1Cenozoic Evolution of Sediments and Climate Change and Response to Tectonic Uplift of the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Through a comprehensive study of magnetostratigraphy and sedimentology of several basins in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau, we reveal that the study area mainly experienced six tectonic uplift stages at approximately 52 Ma, 34–30 Ma, 24–20 Ma, 16–12 Ma, 8–6 Ma, and 3.6–2.6 Ma. Comprehensive analyses of pollen assemblages from the Qaidam, Linxia, Xining, and West Jiuquan Basins show that the northeastern Tibetan Plateau has undergone six major changes in vegetation types and climate: 50–40 Ma for the warm-humid forest vegetation, 40–23 Ma for the warm-arid and temperate-arid forest steppe vegetation, 23–18.6 Ma for the warm-humid and temperatehumid forest vegetation, 18.6–8.5 Ma for the warm-humid and cool-humid forest steppe vegetation, 8.6–5 Ma for the temperate sub-humid savanna steppe vegetation, and 5–1.8 Ma for the cold-arid steppe vegetation. Comprehensive comparisons of tectonic uplift events inferred from sedimentary records, climatic changes inferred from pollen, and global climate changes show that in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau the climate in the Paleogene at low altitude was mainly controlled by the global climate change, while that in the Neogene interval with high altitude landscapes of mountains and basins is more controlled by altitude and morphology.LIANG Xia JI Junliang LU Jingfang KE Xue AI Keke XU Yadong SONG Bowen 2014Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2014,88,3:5
2Eigen microstates and their evolutions in complex systems显示文摘Emergence refers to the existence or formation of collective behaviors in complex systems.Here,we develop a theoretical framework based on the eigen microstate theory to analyze the emerging phenomena and dynamic evolution of complex system.In this framework,the statistical ensemble composed of M microstates of a complex system with N agents is defined by the normalized N×M matrix A,whose columns represent microstates and order of row is consist with the time.The ensemble matrix A can be decomposed as■,where r=min(N,M),eigenvalueσIbehaves as the probability amplitude of the eigen microstate U_I so that■and U_I evolves following V_I.In a disorder complex system,there is no dominant eigenvalue and eigen microstate.When a probability amplitudeσIbecomes finite in the thermodynamic limit,there is a condensation of the eigen microstate UIin analogy to the Bose–Einstein condensation of Bose gases.This indicates the emergence of U_I and a phase transition in complex system.Our framework has been applied successfully to equilibrium threedimensional Ising model,climate system and stock markets.We anticipate that our eigen microstate method can be used to study non-equilibrium complex systems with unknown orderparameters,such as phase transitions of collective motion and tipping points in climate systems and ecosystems.Yu Sun Gaoke Hu Yongwen Zhang Bo Lu Zhenghui Lu Jingfang Fan Xiaoteng Li Qimin Deng Xiaosong Chen 2021Communications in Theoretical Physics2021,73,6:5
3Mesoscale fracture behavior of Longmaxi outcrop shale with different bedding angles:Experimental and numerical investigations显示文摘The mechanical properties and fracturing mechanism of shale containing beddings are critically important in shale gas exploitation and wellbore stability.To investigate the effects of shale bedding on crack behavior and fracturing mechanism,scanning electron microscope(SEM)with a loading system was employed to carry out three-point bending tests on Longmaxi outcrop shale.The crack initiation and propagation of Longmaxi shale were observed and recorded by taking photos during loading.The cracking paths were extracted to calculate the crack length through a MATLAB program.The peak load,fracture toughness and fracture energy all increase with the bedding angle from 0°to 90°.The crack length and energy were also found to increase with the bedding angle in the range of 0°-600 and then drop slightly.The fracturing mechanism of shale includes the main crack affected by the bedding angle and disturbed by randomly distributed particles.The main cracking path was accompanied by several microcrack branches which could form an interconnected crack system.When the main crack encounters larger sedimentary particles,it will deflect around the particles and then restore to the initial direction.A numerical technique using extended finite element method(XFEM)coupled with anisotropic cohesive damage criteria was developed,which is able to capture the dependence of crack propagations on bedding angle and sedimentary particles.This study sheds light on understanding and predicting mesoscale fracture behavior of shale with different bedding angles.Jianping Zuo Jingfang Lu Rojin Ghandriz Jintao Wang Yanhong Li Xiaoyan Zhang Jun Li Hongtao Li 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,2:4
4A four-gene signature-derived risk score for glioblastoma:prospects for prognostic and response predictive analyses显示文摘Objective: Glioblastoma(GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor regulated by numerous genes, with poor survival outcomes and unsatisfactory response to therapy.Therefore, a robust, multi-gene signature-derived model is required to predict the prognosis and treatment response in GBM.Methods: Gene expression data of GBM from TCGA and GEO datasets were used to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)through DESeq2 or LIMMA methods.The DEGs were then overlapped and used for survival analysis by univariate and multivariate COX regression.Based on the gene signature of multiple survival-associated DEGs, a risk score model was established,and its prognostic and predictive role was estimated through Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) was conducted to explore high-risk score-associated pathways.Western blot was used for protein detection.Results: Four survival-associated DEGs of GBM were identified: OSMR, HOXC10, SCARA3, and SLC39A10.The four-gene signature-derived risk score was higher in GBM than in normal brain tissues.GBM patients with a high-risk score had poor survival outcomes.The high-risk group treated with temozolomide chemotherapy or radiotherapy survived for a shorter duration than the low-risk group.GSEA showed that the high-risk score was enriched with pathways such as vasculature development and cell adhesion.Western blot confirmed that the proteins of these four genes were differentially expressed in GBM cells.Conclusions: The four-gene signature-derived risk score functions well in predicting the prognosis and treatment response in GBM and will be useful for guiding therapeutic strategies for GBM patients.Mianfu Cao Juan Cai Ye Yuan Yu Shi Hong Wu Qing Liu Yueliang Yao Lu Chen Weiqi Dang XiangZhang Jingfang Xiao Kaidi Yang Zhicheng He Xiaohong Yao Yonghong Cui Xia Zhang Xiuwu Bian 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3:2
5OsbZIP72 Is Involved in Transcriptional Gene-Regulation Pathway of Abscisic Acid Signal Transduction by Activating Rice High-Affinity Potassium Transporter OsHKT1;1显示文摘We created CRISPR-Cas9 knock-out and overexpressing OsbZIP72 transgenic rice plants to gain a better understanding of the role and molecular mechanism of OsbZIP72 gene in stress tolerance,which has remained largely elusive.OsbZIP72 was expressed and integrated into rice transgenic plant genomes,and the OsbZIP72 transcript in overexpression lines was elicited by salinity,abscisic acid(ABA)and drought stresses.OsbZIP72 overexpressing plants showed higher tolerance to drought and salinity stresses,while knock-out transgenic lines showed higher sensitivity to these stresses.The differentially expressed genes(DEGs)from RNA-sequencing data encompassed several abiotic stress genes,and the functional classification of these DEGs demonstrated the robust transcriptome diversity in OsbZIP72.Yeast one-hybrid,along with luciferase assay,indicated that OsbZIP72 acted as a transcriptional initiator.Remarkably,electrophoresis mobility assay revealed that OsbZIP72 bound directly to the ABAresponsive element in the OsHKT1;1 promoter region and activated its transcription.Overall,our findings revealed that OsbZIP72 can act as a transcriptional modulator with the ability to induce the expression of OsHKT1;1 in response to environmental stress through an ABA-dependent regulatory pathway,indicating that OsbZIP72 can play a crucial role in the ABA-mediated salt and drought tolerance pathway in rice.WANG Baoxiang LIU Yan WANG Yifeng LI Jingfang SUN Zhiguang CHI Ming XING Yungao XU Bo YANG Bo LI Jian LIU Jinbo CHEN Tingmu FANG Zhaowei LU Baiguan XU Dayong Babatunde Kazeem BELLO 2021Rice science2021,28,3:2
6Reinforcement learning based energy efficient robot relay for unmanned aerial vehicles against smart jamming显示文摘Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)with limited energy resources,severe path loss,and shadowing to the ground base stations are vulnerable to smart jammers that aim to degrade the UAV communication performance and exhaust the UAV energy.The UAV anti-jamming communication performance,such as the outage probability,degrades if the robot relay is not aware of the jamming policies and the UAV network topology.In this paper,we propose a robot relay scheme for UAVs against smart jamming,which combines reinforcement learning with a function approximation approach named tile coding,to jointly optimize the robot moving distance and relay power with the unknown jamming channel states and locations.The robot mobility and relay policy are chosen based on the received jamming power,the robot received signal quality,location and energy consumption,and the bit error rate of the UAV messages.We also present a deep reinforcement learning version for the robot with sufficient computing resources.It uses three deep neural networks to choose the robot mobility and relay policy with reduced sample complexity,so as to avoid exploring dangerous policies that lead to the high outage probability of the UAV messages.The network architecture of the three networks is designed with fully connected layers instead of convolutional layers to reduce the computational complexity,which is analyzed by theoretical analyses.We provide the performance bound of the proposed schemes in terms of the bit error rate,robot energy consumption and utility based on a game-theoretic study.Simulation results show that the performance of our proposed relay schemes,including the bit error rate,the outage probability,and the robot energy consumption outperforms the existing schemes.Xiaozhen LU Jingfang JIE Zihan LIN Liang XIAO Jin LI Yanyong ZHANG 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,1:1

9Effects of Molecular Crowding on G-Quadruplex-hemin Mediated Peroxidase Activity显示文摘The concentration of macromolecules in cells can reach up to 50-400 mg/mL.They occupy 40%(volume fraction)of the whole cellar space,known as molecular crowding.The diluted solution condition in vitro is different from the crowded physiological condition in vivo.Therefore,the simulation of the physiological condition is necessary for obtaining the reliable results.It has been reported that G-quadruplex can bind to hemin to enhance its catalytic function for generating oxygen radicals,which can oxidize the lipids,proteins and DNA,thus leading to the damage of cells and tissues.In this paper,we chose PEG400 as molecular crowding reagent to simulate the molecular crowding environment in vivo.The catalytic characteristics of G-quadruplex-hemin complex in H202-ABTS system have been investigated[ABTS=2,2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate)].The results showed that the binding affinity of G-quadruplex and hemin was decreased with the increasing of PEG400 concentration.They even lose their binding affinity in the presence of 40%PEG400.As a result,the peroxidase activity of G-quadruplex-hemin also reduced.Therefore,in physiological condition,hemin might not bind to G-quadruplex and it might not be the main reason to cause the damages of cells and tissues.LIU Lu LIN Jingfang SONG Yanling YANG Chaoyong ZHU Zhi 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,2:0

12Transgressive Events since the Late Pleistocene in the Yellow River Delta: Grain-size Distribution and Palynological Results显示文摘This study deals with the relationship between sea-level changes and paleoclimatic fluctuations based on the analysis of stratigraphy, grain sizes, palynology, and radiometric dating of the Yellow River delta since the Late Pleistocene. Evidence from the sedimentary record, grain sizes, and pollen provides a paleoenvironmental history of the Late Pleistocene from the boreholes of the delta. Based on a combination of grain-size analysis with lithological studies, marine deposit units contain the intervals of 13.85–16.9, 18.5–19.69, 27.9–34.8, 36.4–37.2, 48.4–51.6, and 54.1–55.9 m, and transitional facies units contain the intervals of 10.25–13.85, 16.9–18.5, 19.69–27.9, 34.8–36.4, 37.2–48.4, 51.6–54.1, and 55.9–60 m, compared with fluvial(terrestrial facies) deposit units(3.36–10.25 m). Based on pollen analysis and pollen assemblages, there were three warm-wet periods from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 16.1–60 ka BP, and 90.1–94.6 ka BP From the top to the bottom of the borehole, the paleoclimate has an evident fluctuation: warm and moist(Holocene Optimum) —cool and dry(Younger Dryas Event)—mild semi cool—cool and dry—warm and moist. There were three warm-wet periods from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 16.1–60 ka BP, and 90.1–94.6 ka BP, corresponding to the Holocene Optimum stage, MIS 3, and MIS 5, respectively. The warm period allowed monsoonal evergreen and broadleaved deciduous forests that corresponded to Holocene hypsithermal climatic conditions and the Late Pleistocene climatic Optimum. Three warm-wet periods occurred in marine deposit units from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 60.1–16.1 ka BP, and 94.6–90.1 ka BP. These periods correspond to the Cangzhou transgression, Xianxian transgression, and Huanghua transgression, respectively. From 90.1–60.1 ka BP, 17.5–9.1 ka BP, and 0. 16 ka BP–1855 AD, three dry and cold phases are recognized.
