3Thermal transport and phase transitions of zirconia by on-the-fly machine-learned interatomic potentials显示文摘Machine-learned interatomic potentials enable realistic finite temperature calculations of complex materials properties with firstprinciples accuracy.It is not yet clear,however,how accurately they describe anharmonic properties,which are crucial for predicting the lattice thermal conductivity and phase transitions in solids and,thus,shape their technological applications.Here we employ a recently developed on-the-fly learning technique based on molecular dynamics and Bayesian inference in order to generate an interatomic potential capable to describe the thermodynamic properties of zirconia,an important transition metal oxide.This machine-learned potential accurately captures the temperature-induced phase transitions below the melting point.We further showcase the predictive power of the potential by calculating the heat transport on the basis of Green–Kubo theory,which allows to account for anharmonic effects to all orders.This study indicates that machine-learned potentials trained on the fly offer a routine solution for accurate and efficient simulations of the thermodynamic properties of a vast class of anharmonic materials.Carla Verdi Ferenc Karsai Peitao Liu Ryosuke Jinnouchi Georg Kresse 2021npj Computational Materials2021,,1:5
4Phylogenetic and climatic constraints drive flowering phenological patterns in a subtropical nature reserve显示文摘Aims Exploring flowering patterns and detecting processes are essential when probing into the nature of reproductive traits during the life history and the interactions among different evolutionary clades.such patterns are believed to be influenced by many factors,but quantifying these impacts at the community-level remains poorly understood.Methods We investigated the flowering patterns based on long-term her-barium records in a given area from subtropical forest regions in southern China.We obtained 5258 herbarium voucher specimens collected from the Dinghushan National Nature reserve(DNNr)belonging to 166 families,943 genera and 2059 species and exam-ined the month when each species was flowering during the period 1920-2007.Important Findings The results showed that plants flowered sequentially almost through-out the whole year,showing the characteristics of subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests.Flowering spectrums of the entire flora and the four life forms exhibited a clear unimodality that is probably typical of subtropical forest communities.Flowering pat-terns of the DNNr were positively correlated with mean rainfall,mean air temperature and mean sunshine duration.median flowering dates of the 38 large species-rich families ranged from early april to late august;25 families exhibited significant unimodal distribution patterns,whereas the remaining families were unclear or bimodal.median flowering dates of the 10 most species-rich genera ranged from middle may to later July.While the results are consist-ent with climatic factors playing a general role in flowering patterns,median flowering dates varied significantly among species-rich families and genera,suggesting that phylogenies could provide spe-cific constraints in subtropical forests.Nan-Cai Pei WJohn Kress Bu-Feng Chen David LErickson Khoon Meng Wong Jin-Long Zhang Wan-Hui Ye Zhong-Liang Huang Dian-Xiang Zhang 2015Journal of Plant Ecology2015,8,2:4

11Novel technique for anastomotic salvage using transanal minimally invasive surgery:A case report显示文摘Anastomotic leak(AL)after low anterior resection(LAR)can be a highly morbid complication.The incidence of AL ranges from 5%to 20%depending on patient characteristics and the distance of the anastomosis from the anal verge.Low anastomoses and leaks pose technical challenges for endoscopic treatment.The aim of this report was to describe the use of a commercially available laparoscopic energy device through a transanal minimally invasive surgery(TAMIS)port for the management of a symptomatic leak not requiring relaparotomy(grade B)after a LAR with diverting loop ileostomy.CASE SUMMARY A TAMIS GelPOINT Path port was inserted into the anus to access the distal rectum.Pneumorectum was achieved with AirSeal insufflation and a 30 degree laparoscope was introduced through a trocar.A LigaSureTM Retractable L-Hook device was then used to perform a septotomy of the chronic sinus tract identified posterior to the coloproctostomy.The procedure was then repeated twice in three weeks intervals with ultimate resolution of the chronic leak cavity.Several months after serial TAMIS septotomies,barium enema demonstrated a patent anastomosis with no evidence of persistent leak or stricture.The patient subsequently underwent ileostomy reversal and has had no significant postoperative issues.CONCLUSION TAMIS septotomy with the LigaSureTM Retractable L-Hook is a feasible and effective,minimally invasive salvage technique for the treatment of grade B ALs.Larger studies are needed to assess the generalizability and long-term results of this technique.Oscar A Olavarria Robert L Kress Shinil K Shah Amit K Agarwal 2019World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2019,11,5:2
