1Integrative taxonomy of the Russet Bush Warbler Locustella mandelli complex reveals a new species from central China显示文摘Background: The Russet Bush Warbler Locustella(previously Bradypterus) mandelli complex occurs in mountains in the eastern Himalayas, southern China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The taxonomy has been debated,with one(L. seebohmi) to four(L. seebohmi, L. mandelli, L. montis and L. timorensis) species having been recognised.Methods: We used an integrative approach, incorporating analyses of morphology, vocalizations and a molecular marker, to re-evaluate species limits in the L. mandelli complex.Results: We found that central Chinese L. mandelli differed from those from India through northern Southeast Asia to southeast China in plumage, morphometrics and song. All were easily classified by song, and(wing + culmen)/tail ratio overlapped only marginally. Both groups were reciprocally monophyletic in a mitochondrial cytochrome b(cytb) gene tree, with a mean divergence of 1.0 ± 0.2%. They were sympatric and mostly altitudinally segregated in the breeding season in southern Sichuan province. We found that the Mt Victoria(western Myanmar) population differed vocally from other L. mandelli, but no specimens are available. Taiwan Bush Warbler L. alishanensis was sister to the L. mandelli complex, with the most divergent song. Plumage, vocal and cytb evidence supported the distinctness of the south Vietnamese L. mandelli idonea. The Timor Bush Warbler L. timorensis, Javan Bush Warbler L.montis and Benguet Bush Warbler L. seebohmi differed distinctly in plumage, but among-population song variation in L. montis exceeded the differences between some populations of these taxa, and mean pairwise cytb divergences were only 0.5–0.9%. We also found that some L. montis populations differed morphologically.Conclusions: We conclude that the central Chinese population of Russet Bush Warbler represents a new species,which we describe herein, breeding at mid elevations in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou provinces.The taxonomic status of the other allopatric populations is less clear. However, as they differ to a degree comparable with that of the sympatric L. mandelli and the new species, we elevate L. idonea to species status, and retain L. seebohmi and L. montis as separate species, the latter with timorensis as a subspecies. 4Eye Strain Detection During Online Learning显示文摘The recent outbreak of the coronavirus disease of 2019(Covid-19)has been causing many disruptions among the education systems worldwide,most of them due to the abrupt transition to online learning.The sudden upsurge in digital electronic devices usage,namely personal computers,laptops,tablets and smart-phones is unprecedented,which leads to a new wave of both mental and physical health problems among students,for example eye-related illnesses.The overexpo-sure to electronic devices,extended screen time usage and lack of outdoor sun-light have put a consequential strain on the student’s ophthalmic health because of their young age and a relative lack of responsibility on their own health.Failure to take appropriate external measures to mitigate the negative effects of this pro-cess could lead to common ophthalmic illnesses such as myopia or more serious conditions.To remedy this situation,we propose a software solution that is able to track and capture images of its users’eyes to detect symptoms of eye illnesses while simultaneously giving them warnings and even offering treatments.To meet the requirements of a small and light model that is operable on low-end devices without information loss,we optimized the original MobileNetV2 model with depth-wise separable convolutions by altering the parameters in the last layers with an aim to minimize the resizing of the input image and obtained a new model which we call EyeNet.Combined with applying the knowledge distillation tech-nique and ResNet-18 as a teacher model to train the student model,we have suc-cessfully increased the accuracy of the EyeNet model up to 87.16%and support the development of a model compatible with embedded systems with limited computing power,accessible to all students.Le Quang Thao Duong Duc Cuong Vu Manh Hung Le Thanh Vinh Doan Trong Nghia Dinh Ha Hai Nguyen Nhan Nhi 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,3:0
5Effect of heating time on structural,morphology,optical,and photocatalytic properties of g-C3N4 nanosheets显示文摘Effect of heating time on the structural,morphology,optical,and photocatalytic properties of graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4)nanosheets prepared at 550℃in Ar atmosphere is studied.The investigations are carried out by using x-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),UV-vis absorption,and photoluminescence(PL).At a heating temperature of 550℃,g-C3N4 nanocrystals are formed after 0.5 h and become more orderly as the heating time increases.The surface area of the g-C3N4 nanosheets significantly increases as the preparation time increases.The g-C3N4 prepared in 2.5 h shows the highest photocatalytic performance,decomposing completely 10 ppm RhB solution under xenon lamp irradiation for 2.0 h.Nguyen Manh Hung Le Thi Mai Oanh Lam Thi Hang Pham Do Chung Pham Thi Duyen Dao Viet Thang Nguyen Van Minh 2020Chinese Physics B2020,29,5:0
