| 1 | Computational Machine Learning Representation for the Flexoelectricity Effect in Truncated Pyramid Structures显示文摘In this study,machine learning representation is introduced to evaluate the flexoelectricity effect in truncated pyramid nanostructure under compression.A Non-Uniform Rational B-spline(NURBS)based IGA formulation is employed to model the flexoelectricity.We investigate 2D system with an isotropic linear elastic material under plane strain conditions discretized by 45×30 grid of B-spline elements.Six input parameters are selected to construct a deep neural network(DNN)model.They are the Young's modulus,two dielectric permittivity constants,the longitudinal and transversal flexoelectric coefficients and the order of the shape function.The outputs of interest are the strain in the stress direction and the electric potential due flexoelectricity.The dataset are generated from the forward analysis of the flexoelectric model.80%of the dataset is used for training purpose while the remaining is used for validation by checking the mean squared error.In addition to the input and output layers,the developed DNN model is composed of four hidden layers.The results showed high predictions capabilities of the proposed method with much lower computational time in comparison to the numerical model. | Khader M.Hamdia Hamid Ghasemi Xiaoying Zhuang Naif Alajlan Timon Rabczuk | 2019 | Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,4: | 5 |
| 2 | Larvicidal potential of selected indigenous lichens against three mosquito species–Culex quinquefasciatus, Aedes aegypti and Anopheles stephensi显示文摘Objective:Mosquitoes are the major transmitting vectors of serious human diseases,causing millions of deaths every year with undesirable effects,including toxicity to non-target organisms.Some plants with insecticidal properties have been used in recent years for the control of a variety of pest insects and vectors.In the quest for alternative natural biological control agents against mosquito larvae lichens were selected.Method:Larvicidal activity was assessed with methanolic extracts of Parmotrema reticulatum,Parmotrema kamatti,Parmotrema tinctorum,Parmelia erumpens,Leptogium papilosum,and Roccella montagnei against Aedes aegypti,Anopheles stephensi,and Culex quinquefasciatus.The standard WHO protocols with minor modifications were adopted and the bioassay was evaluated at the concentrations of 100–500μg/m L for each lichen.Since all the lichen extracts showed complete mortality against C.quinquefasciatus in100μg/m L,the concentrations were decreased to 100,50,25,12.5,and 6.25μg/m L for C.quinquefasciatus.Larval mortality was observed for 24 h after treatment.Results:All the lichen extracts exhibited activity against third instar larvae of A.aegypti and A.stephensi at 100μg/m L,and 100%mortality was observed against the vector C.quinquefasciatus at 100μg/m L.The highest larvicidal activity was found with L.papilosum against A.aegypti(81.127μg/m L)and A.stephensi(89.10μg/m L).Similarly,P.tinctorum and R.montagnei when tested against C.quinquefasciatus with minimum concentration<100μg/m L exhibited significant activity withof 5.32and 6.97μg/m L.Conclusion:The bioassay results revealed larvicidal potential of lichens especially against C.quinquefasciatus with high mortality even at lower concentration.Hence,lichens can be used as an ideal sustainable approach for the control of lymphatic filariasis caused by vector C.quinquefasciatus. | Syed Zameer Ahmed Khader Sidhra Syed Zameer Ahmed Kisore Perundurai Venkatesh Kamaraj Chinnaperumal Sanjeeva Nayaka | 2018 | Chinese Herbal Medicines2018,10,2: | 2 |
| 3 | Celiac disease in patients with presumed irritable bowel syndrome:A case-finding study显示文摘AIM:To estimate the prevalence of celiac disease(CD) in adult patients with presumed irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) .METHODS:Between March 2005 and December 2008,742 consecutive patients(293 male,median age 43 years,range 18-69 years) fulfilling the Rome Ⅱ criteria for IBS were prospectively enrolled in the study.IBS was diagnosed via self-completed Rome Ⅱ modular questionnaires.Anti-tissue transglutaminase(anti-tTG) serology was checked to initially recognize possible CD cases.Patients with a positive test were offered endoscopic duodenal biopsy to confirm the diagnosis of CD.RESULTS:Thirty two patients(15 male,median age 41 years,range 19-59 years) were found to have organic diseases other than CD.Twenty four patients tested positive for anti-tTG antibodies,and duodenal biopsies confirmed the diagnosis in all of them.Thus,in this patient population with presumed IBS,3.23% actually had CD.CONCLUSION:CD is common in patients with presumed IBS.Routine screening for CD in patients with symptoms of IBS is recommended. | Khaled Ali Jadallah Yousef Saleh Khader | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,42: | 2 |
| 4 | Structural damage assessment criteria for reinforced concrete buildings by using a Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy process显示文摘Reinforced concrete structures are often exposed to many types of damages and deteriorations due to different causes and exposure conditions during their life cycle.Assessment of such structures is inherently subjected to uncertainty and ambiguity,where subjective opinion and incomplete numeric data are unavoidable.In the damage assessment process,estimating the importance of assessment criteria is an important field in itself,and depends heavily on the experience and expertise of experts.The aim of this study is to present a fuzzy-based assessment model,which estimates the importance of structural assessment criteria for concrete buildings.The work aims also at studying,identifying,and prioritizing assessment criteria.These assessment criteria are based on close visual inspections and simple measurements that do not require special testing or long-term investigation.The main assessment criteria include the state of building history,environmental conditions,structural capacity,durability,and professional involvement in construction.Each of them has two levels of sub-criteria.The criteria weights are obtained based on the opinions of experts using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process(FAHP)method.The application of the FAHP method showed that the most important criteria is the structural capacity with a weighting factor of 50.1%,followed by the environmental condition as second,with a weighting factor of 22.5%. | Khader M.Hamdia Mohammed Arafa Mamoun Alqedra | 2018 | Underground Space2018,3,3: | 2 |

We use the spectral collocation method which is based upon Chebyshev approximations. The properties of Chebyshev polynomials of the third kind are used to reduce the proposed problem to a system of ODEs, which is solved by the finite difference method (FDM).
