents the induction of secondary brain injury after traumatic brain injury by protecting neuronal mitochondria显示文摘Polydatin is thought to protect mitochondria in different cell types in various diseases.Mitochondrial dysfunction is a major contributing factor in secondary brain injury resulting from traumatic brain injury.To investigate the protective effect of polydatin after traumatic brain injury,a rat brain injury model of lateral fluid percussion was established to mimic traumatic brain injury insults.Rat models were intraperitoneally injected with polydatin(30 mg/kg)or the SIRT1 activator SRT1720(20 mg/kg,as a positive control to polydatin).At 6 hours post-traumatic brain injury insults,western blot assay was used to detect the expression of SIRT1,endoplasmic reticulum stress related proteins and p38 phosphorylation in cerebral cortex on the injured side.Flow cytometry was used to analyze neuronal mitochondrial superoxide,mitochondrial membrane potential and mitochondrial permeability transition pore opened.Ultrastructural damage in neuronal mitochondria was measured by transmission electron microscopy.Our results showed that after treatment with polydatin,release of reactive oxygen species in neuronal mitochondria was markedly reduced;swelling of mitochondria was alleviated;mitochondrial membrane potential was maintained;mitochondrial permeability transition pore opened.Also endoplasmic reticulum stress related proteins were inhibited,including the activation of p-PERK,spliced XBP-1 and cleaved ATF6.SIRT1 expression and activity were increased;p38 phosphorylation and cleaved caspase-9/3 activation were inhibited.Neurological scores of treated rats were increased and the mortality was reduced compared with the rats only subjected to traumatic brain injury.These results indicated that polydatin protectrd rats from the consequences of traumatic brain injury and exerted a protective effect on neuronal mitochondria.The mechanisms may be linked to increased SIRT1 expression and activity,which inhibits the p38 phosphorylation-mediated mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.This study was approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of the Southern Medical University,China(approval number:L2016113)on January 1,2016. | Li Li Hong-Ping Tan Cheng-Yong Liu Lin-Tao Yu Da-Nian Wei Zi-Chen Zhang Kui Lu Ke-Sen Zhao Marc Maegele Dao-Zhang Cai Zheng-Tao Gu | 2019 | Neural Regeneration Research2019,14,9: | 12 |
| 9 | The Cambrian sedimentary characteristics and their implications for oil and gas exploration in north margin of Middle-Upper Yangtze Plate显示文摘Using data from tens of measured and observed outcrop successions,thin rock slices and sample analyses,we comprehensively studied the Cambrian sedimentary environments and evolutionary characteristics in the north margin of the Middle-Upper Yangtze Plate.During the Cambrian,platform,slope,and deep sea basin environments were developed in the study area.On the platform,both clastic rocks and carbonate rocks were deposited.Clastic rocks mainly occur in the Lower Cambrian,and were deposited in marine shore and shelf environments.Carbonate rocks are dominant in the Middle and Upper Cambrian,and were deposited in the open platform,restricted platform,tidal flat,beach,and reef environments.Carbonate gravity flow deposits were developed on the slope.In the basin,mainly black shales and chert beds were deposited.The Cambrian represents one large transgression-regression cycle,and maximum transgression occurred in the Qiongzhusi Age of the Early Cambrian.Tectonics and sea level fluctuations had important impacts on sedimentary environments.The Chengkou-Fangxian-Xiangfan Fracture controlled the position of the platform,slope and basin,as well as the silica supply for chert deposition in basin.Sea level fluctuations controlled types of sediments and sedimentary facies on the platform.In the study area,there are good reservoir rocks,including dolomites,grainstones,debris flow deposits,sandstones,and conglomerates;there are good source rocks,including black shales,dark micrites,and chert beds;and there are also good reservoir-source rock assemblages.The hydrocarbon potential of the study area is great. | YU KuanHong JIN ZhenKui SU Kui DONG XiaoDong ZHANG Wei DU HongYu CHEN Ying ZHANG WeiDan | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,6: | 9 |

| 13 | Effects of small interfering RNA inhibit Class Ⅰ phosphoinositide 3-kinase on human gastric cancer cells显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effects of small interfering RNA(siRNA)-mediated inhibition of Class Ⅰ phosphoinositide 3-kinase(Class Ⅰ PI3K) signal transduction on the proliferation,apoptosis,and autophagy of gastric cancer SGC7901 and MGC803 cells.METHODS:We constructed the recombinant replication adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNA interference(RNAi)-green fluorescent protein(GFP) and control adenovirus NCRNAi-GFP,and infected it into human gastric cancer cells.MTT assay was used to determine the growth rate of the gastric cancer cells.Activation of autophagy was monitored with monodansylcadaverine(MDC) staining after adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP and control adenovirus NC-RNAi-GFP treatment.Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3(LC3).Mitochondrial membrane potential was measured using the fluorescent probe JC-1.The expression of autophagy was monitored with MDC,LC3 staining,and transmission electron microscopy.Western blotting was used to detect p53,Beclin-1,Bcl-2,and LC3 protein expression in the culture supernatant.RESULTS:The viability of gastric cancer cells was inhibited after siRNA targeting to the Class Ⅰ PI3K blocked Class Ⅰ PI3K signal pathway.MTT assays revealed that,after SGC7901 cancer cells were treated with adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP,the rate of inhibition reached 27.48% ± 2.71% at 24 h,41.92% ± 2.02% at 48 h,and 50.85% ± 0.91% at 72 h.After MGC803 cancer cells were treated with adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAiGFP,the rate of inhibition reached 24.39% ± 0.93% at 24 h,47.00% ± 0.87% at 48 h,and 70.30% ± 0.86% at 72 h(P < 0.05 compared to control group).It was determined that when 50 MOI,the transfection efficiency was 95% ± 2.4%.Adenovirus PI3K(I)RNAi-GFP(50 MOI) induced mitochondrial dysfunction and activated cell apoptosis in SGC7901 cells,and the results described here prove that RNAi of Class Ⅰ PI3K induced apoptosis in SGC7901 cells.The results showed that adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP transfection induced punctate distribution of LC3 immunoreactivity,indicating increased formation of autophagosomes.The results showed that the basal level of Beclin-1 and LC3 protein in SGC7901 cells was low.After incubating with adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP(50 MOI),Beclin-1,LC3,and p53 protein expression was significantly increased from 24 to 72 h.We also found that Bcl-2 protein expression down-regulated with the treatment of adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAi-GFP(50 MOI).A number of isolated membranes,possibly derived from ribosomefree endoplasmic reticulum,were seen.These isolated membranes were elongated and curved to engulf a cytoplasmic fraction and organelles.We used transmission electron microscopy to identify ultrastructural changes in SGC7901 cells after adenovirus PI3K(I)RNAi-GFP(50 MOI) treatment.Control cells showed a round shape and contained normal-looking organelles,nucleus,and chromatin,while adenovirus PI3K(I)-RNAiGFP(50 MOI)-treated cells exhibited the typical signs of autophagy.CONCLUSION:After the Class Ⅰ PI3K signaling pathway has been blocked by siRNA,the proliferation of cells was inhibited and the apoptosis of gastric cancer cells was enhanced. | Bao-Song Zhu Li-Yan Yu Kui Zhao Yong-You Wu Xiao-Li Cheng Yong Wu Feng-Yun Zhong Wei Gong Qiang Chen Chun-Gen Xing | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,11: | 8 |

| 15 | Process and proposal for comprehensive regionalization of Chinese human geography显示文摘The comprehensive regionalization of Chinese human geography is based on the rules governing regional differentiation of Chinese physical geographic factors. Based on regional differences and similarities in human factors, this study divides the whole country into two levels of relatively independent, complete and organically linked human geographic units. As a fundamental, comprehensive, cutting-edge, practical and important task, the comprehensive regionalization of human geography highlights the characteristics, regional and sub-regional features, complexity and variety of spatial differences between factors of Chinese human geography. It is capable of promoting the development of human geography based on local conditions, providing basic scientific support to national and local development strategies, such as the Belt and Road Strategy, new urbanization and environmental awareness, and creating a sound geopolitical environment in key areas. Using results from existing physical and human geographic zoning studies, and in accordance with the principles of synthesis, dominant factors, the relative consistency of the natural environment, the relative consistency of social and economic development, the consistency of the regional cultural landscape, the continuity of spatial distribution and the integrity of county-level administrative divisions, and taking as its basis the division of human geography into 10 major factors(nature, economy, population, culture, ethnicity, agriculture, transportation, urbanization, the settlement landscape and administrative divisions), this paper constructs an index system for the comprehensive regionalization of Chinese human geography through a combination of top-down and bottom-up zoning and spatial clustering analysis. In this study, Chinese human geography is divided into eight regions and 66 sub-regions. The eight human geography regions are(Ⅰ) Northeast China,(Ⅱ) North China,(Ⅲ) East China,(Ⅳ) Central China,(Ⅴ) South China,(Ⅵ) Northwest China,(Ⅶ) Southwest China, and(Ⅷ) Qinghai and Tibet. This zoning proposal fills gaps in studies involving the non-comprehensive regionalization of Chinese human geography. Each human geography region and sub-region has different topographical, climatic, ecological, population, urbanization, economic development, settlement landscape, regional cultural and ethno-religious attributes. This proposal on the comprehensive regionalization of Chinese human geography dovetails closely with previous studies on comprehensive regionalization in Chinese physical geography, Chinese economic zoning, and Chinese agricultural zoning. | 16 | The Relationship between Polymorphisms at 17 Gene Sites and Hypertension among the Aboriginal Tibetan People显示文摘Objective The incidence of hypertension in Tibet ranks highest among all Chinese provinces. This may be due to genetic changes caused by Tibet's unique natural environment and agrarian lifestyle, prompting us to investigated the relationship between gene polymorphisms and hypertension. Methods Blood samples were collected from 229 hypertensive participants and 372 healthy (control) participants from five Tibetan counties. Seventeen single nucleotide polymorphisms were investigated for their connection to hypertension. Results The C allele at rs2070744 of the NOS3 gene was shown to be significantly associated with hypertension (P=0.0443; OR=1.636). Additionally, the T allele of rs4961 of the ADD gene was correlated with hypertension in women (P=0.03124; OR=1.584). Conclusion In this study we found that the NOS3 and ADD genes were related to a high incidence of hypertension among Tibetans. NOS3 gene plays a role in regulating vascular tone and blood vessel diameter, which may be altered by the low-oxygen environment of Tibet. ADD is involved in water and salt metabolism, which is consistent with the high-salt diet of Tibetans.
