These new indices eliminate some of the disadvantages of the h-index, especially when they are used in combina-tion with the h-index. The R-index measures the h-core’s citation intensity, while AR goes one step further and takes the age of publications into account. This allows for an index that can actually in-crease and decrease over time. We propose the pair (h, AR) as a meaningful indicator for research evaluation. | 4 | A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. | 8 | Glycyrrhizic acid inhibits apoptosis and fibrosis in carbontetrachloride-induced rat liver injury显示文摘AIM:To investigate anti-apoptotic effects of glycyrrhizic acid(GA) against fibrosis in carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced liver injury and its contributing factors.METHODS:Liver fibrosis was induced by administration of CCl4 for 8 wk.Pathological changes in the liver of rats were examined by hematoxylin-eosin staining.Collagen fibers were detected by Sirius red staining.Hepatocyte apoptosis was determined by TUNEL assay and the expression levels of cleaved caspase-3,Bax,α-SMA,connective tissue growth factor(CTGF),matrix metalloproteinase(MMP) 2 and MMP9 proteins were evaluated by western blot analysis,and α-SMA m RNA,collagen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ m RNA were estimated by real-time PCR.RESULTS:Treatment with GA significantly improved the pathological changes in the liver and markedly decreased the positive area of Sirius red compared with rats in the CCl4-treated group.TUNEL assay showed that GA significantly reduced the number of TUNEL-positive cells compared with the CCl4-treated group.The expression levels of cleaved caspase-3,Bax,α-SMA,CTGF,MMP2 and MMP9 proteins,and α-SMA m RNA,collagen type Ⅰ and Ⅲ m RNA were also significantly reduced by GA compared with the CCl4-treated group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:GA treatment can ameliorate CCl4-induced liver fibrosis by inhibiting hepatocyte apoptosis and hepatic stellate cell activation. | Bo Liang Xiao-Ling Guo Jing Jin Yong-Chun Ma Zheng-Quan Feng | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,17: | 44 |

These include site-specific and real-time nitrogen management, non-destructive quick test of the nitrogen status of plants, new types of slow release and controlled release fertilizers, site-specific nutrient management, and use of urease inhibitor and nitrification inhibitor to decrease nitrogen losses. | 15 | Ingestion of Lactobacillus strain reduces anxiety and improves cognitive function in the hyperammonemia rat显示文摘Evidence suggests that the hyperammonemia(HA)-induced neuroinflammation and alterations in the serotonin(5-HT)system may contribute to cognitive decline and anxiety disorder during hepatic encephalopathy(HE).Probiotics that maintain immune system homeostasis and regulate the 5-HT system may be potential treatment for HA-mediated neurological disorders in HE.In this study,we tested the efficacy of probiotic Lactobacillus helveticus strain NS8 in preventing cognitive decline and anxiety-like behavior in HA rats.Chronic HA was induced by intraperitoneal injection of ammonium acetate for four weeks in male Sprague-Dawley rats.HA rats were then given Lactobacillus helveticus strain NS8(109 CFU mL?1)in drinking water as a daily supplementation.The Morris water maze task assessed cognitive function,and the elevated plus maze test evaluated anxiety-like behavior.Neuroinflammation was assessed by measuring the inflammatory markers:inducible nitric oxide synthase,prostaglandin E2,and interleukin-1βin the brain.5-HT system activity was evaluated by measuring 5-HT and its metabolite,5-HIAA,and the 5-HT precursor,tryptophan.Probiotic treatment of HA rats significantly reduced the level of inflammatory markers,decreased 5-HT metabolism,restored cognitive function and improved anxiety-like behavior.These results indicate that probiotic L.helveticus strain NS8 is beneficial for the treatment of cognitive decline and anxiety-like behavior in HA rats. | LUO Jia WANG Tao LIANG Shan HU Xu LI Wei JIN Feng | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,3: | 27 |
| 16 | Structural changes of gut microbiota in Parkinson's disease and its correlation with clinical features显示文摘The aim of this study was to compare the structure of gut microbiota in Parkinson's disease(PD) patients and healthy controls;and to explore correlations between gut microbiota and PD clinical features. We analyzed fecal bacterial composition of 24 PD patients and 14 healthy volunteers by using 16 S rRNA sequencing. There were significant differences between PD and healthy controls, as well as among different PD stages. The putative cellulose degrading bacteria from the genera Blautia(P=0.018),Faecalibacterium(P=0.048) and Ruminococcus(P=0.019) were significantly decreased in PD compared to healthy controls.The putative pathobionts from the genera Escherichia-Shigella(P=0.038), Streptococcus(P=0.01), Proteus(P=0.022), and Enterococcus(P=0.006) were significantly increased in PD subjects. Correlation analysis indicated that disease severity and PD duration negatively correlated with the putative cellulose degraders, and positively correlated with the putative pathobionts. | 18 | Incidence and mortality of esophagus cancer in China, 2008-2012显示文摘Objective: To analyze the incidence and mortality rates of esophagus cancer in China from 2008 to 2012.Methods: Incident and mortality cases of esophagus cancer were retrieved from the National Central Cancer Registry(NCCR) database collecting from 135 cancer registries in China during 2008-2012. The incidence and mortality rates of esophagus cancer were calculated by area(urban/rural), region(eastern, middle, western), gender and age group(0, 1-4, 5-84 by 5 years and 85+ years). China census in 2000 and Segi’s world population were applied for age-standardized rates. Joinpoint model was used for time-trend analysis.Results: The crude incidence rate of esophagus cancer was 22.57/100,000. The age-standardized incidence rates by China standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 14.58/100,000 and14.80/100,000, respectively. The crude mortality rate of esophagus cancer was 17.19/100,000. The agestandardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were 10.80/100,000 and 10.86/100,000 respectively. Incidence and mortality rates of esophagus cancer were higher in males than in females and higher in rural areas than in urban areas. The crude incidence rate in middle areas was the highest among all areas, followed by western areas and eastern areas. The age-specific incidence rate of esophagus cancer was relatively low in age groups before 40 years old and then increased after 45 years old. It peaked in the age group of 80-84 years. The patterns of age-specific mortality rates of esophagus cancer were close to those of age-specific incidence rates. The ASIRC of esophagus cancer decreased dramatically by 29.87% between 2003 and 2012, from 14.33/100,000 to 10.05/100,000. The esophagus cancer incidence rate decreased by 3.76% per year(P>0.05). The mortality rate of esophagus cancer decreased annually over the decades from 2003 to 2012 in China(P>0.05).
