2Impact of mechanical circulatory support and immunomodulation therapy on outcome of patients with fulminant myocarditis: Chinese registry of fulminant myocarditis显示文摘Dear Editor,Patients presenting with acute myocarditis and sudden hemodynamic instability (termed fulminant myocarditis [FM]) still have a high mortality and need for heart transplantation, up to 28% at 60 days.1,2,3 Recent scientific statements and expert opinion consensus suggests early use of temporary mechanical circulatory supports (t-MCS).3,4 Specifically, Chinese scientific statement proposed an extensive use of t-MCS combined with immunoregulatory therapy (IT),4 although formal trials are lacking. We present a multicenter, retrospective study to compare the outcome of patients who were treated with t-MCS and IT vs. patients who didn’t receive these treatments. We included patients with the diagnosis of FM based on the presence of viral prodromal signs/symptoms followed by acute onset of severe heart failure (HF) without other relevant differential diagnosis or pre-existing cardiac disorders. 4White Matter Abnormalities in Major Depression Biotypes Identified by Diffusion Tensor Imaging显示文摘Identifying data-driven biotypes of major depressive disorder(MDD) has promise for the clarification of diagnostic heterogeneity. However, few studies have focused on white-matter abnormalities for MDD subtyping. This study included 116 patients with MDD and118 demographically-matched healthy controls assessed by diffusion tensor imaging and neurocognitive evaluation.Hierarchical clustering was applied to the major fiber tracts, in conjunction with tract-based spatial statistics, to reveal white-matter alterations associated with MDD.Clinical and neurocognitive differences were compared between identified subgroups and healthy controls. With fractional anisotropy extracted from 20 fiber tracts, cluster analysis revealed 3 subgroups based on the patterns of abnormalities. Patients in each subgroup versus healthy controls showed a stepwise pattern of white-matter alterations as follows: subgroup 1(25.9% of patient sample),widespread white-matter disruption;subgroup 2(43.1% of patient sample), intermediate and more localized abnormalities in aspects of the corpus callosum and left cingulate;and subgroup 3(31.0% of patient sample),possible mild alterations, but no statistically significant tract disruption after controlling for family-wise error. The neurocognitive impairment in each subgroup accompanied the white-matter alterations: subgroup 1, deficits in sustained attention and delayed memory;subgroup 2, dysfunction in delayed memory;and subgroup 3, no significant deficits. 5Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait.Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,9:6
6The Tibetan Plateau Surface–Atmosphere Coupling System and Its Weather and Climate Effects: The Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP) is a key area affecting forecasts of weather and climate in China and occurrences of extreme weather and climate events over the world. The China Meteorological Administration, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly initiated the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment(TIPEX-Ⅲ) in 2013, with an 8–10-yr implementation plan. Since its preliminary field measurements conducted in 2013, routine automatic sounding systems have been deployed at Shiquanhe, Gaize, and Shenzha stations in western TP, where no routine sounding observations were available previously. The observational networks for soil temperature and soil moisture in the central and western TP have also been established. Meanwhile, the plateau-scale and regional-scale boundary layer observations, cloud–precipitation microphysical observations with multiple radars and aircraft campaigns, and tropospheric–stratospheric air composition observations at multiple sites, were performed. The results so far show that the turbulent heat exchange coefficient and sensible heat flux are remarkably lower than the earlier estimations at grassland, meadow, and bare soil surfaces of the central and western TP. Climatologically, cumulus clouds over the main body of the TP might develop locally instead of originating from the cumulus clouds that propagate northward from South Asia. The TIPEX-Ⅲ observations up to now also reveal diurnal variations, macro-and microphysical characteristics, and water-phase transition mechanisms, of cumulus clouds at Naqu station. Moreover, TIPEX-Ⅲ related studies have proposed a maintenance mechanism responsible for the Asian 'atmospheric water tower' and demonstrated the effects of the TP heating anomalies on African, Asian, and North American climates. Additionally, numerical modeling studies show that the Γ distribution of raindrop size is more suitable for depicting the TP raindrop characteristics compared to the M–P distribution, the overestimation of sensible heat flux can be reduced via modifying the heat transfer parameterization over the TP, and considering climatic signals in some key areas of the TP can improve the skill for rainfall forecast in the central and eastern parts of China. 7Enhanced damping capacity of ferromagnetic Fe-Ga alloys by introducing structural defects显示文摘The irreversible motion of magnetic domain walls in ferromagnets can dissipate a large portion of the elastic energy,and the associated damping capacity is proportional to the magnetostriction constant.In contrast,here we found that the damping capacity of the large magnetostriction Fe-Ga alloys can be enhanced by 2-3 times through introducing structural defects including interfacial dislocations and stacking faults,despite that these defects deteriorate the magnetostriction.These structural defects were introduced by aging the BCC(body-centered-cubic)solution-treated precursor,for which the formation of mechanically harder FCT(face-centered-tetragonal)and/or FCC(face-centered-cubic)phases can result in high-density partial dislocations at the semi-coherent phase interfaces and quasi-periodically stacked nano-layer substructure inside the FCC variants.The structural defects act as extra damping sources besides the magnetic domain walls because the structural accommodation of the semi-coherent phase interfaces between BCC and FCT/FCC nanoprecipitates with different elastic moduli and the nano-layer substructure towards long-range ordered periodical stacking can dissipate a large portion of mechanical energy.These findings suggest that introducing structural defects provides fresh freedom to design high damping ferromagnetic materials.Ruihua Qiao Junming Gou Tianzi Yang Yiqun Zhang Feng Liu Shanshan Hu Tianyu Ma 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,25:3

18Electrochemical performances of NiO/Ni2N nanocomposite thin film as anode material for lithium ion batteries显示文摘Despite the high specific capacities,the practical application of transition metal oxides as the lithium ion battery(LIB)anode is hindered by their low cycling stability,severe polarization,low initial coulombic efficiency,etc.Here,we report the synthesis of the NiO/Ni2N nanocomposite thin film by reactive magnetron sputtering with a Ni metal target in an atmosphere of 1 vol.% O2 and 99 vol.%N2.The existence of homogeneously dispersed nano Ni2N phase not only improves charge transfer kinetics,but also contributes to the one-off formation of a stable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI).In comparison with the NiO electrode,the NiO/Ni2N electrode exhibits significantly enhanced cycling stability with retention rate of 98.8%(85.6%for the NiO electrode)after 50 cycles,initial coulombic efficiency of 76.6%(65.0%for the NiO electrode)and rate capability with 515.3 mA·h·g^−1(340.1 mA·h·g^−1 for the NiO electrode)at 1.6 A·g^−1.Yanlin JIA Zhiyuan MA Zhicheng LI Zhenli HE Junming SHAO Hong ZHANG 2019Frontiers of Materials Science2019,13,4:1
