| 2 | Late Cenozoic deformation subsequence in northeastern margin of Tibet --Detrital AFT records from Linxia Basin显示文摘Two events of Tibet uplifting are revealed by detrital apatite fission track (AFT) age data from Linxia Basin. They occurred at about 14 and 5.4-8.0 MaBP respectively. We interpret the first one to be related to the uplifting of the northern Tibet, which might have resulted from convectively removing the thickened lower lithosphere. The second one is a result of Laji Mountain uplifting. Numerous studies of the Tibetan Plateau suggest that the onset time of the deformation in the northeastern margin of Tibetan Plateau and the time of Tibet attaining to its present elevation is about 8 MaBP. They are approximately coincident with the uplift of Lajishan Mountain. It suggests that the northeastern margin of Tibet propagated northeastwardly to its present site in about 8 MaBP for accommodating the sustained convergence between India-Eurasia plate and for keeping its high elevation. | 4 | Fission track dating of the Cenozoic uplift in Mabian area, southern Sichuan Province, China显示文摘The apparent ages of samples are obtained from fission track dating of apatite samples collected from the fault zones in Mabian area, southern Sichuan Province. In addition, thermal history is simulated from the obtained data by applying AFT Solve Program, to acquire the thermal evolution history of the samples. The result shows that tectonically the Mabian area was relatively stable between 25 and 3 Ma, compared to the inner parts and other marginal areas of the Tibetan Plateau. The studied area had little response to the rapid uplift events that occurred for several times in the Tibetan Plateau during 25-3 Ma. The latest thermal event related to the activity of the Lidian fault zone (about 8 Ma ) is later than that of the Ebian fault zone (18-15 Ma ) to the west, indicating to some extent that the evolution of fault activity in the Mabian area has migrated from west to east. The latest extensive tectonic uplift occurred since about 3 Ma. As compared with the Xianshuihe fault zone, the Mabian area is closer to the east- ern margin of the plateau, while the time of fast cooling event in this area is later than that in the southeast segment of the Xianshuihe fault zone (3.6-3.46 Ma ). | 6 | Inhibitory effect of tumor suppressor p33^(ING1b) and its synergy with p53 gene in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To investigate the inhibitory effect of tumor suppressor p33ING1b and its synergy with p53 gene in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).METHODS: Recombinant sense and antisense p33ING1b plasmids were transfected into hepatoma cell line HepG2 with lipofectamine. Apoptosis, G0/G1 arrest, cell growth rate and cloning efficiency in soft agar of HepG2 were analyzed after transfection. In three hepatoma cell lineswith different endogenous p53 gene expressions, the synergistic effect of p33ING1b with p53 was analyzed by flow cytometry and luciferase assay was performed to detect the activation of p53 downstream gene p21WAF1/CIP1. In addition, the expression and mutation rates of p33ING1b in HCC tissues were measured by immunohistochemistry and polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP).RESULTS: Overexpression of p33ING1b inhibited cell growth of HepG2, induced more apoptosis and protected cells from growth in soft agar. Combined transfer of p33ING1b and p53 gene promoted hepatoma cell apoptosis, G0/G1 arrest and elevated expression of p21WAF1/CIP1. Immunostaining results showed co-localized P33ING1b with P53 protein in HCC tissues and there was a significant relation between protein expression rates of these two genes (P<0.01).Among 28 HCC samples, p33ING1b presented a low gene mutation rate (7.1%).CONCLUSION: p33ING1b collaborates with p53 in cell growth inhibition, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in HCC. | 7 | Suitable internal control genes for qRT-PCR normalization in cotton fiber development and somatic embryogenesis显示文摘The mechanisms of cotton fiber development and somatic embryogenesis have been explored sys-tematically with microarray and suppression subtractive hybridization. Real-time RT-PCR provides the simultaneous measurement of gene expression in many different samples,with which the data from microarray or others can be confirmed in detail. To achieve accurate and reliable gene expression re-sults,normalization of real-time PCR data against one or several internal control genes is required,which should not fluctuate in different tissues during various stages of development. We assessed the gene expression of 7 frequently used housekeeping genes,including 18S rRNA,Histone3,UBQ7,Actin,Cyclophilin,Gbpolyubiquitin-1 and Gbpolyubiquitin-2,in a diverse set of 21 cotton samples. For fiber developmental series the expression of all housekeeping genes had the same down tendency after 17 DPA. But the expression of the AGP gene(arabinogalactan protein) that has high expression level at the later fiber development stage was up-regulated from 15 to 27 DPA. So the relative absolute quanti-fication should be an efficient and convenient method for the fiber developmental series. The expres-sion of nonfiber tissues series varied not so much against the fiber developmental series. | 8 | Geological analysis and FT dating of the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement of the Red River fault zone显示文摘Tectonically, the large-scale right-lateral strike-slip movement along the Red River fault zone is char-acterized at its late phase with the southeastward extension and deformation of the Northwestern Yunnan normal fault depression on its northern segment, and the dextral shear displacement on its central-southern segment. Research of the relations between stratum deformation and fault movement on the typical fault segments, such as Jianchuan, southeast Midu, Yuanjiang River, Yuanyang, etc. since the Miocene Epoch shows that there are two times dextral faulting dominated by normal shearing occurring along the Red River fault zone since the Miocene Epoch. The fission track dating (abbrevi-ated to FT dating, the same below) is conducted on apatite samples collected from the above fault segments and relating to these movements. Based on the measured single grain’s age and the con-fined track length, we choose the Laslet annealing model to retrieve the thermal history of the samples, and the results show that the fault zone experienced two times obvious shear displacement, one in 5.5 ± 1.5 MaBP and the other in 2.1± 0.8 MaBP. From this point of view, the formulae of resistance loss for combined flow and divided flow through isodiametric T-type duct with sharp corners as well as the correlations of resistance loss coefficients in the branches of the duct are derived using energy method. On this basis, resistance characteristics of hydraulic oil in the duct are obtained by numerical simulation of different flow modes, which are commonly applied in hydraulic pipelines, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, and the reasons for the resistance loss are analyzed based on the pressure change mechanism in the flow field. A part of simulation results was validated with the reference data. The research shows that for combined flows the resistance loss of symmetrical is lower than that of unsymmetrical to obtain low speed in common branch, but to gain high speed is quite the contrary, for divided flows, the symmetrical is always a reasonable choice to reduce resistance loss. | 15 | Preparation of Ag@AgCl-doped TiO_2/sepiolite and its photocatalytic mechanism under visible light显示文摘A cube-like Ag@Ag Cl-doped TiO_2/sepiolite(denoted Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite) was successfully synthesized via a novel method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersion X-ray fluorescence, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and diffuse reflectance ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy were performed to determine the structure and physicochemical properties of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite. SEM micrographs revealed that Ag@Ag Cl nanoparticles and TiO_2 film are well deposited on the surface of tube-like sepiolite. As a result, Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite exhibits a red shift relative to TiO_2/sepiolite. Photocatalytic experiments demonstrated that the dosage of catalysts plays an important role during photocatalysis. The photoelectrochemical activities of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite and TiO_2/sepiolite were also investigated. Photocurrent responses confirmed that the ability of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite to separate photo-generated electron–hole pairs is stronger than that of TiO_2/sepiolite. Methylene Blue degradation is also improved under alkaline conditions and visible light irradiation because more UOH is produced by visible light excitation.This excellent catalytic ability is mainly attributed to the formed Ag nanoparticles and the Schottky barrier at the Ag/TiO_2 interface. Active species analysis indicated that UO2-and h+are implicated as active species in photocatalysis. The Mg–Zn intermetallic compounds(IMCs) were discontinuously distributed in the SZ, replacing the continuous Al–Mg IMCs. The size of Mg–Zn IMCs increased with the increase in the thickness of the Zn interlayer.
